Quite literally the worst burger I've had as far back as I can remember--at leat 10 years. It was downright offensive, as if made by someone who's never actually eaten a burger before and only had the concept explained to them. First of all, it wasn't "smashed" as it was billed. Maybe they mean the squished up bun was smashed. Skating the line between meatball and UFO shaped, the burgers were absolutely obliterated on the grill. Idk, maybe they used a commercial dehydrator to dessicate the beef. The tomatoes on the burger were surprisingly stunning, flanked by a red onion slice so thick that it would need a steak knife. We stayed at The Hythe and it was convenient to eat at Revel Lounge. No braving the cold to go outside. The atmosphere was chill and friendly. Our server Sarah was sweet, explained things in detail, and looked in on us frequently. Everything we ordered was excellent: Grilled mahi mahi with fried rice & winter veggies. Lamb chop with mint puree, sautéed mushrooms, mashed potatoes, roasted carrots. Truffled shoestring fries yum. Some of the items could have used less salt, like the winter veggies and fries. Late dinner for two on Friday without a reservation. No ambiance. Very touristy and loud. Friendly hostesses. Kevin was a solid waiter but he acts off at times. Food and beverage come on time. Food was hot and fresh. If you are staying at the hotel this is a great choice when staying in as not much else near by. Cheesecake is a grand slam. read more

We were staying at the Hythe and decided to check out the restaurant on a chill Sunday! It was off season and a Sunday which probably accounted for how dead it was so it was a bit baffling that the reservation required a credit card up front and would have charged $25pp fee for no shows - as when we saw we were about the only patrons we would have left of not for the fee. The atmosphere was dead but food was great! Lovely cheese plates featuring local cheeses, a water melon salad, an eggplant veggie dish and grilled artichoke! Service was kinda a miss! The completely forgot one dish then included it on the bill along with the entire order from the party behind us! I imagine it's better in season but food and drinks were good! read more

We have enjoyed Revel Lounge with prior visits. Unfortunately, our visit yesterday was below expectations due to understaffing. Mitchell, the bartender, had a full bar and also had to act as server for all the tables in the restaurant. Mitchell worked so hard to serve our table & all others and had a great sense of humor while working under difficult circumstances. I would give Mitchell 5 stars for his hard work and service. I believe the understaffing was also a challenge in the kitchen as the food was not as good as with our prior visits. read more

Ok. This place. It has some good qualities. The best one being our waitress which was an absolute sweetheart so I just wanted to say that first and foremost. But the food...oh where do I start. We ordered the filet medium and a burger and it took an hour for our food. Hubby got his filet 10 minutes before I got my burger as well. Bread rolls? Don't recommend. Looks like paper. No good. The burger was not that great but it was edible and I loved the fries. There's also the issue of differing menus so the filet plate hubby ordered, didn't match. Thought he was getting whipped potatoes and asparagus but got a green paste with colorful cauliflower instead. When we asked the waitress about the menus, she did mention that there was an issue and that someone really needed to proofread these menus lol. At the end of the day, we would say that our waitress should be running the place because she was the one actually paying attention. This hotel is super crowded and it seems like there's just some things that need to be fixed. Maybe they will fix these things and they will be amazing in the future, but right now I will not recommend this place. read more

The place has a nice vibe, relaxing atmosphere and comfy chairs. There was a guy playing guitar (and flugelhorn) who wasn't all bad, though not exactly memorable. My wife wife had a drink called a Figgie Smalls, which I thought was terrible, but she drank it and smiled. My Jack Daniels on the rocks did not disappoint, it seldom does. We ordered something called the Revel Raclette Epicurean Experience which was neither raclette nor epicurean and not much of an experience. Raclette parties at our house is one of my wife's favorites, so maybe our expectations were to high. This however, was not anything like any raclette we've ever done. There was no cooking the food on a hot griddle and no melting the cheese. There was a finger bowl of melted cheese served with pickled veggies and a few chunks of over-cooked elk. We stayed at the Hythe during our trip to vail so naturally, we found ourselves going to revel basically every day for some apres ski drinks and snacks. They usually had live music which was great, the ambiance was dim and cozy, and the drinks were all delicious. The service was friendly, but the drinks did sometimes take a while to arrive. We tried a few food items here and everything was delicious as well. Some cocktails and a charcuterie board is the perfect post-ski pre-dinner vibe. Highly recommend! read more

