Remedy Bar at the Four Seasons in Vail was such a lovely experience. The space itself felt light, airy, and relaxed. Such a relaxing but chic spot to enjoy a meal after being out in the mountains. Our waitress was not overbearing and gave us enough time between bites to take it all in. She also made sure we got the full experience with the hot chocolate to marvel at its glory! The food was excellent, but the butternut squash soup was truly outstanding. It had a beautiful natural sweetness with a subtle hint of apple that made the flavor feel layered and comforting, and the pepitas added the perfect little crunch. It was one of those dishes you keep thinking about after you leave. We also ordered the hummus, which tasted incredibly fresh and crisp, light, bright, and perfectly refreshing alongside the richer dishes. But the real star of the experience was the hot chocolate. It was absolutely decadent and comforting, easily one of the best cups of hot chocolate I've ever had. Rich, smooth, and the perfect treat in a snowy Vail setting. We were staying down the street from The Four Seasons and wanted to pop in for a drink after dinner at the Remedy Bar. We walked in and it appeared to be a quiet night, we could see the bar was pretty empty. The hostess asked if we were staying at the hotel and we said no, we were dropping by for cocktails and wished to sit outside. She told us we could sit inside at a couch area by the entrance. One of our friends walked through the bar and noticed the fire pit seating areas were available and asked a server if we could sit there instead. She looked at us and said she would have to ask the hostess if any were available. Clearly they were and they didn't want our group sitting there for some reason. The bar was practically empty so not sure what the issue would be, perhaps it was because we were not hotel guests. After not getting back to us we just sat ourselves outside. Our server was Nivas. Nivas was not overly friendly but she was attentive. We ordered a couple rounds of cocktails. They were pricy but good. The fire pit tables are very nice. If you can sit outside at a fire pit I would recommend doing so. read more

I am actually speechless how bad our dinner was. While the staff was nice enough, they were fairly disheveled. Shocking for the Four Seasons. It easily took us 15 mins to even order a cocktail. They were out, PUT of Sancerre. Please tell me how a resort of this caliber could be out of its wine by the glass the week of Xmas! The "jumbo" shrimp appetizer were hardly even large. Maybe they were medium on their best day. The hummus was delicious, the crudite an crackers "presented" with the medium Bowl of hummus were five pieces of celery and five carrots tossed on a much too large plate. Then the five grocery store crackers were tossed on their own plate. The ahi poke bowl was ok. The burger was very undercooked, which means COLD, but high we brought to the servers attention. She then shared that they aren't allowed to question the kitchen. WHAT??? The ambience has potential, but I think they need a complete overhaul. The Haute Chocolate alone is worth the stop--it's rich, velvety, and presented with a fun, over-the-top pour that melts the chocolate and playfully drops the huge marshmallow into the mug. The burger (7x Ranch Wagyu Beef, Bacon Jam, Chipotle Aioli, Cheddar, Truffle Fries) was satisfying, juicy, well-seasoned, and not too sweet with the bacon jam. The Seafood Cobb, (Jumbo Lump Crab, Citrus Grilled Prawns, Maine Lobster, Arugula & Romaine, Fennel, Tomato, Blood Orange Vinaigrette) was fresh and flavorful, a really nice balance if you want something lighter but still filling. If you're looking for a low-key apres-ski you should come here. Yes guys, this is the famous Instagram hot chocolate from the remedy. Not only is it famous for being famous it actually taste great and I would highly recommend not passing up the opportunity to order this hot chocolate. Service here is quick. Don't bother with a reservation, you won't need it. It was empty except for two couples at the bar dressed very casual. The patio had a few folks but the sun dissuaded us. I'm not sure why people are saying no dogs, there were 3 on the patio. The cocktail was wonderful. The food was subpar at best. Was brought stale crackers and bread for appetizer, sent back the main dish and the follow up wasn't much better. Don't think you're getting the quality of the FS name with this restaurant. The desserts however are outstanding and that plus our sweet waitress saved the experience. All that to say, the manager was condescending and should be retrained, the waitress should be promoted she was outstanding. Nothing phased her and she was working her ass off like it was commonplace. Bravo. We left her a nice tip as it's not her fault the chef and manager utterly failed her. Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend. I recognize influencers are making a big deal over the haute chocolate, it's not the chocolate that makes it, it's the marshmallow. The food here was good but nothing too special. The burger bison was good, we ordered no cheese specifically and it came out with cheese. The elk chilli was good, but also nothing too special. We came to try the hot chocolate so we were not too upset about the food. It was a bit pricey so I would keep that in mind. The hot chocolate was $25 and they do an excellent and consistent presentation. We were very pleased and happily paid $50 for two hot chocolates. The service was very mid. Our server was nowhere to be found once our food came out. Along with our drinks. We had to flag somebody else down to fix the burger with cheese. As for our drinks, one hot chocolate was supposed to be spiked and since she had not come out until we were done, we just asked if it could be removed from the bill because the alcohol never came. Waiting to get a chance to flag her for the check was also very lengthy even when it appeared to be very slow with not many people we was not present. Not happy with the service. First of all the haute chocolate lives up to the hype. Five stars. The service i would separately give two stars. but the haute chocolate was that good that I will round up from 3.5 to 4 overall. That's what we came for and it does not disappoint. Adding the shot was icing on the cake and any of the selections were stellar. I got the peppermint and it was like the most decadent thin mint you could imagine. I tasted the frangelico and Baileys also. Couldn't miss. The presentation is delightful. Our server was accommodating helpful and friendly. My issue comes with our experience at the front of the house. My friend went to the hostess stand a couple days prior to scope out accommodations for our group of nine. Even though she was standing right there asking for a reservation the hostess tried to turn her away to go to Open Table even though she had all the information and capability to make a reservation right in front of her. The manager was standing just off to the side and basically set her right telling her to help the customer who was standing right in front of her. We arrived about 10 minutes early for our reservation at 1:30 on a Monday coming off the mountain. We were not informed in advance that ski boots were not allowed. As a place that advertises as apres they should make that more apparent in advance. The same hostess who tried avoid making our reservation previously looked our group of four up and down and said "do have regular shoes?" We were slightly taken aback. She then proceeded to say ski boots were not allowed. She let us chew on that statement for a minute with no further communication immediately. We weren't sure what to do. Then she said "if you need them we have slippers for you". Why didn't she lead with that? It's like she was trying to make us feel awkward and she succeeded. After that she proceeded to tell us that our group would be split up in to two tables because they don't have a space to accommodate us together. We had booked a reservation days ago for all 9. You booked it. If that was plan all along, gain, why weren't we informed? We asked what could be done to fix that, table outside, waiting a little bit etc. At first she was adamant that that was the only way we could all sit was to split into two groups. If we had wanted to split we would have planned for that. We pushed back reminding her that she had made this reservation for us days ago and that was very misleading of her if that was the way it was always going to be. What was the point of a reservation for all of us in that case? She hemmed and hawed and left to talk to someone. Upon returning she said IF we were willing to wait 10 minutes or so we could all be accommodated at the same table, acting like she was doing us a huge favor the whole time. Of course we could wait. We booked a reservation for 9 at 1:30 and it was only 1:25. Again, why did she seem like she was trying to make it awkward for us? Once we were done dealing with her the experience was great but we almost left before even getting to the table at multiple points due to poor customer service at the front end. read more

There wasn't enough space for food, let alone comfort. When we asked to move, the manager made us wait over 20 minutes. First she said we could sit on the lobby couches, then returned to retract that. She claimed everything was reserved, yet also told me the outdoor fire pits were first-come-first-serve. When I pointed out there were open ones available, she changed her story again. When I questioned the inconsistency, she told me she "didn't want to argue." She offered us a drink to make up for it -- which they later charged us for anyway. We were finally moved, but the service remained poor -- especially compared to the attention larger groups around us were receiving. When asked whether we were hotel guests and I said no, the level of warmth dropped noticeably. This place is quite well known for their fancy "haute" chocolate. Went on a weekday afternoon. The main bar area was full, so we got sat at one of the high top tables on the other side of the fire place. It's a cocktail bar at a fancy hotel, and has a dark contemporary look. Shouldn't be surprised since this is a 5 star hotel at an expensive ski resort. Of course, I got the famous "haute" chocolate, which they pour at your table. It has a like a chocolate wireframe on the cup with a marshmallow cube on top, and they pour the hot chocolate onto the marshmallow until it falls into the cup and the cup fills up. Definitely the fanciest and most expensive hot chocolate I've ever had at $19 a cup. It was a good cup of hot chocolate, although I like my hot chocolate to be even thicker and sweeter. My friend ordered some dessert, but they got the order wrong and bought over the apple cinnamon donut bites, and we ended up getting the donut bites for free.
