When I say my expectations were exceeded, that is an understatement . First, Colin (our estimator/sales guy) met with us 3 different times. Our first impression was a great one. He was sincere, honest, and professional. We had other estimates lined up, but there was no comparison. We not only didn't experience the same professionalism, Montco was thousands less. It should also be mentioned that the fence quality is much better too. Some of the others we had quoted looked flimsy and cheap. MontCo's installers were amazing! They discussed the boundaries with me. They made adjustments to the timeline because my landscaper was also working onsite. My landscaper said he wished he could hire them. They made sure every post was level, were making adjustments to make sure it was right. Then wiped down the fence by hand when they were done--as if that wasnt enough, then they blow dried my grass where it was walked on. They definitely didn't have to do that--but their concern for my property meant a lot. They did an excellent job! So thankful--and will highly recommend. 10/10 recommend read more

If I could have given zero stars I would have. This company is totally unreliable. My fence is supposed to have a lifetime guarantee. So I called for a repair and that was back in July. I was told they only do repairs on Saturday, which is fine. So here we are in September and still no repair service. I've repeatedly called and was told they don't get to my area that often... REALLY...so my fence is guaranteed but you don't get to my area ...I can't believe they even said that to be.. Next I'm contacting the fence manufacturer to let them know .. We were threatened over our review on Facebook. Really poor job quote through execution. Left tons of large wood debris in the yard, and when asked to replace a rail that was sawed through more than halfway, they flipped it to hide it. Called and complained and they were to call and come Saturday or Monday to fix it. Instead we got a call Monday evening asking for payment after we were told no payment until satisfied. They agreed to come out to resolve the issue, but then never showed and contacted me to ask me to remove my review. I declined. We asked that the return visit to correct the poorly done job be Friday or Monday, but they decided the customer's schedule didn't matter and showed up Saturday unannounced. Lastly, the fence is to keep a small dog away from the road, hence the chicken wire, and a gate was left wide open by the workers. I've attached pictures of my response to the to first request, and their subsequent ultimatum/threat. It's still not properly done. As soon as my mother paid on the contingency they come out a third time, they started trying to get her to force me to remove my review. When she said no, I got the attached message in white. At this point, I'm going to fix the fence. Total nightmare. They also made sure to tell us that they come out when it's convenient for them. They do not work on the customer's schedule. read more

I want to start by saying the crew did a fantastic job on our fence install - they were professional, on time, completed the work in less time than estimated, and the fence looks great. The 2 star review is due to communication issues over a period of 3 months with the office that led to multiple measurement appointments being required, and it still was not correct the day of install. As a result, we were short about 35 feet of fence, so we had to round off a corner of our yard. We received an estimate to move 54' of existing fence and install an additional 35' to fix the issue. When we requested help with the cost to move the existing fencing due to all of the issues we encountered securing a correct measurement, we were ignored. I sent the request on June 28th and have received no response. Below is an outline of the communication issues we outlined for them: The initial measurement and sketch we received on March 18th was incorrect (the fence ended at the front edge of the deck when we discussed bringing the fence past the deck) and required us to schedule a follow up onsite consult. On April 23rd, we received new estimates for two measurements discussed during the second onsite consult but no sketch to confirm the measurements. After multiple requests were made for a sketch between April 23rd and May 8th, when we did receive the sketch, the measurement again stopped the fence short of where we discussed along the long side of the house, and I reached out to add an additional 22 feet of fence along the 98' line to correct. At this time, I believed the measurement was correct along the back line measuring 92'. When the crew arrived for install, we walked off the corners, but I was informed we were well short on the back 92' line and would need to adjust the back line. The communication issues with securing an accurate measurement were very frustrating throughout the process, and now our concerns post install are being ignored. read more

We had a split rail fence installed by Montco and they did a great job. They were willing to work with us on different options and pricing and we are happy with the final outcome. Jennifer was very patient with us as we were trying to arrange this work. Julio and his crew arrived on time and worked hard- they were very professional. For all the work they did in one day there was very little evidence of heavy equipment left in the yard. It's only been a couple days that we have had the fence but so far the dogs love it and we are very appreciative of their help! read more

Our neighbors recommended Montco Fence when we were looking to replace our fence last year. We called 3-4 companies, got estimates, and chose Montco. We went from a low, pine wooden fence from Home Depot that lasted maybe 8 years to a beautiful new white vinyl privacy fence that we absolutely love. We have gotten many compliments from our neighbors too. The office staff was very pleasant and easy to work with in the estimating and quoting process. Once we selected Montco, the ease, courtesy, and friendliness continued through booking and job completion. There was a little confusion at the end of the year, when the job was being started, due to COVID shutting down one of their suppliers. They also had the cold and December snow to contend with. The crew on the job was friendly, professional and courteous. They did a great job and a solid clean-up. I'm surprised to read some of the negative reviews on here as this wasn't my experience at all with Montco Fence. read more

