Highly recommend O'Shea Trucking for your next move! I interviewed so many movers in anticipation for our move this April/May. I got a mailer in from O'Shea trucking and decided to give them an opportunity to give an estimate. I spoke to Michelle O'Shea who told me it was a family business and they help to move locally and long distance. She scheduled with Rick, her husband, to come provide an estimate. When Rick came to provide the estimate, he was informative, kind and thorough. He went to see all the rooms, attic and crawl space. I really appreciated that the owner himself came to do the estimate rather than the previous sales people I've dealt with at other companies. Michelle sent over the quote and I was able to secure my date with a deposit. Unfortunately, we had issues with our closing date and buyers and had to changed our previously scheduled moving date. Michelle was wondering and communicative as she accommodated our new date. She was able to set up a crew to help me move before we needed to be out of the house. I was so appreciative of all her efforts. The day of the move, Rick called me and informed me that the crew was on their way. Rick himself and 4 members of his team were there ready to work. They were efficient, they worked well together, communicated well and everything flowed. They did a walk through prior to the move to ensure what was being moved and packed everything up so well. When moving into the new space, they transported all the furniture and assembled them in their designated rooms. They put down runners throughout the house to ensure everything was safe and transported well. They asked questions and moved things where directed. Each person had a task - unloading, building, transporting and the family team really worked well together. I highly recommend O'Shea Trucking for your next move. From someone who got about 6 quotes prior to meeting O'shea, I am so thankful for the mailer I received from them and very grateful I reached out. I hope not to move again in the near future, however I will recommend them to anyone and everyone. My coworker is eager to work with them on her move and I will be using them for my parents move. Ron and Brian made my move so much better. I corresponded with Michelle via email and a phone call to set up the job and was given a timeframe of 8am-9am for the truck to arrive. They were ready to go at 7:45am. They were so thorough and good at their jobs. I had to move a queen sized bed, a large desk, a dresser, and a few other pieces of furniture and they really did such a fantastic job. The price was so reasonable too! Well worth it. My back will most definitely be free of any pain after this move thanks to O'Shea. I couldn't have asked for a better experience and I will be recommending this company to anyone looking for movers. As I prepare to get ready to move in the upcoming months, I scroll through the potential movers, and O'Shea Trucking rolls onto my screen; this reminds me of my painful experience with them during my last move a couple of years ago. After getting getting consumed in the deluge of unpacking, I forgot to write a review. I would do you a disservice if I did not share my experience. -Truck showed up and clipped wires going to house -They packed the one bag I asked them not to touch: my shoulder bag with cash, check book, & a handful of valuable personal items -When we got to our new home, one guy profusely sweat all over the house and did not clean it up -They told us a recliner did not fit upstairs; my friend and I brought it up the following day -We asked them to try to bring a couch in through the window. One mover refused and got into a fight with the other mover about it. -They broke a dresser and "fixed" it with wood glue; we had to throw out the dresser -They also broke a desk and did not tell us about it -They charged us a lot more than the estimate and then blamed it on me for an inaccurate packing list I regret tipping them. Update: We moved June 1st or 2nd 2018. This review is not slander. This is my experience. We reported broken dresser to owners immediately. They said we should have the men try to fix it with wood glue. My wife and I decided to cut our losses and deal with unpacking and settling in to our new home. We did not want to waste more time. I decided to write this review 2+ years later because we are moving again, and I am currently looking for movers. read more

