Just inside the store you find a statue of a lion holding a shield, a statue of Elvis, and a third statute of Marilyn Monroe in her famous skirt scene. I am unsure what this has to do with a supermarket. I then walked into the actual market and was surprised at how much smaller it looks than in the website. I also discovered as I began exploring that its "international" designation is a bit overstated. It does have food from one or two European countries but its mostly hispanic and really mostly Mexican. Was i a bit disappointed? Yes. That said, i did find a lot of food that my culture also loves in here that overlaps. Firstly, i found actual green plantains! Usually in the supermarkets near my home they sell plantains but they are rarely green. To be able to fry some up and have tostones! Yes!!!!! I also found other products my family and I would love including plantain chips, malta, yuca, tamales, Jamaican patties, and croquettas. The croquettas were of the frozen variety and sadly only in chicken, i prefer ham. I was also very happy when I found Pineapple Nectar for my mom. She loves the stuff and hasn't had any since we moved! So i did end up buying quite a bit when I came here and i will likely come back again. I hope they continue to expand what they have available for sale here, though.

This store is nicely arranged, with attractive displays at the end of every aisle. Every time I shop at Fresh Market I end up trying something new. So many unique food items to try. They have a variety of different things that you find they have been cleared out of inventory at box stores. Overall, if you go in with a lowered expectation, you'll actually have a fun shopping experience. For example, on my first visit, I found violin strings that were selling for two dollar a box when they normally run $20. Now I have enough violin strings that will last until they finish playing musical instruments.