We just had our fence replaced by Montco Fence and could not be happier. The crew was extremely thorough, asked us many questions to make sure they installed it to our liking and were very kind and courteous. We ordered a wooden fence with an arched top. They didn't bring in pre-made panels, they brought in individual fence boards, traced, and cut the boards on site. They showed up on time, even in the rain, and completed the job in the exact amount of time they promised. If you're reading this review, stop looking elsewhere and go with Montco Fence! read more

If you plan to purchase a new fence from Montco keep in mind that they are horrible when it comes to returning to fix damage created by water and wear. They don't return calls, its impossible to get on their schedule to have someone come out to asscess the needed work, and when they finally show up with no notice or anyone home, they price repairs at a high rate and claim it's because the labors they hire don't want to waste time on smaller jobs...ie.. low paying jobs! We regret going with Montco and paying them $10k for our fence. read more

Extremely disappointed with Montco Fence. I called and set an appointment for an estimate for a new fence to be installed to replace my old one. After waiting a couple weeks, today I waited another hour and 15 mins and no one called or showed up! I called Montco Fence and a girl answered telling me to hold. When she got back on she took me off hold and I over heard another women say "tell her we are not coming out!" The first girl gets back on and tells me no one is coming out and when I asked why, she stated it's because I wanted fence pieces. I'M A NEW CUSTOMER!!! I told her...No! I want the estimate because I am replacing my old fence with a new one! She puts me on hold again and the rude women from the background gets on to talk to me. She tells me she can send someone out later, I told her I've been waiting and now I have to go to work and that this week or next is fine because I do have others coming out to look at the fence and want to hire immediately. So, she never re-scheduled the appointment, instead she took the measurment's over the phone of what I have now. She told me she would email me my estimate and information on the vinyl fencing and styles........it is currently almost 7pm and still I'm waiting!!! The worst professionalism and customer service I've ever heard or seen! I was referred to them by my neighbors and family and I'm seriously Pi$$ed how they dealt with a new customer. Oh, and I am looking to hire immediately so after all this I will be seeking another company! read more

The fence itself is nice but the customer service left something to be desired. The girl that did our estimate was about an hour late and didn't answer my email when I followed up with her to say I was interested in moving forward (even though she gave me her business card and told me to contact her). I had to forward my email to the main information account a few days later to get a response. On the day of our installation, we had no indication of when they would actually show up so we had no idea how to plan our day. I even called the office in the morning and they had no clue when the crew would arrive. They finally arrived around noon and rushed through the job, leaving plastic shavings and sharp pieces of PVC shards all over our yard. I couldn't take my toddler outside that evening to enjoy the new fenced-in yard, which was the whole point of getting the fence. I called the company to give my feedback and the woman on the phone told me she would pass my concerns along to the owner. I have never gotten any kind of follow up call from him. read more

What a huge pain in the ass this company is to deal with. The only reason I give 2 stars is because their installers were friendly, hard working and did a good job with the install and I am very happy with the end result. The real problem with this company is the absolute ineptitude of the office staff. Double talk, procrastination, lies and a total lack of acceptance of responsibility when they are at fault. Communication is terrible and usually when they communicate it is too late. This company cost me 3 days of lost wages due to back ordered material... understandable during Covid, but notice given too late. After the second reschedule, they called me for the third reschedule saying my fence material had arrived and they scheduled me for an install a week from then. I scheduled off for third time and waited... and waited. I called office at 12noon to question why no one was here to install fence and was told by female owner that I was not on schedule and my material was not there. So they got an email that my material had arrived but did not physically check and verify. A WEEK LATER! They took NO RESPONSIBILITY! I later spoke to male owner requesting some financial help with original estimate due to 3 lost days of income due to their ineptitude. He took off $200 off a $10,500 install. It took me 20 minutes of debating him to get that, with him stating if he gave me anything they would not make any money on the job. Total bullshit... By the way, I'm leaving out many more details of bad communication and customer service because I'm tired of talking about this... I have a good amount of fencing I am going to need in the spring and WILL NOT be using Montco Fence. If you enjoy having a company treat you as if their time and money are more important than yours, than Montco Fence is the company for you! read more

They were able to give us exactly what we wanted just within our budget. The quality is incredible and the look and feel of the fence is exactly what we could have hoped for. Called before Memorial Day and was told it was covered under warranty and they do these repairs on Saturdays. Never showed. Left numerous messages no one called back. Emailed. No response. Called June 26. Was told crew would be out that day. Never showed never called. Called June 29th was told by owners daughter that they are repairing this by their "good graces". I cannot believe we cannot get on a repair list because we aren't paying for the repair. That's covered under their warranty. Terrible way to treat customers. We found Montco Fence via Home Advisor on Friday 4/15/16. On a positive note, we received a call from Montco Fence within minutes of posting the request for fence repair on Home Advisor. The woman who called (Kelsey) gave my husband an estimate of $300 to fix the latch on my wooden fence and ensure that the door swings freely without force. My husband explained that we are closing on our house on May 10th and so we needed an immediate date for repair to satisfy the legal inspection obligation of our closing. He was told someone would come out either Thursday 4/21 or Friday 4/22. When no one showed up by Friday 4/22, we called Monday morning to inquire about our repair. Nikki answered the phone and had no record of our name or address. My husband advised that he had his phone records from Kelsey and explained our situation again. Nikki said she would call Kelsey to find out what happened. Nikki did call back within 15 minutes to say she spoke to her boss and couldn't promise to come out to repair by the end of the week 4/29, but MAYBE, by Friday May 6th. I told her that was unreasonable as it is too close to the closing date to risk and I questioned what happened to our scheduling from last week. Very unprofessionally, she snapped that they were very busy and my husband never booked anything. Utterly unprofessional and clearly a company with scheduling and staffing issues. Not a good combination for home improvement work and people at the mercy of repairmen. Stay away! read more

