It is now called NJ Imaging, has been for a few years, and while they STILL HAVE TOP NOTCH TECHNICIANS AND EQUIPMENT, a ten day wait for mammogram results is a bit much. Depending on who you talk to, they can and will mail results, but greatly encourage use of their portal, and are not interested in hearing how you tried, but the portal kept crashing. Further, apparently they overbook, as when I there Tuesday, June 2, 2026, the cue on the 2nd floor had clients crammed in like sardines. I use a cane and had to stand for twenty minutes waiting to be called. Really a shame, it was a far different experience in the past. Such a beautiful facility and great location, doing a slow and steady nose dive. read more

Since they became NJIN they are horrible! They tell you one thing, do another, you can't a person on the phone and have some bogus answering service that can't answer questions. There is an answering machine for every department they transfer you to. I will be filing a report with the American Medical Association because I am sick of it. They will change this or they will close down. Either way I will get to the bottom of it. The place is always so crowded, its dirty, it smells. I will never go back there. They need more staff - the phones ring off the hook. They take 5 days to get results and email them to you. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. read more

They have definitely improved their process. Better organization Better private checkin. However they contact you over and over and over prior to your appointment asking for the same info. They need to improve their programs. I received reminders AFTER my actual appointments on 2 different occasions. Medical staff is outstanding Front desk girls are helpful for the most part. I have unfortunately been there about a half a dozen times in the last few weeks and I have to say there is one girl there who makes you feel like you're bothering her. She's rude. She texts on her phone and makes you stand there for several minutes before evening. Acknowledging your presence. So things have improved thankfully they still have a way to go. read more

It use to be a nice , clean , space . only mammo's on the second floor . They'd have water , coffee , granola bars . The staff was very pleasant . This was my first visit to this facility since it's absorption by NJ Imaging, it was not a pleasant experience. To begin with, I made my way to the windowed area where Reception sits to check in. While doing so, I recall hearing the following: " Sign In" behind me yet was not aware that instruction was being directed at me. Read on..... I then turned around and found an employee at a "podium" with a lap top computer. Several feet away I saw a book which was being used to Sign-In. I now realized that this "station" had been set up to facilitate signing in. It must also be stated that a patient, who had originally been seated in the waiting area, decided to stand directly in front of this "podium" creating small talk with the employee; this went on for quite awhile causing a disruption for other patients who needed to "Sign-In". Once I was called back to the window, I was advised that I needed a Rx to have an X-Ray. Note that I was provided with just the opposite instruction when I called the office before I actually arrived at the location. It should also be noted that "staff" behind the window did not appear pleased with their job. Clearly, the placement of staff via NY Imaging at this location had to be done quickly without vetting or training as the manner in which they interact with patients deserves a complete overhaul and/or replacement. I did meet with Crystal, the Manager, who quickly appeared to be light years over the aforementioned personnel with regard to her relationship skills. read more

If I could give this place a -0 I would! Stay away from here!!! This is NOT Montclair Radiology anymore. You can't get anyone on the phone. When you finally do to confirm your appointment because they want you to schedule online and they never send out a confirmation your told your appointment is confirmed. I even finally got an email I should've received when I made the appointment for the 3rd time! I get there only to be told my appointment was canceled because the prescription wasn't filled out properly. I uploaded it three times in over a weeks time. You would think they would have called the doctor. Instead they just cancel your appointment and don't notify anyone. It's also worth mentioning that my doctors strongly disagreed with the interpretations from my last tests done there. Go somewhere else. This is a place of death where the employees couldn't care less about you. A system geared for death. read more

Horrible billing practices! I was charged up front $600 when I only owed $139. My husband was just made to pay $400 at time of mri and we just received EOB and he only needed to pay $45. We both called to get our refund. What about the people who might not check their statements? This should be illegal. read more

Business now NJ imaging t& I must say, not at all confid ent or happy since they took over from Montclair imaging. Staff not welcoming & sign in sheet placed where anyone can see, Hippa Violation?? STAY AWAY. NJIN is not at all like the well run excellent \ Montclair Radiology. I would rate NJ Imagine minus stars or ZERO Stars. The issues I had were too numerous to mention - nothing was done right, causing me stress over what is already a stressful procedure. Girl at front desk was brain dead - she said I could not get more than 2025 mammogram and ultrasound on CD when radiologist specifically mentioned comparing films back to 2022. I knew this was wrong per NJ health mandates of 5 years. Could not find my second ultrasound prescription, never bothered to pick it up at fax machine for hours. Refused to schedule ultrasound with mammogram even though doctor's script and the 38 years prior scripts required both tests. Turns out I had not met my deductible but this was not relevant and certainly not a reason to refuse to schedule what was on my doctor's script. Forced to call after inconclusive mammogram and was told next appt for Ultrasound was in 3 weeks. After screaming for 45 minutes, they found appointment for 3 days later. Did not complete the family history form for radiologist and Mammogram Technologist grabbed clipboard and said it was not necessary, which it is essential. On and on... Avoid this place, it is a shit hole, a total disaster. read more

