After placing our order, the filter was installed within 2 days, which they recommended a cartridge filter versus the Hayward sand filter and my pool has never looked so clean and clear. Our pool was installed in June 2017 by Monster Pools. A little over a year afterwards, our pool began draining, and all of the plaster cracked throughout. Our pavers (also installed by Monster) started sinking into the ground. Monster Pools took three weeks to come out and take a look at the pool, by which time the pool was almost completely empty. They immediately told us that they would need to send an engineer to take some soil samples. After they did this, they stopped contacting us. When we contacted them every couple months, they basically would tell us that it wasn't their issue Even though we have a warranty with them, and are paying $450 a month for our swimming pool. Here is what we are now paying for. Please, unless you really enjoy spending thousands of dollars in legal fees, I would avoid this company like the plague. read more

I used them to install a new pool surface because they were nearby. What a mistake. Bad scheduling and no communication. I asked about the cost of installing some mosaics in the pool and they quoted me a price but after I bought the mosaics they said they wouldn't install them unless I bought them from them, but they didn't have what I wanted. They promised 3 months of follow up service but I never heard from them again. As for the pool surface, it is barely satisfactory. The color is uneven and splotch. hello I am forced to write a review after 16 long months dealing with Billy Parr and monster pool company, they continually say they will be on site to finish the job then they are a no show , it usually takes a couple nasty emails to get any movement, they have been working on this project for 16 months now much longer than the 90 days sign to swim claim , If for some Reason you do decide to go with them ( I highly recommend that you don't) be sure To watch out for changes in the contract.. and verify all of there measurements..Im writing this review with out going into the many red flags I should have caught on too in the very beginning .. Its always a Red flag when a contractor shows up in a new truck days after a stage pmt, but then seem to always be out of town or on another job .. I was out of town for several of the months during this project.. and my property was used as a parking lot for dump trucks and cement mixers that was not being used, the job sight was typically messy , as of writing this review The project is still incomplete... 16 months in...and was informed project manager is out of town again.. What a nightmare. Horrible customer service. Horrible communication. I wanted high end travertine and we got shoddy crap material and their sub did a HORRIBLE job laying it down. No pride of workmanship from the stone sub at all. They had to come back and try to fix it and it's so bad it still looks like crap. The travertine is already falling apart and it hasn't been a year. We're older. They built the steps so high we have trouble getting in and out. When I said something about it, the project mgr shrugged and said it was "code". Well maybe MAX height code, but if they cared about their client at all they would have made access easier without being asked. Two old people with bad knees and they make excuses instead of building it for the client. Miserable company. Whenever we tried to get info or had a complaint about a sub, the owner never took responsibility. The owner tried to get away with providing a hockey puck to manage our pool, but the contract said we were to get an app for our phone. One of his employees had to convince him to give us what we paid for. Our pool was finally finished in January this year. Recently we caught the owner in our back yard. Never knocked on the door. Just walked in our back yard without so much as a by your leave and started taking pictures....of our SPA which he had nothing to do with. Trespassing. Any bad review and he tries to blame the customer. We were really patient for a long time, but his project manager, who is now retired, actually retired long before he left the job. You know the type. What a nightmare. I do love our pool. The sales person did a wonderful design job and it looks beautiful. But the process and dealing with this company was painful. We had several companies quote our pool build and it came down to Monster or Palo verde. We went with monster because we really liked the sales person. Funny now as that sales person now works for Palo Verde. We made a bad choice choosing Monster Pool. There customer service stinks and once you sign the contract it gets worse dealing with the person in charge of the build. We started our pool in may/june of 2020 and were told even with Covid it should be done in 16 weeks at the latest. It took 32 weeks and it wouldn't have been so bad except there was no communication. When you called or texted they didn't respond and when they finally did the made you feel like you were bothering them. Also there sub contractors are not good and are rushed at everything they do. More than once they were at our job and they were pulled on multiple occasions to go work on other jobs. The ones who layed the travertine did not pack the base enough and now we have a lot of uneven tiles as it settles. They just don't care as the owner of monster will say they did a great job and blame the customer . There is so much more but will wait for the owners response. If we could give no stars it would be more than they deserve. As you also see the owner will respond to these customer issues but the customer is always the problem. If you want a company that will take your project personally and stick to it until a 5-star job is done, then Monster is the company. I have called and texted her, I have called the main office MULTIPLE times to get rendering, bid, quote, ANYTHING. I was warned by a few people of their shitty communication.... Buyers beware. If you are going to spend $40k+ of your extremely hard earned money... Don't waste your time on a company that has the communication skills of a toddler. This same thing happened to a personal friend of mine, only she actually used them!! Half way through the build, the communication came to a halt. I can't speak to the products of the pool company, but I can speak to the employees. On 1/16/2021, my husband and I visited the Lowes which is right next door to their location at 13277 W. McDowell Road. The loading zone for Lowes is right outside their store. We bought some very heavy wood and were in the loading zone area loading our wood. Because we had a truck and trailer, our truck reached and was parked in front of their store. We were over to the right of the drive so there was room between our truck and the sidewalk area. All of the sudden a small gray pickup came flying up going really fast, pulled between our truck and the sidewalk and slammed on his brakes about 10 feet away from hitting my husband who was standing there. The man got out and started cussing us out, using profanity, screaming that we cannot park in front of his business. He said "this is my business". We asked if he was the owner and he would not respond. At one point, a women came out of the pool store saying "Rob, come in side. Rob, stop!" When we finished getting our wood in the trailer, we then moved out to the parking lot to tie down. Obviously, this employee has anger management issues. I will be trying to contact the "real" owner of this store to let him know of our experience and I will NEVER use this company and I will tell everyone I know NEVER to use this company. The absolute worst pool company in town! Not only did they insult me on a very personal level. I hired them to drain and clean my pool, which they did. But, after they left, my pool heater no longer worked. When I talked to them about it, they not only refused to take responsibility, but made insulting comments directly at me. I had to replace my pool heater, and now use Litchfield Park Pool Company for all my pool needs. They do an amazing job and have never said anything foul to me. read more

