My boyfriend recently moved to Cranberry and this was the first place we went out to eat. Staff went above and beyond by wearing masks, distancing tables and designating one entrance and exit. We ordered a dozen Cajun wings and a pan pizza to split. The seasoning didn't stick to the wings very well, but they were still crunchy and delicious, especially with their homemade ranch. The pizza was so good- the crust, the cheese and the sauce. We'd like to try their deep dish next time. For a dozen wings, a large pan pizza and two sodas, it was $45 with tip. Finally got around to trying a delivery order from this location, and was really pleasantly surprised. First, the two women I spoke to on the phone were pleasant, calm and friendly which was a relief! We tried an array of things, and really enjoyed them all. The pan pizza was nice and airy, although the sauce/cheese didn't bring too much to the table, the ratios were spot on. Their wings has a good buffalo sauce but the wings themselves were incredibly small. That said, their homemade ranch was a perfect accompaniment. The scene stealer without a doubt was the calzone, really just a perfectly prepared version. Dough was crispy on the outside and super soft inside without being too thick. Great local pizza place. Service in the bar area is always top notch. Very attentive and helpful with suggestions on food and dink. Don't judge this monte cello with other ones in the area. This particular location is overall way better than the others. Even some of their pizza offerings are unique to this location. Ambiance is pretty family friendly even in the bar area. I was looking for something Italian and tried Monte Cello's. I called and placed my order very easily. They walked me thru the cheesy garlic bread which sounded wonderful. The order was ready on time, and the restauarant was very full for a Sunday early evening but I was able to pay and leave very quickly. The food is well packaged and very aromatic on the drive home. Friday, March 15, 2024 was my first time here. The parking lot was packed when my family and I arrived at 7:15. We found that the restaurant was almost full. I was pleased to be seated immediately in a rather small booth. The selection of items is dazzling, practically everything one could ask for at an Italian restaurant: a great appetizer, pizza, and entree selection plus draft and bottled beer and wines. Our server was adequate and lackluster: no personality, no charm. The food was generally okay. I was disappointed with the fried zucchini and fried cauliflower. My steak/bermuda onion/ranch pizza was pretty good. We also ordered a cheeseburger, macaroni and cheese, penne pasta with alfredo sauce, and french fries. Prices are reasonable. Overall, I would take Primanti Brothers over Monte Cello's. read more

Just visited on our way home from my sons hockey game. From the incapable, apologetic waiter to the disappointing food, the experience was awful. The coffee was cold, the drink orders were misunderstood, the burger was a frozen patty heated up! The french fries came out cold, asked for new ones, which came out cold. We were charged for the drinks that were wrong and then taken away.... it was busy, but dang.... I will never patronize this place again. Too many other options for pizza and beer. read more

Because I had to be in the area for a business meeting the next day I decided to have dinner here. A co worker recommended to eat here. Upon my arrival I asked my waitress what they were best known for and she said their pizza's were best. From that recommendation I decided on the seafood pizza that is advertised as having shrimp, scallops and 'sea legs'. I asked the waitress what were sea legs and she really didn't know. Ha! Also asked for a side salad. The salad came out first and was good. I liked it (3). Then the pizza came out and looked great. It had a lot of seafood and with the cheese and garlic was very good. It was one of the better seafood pizza's that I have had (4). I would recommend this pizza if you like seafood. The menu calls this pizza thin. I disagree. It is an average thickness pizza not thin but not thick either. My service was good. As far as the sea legs go, I could only guess it was some kind of seafood meat that was on the pizza other than the shrimp and scallops. read more

