My husband and son had THE BEST Alaskan King Crab legs while we came here for vacation. What a lovely restaurant! We came here with a party of 6 and ALL of us loved our food! The waiter was top notch! Great service!

The food was delicious. The Bouillabaisse special had a very flavorful broth and the Aji tuna stirfry was also tasty. Cocktails were well done and service was spot on.

Montauk seafood grill has been on my list of dining destinations to check out while in Vail for some time and it was worth the wait. As a pescatarian I'm excited to have an upscale quality seafood restaurant conveniently located in Lions head Village. My partner and I came for a romantic dinner on a snowy Thursday evening in March. The ambience is bright but cozy, with appropriately themed art work decorating the space. Our server was super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and gave great recommendations. We started with the crab salad appetizer which had abundant crab and a delicious sauce for dipping. We also had the basket of sourdough which was perfectly crusty and warm. For our entrees we split the Ahi Tuna - their signature dish for a reason. It was perfectly seared and so tender it melted in your mouth, served over a crispy rice cake and julienne vegetables. We also split the swordfish which I thought was just ok. It was very tender hut lacked the meaty steak-like texture I prefer for swordfish. We did not save room for desert but the selections looked delicious. I will be back to check them out next time. Overall, great dining experience if you are looking for a special evening!

Casual ambiance and good service. The food delicious and fresh. The menu had many interesting dishes but I ended up with clam chowder soup and miso sea bass. Both were great dishes.

Our favorite restaurant so far in Vail! From the service to the food, everything was top notch! Brenn B was our server and awesome! Very attentive and down to earth. Service was wonderful! We sat on the patio which was perfect! I had stopped in earlier to see if we could get in early and on the patio but they were full, but the hostess remembered we wanted to sit outside and at our reservation time had a great table outside for us! We started with the calamari which was light and delish. The banana peppers were a fun addition! I had the ahi tuna and my husband had the sea bass, both wonderful! My kids both had pasta, but the kids menu was extensive and had some great options! (Steak, shrimp, salmon, king crab!) We actually debated going back again the next night but decided we needed to branch out

We visited Vail for a wedding and took the time to carefully review which restaurants to try. Montauk really stood out. Yes, Montauk in Vail! Don't miss this place. We started with the gazpacho and the wedge salad, followed by the salmon, lobster tail, and an addition of Dungeness crab. The sourdough bread was amazing. The only critique was the sides; the sticky rice and mashed potatoes were just okay. I would definitely come back here again. Ricky, our waiter, provided excellent service.

My kids eyes when he saw the crab legs!! So excited!

I took my 10 year old son here for a mom and son date as a reward after a doctor appointment in Edward's. We both had the Alaskan King Crab legs and they were absolutely delicious! I was pleasantly surprised at the sophisticated kids menu that offered healthy choices and balanced meals as an option. If I have to order any more chicken fingers & french fries or Mac & Cheese for my kids again, I'll lose it! He cleaned his plate and then we had the Key Lime Cheesecake that is to die for! Service was excellent. The Spicy Senorita cocktail made with Herradura Tequila was delicious with my meal and the Tito's Espresso Martini paired perfectly with the dessert! We sat in the bar area, watched the football game and enjoyed the casual setting. Montauk, "Where the Ocean Meets the Mountains" (I Love this!) was the perfect choice for us and we can't wait to go back!

Stopped in for dinner and found everything to be very good. We had the lobster tail, a NY strip (slightly tough), and a trio of sorbet for dessert. The lobster tail was excellent. The service was fine. I thought the prices were a bit high, but overall the meal was pretty good, and I'd go back again.

Great experience! Server, Rick, was super awesome! Attentive, professional and knew his seafood - especially the oysters! Food was excellent and we eat seafood all over the US. Oysters & Dungeness crab were fresh. Dungeness crab, sea bass and sword fish were all PERFECTLY cooked. I had a coconut drink, my daughter had the blood moon and my husband wanted a Stella but they didn't have any so he had a Colorado house draft paired perfectly with his crab. Sat by a door but we weren't cold at all. Warmly lit and large windows allowed outside Christmas lighting in. Hostess was also attentive. Happy holidays!