Monster Pool is a bit hit and miss. A number of different people have cleaned our pool, some better than others. They are never consistent on the day of the week they show up and definitely not consistent about what day they bill my card. Sometimes it's the 5th, sometimes the 12th, sometimes the 20th. They left my back gate open and my dog got out (as we didn't know the gate was open after they left). We had to leave at least 5 (no exaggeration there) phone messages to get a quote on our broken pool light. I will say that our pool has not gone green since they started cleaning, so that is something (oh wait, that's what they get paid for!) but there is nothing extraordinary about them. UPDATE: The day after I gave them 3 stars for "A-OK" they dropped me as a customer. nice. read more

This company builds beautiful pools but their customer service leaves much to be desired ( in other words their customer service sucks). I was having minor issues with my pool so I called the builder since my pool is still under warranty, the owner told me he would come by around 12 and didn't show up till 5, he said he was going to check the chemistry which results I never saw and said the pool needed to be drained and he would send Randy to drain it ( Randy is awesome by the way ). 2 e mails, 3 calls and seven days later with a nasty attitude he tells me that he never said anything about draining the pool and that the cost to drain the pool is $150. Mr Parr, I don't mind paying for what ever work you need to do but don't tell your customers you are going to do something and fail to deliver. Then he tells me at another time that he is showing up at around 4 pm and his arrival time was 6:30 and once again with a nasty attitude tells me I need to replace my filter cartridges, I'm sorry but isn't the equipment still under warranty? I called Hayward and within 2 days my filter cartridges were replaced. Beautiful pool, horrible customer service. After my pool was completed I recommended him to 3 of my neighbors who also had their pools built by monster pools so I expected a little gratitude and better service and I got the short end of the stick. They build a very nice pool but their customer service isn't good at all. I still have about a year and a half left on the warranty, I'll follow up to see if their service improves. read more