Stay away!!!!! This is NOT the old Montclair Radiology. I would like to be able to give them a negative start rating. They don't deserve even the 1 star. The company that took over is ONLY interested in being paid upfront for anything your insurance doesn't cover even if the charges are more than you can afford. If you can't pay them prior to the test they will not give you the test. There is NO billing option. They tell you to take out a line of credit. Sure like we're all able to get approved for another form of credit. Unless you have the astronomical fee in cash, check or credit they are all too willing to tell you to go somewhere else. The people on the front line are apologetic but apologies don't provide anyone with the needed testing to determine what is causing issues/illness. This place is NOT patient focused. They are only interested in how you can pay them! So unless you're rich and can afford the copays or can get approved for the line of credit they suggest, I strongly suggest going somewhere else. read more

Due to the pandemic, I was overdue for my annual mammogram and I was terrified. Recently I started experiencing breast pain and was given a prescription for a "diagnostic breast exam and ultra sound if needed." Based on my doctor's recommendation, I scheduled a diagnostic breast exam online and uploaded the script to the patient portal. I waited in my car to be called. I then waited in the packed waiting room. Then, I was informed that I had to reschedule because I didn't book both the exams listed on my prescription. I explained that my script clearly stated "IF NEEDED" and I assumed that the second exam would be dependent on the first. Apparently, I was wrong and it was "protocol to administer both exams together. I was distraught and almost in tears at the thought of not being examined that day. The breast pain had been weighing heavily on my mind having lost a parent to cancer recently. I kindly asked if they could simply forgo protocol and at least administer one of the exams as scheduled to relieve some of my anxiety over the possible results. The receptionist just kept repeating that they were "doubled booked" and it would be impossible. Then she informs me that my next appointment would be 6 weeks out.!! I 6 WEEKS!! I couldn't believe the lack of care or compassion I received from a supposed medical facility that should be in the business of caring for others. I had taken off of work. I was scared. I explained my concerns kindly. I understood that the pandemic had taken a toll on everyone and limited staffing might be an issue. However, I had uploaded my script days before. Why wasn't I informed of the issue before the visit?? Why was my appointment even accepted if "protocol" calls for these tests to be done in unison? This was their mistake, not mine. As I lay in my bed, mind racing, breast uncomfortably thumping ... I am ANGRY and now realizing that perhaps they just needed to free up a time slot for their already "double booked" patients at my expense. Montclair Radiology has several locations in New Jersey. The Nutley location is my #1 choice. They have great customer service and all the latest in diagnosing equipment. From start to finish, scheduling your appointment by phone or online (appointment times are very accommodating Weekdays, Weekends and on Saturdays), friendly intake reception, qualified technicians performing your scripted procedures and medical diagnoses by their excellent radiologists are all done in a respectful and timely manner. If you want a copy of your medical report, just let them know at check in and they will send you a generic copy. The facility is very clean. Customer service questionnaires are available in the waiting room. A coffee machine, WIFI and TVs are in the first and second floor waiting rooms. Yummy biscotti is available in the waiting rooms :-) The montclairradiology.com website can give you lots of information along with how to prepare for a procedure. My experience was great but the only thing I would have like to see improved is the front desk staff is a little off putting in Nutley but everything's e is top notch. From reading other reviews it seems to be a common issue with the borderline rudeness at the front desk but everything and everyone else picks up the slack. Booked a babysitter and drove 30 mins each way for this appointment. I've been anxious all week about potential cancer issue. I get to the front desk and "oh, looks like someone booked the wrong appointment type and radiologists aren't in at night." No sincere apology or problem solving. Oh but hey? But don't worry! They can fit me in in 3 weeks. I started crying and they completely ignored me. Rude and short in communication. Are you kidding me? This is a delay of care. Absolutely unbelievable. I had the worst experience at montclair radiology. I had scheduled an appointment for a mammogram. I couldn't get the mammogram done because i was missing a prescription to get an ultrasound and they need to be done at the same day. They rescheduled another appointment and I got the presciption that was needed. I show up to the 2nd appointment which was first thing in the morning and they tell me that i couldn't get the mammogram and ultrasound done because a radiologist needed to be present. I'm beyond annoyed but they reschedule a 3rd appointment. I arrive to the 3rd appointment for them to tell me that the prescription for the mammogram was incorrect and they couldn't do the mammogram. If they would have communicated that the first time around, I could've gotten the proper prescription when i got the prescription for the ultrasound. I went to a different imaging center and didn't have an issue with the original prescription. The lack of communication and incompetence in the montclair and nutley location is beyond . read more