Really like this pizza shop. The quality of the ingredients is always great! We love that they offer cauliflower crust pizza (and it is pretty bomb). Everyone in our household like this spot and they have a TON of stuff other than pizza. Their calzones are really great (and giant). All in all it a great value for the quality of food. Is it the best pizza I've ever had, no. Is it the best pizza in the North Hills/Cranberry? It's the best I've found so far. The only thing we've had a chance to try recently was the Chicago style pizza (takeout) with pepperoni, green pepper and onion (outside of a non memorable takeout pepperoni pizza during the pandemic). Came here for the first time for a late lunch on a Saturday. Hubs and I ordered their Chicago deep dish with pepperoni and jalapeño. Their pizzas already come with crushed tomatoes and cheese. Each additional topping was $1.10. We ordered their small pizza, that comes out to 6 slices. Total was a little over $11 (without tip). What's Hot - Quality. Yummy pizza. Good amount of cheese. Pizza came out warm. Crust was slightly crisp on the outside and chewy and soft on the inside. Not too greasy, either. If you order their deep dish, it automatically comes with crushed tomatoes. I highly recommend you keep the tomatoes. They're yummy and nicely seasoned, which adds to the flavor. - Price. Hubs and I were able to split a small 12" pizza (6 slices) between the two of us and it filled us up. For the 2 additional toppings we ordered, the total was a little over $11. Not bad for a meal for 2 people. The prices of their other dishes seem reasonable, as well. For example, a side of fish n chips costs more than just a side of fries. - Menu. Big menu and there's something for everyone. There are monthly specials, salads, fried foods, calzones, sandwiches, hoagies, pizza, etc... There's also gluten free pasta, which is good. Italian food is carb/gluten heavy, so it's nice to see that they try to accommodate different dietary needs. Additionally, there are options like pierogis, stuffed egg egg plant, Greek nachos, etc... That this restaurant incorporates elements of the different cultural/ethnic cuisines in the area is also cool. - Service. Nice, helpful, and attentive. We came mid afternoon and there were a decent number of tables with customers. They had enough wait staff to take care of things, as well. This place seems like they're busy on a regular basis, so that they anticipate it and accommodate it is good to see. No complaints here. What's Not - Price. No set pizza menu/toppings for the Chicago deep dish pizzas. Additional toppings come and cost extra. Different strokes for different folks, I guess. On the one hand, I like that you can build your own pizza. On the other hand, I don't like the cost for each additional topping. Seating staff was less than pleased to be there, however the wait staff was very friendly and helpful. We did not have to wait more than 10 minutes for our large pizza. Our family have been eating here for the last 15 years and we have always been happy with the food. They have a variety of Italian foods. We usually order pizza if we order via delivery and the pizza crust on they're "regular " pizza is so good. It's a hand-tossed crust type and its the perfect thickness, the outer crust is the perfect crispiness and it has a good flavor to it. They're standard pepperoni and cheese pizza is good but if you want to be adventurous you can try they're buffalo chicken or my favorite, steak, onion, and ranch specialty pizzas. I also recommend getting a side of they're homemade ranch dressing to dip in. It's delicious! Occasionally we will dine in, which we did on our most recent visit. It was a Friday and they were busy, but we were seated quickly. Upon arrival at our table the floor was filthy and it was kind of annoying that it was never really cleaned up the whole time we were there. Halfway through our meal our server picked up some of the paper garbage. The restaurant itself looks as of it was built in the eighties and it hasn't changed too much as far as decor, the paneling on the walls, and the use of melamine plates and the plastic drink cups. But don't let that deter you from trying the food. Over the last 15 or so years I have tried many menu items but have my favorites... The wedding soup is great, I get quarts of it to-go when I am sick. The breadsticks are unusual but addictive. They appear to be made with they're Sicilian pizza crust, but I have no idea. Any pizza made with they're traditional pizza crust. The steak salad entree is one of those great "Pittsburgh" salads with the cheese and French fries atop a bed of lettuce and mixed veggies, must be eaten with ranch dressing. The calzones are also made with they're traditional hand-tossed crust and filled with mozzarella and ricotta cheese, and whatever toppings you choose, also good dipped in ranch. They also have a really good lasagna. If you are one of those people that like Coke or Pepsi more than the other, well this place serves both products. I've never seen this at any other restaurant. If you go on a Friday between 6:30 and 8:00 they hire a balloon twister to make balloon animals for the kids. I gave them a five stars even with the mess on the floor by our table and just attributed that as being too busy because they do have really great food, are family friendly, and the pricing is reasonable. read more