I spent a lovely evening at Revel with some friends who were staying at The Hythe. We ordered a charcuterie board and wine to start. My favorite part was the honeycomb. Then for my entree I ordered the Colorado Trout and whipped potatoes and it was very good. I loved the ambiance of the restaurant and hotel. Our service was great and the manager of the restaurant made sure to check in with us and ensure we had a great dinner experience. I would love to come back! read more

We came to eat here on numerous occasions in the past two years. Their breakfast is pretty good. Although I have to say I was unable to cut through the pancake which was a part of their open buffet type of a set up. Selection is ample for breakfast. For lunch we had Colorado Mountain Trout which was very good, Elk Tenderloin which was ok. ( the steak knife was not provided) and server not particularly interested in that fact. Our teenager had a Truffle Pasta with grilled chicken which he loved. For dinner on a separate occasion we had trout again :). The mushroom carpaccio was dry. I do want to point out the mushrooms were fresh and of a great variety. Indeed the best mushrooms forest would offer :). The Wild Game Meatballs were the best! Highly recommend this particular dish. Although it was not clear what wild game was involved in the dish. The menu is quite limited. I ordered the Hythe Spritz and was told by the server that that drink was not available??? Mysteriously, the Hythe Spritz appeared on our bill at the end and we had to ask for it to be removed LOL read more

Located in the Hythe hotel Revel Lounge is brand new and has a nice modern space. Really cool spot to have a drink and warm up after being out in the cold all day. We really enjoyed both our drinks, the Hot buttered rum was one of the better hot cocktails I've ever had! The burger and fries were cooked well and exactly what you would hope for. My favorite was the lamb patty melt a unique dish with a bunch of flavor! The lamb was cooked just right and wasn't too gamey. Overall one of the better options for dinner in Lions Head. read more

Probably the nicest place you can get a drink at in Lionshead, but there are newness/still-figuring-it-out issues reminiscent of the restaurant abutting the bar which my group visited last year. There was far too much ricotta was in it; I was expecting it to be a modest amount but it was at least 80% ricotta and it wasn't even well seasoned. The flavors were really bland; it was quite disappointing. I found myself wishing I'd just stuck with the bread and pesto they brought because it was way better than my entree. Beautiful restaurant located in The Hythe Hotel in Vail. Revel offers several hand-crafted cocktails and Colorado-inspired cuisine. We ordered the Hythe Buger and Colorado Lamb Reuben. Both entrees came with a side of french fries. The burger was a typical burger, nothing fancy. It came with cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle and was served on a brioche bun with aioli sauce. The Reuben had swiss cheese, sauerkraut, caramelized onions, and of course it's served on delicious rye bread. I love a good Reuben sandwich and this one unfortunately fell short. We had no waitress assigned to us so after waiting 15 minutes we asked the hostess what was up. She apologized and after searching for a waitress, said that she can take our order. After ordering dinner, still no waitress so the hostess took our drink order. My wife's vegetarian dish was good - but my fish was dry and tasteless. 1/2 way thru my fish I asked the hostess (still no waitress) if it was really trout -so she checked with the manger. The manager came over to apologize they served me Halibut (don't order it - it's tasteless). He offered to cook a trout but my wife was already finished with her meal and I was not hungry enough to eat another fish so we declined. He offered a flourless chocolate cake but I don't really like those. So the bill came (hostess delivered, still could not find a waitress) and they still charged us for the trout they did not provide!