Run, don't walk from this location. They do not answer the telephone or return messages. When they do answer the telephone, they are incredibly rude and unprofessional. They have recently merged with NJ Imaging Network so I was hoping things would improve since I am so close to this location. The medical staff is professional. Beware though of the parking lot. On a recent appointment visit , my husband parked in the parking lot on High St. The area was under construction so things were a mess. He parked the car and when he completed the appointment he noticed our car, which we just bought ,was side swapped by a white vehicle. Whoever did it did not have the decency to leave a note. I called the customer service line and asked if there were video cameras . The woman I spoke to was concerned and called me back she told me she directed the request to the individual who would look into this. I NEVER heard from the office with any results. So BEWARE when parking your car in this inadequate parking lot. I hope the person who did this to our car never experiences something like this to their vehicle because even with insurance there is a deductible and it could impact our insurance and it was not our fault. read more

I want to start out by saying that the medical staff is wonderful. The staff is very professional and caring. That is the only reason that I gave this place a two. That is where my positive comments. They rip you off in the billing. When my procedure was scheduled, I was told that the procedure did not require authorization. However, when the bill was sent to my insurance company, it turns out that the procedure did require authorization. The insurance company indicated that all Montclair Radiology needed to do was submit a retroactive authorization. I spoke with the office several times and asked them to submit the retro authorization but they refused. Instead I got letters saying that if I didn't pay they were turning over my bill to a collection agency and would ruin my credit. So, I had to pay the whole bill since they decided they would rob me instead of doing their job and sending in the paperwork. it's a shame that such wonderful healthcare professionals have such an unethical management organization backing them. read more

the care and attention i have had here for over 25 years has been just fine. in probably 25+ scans, xrays, MRIs with and without contrast, CT scans, DEXA scans etc.. the longest i waited was about 45 minutes because there was an issue with the machine. other than that, the techs and the doctor were all great and tried to make me as comfortable as possible. i have recommended this place dozens of times. the only negative thing is since NJIN took over their billing is lackluster. my visit was supposed to be billed as a outpatient/lab but was billed as an office visit that requires a co-pay. i dont have co-pays for labs or xrays or MRIs ever. montclair radiology always billed correctly and had zero issues. NJIN not so much. but what i find important is the physical care i get there and treated with respect. to me that outweighs the 5 minutes i spent on the phone with my insurance company and the 4 minutes i spoke to NJIN''s billing dept. all straightened out in less than 10 minutes. i will still only use them for my imaging needs especially when i can get the results in the online portal even before the doctor looks at them. and they will make a CD with your imaging on it at the time of your visit, the extra 10-15 min wait is fine because i dont want to have to come back. i was really surprised to see any 1 or 2 star reviews for this location unless it was due to billing issues. All the techs and medical staff have been wonderful to me and my family. read more

I've gotten several ultrasounds and an MRI at this Nutley location and I have no complaints. Making an appointment is easy and they're always willing to accommodate me. The gowns are clean as they come in a sealed plastic bag. They also have private little lockers where you can keep your belongings safe. Prep time (paperwork, insurance card, ID, etc.) doesn't take unnecessarily long. I am usually seen within 10 minutes of my scheduled appointment time. My last visit was for a MRI with contrast. The gentlemen who did the procedure was soo sweet. Very knowledgeable, caring and eager to help. I was nervous about the whole thing but he was kind and engaging. His mellow vibe really helped me relax. I knew I was in capable hands. I wish I had asked his name. Definitely recommend this location! read more