After a few weeks of inadvertent neglect my pool was in dire straits. On the recommendation of a friend I gave Monster Pool Company a try and I couldn't have been happier with the recommendation. First - the staff was awesome. I came in with some sample water and a brief description of the state of my pool and they were extremely helpful and nice. I was given several options for fixing the pool ranging from the cheapest (but most labor-some) to the most expensive (the easiest to implement). I really appreciated the honest recommendations - they clearly weren't trying to maximize the sale but instead give me an honest assessment of how to fix my pool. That's just one of many advantages to going to a family-run store and not a chain (evidently the owner is local born and raised). My pool quickly transformed after implementing their suggestion and I've been going back ever since (each visit as good as the first). Monster Pool Company builds a beautiful pool. We just had our pool constructed by them. I am very happy with the pool, and the friendliness of everyone we talked with. The product is well built, and our backyard is beautiful. Since our pool was finished in October of this year (2017) there has not been much swimming, but I sit on my patio every night with the pool light on and enjoy my backyard. My only criticism of this company would be the communication. Sometimes I would be expecting someone to be at the house and they were not there, however Billy (the owner) is going to get a new project manager and that should help with the issue. Overall, I think Monster Pool Company is a very good company. We had quotes and pool designs from three different pool companies, and while Monster Pool was not the cheapest, it was the best. Monster Pool Company has a great sales pitch, however when your are done handing off your final payment of the pool the customer service is none existence. We have texted, called, showed up to the store to request the tiles on and around our pool and hot tub to be fixed multiple times to only get excuses and still our tiles on our hot tub and pool have not been fixed. read more

Don't use this Pool Company. I contracted them to Clean my pool and place a lock on the gate on 1 October. I paid for the month in advance. They knew I was not in the home but assured me they were come on the next day, Thursday and place the Combo/Key Lock on Gate, clean pool and leave a maintenance card indicating dates. This was to be done every Thursday. I returned to my house on 9 October and the same Blue Plastic Cap that I planted in the pool was floating in the pool , there was no lock on the gate or maintenance card. The Filters were full of leaves When confronted they said the lock did not fit so they were looking for one, and that the pool service date had changed. We parted ways and they refunded me but I would never recommend them to anyone. Not to be trusted. read more

Called Bill many times and just think job was not what they were looking for, some easy quick cash...go elsewhere....6 months later the owner replies....defensive posture as are all of his other replies.... William says "This could not be further from the truth. We work very hard to make our customers happy. We have been in business for 15 years in the valley and have a wonderful reputation. One of the few pool construction businesses that survived the market crash in 2007 and continues to complete nice projects." ....I guess he's just calling me a liar then. I like working with small businesses and have used Monster Pools since moving to Goodyear. I took water in to be tested and they said the Cyanuric Acid was low. It has never been low so I questioned the reading. She was positive it was low and sold me 4 lbs of chemicals to raise the acid level. I went home and tested it and it was high. Took it to Leslie's and they confirmed it was high. Took the chemicals back and Monster Pools would not refund my money even though it was their mistake. When I said I'd take my business elsewhere. The reason why I did it under her name is because i didn't have the Yelp app but as you can see I have it now, he also told me he hates customers who complain like me. Maybe 20 mins at best! I have the texts to prove it. I was the one calling u asking if u were still coming u did not call us first. The first time u came by regarding the issues with our pool u took a water sample and said u were going to ur office to test it, you were here literally 10 minutes and I never got any results! I never received a follow up call from u asking if our pool was doing any better. We did not leave the pool unattended for 6 wks! I don't know where u got that from but we were on vacation for 10 days and we shocked the pool before leaving and the filter was still running automatically daily. We were cleaning our fileters every other week since then and still having issues. The problem was the faulty filters which have been replaced by Hayward not thanks to you. The 2nd time U were 2 hrs late that's why I was not here so u are correct but I was only gone 30 mins so u were not here 2 hrs that time either. Once again, I have the texts to prove it. Ur the one twisting ur words. I expect attitude like that from the employees who don't care about the business but never from the owner. This problem would've been solved so easily by you actually checking the equipment finding out the cartridges were cracked and needing replacement under the warranty and everybody would be happy right now. Do not try to reply with lies because like I said, I have the phone call recorded as well as all our texts. If you want to talk like a civilized normal human being and mend the builder/customer relationship I'll be happy to meet and talk otherwise I'm sure 3 on your side will have a parade with this story. May be great if they are building a pool for you. But if you are a neighbor, they are friggin slobs. Over the past couple months I have had workers sleeping in my yard, eating lunch and leaving wrappers, plastic bottles and food debris on my side yard and driveway. I had to put a lock on my water spigot because workers were filling their plastic gallon jugs from my house. I have washed hard boiled eggs off my driveway twice. They are disrespectful of property, as I have had rocks, cement and other debris constantly in my yard and driveway. I have had to wash down their dirt and other crap constantly. Wouldn't be so bad if they would actually clean it up at the end of the day. Today they brought in many loads of rock, again put in front of my house, not the one they are working at. They trample my yard as they push their wheel barrows of rock across my yard, again not the yard they are working on. Their skid steer leaving black marks all over the sidewalk. At the end of the day, neighbors yard looked good, damage to my yard was not repaired and looked like a disaster zone. I always work under the idea that you leave something the same or better than the way you started. Monster Pool seems to not give a crap. I am only posting this as two previous calls about their crap went un-returned. Do you think it would be ok for me to walk into their place there on McDowell and drop rocks, gravel and sand all over their floor...do you think they would care if I sat in one of the isles and ate my lunch, leaving food behind on the floor. I contracted with Monster Pool Co on January 3 to build a pool, fireplace, barbeque island and pergola. The pool was dug on January 27 and all components were finished up on May 5 except for a few small details. They did a beautiful job!!! Admittedly I am a perfectionist and I have to tell you their workmanship leaves no opening for complaint. In some respects, they even went above and beyond the contract. Management and crew were all very pleasant to work with, attentive to my concerns and accommodating. While there were some delays along the way, the finished product was well worth waiting for. My back yard is now an oasis retreat! I would highly recommend Monster Pool Company. read more

