Okay so visiting my best friend (from legit since like 3 years old) in vail. She lives here year round and this was my first time experiencing vail. I had been to bridge street bar at least 3!times besides tonight during the extent of my trip. I got to meet a lot of great people here at bridge street bar. Tonight was my last night in Colorado and we decided after a long line at shakedown, to come to bridge street bar and I had an awesome time. I ordered a round of beers for my best friend who was hosting me. I really wanted to make it up to her and her roommate for putting up with me for the last week while I was visiting beautiful Colorado. I have the credit card receipt for 6.74 in total including tax from the first bar I bought two bud lights from. My friends enjoyed their drinks and when it came time to refill those drinks I took it upon myself as the guest on my very last night in vail to give a little back to my hosts which were my best friend and her roommates for letting me stay with them. I went to the back bar this time Not expecting to have any issues. Well apparently there was an issue because the owner who was bartending the back bar had a super issue with the pricing and decided that locals should be charged less than visitors after I have Already been charged a certain price by the other bar (in the same building) @ 6.74 for two beers including tax - which I had a receipt for. He decided to charge me 10.00 which was so obviously a number he made up off the top of his head because after a little persuasion by myself he had changed the price to 8.00 for two beers. Which truth be told I'd have no issue paying if I had not already been charged only 6.74 for the last two bud lights. I offered to show Joe, the owner, my receipt I had received from the other bar for 6.74 for two bud lights.he showed no interest and became pretty aggressive in saying I owed him 8.00 for the two beers. Obviously, I was upset at the idea of being charged 1.26 more for the exact same product in the same establishment. I had tried to explain this rational and logical thought to Joe, the owner and bartender I was dealing with. He was dismissive, to say the least, and demanded the 8.00 for the now opened bud light bottles. NOPE- I don't think so! I do not deserve to be treated that way nor does anybody else regardless of whether you're a local or a visitor. I had never felt like less worthy or lesser in anyway for the way I look or where I lived before tonight. After visiting for a week I understood that people treat locals differently than visitors but the treatment I got from Bridge street bar was unethical and straight up rude - honestly ruined my experience and my perception of bridge street bar. I left the beer on the bar didn't pay and walked away. The owner then found me and escorted me out to explain to me "how things work here" after calling me stupid and rude along with a bunch of other things He was threatening to kick me out. The water works started going and it was a quick 180. Joe then offered to buy be a bud light on him and apologized for upsetting me which was actually really nice I just didn't think any of that needed to go down at all. My best friend who I was staying with had left her credit card there the other night. We had called and they were super sweet about informing us that it was there and it was a very easy pickup. Every time with the exception of the last time I had visited bridge street bar was great. No complaints at all. Tonight however, there seemed to be an issue about the pricing. Which super frustrates me because truth be told I have worked In the serving industry and would have easily tipped more than 30% of the total of 6.74. He would have gotten more than he asked for if he had just charged me accordingly. 1Oh well overall, typical club scene - expect to get humped by some super sweaty stinky dudes. Prepare to see drunk ugly bitches riding the disease infested stripper pole - & you may at some point get harassed by the owner. OH & almost forgot: there is a $5 cover but if you say no they let you in anyway? Or maybe that's just for locals or maybe if you pretend to be a local then you're good - basically I got shafted for telling the truth so straight up lie through your teeth at this joint and it should be smooth sailing - watch out for the piss and puke on the ground while you're at it! read more