Monte Cello's is a local, family owned business that has a couple franchise locations. The one in Cranberry is consistent. By that I mean you can expect the same level of food each and every time you go. The food is decent, not outstanding. I am going backs and forth about the rating. I'm staying at 3 for one simple reason, the menu never seems to really change. I'm the 20 years we've lived in Cranberry and have been going here, the menu, with a few exceptions has remained the same. Now to some that's a good thing, as in if it's not broke then don't fix it. I get that. I however would like some new updates and choices. Don't get me wrong we will still end up going here or getting take out a couple times a month. The folks there are always super friendly and the location does a ton of business. Since they expanded into the spot next door and expanded the bar they added a bunch more beer choices and seating. That's where we usually head to as it's first come first served seating there, as opposed to putting your name in queue for main dining area. I was there this past Saturday for lunch and they now have some great anyway lunch specials. For around $5 I received a salad and two hefty slices of Sicilian style pizza. What a great deal! Other very nice specials. I always seem to order pasta or a calzone here. Their pasta isn't wonderful, in fact it's pretty generic, however they have a decent value with pasta, salad and bread for around $10. The calzones are good and I seem to favor the steak. My wife and kids love their pizza and breadsticks. I'm not thrilled with either but they love it. And with as busy as this place always is, it's seems everyone else loves it as well. Certain nights they have balloon artists walking around for kids entertainment. This place is very much a kid friendly and family oriented restaurant. It's a favorite of many groups as well and you can reserve a private area as well. We've had many sports team meals there as well. They've improved the quality of their beer selection as well. I'm a beer snob, so it's still not up to what I wish it was but it's pretty decent. The prices are comparable as well. read more

Very nice place. If you are looking for good food with a home town feel, then this is your place. I've been searching for a place like this while I'm working in cranberry, and this fits the bill perfectly. The pizza rolls were awesome (5/5), the pan pizza was very good (4/5), and the chocolate pie (4/5) was also very good for a probably store bought pie. I sat at a bar booth during the after lunch not quite dinner time, so I had service from probably 4 bartenders. All of them were very friendly and helpful, and were more than willing to suggest a beer that I might like from their pretty big tap list. It has a very hometown feel, but without the "you better not sit in that seat because that's jimmy's seat and he will be here in an hour," type of mentality. Is this place gonna win any Michelin stars? Of course not, but that doesn't seem to be their intention either. They provide good food, cold beer, and friendly faces with a hometown feel. I have been to Monte Cello's on several occasions for lunch and dinner. They have reasonably priced specials with a variety of Italian food options. If hitting this location at prime time, parking may be difficult to find. We have occasionally parked across the street in another business lot. The food here is solid. We often get a pizza of some sort - I highly recommend the Sicilian and their personal pizza served at lunch never fails. We have also tried the Stromboli which is good as well. They are known to have decent hoagies, spaghetti and meatballs, and salads as well, although I have not had any of these dishes. Our service has been decent - fairly quick to refill drinks and the food is always served fresh from the oven. When we are here it is often so busy that the waiters/waitresses do not have time to chit-chat and do anything beyond taking your order and refilling glasses as needed. Overall, this is a solid place for good Italian food at a very reasonable price. It is a nice to come and order a pizza, beer, and watch a hockey game on one of the many televisions scattered throughout the restaurant. read more

It's been a while since I've been to Cranberry, we were quickly greeted by a waitress who seemed uninterested with waiting on her table, she rattled off the list of beverages, we ordered and when she came back, had planned on ordering an appetizer, she set the drinks down and just dropped three straws on the table and was half turned around and trying to walk away while we ordered fried mushrooms, I would not recommend the mushrooms, they're cheap so we didn't expect much. The mushrooms are the equivalent of frozen appetizers you buy at the grocery store, the helping was generous though. The food arrived and definitely was not what we were expecting... Looking back at reviews and I think had we ordered Pizza or Chicken, it would have been good, but what we ordered was definitely not worth the money. I had ordered the Gnocci and added meatballs to my dish, the Gnocci was all over cooked and tasted exactly like a packaged Gia Russa brand. The dish I had was just swimming in sauce and the meatballs had an odd texture of slightly off putting overcooked meat. We also had an order of Chicken and Broccoli Alfredo, the chicken resembles the chicken you buy in a store that's already cooked and sliced with the "grill marks" but I think they use pizza topping chicken for the dish. The final dish was a zucchini parm, it was supposed to sit atop of spaghetti, but the dish was completely over-portioned with zucchini and barely any spaghetti, and the zucchini was just what you'd get in an appetizer order, also tasted frozen, not like you'd expect. The service was pretty bad at first, but our server did get friendlier as the meal went on, but overall, I wouldn't recommend this place for pasta dishes. If I'm back in the area, would definitely consider the pizza, it did look good, and I wished I had ordered it. read more
