Waited forever there until finally a bus pulled up. Phew I thought. Finally! However the driver of bus blew his horn a good 30 ft behind me , so far that I didn't even know it was me he was blowing at and he refused to pull the bus in until I moved my car! Charging $189 for this experience is completely unacceptable. The meal was advertised as a three-course dinner, but we were only served two. Worse, the food was practically inedible. We both love salmon, but what was served tasted old, fishy, and completely unfresh, we couldn't eat more than a single small bite. The sweet potatoes were bland, the lima beans were oddly sweet, and the dinner rolls were literally handed to us in plastic Ziploc bags. For $189, there should at least be basic meal choices (like baked chicken, rice/mashed potatoes, and green beans) instead of forcing a poorly prepared, single option on everyone. My window seat was so severely scratched up that I couldn't even see out of it and had to move. Once I moved, the view consisted almost entirely of overgrown brush, weeds, and the backs of new house developments. Despite being tied to a historical station and museum, there was no narration, no historical facts, no music, and no entertainment whatsoever. You are essentially sitting in total silence on a slow train eating terrible food. This trip was nowhere near worth $189. Potential visitors should save their money, and management seriously needs to rethink their catering, pricing, and overall guest experience.

I understand development happens so seeing a lot of backyards of houses, development centers, and more modern town- it is what it is- but for a next experience I would like to find a ride that offers more scenic experience & a bit more variety in the ride I was also a bit disappointed with the kid's Santa's gift- the advertisement came off like the gift was a bell (reminiscent of Polar Express), but the kids were gifted some sticker create a train kit- it really wasn't a universal gift for all ages- both my kids weren't old enough to understand what it was, so basically I put the gift together-they said cool & moved on- it would have been nicer to have something more rewarding from Santa.

Once everyone in my family was fully vaccinated, we began to plan the long awaited reunion. Since I wasn't entirely sure of her schedule, I wasn't able to book until the day before we needed the driver so I was very happy that Culdesac was able to accommodate. During my first phone call, I was able to book a driver for 5 hours to take us to a winery in Virginia. Culdesac not only contacted me the same day, but they were the only ones who provided me with any form of communication, and I've yet to hear back from the other 2 companies. That alone catapulted Culdesac to 5 star status in my book! I had 11 people in my group and was suggested a 14 passenger Mercedes Sprint Van, picking up from IAD to downtown Washington for $275, which included tax and gratuity. I believe I spoke to Sammy, who was very helpful and friendly. Fast forward to February... The day before our trip, Sammy called me to reconfirm, and sent me our driver's name and number. A hiccup happened to our trip, and I sent Derek a text to come to the airport earlier than we agreed upon. Culdesac called to verify we needed an earlier pickup, Derek kept me in the loop of his transit time, and he came to the spot we told him we were at. Super professional! We decided to use Culdesac to take us back to the airport. Again the day before, I got a call and email reconfirming my pickup at 1:30 pm. We were told that Derek was going to take us back, but unfortunately a hiccup occured where his appointment was going to run over, so Derek texted me that someone else will pick us up, and not to worry. A few minutes after the text, Culdesac called me to say Derek was being replaced by Sam, and they texted me his number. Sam arrived at 1:15 in a 20 passenger van, just as nice as the Mercedes Sprinter, and even newer! It was also handicapped accessible, which was a good thing to remember if someone was disabled. He was just as courteous and got us to the airport safely and quickly. I honestly believe this company deserves 5 stars. They were professional, easy to get a hold of via email and phone, and communicated with me from start to finish. They charged my card after the service was completed, and the tip and tax was included in the fee. I would gladly use them again if I am back in the DC area.
