Friendly, honest, knowledgeable folks. Had a vibration issue going down the road. They fit me in and showed me what was wrong.

If there was a no star i would give it. Scheduled an appointment to get my belt changed and possibly a bad pulley went in customer service was great. Truck was put on the lift and then guy comes in tells me the price mind you it's for a BELT and a pulley which is both one nut to take off and you don't even have to unscrew any bolt to take off a belt just turn with a long wrench and boom the belt is off and you can install the new one the same way !!! Anyway they wanted ($600) for that simple fix I ended up buying a belt at autozone for $30 and did it myself for free this isn't the first time I got asked to spend an arm and a leg for a simple fix! Ordered tires from Tire rack Had them shipped here as they are listed as a tire rack installer. Received shipping email stating tires were delivered. Called Monro who confirmed that they had my tires. Scheduled an appointment for install. Arrived for said appointment. Was told I did not have an appointment. Attempted to show the email confirmation to the woman (I use that term loosely) at the desk who stated she did not need to see it because she is the only person who answers the phone and she did not have an appointment in her system. She then said that my tires were not there and attempted to take my vehicle information (I'm assuming she was trying to hustle me by 'selling' me the tires that I already purchased that were in fact at their shop. I told her I was going to contact the authorities since they were attempting to steal from me. The woman (again, I use that term loosely) then walked into the shop and threw my tires into their parking lot, while laughing. One of their greasy employees walked out into the lot, picked up my tires and threw them at me, then "bucked" at me as if he were going to assault me. The police arrived. Ended up 500 feet away at Walmart. They installed them within an hour and were accommodating and friendly. Do not do business with this trashy shop. Not a good scene. read more

In today's world we tend to voice our opinion about the negative. We forget to say anything about the good things that happen. Today I had a tapping going on with my car. It was really annoying me I took it to Monroe Muffler to take a peek at it. I didn't have an appointment and they said they were short handed. They took my car in anyway. They had my car on the lift for about 20 minutes. When I got my car back, the man jokingly said I don't hear a tapping, meaning he had fixed the problem. Turned out the car had a metal plate underneath and the bolt holding it together was stripped. When I asked how much I owed them, the man said no charge today. Wish I had got his name. He sure made my day. for that I say THANK YOU. read more

The service was terrible. I pulled in, with three small children, on an eight hour trip home. I had a slow leak in my tire, and asked for it to be looked at. With a cigarette in his mouth, with myself and my three small children there, he simply filled the tires with air, and said I was good to go. He never even checked for the leak. We ended up stopping 2 hours away and needing to spend the night in a hotel, so it could be fixed in the morning. We are lucky we did not have a blow out on the way home. Very careless service and lack of concern for public welfare. Do not go here if anything is wrong with you car, and you care about being safe. read more

I just had to get emissions tested to complete my NYS inspection and took it Monro Cobleskill. They took it into the back and the few minutes turned into over an hour's wait. When I finally pushed them for my car they told me it needed $700 in brake work or they wouldn't give me the sticker - hence my car would be uninspected. (my 10 day had expired) I was from out of town and they knew it. They got me good. Steer clear. read more

On a Saturday in August 2016 I was visiting friends when I had a transmission line hose which went into the radiator pop out. It was leaking transmission fluid and, not wanting to burn it out, I called for a flatbed truck. The only somewhat-nearby shop that was open on Saturday was this Monro shop so we took it there. I was told that they were backed up with customers and probably couldn't get to it until the next day (Sunday), which I understood, given that I just brought it in without an appointment. The next morning, I was called and told I needed a new radiator, as the transmission coolant line was yanked out of the radiator and the fitting was beyond repair. As it was Sunday, they could not get the part till the next morning, so I would have to wait another day and they would have it ready for me by about 10 A.M. the next day. When I called the next day (Monday), they said they couldn't get to me until the afternoon because they had a bunch of appointments to attend to (yeah, but my car was already waiting in your garage). I got it in the afternoon and had to travel 170 miles home. Ten miles into my trip, my transmission warning light went on and the lower gears were really rocking. I had to get home for work and white-knuckled the rest of the drive. On Tuesday, I decided to check the transmission fluid and I could find none in there. I thought maybe it might be low because it was now circulating through the transmission, but I decided to schedule an appointment at my local official Honda Dealer to look into the transmission warning light issue for the next day. I left it at Honda on Tuesday, and they said they would hook it up to their diagnostics ($120) and they called me to say that there was no transmission fluid in my car. As there was no apparent leak, it appeared that the mechanic at Monro had apparently forgot to refill the transmission with any fluid. They said I was very lucky they did not destroy my entire transmission but that they could not guarantee it's condition going forward. Is there a 0 Star review? read more
