You can't find a vet more compassionate and kind than Dr Dan. The office is awesome, clean, fast, accommodating. Stuff are very sweet. When we moved to Easton, during a repair in the house our dog run out and got attacked by a bypassing dog. She was bleeding. I called our regular vet and they said they can't see us that they and tried to schedule for another day. I googled the closest vet to me and rushed there, walked into their very busy schedule. They didn't know us or our dog yet. They took immediate care. I will never forget. Only a vet who loves and cares for animals try would do that. I am so thankful. Dr. Dan is amazing! We went another vet for years. They truly let us down when we needed help finding out what was wrong with our boy. We visited an area emergency vet who wouldn't schedule an appt with a specialist for over a month out. I kept returning and was told, "He was stable" and they had no concern with his rapid weight loss over the past few months. A few people suggested I call Dr. Dan. Annikki took my call and listened empathetically. She scheduled Fisher for that afternoon. She told me to call her if we needed him to be seen asap. Dr. Daniel Whalen, D.V.M. -- Vet Care from the Heart I can't say enough about my experience with Dr. Daniel Whalen and his staff. First, when my daughter lived in New York City and visited us, she brought her cat, Gemini (Gemi), with her to our house in Easton. I called Dr. Whalen's office to inquire if he could perform Gemi's routine exam while they were here. I figured it would help alleviate my daughter's stress of navigating the busy streets of NYC with a hysterical kitty in tow to a routine vet's appointment. The office agreed with my reasoning and, thankfully, accommodated us and scheduled a somewhat last-minute appointment. Don't get me wrong, Gemi was still a nervous wreck, but Dr. Whalen and staff provided a stress-free visit for everyone else! In addition, the doctor was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive to our needs. We are now happy to call him "Gemi's go-to doctor" whenever he visits. Second, the sudden end-of-life turn of my friend's 18-year-old cat, Sam, was heartbreaking. Sam had been ailing for months, and, in the end, my friend didn't have enough time to drive him to his regular vet. When faced with my last-minute request, Dr. Whalen's office went above and beyond to make room for Sam. Dr. Whalen and his staff faced a difficult situation when it came to euthanizing poor Sam, but their professional and compassionate demeanor helped everyone through the process. Dr Whalen and Aniki are only two people. They are woefully understaffed, don't respond quickly, and I have found them to not be particularly skillful or knowledgeable. What if you need them in an emergency? Aniki is not a vet but spoke like one. Dan completely missed an obvious problem with one dog. I don't expect perfection, but I do require the ability to contact an office and have some follow up other than voicemail tag. I don't write many reviews, typically, only when service is particularly bad, or companies are non-responsive. These people make me think I should become a vet, as the competition would be very easy to out-class. Starting with answering the phone. Finally, anyone in business should know that alienating a customer means a cascading effect of future lost business, not only mine, but future referrals. read more

On Thanksgiving Eve, I could not locate a vet to look at my very sick cat. The Vet we have used for 19 years could not see him so, we searched for someone who could and found Dr. Dan. Little did we know, we were seeing an incredible MD. In short, immediately he was willing to see my cat and provide a great level of care. He and the staff were friendly, available and answered 100 questions with a smile. And this includes him personally answering the phone twice in the past week. When does that ever happen with any MD? Never. He diagnosed my cat and provided many options for treatment without breaking the bank. His only focus was on making him feel better and get him on a path to recovery. I want to thank him and the staff for being there for us at the worst of times. I was happy with Dr. Dan and his practice until they sent me an email saying they do not feel they are the right fit for us and are closing our account. I called immediately and they would not take my call or call me back to discuss. We found this EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL, especially considering our puppy was scheduled to be spayed in four days' time. We had a lot of communication--mostly via phone (and Anniki took a lot of time to chat and in no way expressed we were taking up too much of her time)--right before this because our puppy had a GI issue, and while at the office I questioned whether we needed to schedule the spay immediately since she was 7 months old. They recommended it be done asap. Our issue was that we were going on a trip and my mother (who is near 80 and never owned a dog) was watching her. Because of this stress, I mentioned--very nicely!--that I would have appreciated the front desk scheduling this at the previous appointment, like they did for follow-up vaccines, so it would have been done at 6 months. In no way was I rude. I agree that they are not the right fit for us--we are at Southport Vet now and very happy, as they are extremely professional and clinical and thorough. A good way to describe the difference is Southport wears scrubs while Dr. Dan is in a hoodie--we are scrubs people. HOWEVER, Easton could have easily spoken to us about their issues in a kind and humane manner instead of an abrupt email leaving us hanging--and panicking! Very thoughtless of them. read more

What happened Dan? Big promises of filling Mitch's shoes as a small town vet and then this. We had an appointment at 6:00pm. We rolled in and were told our appointment was at 4:00 in addition to that you were out sick. Hannah was rude and annoyed we were there. She said they'd called. No one called as we were waiting around for the appointment. Chris says he'll do the shots but we can't be in the room. Hell no. Hannah says it's been crazy so they haven't been answering the phone or listening to messages. She later said I was right that the appointment was at 6:00 when she looked up the email from Rebecca. She promised that Anika would call me the next day. It's been a month and 3 more voicemails with no call backs. My family has been with Easton Vet since 1988. This is not a small town vet. Not on call, no care for helping animals in crisis, only pushing the latest high margin scrips when it's convenient to answer the phone. I can't even get them to send me our records. Hands down, the best veterinarian I've ever seen! My dogs trusted him immediately, and they are usually hyper in the office and wary of the vet, but not here: Dr Whalen ("Dr. Dan") got down right to their level and, within a few minutes, gained their trust. He's an excellent diagnostician, even for complex problems, and doesn't try to sell you on medication or procedures you do not need. But there's other reasons I liked him personally: first, he was very direct, with good listening skills, and respectful of my time (he emphasizes adhering to his appointment times, I think this is the first time in a veterinary office that has ever happened). Second, the bill was very reasonable (something else that's hard to find lately). But the real reason for this review is that Easton Veterinary feels like an upbeat place, a place I will look forward to visiting. Annikki, who manages the office and greets you at the front desk fully aware of your dogs' history and why you are visiting, would brighten anyone's day (how often do you meet a person at the front desk that knows anything at all about your pets?). And "Dr. Dan" and Annikki are a great team, they run this clinic together like clockwork; you can tell that the health and well being of their "clients" (the pets) are important to them. All in all, Easton Veterinary is a place is look forward to returning to, I am sold! Has the bedside manor of a grave digger, and the personality of some one standing with one foot in a bucket of crap. He treated our small dog with so many medications, I didn't know if the animal was sick, or over medicated to death. Our poor pet finally had a stroke and was unable to eat or walk and knew no one. He still wanted to treat the poor animal with more pills, just so he could fill his wallet on our grief. Do your pet a loving favor, please seek an accomplished and caring vet else where. read more

Over the past 33 years, we have used this doctor. We have found him to be caring and sensitive to the needs of our animals. The doctor has treated our pets as if they were members of his own family. Our cats and dogs have seen the doctor for routine visits as well as emergency visits. One Friday evening, one of our dogs was hit by a car. Instead of sending us to an emergency clinic, the doctor told us to bring the dog to his office. He took great care of him and called us several times to let us know the status of the dog's condition. He removed a cancerous growth from my dog, who now is 16 years old. He would never take advantage of his patients. The doctor has a quiet and thoughtful demeanor. He truly cares for his patients and their families. read more