My wife and I went here during the Vail Beaver Creek restaurant week. I've wanted to come here for a long time because I love seafood. We started with the Restaurant Week special which was 6 oysters on the half shell with a glass of champagne. Our waiter Brian was very helpful when I asked about the four different oyster types they had. I went with his recommendations and was not disappointed. I don't remember what the types were but I was happy as a cl...oyster. For my entree, I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass and it was cooked perfectly. It had a nice crystal in it and the fish was SO good. My wife got a dish of sweet potato and apple as well as a small salad. Everything was very good. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and super attentive. He had great recommendations and was fun to chat with too. We had a great experience and would definitely go back. The prices are what you would expect from a high end seafood restaurant in Vail.

Cocktails: I've always loved their cocktails, so even if you don't have dinner here, you should at least check out the bar. I've never been disappointed in any drink I've gotten. Dinner: - Butternut baba ganoush: all the flavors of baba ganoush but with butternut squash, and the warm pita was great - Fire roasted tomato and chorizo soup: a bit on the thinner side, smoky, interesting - Buttermilk sea salt biscuit: rich, flaky, with extra butter, country ham, and red pepper jelly - Warm pimento cheese: I don't usually care for pimento, but their's is great with grilled bread. They also use this on their burger at lunch - Wood grilled octopus: nice wood fire flavor, great ham hock beans underneath, grilled avocado - Crispy brussels sprouts: interesting flavor with the grilled avocado sikil pak - Wood fired pork chop: tender, generously sized - Grilled cobia: wonderful warming pineapple coconut curry, charred pineapple, and fresnos for a kick - Seafood diavolo: very flavorful (my dad found it too salty), served over polenta Lunch items: - Fresh catch: Argentenian shrimp and polenta - like shrimp and grits, very flavorful - Grilled cheese and soup: always a good combo - Burger: we added the onion rings, which had a good kick to them They also had a really solid kids' menu, which I appreciate. Despite how busy they are, service is attentive, and the manager came by personally to check in, which was a nice touch. Food and drink pacing was also good despite it being packed. The restaurant is definitely number one at customer service and I loved how everyone worked together. Even though the restaurant was busy, we did not feel lost in the shuffle. It was clean and inviting. They offered an array of choices, so there would be something for everyone if you decide to dine here. The food was good, preparation and display were done carefully, but the taste was overall just ok. The appetizers we chose were Warm Pimento Cheese, which was mildly flavorful, but good, and Prime Beef Carne Apache, which had no flavor at all. The main courses we chose included a pork dish and a chicken dish. The chicken had great flavor, but was placed on a bed of potato wedges which were not all completely cooked through. We felt this took away from the overall dish. The accompanied sauce made with yogurt and poppyseed did not add any flavor to the dish. The pork dish had great flavor. The drinks accompanying the food were made well and tasty. The kids menu has an array of choices as well, and our choice of macaroni and cheese was a hit! We ended with a frozen snicker bar dessert that tasted exactly like a frozen snickers bar. Overall, we had a very nice evening and would definitely visit again.

It was so much more flavorful than the Slow Cooked Pork Shank, which was good, just bland for my taste and I typically think a lot of food we eat is over-seasoned. I had hoped the server would ask if anything was wrong with the dish after seeing so much of it left on the plate, but he didn't. Considering the quality, the prices were on the higher end. As anticipated, the place was gorgeous...with a slightly formal air. Given that it was in the Vail Village (near the ski slope), my husband was able to enter the place in his rugged ski suit. Despite the ambiance, it was a bit dead. I was disappointed with the lack of French music overhead...though maybe it was on so low, I didn't hear it? There were plenty of breakfast-brunch options, but on the menu, some items were noted as taking 20 minutes (which we didn't have time for!), so I was a tad bummed about that. In any case, my husband chose this Huckleberry Bacon French Toast, and I ordered the Maryland Crab Benedict. For drinks, we both just ordered plain coffee. As expected, the foods were good. I was more impressed with my husband's choice, this super-fancy french toast. Not only did it look amazing, it tasted spectacular! Mine was good, but disappointing at the same time. I really liked the Crab Benedict, but I only half-liked the side salad (basically just Arugula with a few Walnuts and Figs). The total bill for these items ran over 100 bucks... which, was to be expected in Vail. However, for such a pricey breakfast, I felt that I should have absolutely loved it...but it felt short of that. Overall, I just expected a bit more from this breakfast experience. Again, the decor was gorgeous, but the ambiance wasn't fully there (because of the lack of music?). Service felt a bit short-skimpy as well. Foods were good, but mine especially (Crab Benedict) felt a bit lacking. Let's just say that I've had Crab Benedicts as just as good for half the price...and with better sides. Maybe lunch or dinner experience is better here? In any case, am glad we checked out the place...but I doubt I'll choose it for breakfast again.