Prepping for a move, I expected so many things to go wrong. I was referred by a good friend who had used them and could not be more impressed with the whole operation. This company is one of the best moving companies around! A team of four guys came to help us move from one side of town to the other the Saturday before Christmas. They told me they would be at the apartment between 8 and 9 and showed up at 7:50am. They were so caring of my newly finished hardwood floors they placed mats down all over the house. This past Wednesday the crew from O'Shea Trucking showed up at 8:00 a.m. as promised. The team of 5 (Rick, Brian, Darryl, Jose, and Kenny) were phenomenal. All were pleasant and professional. Although most of my stuff was boxed up, they jumped in and helped to finish the process. The care they took in wrapping furniture, ensuring no damage to breakable items, etc. was phenomenal. Once all was loaded onto their truck (at about 11:00 a.m.) they took the 3-hour trip to a storage facility in Connecticut. Although it was tight, they figured out how to get all my stuff into the one unit we had rented. Ultimately, when my home is built I would LOVE to hire these guys to move my stuff into it, unfortunately, they are prohibited from doing an in-state move in Connecticut (the same way a Connecticut Mover would be prohibited from doing an in-state move in New York). I cannot say enough about these guys and highly recommend them for your moving needs - they are the best! read more

My mother in law moved from Long Island to New Jersey this past Friday. The movers were in time. Super efficient. Very engaging. Packed quickly but expertly. Any time an article was already broken or damaged, they showed us to make sure we knew. Asked us to double/triple check that they packed everything. Throughout that side of the move, they chatted and partnered with us to make sure we were OK. Just the nicest guys. Then we drove to NJ. Arrived 5 minutes after us. Miracle since they had to take truck routes. Took a walk through the house to understand which room was what. Then quickly moved all the boxes and furniture exactly where we wanted it. Again, chatting along the way. They all got along. Laughed. Friendly. It was such a wonderful experience for something so stressful. The day was made better because of this crew. Not one thing was broken in the move. They were so patient when we changed our minds on where we wanted things located. They truly just wanted us to be happy. I cannot recommend them more highly. I wish I knew of them my last two moves, which were not so good. The office staff were efficient and friendly too. The price was reasonable and didn't go up after they finished the job. I expected to have had a better experience with this company. Rick seemed personable and the men who came to facilitate the move were wonderful. Very friendly, respectful and accommodating. Unfortunately, it really left a bad taste in my mouth when on the day of the move and for no apparent reason, Rick increased the price he quoted me by several hundred dollars after they took our stuff to the new house! When I questioned him, Rick's response was that all moving companies do the same thing. When I spoke about it with Michele she tried to blame my mother who had asked Rick to give us a good price! It felt like they gave us a lower price to get the job and then they raised it once they did get the job. I found O'Shea Movers when I needed a few big items moved at the very last minute. Rick and Michelle worked very hard to accommodate me and were able to find 3 men and a truck to squeeze me in at the last minute. They were very understanding about my situation, whereas other companies were not even willing to try. Later that year, I did not hesitate even one minute to hire them for a bigger, more permanent move. Michelle remembered me right away on the phone, which shows how they do treat each and every customer as individuals and not as just "a job". In both instances, they went ABOVE AND BEYOND what they really needed to do in order to help me out. They are wonderful, genuinely nice and caring people. When Rick mentioned, "We treat every box as if it contains fragile items" he was not kidding! I am so glad I chose O'Shea Trucking for my move! Michelle was so accommodating and understanding when I needed to change my move date. And the movers.... all 4 guys were unbelievable. They worked tirelessly on one of the hottest days of the summer. They were so careful taking all the furniture out of the old place and into the new. I was worried to move after just having the house painted but they didn't allow a single piece of furniture to touch a wall. I even had a loose bunk bed before they came, and after they put it back together they made it sturdier than when it was first put together. My son got bored during the process and wrapped a zip tie around his finger. My scissors were packed and one of the guys stopped what he was doing so he could get it off of him. Rick offered to give me a phone number to a place that could fully disassemble my huge treadmill, that even disassembled, couldn't fit in my basement. I forgot to get it before they left, and 10 minutes afterwards he came back to my house to give it to me. They were so personable and kind too, and they hardly took any breaks because they were committed to getting the job done. I can go on and on. These guys were the best ever and I highly recommend them! Hopefully I never move again, but if I do I'm definitely using O'Shea again and I will always recommend them to all my friends. read more