Went here for an MRI on my knee at the advice of my orthopedic specialist as a result of a running injury. From the moment I arrived until the time I left, the entire staff was super nice and highly professional. The secretary didn't give me attitude like I've experienced in other medical offices. I filled out all my new patient paperwork and they called me in soon thereafter. They brought me upstairs, gave me a locker and assured me my belongings would be safe while undergoing the scan. The radiation tech initiated and maintained friendly conversation throughout the entire scan. Real nice guy. I think his name was Tony. I was in and out in under 40 minutes, which isn't bad considering I had to fill out paperwork and let the machine do it's thing. I was able to get the MRI results within 48 hours because that's all it took for them to notify my orthopedic specialist, who went over the detailed results with me. I was expecting the written results to only state what was wrong with my knee, but they also stated what was right with it. read more

I've been in this location twice. To be honest I don't remember much about the first visit (I think it was in 2013). The second visit was last week and I had a wonderful experience. No waiting time, safe COVID protocols and the nurse was just wonderful (I hate that I can't remember her name, but I think is Lodie), she was very gentle, polite and made sure I was comfortable at all times. The service and my tech was actually great. Ensure that if you are calling ahead to get quotes to understand total cost out of pocket that you record the call. I asked specifically to get a total for what the services would cost and was provided exact numbers in a quote. The charges were then $750 more than discussed. I got the runaround from 4 different people and they chalked it up to a "miscommunication" or tried to put this back on me as if I did not understand the information given to me. Then we rent a car and drive over to find out they've cancelled the appointment for no reason and with no notice and we'd have to reschedule for another day. Methinks no. The nurses are very nice and good at their jobs. The turn around time for results is quick, usually by the next day in my experiences.

The only reason this place is getting more then 1star is because the front desk clerks were pleasant and quick. But my experience with my ultrasound technician with Alina was disappointing. I'm on my 4th pregnancy and know what to expect and this tech needs some training on customer relations or find a new career. Alina (ultrasound tech) just had this negative energy as thou she did not want to be at the office. She spoke to me as if she were a drill sergeant. Luckily, Im a good listener. Then she almost closed the door in my face as she was instructing me what to do. It seems as if she wanted me in and out. My family was not allowed to come in to share the experience??? I'm suppose to hear my baby's heart beat -never did I usually get a pic of my baby - but because Alina did not setup her printer she could not give me a pic? Wtf it's a baby I'm having !!! I love coming to Montclair Radiology. I never seem to have to wait a long time for an appointment and they are very convenient because some days they are open late and rhey have Saturdays. The staff is friendly and I always get on and out. I don't think I have ever waited more than five minutes to be seen. read more

The sign on the desk says "Receptionist" but the woman I had the misfortune of choosing was anything but receptive. From the first words spoken she made me feel like she couldn't be bothered helping me. She hesitantly gave me her managers email to send my insurance ID to so I took my paperwork to sit and fill out. She walked up to me with a piece of paper that said Inactive, set it down and walked away. I finished my paperwork and brought it up to the desk, then proceeded to explain to her that if she looked me up in United Heathcare it would say inactive because my policy was with United Healthcare Student Resources, to which she was again short and rude with me. I told her that I emailed my ID to the email and asked if she could use that so I could have my X-ray, to which she responded that the manager with the email had just left. The email you gave me less than 4 minutes prior? Are you serious?? She told me I could pay for the X-ray out of pocket and hope to be reimbursed by my insurance or come back tomorrow when the manager is there. As a Combat Veteran of the United States Air Force I can tell you that if you have to go to a radiologist, youre probably not having one of your finest days and this woman compounded every problem I had with not once ounce of caring or professionalism. If this is how Combat Veterans are treated I can only imagine how anyone else is treated. The other receptionist was very helpful to me, she spoke with the insurance rep i phoned, a tech came out a few minutes later and my x-ray took all a total of 10 minutes. If I had listened to the first woman I would have been walking around on a possibly broken ankle for another day. read more

I just went to have a 3D mammography and a transvaginsl ultra sound. They told me the 3D not covered by my insurance. Pay us $75. I said not covered don't need it do the regular one not paying u $75. As I waited I called my insurance company. 3D is 100 percent covered. Ins co was willing to call them - the girl at the desk says no I'm not giving u the number I don't do billing. Sign an ABN and u can get reimbursed. No I'll take my prescriptions back please. This is the second time with this group. The last was a cardiology thing. Called said it was covered. Called few days before the appt said no problem it's covered. Got there - u need to pay us $99 ??? That was at the West Caldwell facility. Not using this facility ever again!!. Rating should be -10. Was forced to pick at least 1 star. read more
