I went to visit a friend on the second floor at building 20 to study for an exam together and spent a few days. The upstairs neighbor was very noisy. I heard the child running and banging all day. We couldn't sleep well during the night and heard weird booming noises. I also heard them drag furniture all day too. My friend is also a student and she can't get sleep or any peace even before the exams. I just really don't understand why nobody was able to handle this and make them stop making noise. Horrible management and absolutely not a good place to stay for any future tenants. read more

I am not a tenant in this building but I have gone to visit my friend in the 2nd floor a few times so we can study for school. From the times I have been there, there have been loud noises and banging, door slamming, and dragging furniture from the tenants living up stairs. Even so early in the morning there is already loud noise and no peace and quiet can be had because of that. My friend is a graduate student who needs to focus but unfortunately due to the noisy tenants it makes it difficult to do just that. With lack of sleep and frustration I can't imagine living there especially if the building management does nothing in their part to handle the situation. I don't recommend anyone to live here because management is does nothing and they won't truly care about your wellbeing... read more

Management doesn't care about the tenants. Noisy neighbors, car vandalism. Dirty gym. I don't feel safe.

I have lived here for 6 months now, and the maintenance workers and management are horrible. I had mice when I first moved in, and that problem still continues, yet the management does next to nothing. They put some sticky traps down and now every once in a while I find a dead mouse stuck on one (3 of them in 6 months). I put myself on the list for pest control(once every 2 weeks).... however they always seem to skip me. Besides the mice, they aren't helpful with anything. There is a tiny toilet in the apt that will overflow once in a while. I have reported the problemto management and they said that if a plumber comes I will have to pay for it.... it's like HELLO I AM A TENANT. It's not my fault (or responsibility)that it's a tiny toilet from the 60's. I asked them to replace it cause of this and they said no. Once a little after midnight I had to call the super cause it was overflowing all over the floor, and he also said I will be charged for it and it must be my fault. It's definitely not my fault. I am a single person, no one else lives here, and I only use a moderate amount of toilet paper, how could that be my fault? They say I must throw stuff down there..... what the hell would I throw down the toilet, I'm not 3. It's like anytime you need a repair done they create such a hassle and try to blame it on the tenant. There is a very old, little, dirty fridge in my apt. that wasn't working well when I moved in which they refuse to replace, but yell at me if it stops working and I need it repaired. Also when I first moved in there was a gas leak in my apt.. They shut off the power to the stove, but didn't replace it for weeks. They advertise themselves as a doorman building, but there are only 2 doorman who actually help out and open the door if you come home with your hands full, they others, especially this one guy, just sits and watches TV his whole shift and walks away from the front desk a lot. If you have a complaint you have to contact the management, who are based all the way in Manhattan, and they hardly get back to you. Whenever I would contact them about the mice issue they would not answer back unless I threatened to take further action. The super is very rude and yelled at me that he had to come fix my leaking toilet at midnight one night and said I'm the only one that this happens to, however a month ago he was banging on my door at 3am because SOMEONE ELSE had a leak and he had the wrong apartment, so that can't be true. The super's assistant is worse.... whenever the super tells him to do something, like check my kitchen for mice holes, he literally spends 2 minutes on the task and then leaves. There are only these 2 men, along with a few other porters that have a high turn over rate, to serve 3 interconnected buildings. That is definitely not enough. You'd think they would at least be courteous to you, but no. I have lived in many other rentals and have never had such terrible maintenence service in my life. Most buildings understand that if there is a leak it's a maintenance emergency and they need to come fix it no matter what time of night it is. Sorry this review is so long, but I want people to understand what they would be getting themselves into here. Monte Excelsior - Tiny toilet overflowing and leaking into floor - Apartments Near Me - Bellerose, New York

