The front desk is always cheerful and happy and most importantly, answer the phone almost immediately. They don't make you wait long to get into a room for your appointment and the waiting room is tended to and clean. Both doctors we saw for our dog were very nice and you can tell they genuinely care. Just an overall great place. I'm happy we found a nice new spot for our aging doggo. Only bad thing was the cost of dental work (we got an estimate) but that's going to be a hit no matter where you go I guess.

At the visit I asked if he would be making an incision to remove the plug/material causing the Bumblefoot and the Vet said that it does not always work so they prescribed an Antibiotic Clavamox for 10 days. I called the vet office a week later because I was concerned after a week of the Antibiotic it wasn't getting better (In fact it was getting more swollen, turning color, and hot to the touch). The receptionist told me they would have the vet call me. I called again days later and was put on hold for several minutes, when the receptionist returned, she told me the vet wasn't in and said, "For it to be only 3 days, that's pretty good". I did not keep a future follow-up appointment and located another Vet because I didn't want to wait more days until the appointment and since Trumbull wasn't getting back to me. Besides the lack of caring and returning my call, other issues concerned me about the initial visit 1) I had my Hen's foot wrapped, and they never rewrapped it where the open wound was. 2) They told me we could not eat her eggs while on the Antibiotic, but it was okay to feed to the other hens. Which makes no sense since they would be getting traces of Antibiotics. 3) I also got different answers on the withdraw period before we could eat the eggs. The Vet said 4 weeks, yet the nurse later told me 60 days. The other Vet I found said I was right to be concerned because her Foot was at an elevated level 3 stage and the low dosage of Clavamox was not going to help her because of the stage she was at. The other Vet performed an incision to remove the infection and prescribed a stronger prescription and followed up with me (at no cost) asking for pictures and her overall condition. Trumbull animal hospital still hasn't returned my calls and through emails I sent they only defend their approach. Never asking how my Hen's foot looked now and was more concerned about me not keeping the future appointment. I strongly feel Trumbull Vet doesn't provide the care/medicine/follow up care one would demand of their pet, it shouldn't matter if it's a Hen, Dog or Cat. All should get high-quality care.

I visited a few other vet hospitals in the monroe area who were not willing to talk to me about my dog because they were rude and because of the pathetic and overzealous COVID restrictions. I then went to a pet store in Trumbull and the worker recommended that I go to the Monroe Town and Country Veterinary Hospital on Route 25. I went there next and met Dr. David Basak-Smith who was kind, intelligent, and understanding. He gave me an appointment as soon as possible to examine my dog and found that he was suffering from Lyme disease. Excellent find! After this we treated my dog with medication and he is back to normal! This is the best veterinary hospital in the area. Dr. Basak-Smith is also a military veteran and he should get your business first anyways. This place is highly suggested by me and you should tell your friends too.

Prescribed multiple pills. Fast forward 2 weeks- things are critical, much worse; brought her back in. Redid tests, we were told all was fine.