Went by their store to talk with someone about building a pool. Meet their sales person and he set up an appointment with us to talk about our design. Meet him at our house, all went well. He told us he would get back with us in one week with our design...he did not. I called him a week and half later to see where he was, he talked everything up again and said he would meet us at 2pm on a Wednesday. He never showed and I have not heard from them since. Jeff was pretty good on the sales side. He helped us pick out a good pool design and was responsive with the estimate and options. Monster got off to a good start with the permits and escavation work but it died a quick death after that. In my opinion their supervisor Randy is not qualified to manage the digging of a ditch let alone a pool. They were unable to line up workers in an orderly fashion and my pool build that was quoted at 6 weeks in duration ended up taking 18 weeks instead. Randy would never return my calls and event attempts to reach the owner Billy through their office went unanswered. At one point 3 weeks went by without a single worker showing up. My backyard was torn up and unusable the whole time because they don't clean up anything until the very end. Unless you have unending patience and an unlimited timeline I'd recommend going with someone else. I have a few grey hairs after this experience. read more

Late last year we discovered we had a major problem with our existing pool and pool decking. A previous owner of the home had remodeled the pool incorrectly causing rain water to drain back towards the house and seep inside ruining our floors. I ultimately interviewed 4 companies to get their opinions on how to resolve this highly complex situation. What started as simple project of potentially inserting new drains quickly escalated to the majority of the existing deck and pool were going to need to be ripped out and rebuilt in some fashion. One company who I spoke with admitted they had no idea how they would fix it and took themselves out of the mix. I had another company actually START the project and then essentially quit after discovering a lot more work was involved. (They quoted me an exorbitant amount to basically get me to fire them and told me "good luck with this"). The third company told me the entire pool needed to be reshaped and resurfaced with new pebble tech etc. As a last ditch someone recommended Monster Pool to me. I called them and explained I had a difficult situation and other companies did not know how to handle it. The owner himself came out to investigate the scenario. From the minute he looked at the issue he was helpful and passionate about helping me fix the problem with causing the least amount of reworking the current pool. He was ten times more confident and knowledgeable about what was causing the the problem than all of the others and quickly developed a solution and a proposal to resolve it. The other companies did not want to tackle this project unless they could basically rebuild my entire backyard for six figures. Monster Pool worked with what I had in place and almost took it as a personal challenge to help me through this unfortunate problem. The quality of work they do is second to none. They turned my pool area from a disaster area into an oasis without even replacing the pebble tech in my pool and all drainage issues are gone. Any tiny issue I've had here or there they come out and make right no questions asked. Monster Pool is the way to go for your new pool or remodel. I would recommend them to anyone. I needed expertise for my project and I received not only that but thousands in savings over what other companies were recommending I spend. read more
