Needing to sell your precious jewels and coins for a good honest price?…read moreChris Altbaum is the person to see. I've proven two to three times that he is the most honest person you can go to that will give you what your precious metals are worth. Chris tries hard to accommodate the time you need despite his hectic schedule. I guarantee you a great experience when you need someone like him to either appraise or sell your special pieces. Btw, he also has a good selection of jewelry that you might like as you browse around. Thank you Chris for your great customer service always.

I called them 2 weeks later on Friday and asked if they were in fact open on Saturdays. The man that answered said no. I asked him if he knew the web site still says they are. He didn't seem to care and said something about they just haven't gotten around to change it. I then asked if they were going to be open on Monday, MLK holiday. He tells me yes, 11to 6. My husband and I drove down on Monday to find them closed. I called them to make sure they were closed and got a voice mail that said they were open Mondays thru SATURDAY! It is a 30 minute drive for us. I will not be trying them again. I do not want to deal with a company that can't be bothered to even change their voice mail to give THIER customers correct information.

I visited this business to obtain a buyout offer on a GIA-certified 1.6 ct G VS2 heart-shaped…read morediamond ring and showed a written appraisal with a replacement value of about $26,000. Before even examining the ring, the male representative reviewed the appraisal and said, "You're not expecting to get $26,000 for this ring, are you? The hardest part of my job is telling people they'll only get about 10%." He discussed lowering expectations before actually looking at the diamond. After a brief inspection, I was offered $3,000. Referencing a percentage of the appraisal made the offer sound reasonable, but insurance appraisals reflect replacement cost, not actual market pricing for GIA-certified diamonds. After I declined, I was asked what I hoped to get, which felt more like negotiation than valuation. I was polite and not pressured to sell, but the process left me uncomfortable with how the offer was framed. It had a very very "pawn shop" feel to it. I recommend anyone selling a certified diamond obtain multiple offers and educate themselves before accepting a first number.