DO NOT LIVE HERE..... Cockroaches, Cockroaches and more Cockroaches. The manager Christopher is completely incompetent and just doesn't respond to your emails if he so chooses. The cockroach problem started after I lived here for over 3 years (before that I loved it here). Management refused to PROPERLY handle the situation and allowed the tenants that brought the roaches in to go almost 2 years without exterminating their apartment, while the surrounding apartments suffered. The building consists of 3 buildings attached at one lobby. They even allowed this family to move from one building to another therefore infesting another building with roaches. It got so bad that I packed up and moved out before my lease was up- I couldn't get out of there fast enough after they botched up the fumigation (that didn't get rid of the roaches) and they promised me a cleanup crew due to medical conditions that prohibit me from cleaning up, that cleaning of course never happened! I spent 3 days cleaning up which caused me pain that lasted over a month. This building is run by a completely incompetent management which is a shame because when it was family owned this was the place to be!!! The manager Chris has absolutely no clue what he's doing and makes promises he doesn't follow through on. The only reason anything was done at all was because of the complaints filed with 311. I lived here for many years and moved out over two years ago because management tried to screw me over. Let me give you the ups and downs of this place: Ups: -The new management is revamping the place to make it more modern (though it is taking forever) -When you do request for help in your apartment they are very efficient in making sure that things are done in a timely fashion at your convenience -Rent Stabilization -Option of Street or Parking Lot parking...parking lot is inexpensive -Allow cats; dogs allowed in ONLY one building so far. -Building is really clean -Laundry room in each building with new equipment (better washers/dryers so you spend less to do your laundry) -Tailor and Dry Cleaners on Premise -outdoor Pool in the back; other areas in the back to sit and relax. -Apartments available in all sizes, from studio to several bedrooms. -Very diverse community of tenants -Driving distance to everything -24 hour Doorman Service - great door service and a very safe neighborhood to live in -Walkable to bus -Excellent mail and delivery service -Exterminator visits once a month/ very clean building with no bug problems -Walking distance to local schools. Downs: -Prices are going up, but they're going up everywhere -dogs are only allowed in one building so far -you have to pay for membership to the pool every summer -pool is only open Memorial Day to Labor Day; they often have trouble opening it on time -Right now there is a bit of work being done in the place, but it's clean and not so bad -You have to fill out forms any time you want to do anything in the building -no nearby trains, driving distance from Bellerose and Little Neck train stations; bus is a bit of walk. -Building is on the highway service road so if you live on that side, you will hear a bit of traffic, but it's not that bad; on the other side it is quiet. -building is on a one way street (actually it's the service road to the GCP/NS) with a school on the end; you will at some point get stuck at the end of the block. -Street parking is a bit tricky; you may have to walk a bit to get the building. -Building is on the border of LI (you cross the street your in LI) - so you pay city taxes. -Read your lease carefully, they will try to screw you every which way possible -They don't inform you properly of changes in your lease and then try to screw you out of more money -Will destabilize your rent without proper notice Despite all the little things that could happen or do happen, the point is they happen everywhere. This place is not the Trump Towers or the North Shore Towers, but it is a great place to live. I would not be here if it weren't. read more

Visited a friend here. The apartments are pretty nice. They have a doorman (fancy for Queens) and they have parking for tenants at a cost on site. If you are looking into this place get the parking because street parking is tight! The building is clean though they are doing work on some places. They have a pool, which is nice! On site laundry room, dry cleaning on site and schools are not far away. Public transportation sucks here. There are no trains and the closest bus (Q46) stops in Glen Oaks on 260th St. Monday thru Friday. On the weekends it is at least a 15 minute walk to Union Tpke to catch the Q46. All in all a nice place if you have a car. read more

The place is OK if you are living for a long time. Repairs are attended in a reasonable time, the place is kept clean and is being modernized. But, if you have to move out due any reason between your leases, the management does not make it any easy. You will have to pay for the months remaining if you dont find a tenant. I have lived in many places and many cities, but havent come across a policy like this. I am at a loss as I have to keeping on paying the rent for 6 months, since I cant get a tenant. In addition, there is a weird policy of pets in one part of the bldg and not the other. You can hear pets in the bldg for those who are long-timers, but for the new comers pets are not allowed. This is ridiculous that my review of this place is hidden. Yelp is a scam then. This is a legitimate review about my experience here. Ridiculous. I wonder what it costs to get bad reviews "filtered" by Yelp? Oh and BTW, one of the unfiltered reviewers states pets are allowed, cats at least, and they are. For a $350 NON REFUNDABLE deposit.
