Unfortunately, the bouncers did not let me into the café. One bouncer was quite respectful, the other was young and rude. I was wearing a hooded sweater opened up with my Zags t-shirt. They were mistaking me for a motorcycle club member as to which the bouncer said that they have had a previous problem with. Unfortunately the sweater I had purchased at a fund raiser for raising money to help support local area veterans. I told them this and that I myself was a vet. I was also accompanied with a group of faculty and local business owners. I hope that their awareness of what being a biker is. Great place to be. The food is wonderful in fact its soo good that I end up burning the roof of my mouth with the hot cheese on their pizzas. I also end up enjoying the karaoke scene though some people pick depressing songs it is still a relaxed environment and with the upbeat songs everyone joins in on the action. Drinks are relatively fairly priced with good rapid service despite the small service counter. But they do serve 40's of decent beers if you are into that. Out of all the times that I have been here not one negative comment i have to say about the place but maybe at least have some kind of food be available during the weeknights that last till close. read more

I had called multiple times for a birthday reservation and when I showed up with my party of twenty they said they had no idea, and just made excuses and we had barely enough seats. Overall the bartender just made excuses and wouldn't listen to me and ignored my complains. Will never go again very unprofessional behavior. read more

I ordered a pizza and a few minutes later I went back up to the cash register asking for a water cup. The man looked at me said there had already been last call so he can't give me water. Mind you this is at 1:25 a.m and the bars close at 2. Also, I had already ordered a pizza and was sitting down and eating it with a friend. I then went to the bartender and he kindly gave me a water cup which I went to fill when the rude man at the register pulled the water jug away for me yelling "I said no water!". He then got right up in my face and told me I had to chug the water I had just filled my cup with right then. I've never been so disrespected. read more

I feel like I need to come back a few more times before I can give this place a proper review... but last night my friend and I came here, there was rather a large group of us. We quickly realized this wasn't the best place for big groups (10-15 people).. we pretty much took up all of the space in the non-bar area. The service was quite good and very fast. It was cold in there and the bathroom was in the same room so whoever was taking a large #2 dump in there and open the door.. yeah you could smell it. So that was bad. As for food, I like it, not yet love... maybe try different ones next time. The Buffalo Chicken nachos and Pulled Pork nachos are what we ordered... liked the buffalo chicken nachos the best. Pulled pork was very yummy and tender but for some reason it just didn't seem to go well with 'nachos. Maybe better as a burger/sandwich. Drinks were great. I had the Mango Margarita with Blue moon in it... it was delicious. We also drank pink panty droppers also pretty good and not at all strong (if you asked me last night that d be a bad thing but if you're asking me today that's a good thing because I didn't wake up with a hangover *grin*) After a bit, some people left (those with kids) so the rest of us moved over into the bar and there was karaoke and we drank some more, the karaoke was enjoyable, that night there were a few men who sang well but the ladies sucked. Overall, not a bad place, a bit small and a bit cold, bad bathroom location (im sure that was out of their control anyway). Next time I come here, I am trying a pizza.... some ppl at our table ordered pizzas and they were HUGE! definitely enough for 3 people maybe even four if everyone just had two huge slices. read more

Not a huge fan of downtown Spokane bars, or any Spokane bars for that matter; except this place!! Total laid back almost Maui style bar with the open air and interesting crowd. Never had a bad experience here. Good bartenders. I love that they serve pizza late, it is definitely nice after long days and lots of beers. The karaoke is fun and always entertaining. Even met the owners once and they seemed rad! This is my go-to spot for anytime I want to get out or show my out of town friends a good time in Spokane. Keep it up! read more

Holy Cats! Loaded Pizza and fresh big salad selection, super friendly and fast service, Totally fun atmosphere-famously they were a stop on the zombie crawl... Not to mention great prices and daily specials too. We had the Greek pizza today, and we can't wait to try them all. Worst bar I have been to in Spokane, when I asked if I could have water at the end of the night they told me that I was out of luck and took the jug of water away . The bar tender was a complete asshole. Would not recommend this bar to anyone, it is the worst in spokane. read more

Love the MC! They just expanded their outdoor seating, so even more opportunity to watch city life go by. Love the informality, food is great and the menu is the most diverse for it's size and "style" (casual, pub style). You will usually be served by the owners who are friendly and accommodating, and if not, the staff makes you feel appreciated! Monterey Cafe is not only a fun place to hang out, but their food is really tasty. The staff is always very friendly and fast. Their pizza is very good, and I would go as far to say that it is probably in the top tier of pizza places in Spokane. The greek pizza is very good and the sizes are very big. They have a full bar and is a great place to either start your nght out down town or end your night down town. It's also fun for a few day drinks in the summer because they have a neat patio with a roll up door! Great place and a must visit when you are in Spokane. read more

Don't be naïve like Steve. Karaoke is always packed because it's routinely voted best venue in Spokane. Tip your bartenders and KJs, and try not to whine when others tip them. They give us good music and drinks. 'Bama Bake Nachos after a day on the boat hits the spot. read more