Just had my fence installed. Looks great and they did a good job. The only part that could be improved upon would be communication. I called to follow up on something and kelsey made it clear I was annoying. I called back to explain that I was calling because I needed to know for my schedule and she just wanted to argue. There was also no response on emails. I paid upfront before work was done. I wouldn't do that again but I would use them again. Lastly I had asked for caps for neighbor fence which I was willing to pay for and since june I was told no problem. Then this week I find out they don't have it. Not a huge deal but if communicated upfront I could have purchased them elsewhere. Again less one star on communication but great work. read more

I couldn't agree more...I called Montco and spoke with Jen, she was extremely nice and personable and we scheduled a time for Bill to come over and give me an estimate. Bill came right on time on the specified date. He was very professional and did not try to "up-sale" me on what type of fence to get. We had a 30 year old split rail that I could no longer patch together and with a 75 pound yellow lab, I needed a nice, strong fence. We settled in on an aluminum fence and Bill gave me the estimate. He was without a doubt the most reasonable of any of the other estimates, and we scheduled a date for installation. The crew came on the date specified and they removed my old fence and installed the new fence in one day (just as promised). The crew was diligent and Julio, the "foreman", was outstanding. He doubled check with me just where we were going to install the fence and was a pleasure to work with. I would absolutely recommend Montco Fence to anyone who is in the market for a new fence. read more

I contacted Montco for an estimate for fencing for our backyard (approximately 450 linear feet). I called the company and spoke with Jen. She was very helpful in answering my questions regarding the different types of fences we were considering. Initially, we were considering a wood fence since it's more cost effective. We made an appointment for Bill, the owner of the company, to come out for an estimate the next day. Bill arrived and walked the yard with my husband and me. Bill was very personable, answered all of our questions, and made recommendations for the fence. The completed work order had the cost for a wood fence and an aluminum fence. To our surprise, the price difference was about $1000. The play set removal cost $350 but Bill offered to dismantle it and bring it to a location of our choice. When I told him that no one wanted it, he asked if he could put it in front of the Bechtelsville store so a needy family could have it (which I thought was so nice). We gave Bill a deposit that day and made an appointment for the following week to have the fence installed. The installation went very smoothly. The foreman walked the grounds with my husband and me to make sure everything was correct. Several people were there and they all worked very hard to complete the job in one day. Additionally, we had some "holes" in our yard (something about drainage) and they filled them in with the dirt they dug up. They were never asked to do it but they did it anyway which was a nice surprise. After the installation, the guys cleaned the new fence even though it was raining. Betsy called mid day to see how the fence was progressing and Kelsey called the next day to thank us for our business. All in all, I am so very happy that we chose Montco. The owners and their workers are all class acts and are great at what they do. read more

I am very pleased with the work done by Montco Fence. When I purchased my home in 2011, it had a wood privacy fence because the previous owners had a pool. Over time, despite maintenance, the wood deteriorated. It had reached the end of its life. I researched about half dozen or so area contractors and settled on Montco because of their responsiveness, courtesy, and price. The original estimate was provided in March and during my discussion with the representative - I believe his name was David -- he actually enlightened me to a better color choice than I had in mind based on the color of my house. He also explained other options for the wire that would be attached to the fence. Once he left, I had additional questions. I contacted the office and Anastasia did not hesitate to send me detailed answers to my questions, along with photographs. We set a date and they arrived on May 3 and installed a beautiful fence with a total of three gates. I highly recommend Montco Fence. The workmanship is impeccable. Also this was done during a rainstorm. Furthermore, in December I had a standby generator installed. Because of Township regulations, the gas line leading to the generator went right through one of the fence posts. Montco did an excellent job of tackling this delicate situation. read more

i got my fence installed august 2019 and it turned out great! everyone was super nice and very helpful, but now i'm running into some problems where some parts of the fence are warped and one of the gates is installed crooked. when my dogs push on the gate, it opens up and the dogs have gotten out a few times. i've called 4 times in the last two weeks and emailed pictures. the girls that answer the phones are very nice but they told me there's nothing they can do for me at this moment even though my fence is still under warranty. they said they're too busy to come fix warranty repairs right now. i understand that they may be busy, but i feel as though since i paid so much money for my fence and have called multiple times i should at least get an appointment time for someone to come look at the fence and AT LEAST fix the gate so that my dogs don't get out and possibly run away. read more
