Your reply is misleading. Proper handling of the NTS was not followed and I did bring it to the TMO attention. It was your company who packed and picked up the 8,000 lbs from my residence. Your movers had intimate knowledge of the specific item that they rapped and put into a box call #7. It was your employee who acknowledged the exact item missing. My belongings were packed into standard military shipping crates. Your staff did not put the seals on them and I reported it to the TMO. No other company would have knowledge of what was in that one box out of 8,000 lbs. Your company took my 8,000 lbs out of the military crates at an unknown time. You transferred them to a company who loosely delivered them to me. It's a very unusual coincidence that out of 8,000 lbs of boxes, concealed boxes, only that one unique item is missing! I had a box of old documents that needed to be shredded. It was about like a double printer paper box. My understanding was that it would be $10. I took it there and, not only was the greeting very nice, but they only charged me $8. If I have anything more to shred, or I know someone who does, I will certainly recommend them. read more

When I needed a mover, I selected this one at random, and it was an excellent selection! First, I should note that I have a hearing disability, and companies seldom try to work with me, which makes everything difficult. Not Monterey Transfer! When I first called and spoke with Gabby and explained the hearing problem, she was immediately really cooperative, making a good start to this adventure. The movers (unfortunately I do not remember their names) were also excellent! Again, they cooperated with my hearing, and a lot more. They were very polite, very well qualified, and very hard working. They communicated with me constantly, and everything went very smoothly. I would recommend them to anybody! And, if I ever need a mover again, I will be calling Monterey Transfer, no question. read more

A minus -1 stars if I could manage it. This company had the most rude movers who tried to move each piece of my heavy furniture alone!! Everything they moved for me, about 6 items, arrived at my new place broken, damaged, put together incorrectly, and so on. This move quickly became a bad experience when they broke more things than my grandchildren who helped me with another private truck. * And get this * their insurance coverage only covers by the pound! How much does a lost diamond weigh? The final insult was that they never bothered to weigh the cargo however, I was instructed to go online and find out how much household furniture weighs. I wish I could give this company ZERO stars. Horrible movers - please, avoid them at any cost! They were clearly contracted by the military to perform a full move / unpack of our household goods, but what they ended up doing was taking all of our stuff out of boxes and throwing it into one huge pile in the middle of each room.. and out of all furniture that needed to be put together, only our bed was actually worked on, and only after I "volunteered" to help. The movers were come between 8am and Noon. By 12:30pm I finally called to find out where they were. The woman I spoke was gone from the phone for a long time. When she came back after contacting the driver of the truck, she told me that they had gone to another job, even though they were supposed to come to our house and we had only a few pieces of patio furniture to be delivered. Would I be home in the afternoon, came the question? Yes. We will wait. For how long? We don't know, came the answer. Finally, we were told between 3 and 4pm. They finally arrived at 4:30pm. There was a verbal apology, but no suggested compensation or a way to turn the apology into something that cost them. As it is said, "Talk is cheap." It requires very little to say, "I am sorry for the inconvenience." Perhaps a rebate of some sort might have actually met they were sorry. I later found out that they could have come earlier but decided that our inconvenience was just fine. read more
