I moved from Connecticut to Georgia 9 years ago and have been desperately looking for decent pizza. You know it's bad when you fall back on the familiarity of chain pizzerias. I finally found what I was looking for in Monroe Pizzeria & Eatery. The service is impeccable, with our server checking in regularly. The atmosphere is friendly. We were there for lunch so not much of a drinking crowd. It might be louder in the evening. Now to the star of the show - the pizza. The crust is a little thicker than the traditional NY thin, more like Connecticut. But the taste was perfect. The sauce is bright with a good zing. And the toppings were *chef's kiss*. We had mushrooms, char and cup pepperoni, fresh ricotta, banana peppers and black olives. Absolutely delicious! I'd give more than 5 stars if I could. read more

The food was great, the atmosphere was fun, but the service was HORRIBLE. Our server, Stacy, was rude the entire time and added a side order of fries to our order when someone ordered them with their chicken tenders. When they came out, we told her we didn't order them separately, and she said the chicken tenders didn't come with fries. Thirty seconds later, she comes out with three orders of chicken tenders, all of which include fries. When we asked her to remove it from the bill, she became belligerent and argued that we hadn't told her about it. Really unfortunate experience. read more

Walked in, everything was clean and bright, ordered sandwiches and pizza, both were graded at a 10 out of 10 by our table of 3. Server continually checked on us and keep our glasses full. Plan on watching the UGA game there again tomorrow, plenty of tables and tv's. read more

In the past I found this very great pizza. Not now. I got a large pizza to go tonight. The cheese was plentiful at least, but absolutely 0 flavor. No seasoning at all. They've finally opened! We moved to Monroe in 2022 and always wondered what happened to the old pizza place on Broad Street (COVID, I suspect). Then! Someone bought the place and began to renovate--we met them as they handed out flyers at a Fall event. It would be a Rochester, NY-based father/daughter team. Well we finally got to the recently opened shop for a Friday lunch in mid-December 2023 and we're not disappointed! We ordered the Pesto Napolitan with fountain drinks and it was hot, savory, fresh, and oh so satisfying. Simple, yet profound. Pizza like this is just as it should be... why is it that so many shops can't do it right? They can! And the place was steadily busy. I'd only ever had the chance to peek in the windows, but it's sneakily roomy inside. The family is friendly and "Dad" has a great, 'I'm supposed to be retired' vibe that is very winsome. New location and it was a Friday. 6pm. We got our pizzas at 738pm, the house and a pepperoni. Nevaeh was our waitress. She was nice but was out of her league. Had to flag her down twice because she never came to check on us. Food was coming out of the kitchen and going back from several orders. We sat at table#1 and I could see everything. We wanted them boxed since it took 98 minutes for two pizzas. By the way, no options for the kids. Got home and the house pizza has no sauce. $61. Take your pizza and business and go back to NJ/NY. We haven't been here since they changed ownership- and little Sicily was horrible. So we went on a youth support night and we're still highly disappointed in the food. Self service ordering at the counter and walk to pick up style with dine in seating. We ordered a large pizza, Caesar salad and two pastas. Pricing is a too costly for what you get-$20 for pasta with added veggies, and not even a full cup worth on it. It's hard to hear your name called when the place is full- so we missed two parts of our order for a while. Pizza was greasy and lacked flavor in the crust. The fettuccine Alfredo sauce was runny and would be better with a stronger garlic base. The plain Italian bread served with the pasta should be switched out for a single slice with garlic butter/butter. Several small changes could well improve the food here. Won't be back. read more
