Been going there with dogs and cats for over 10 years and have had very satisfactory experiences with surgeries to claws.

Very upset about a recent experience here. I have taken my cat here for a year and really liked Dr Ross and his techs. Took my cat there twice recently for a problem. Was contacted by the vet assistant/ "office manager" , Louis, that I had been rude to the receptionist . He was unprofessional and very inapprorpate in how he handled this. He was aggressive, rude and never asked me for my recollection of said two occurrences. Not willing to listen when I tried to ask about it or suggest my rememberence. Was told this was now "in my file", and was basically on probation, like a schoolchild. I was never rude nor did I use profanity, which I was accused of. Don't understand why this happened. I do recall that the receptionist was annoyed that I called to change a "walk in " and I (politely) asked for an appointment. She acted inconvenienced. I still was not unkind. I responded to the office manager that I would find another vet for the future and he said " good". To add further insult, I then received an email that they were "terminating my services , due to inappropriate behavior etc etc". I told them I would not return - why did they need to send that to me ? He needs training regarding the proper way to handle situations like that In the future. I do not recommend their services. read more

We have been good customers with Dr. Ross for over 30 years. Dr. Ross has started to transition away from the business and relinquish customer relations to his vet-tech Luis. Since then things have gone downhill. To cover his rudeness, unprofessionalism, and lack of customer service skills, Luis would not let us speak to Dr Ross. This occurred after he told my wife we do not want to see you or your animals anymore. Luis very poorly handled an emotional situation with one of our pets, and did not know how to handle it. Instead of learning how to communicate with people going through emotional situations with their pets, he terminates the relationship. Doctor Ross' business has gone downhill - that's too bad because it used to be wonderful. I guess things change and so has this customer's preference. read more

Can't give a estimate for spay services which doesn't help them out - literally every vet around hem was able to give me an estimate except them and her response was "oh no we can't do that" basically made me not want to book with them at all read more

Well the last two visits have been that good. This visit they cut my cats nails and when I got home the carrier was full of blood. I tried to call and no answer. Went to a voicemail that the box was full, so I could not talk to anyone about this. read more

Office management needs some serious lessons in customer service and communication skills. My initial experiences with this vet were great. I recently recommended them to my brother and I am embarrassed by how poorly he was treated on two occasions. Neither of us will ever return or recommend this vet to anyone. We're newer patients but have been very happy with Dr. Ross and everyone working at the practice. Office has a professional but friendly vibe and a homey atmosphere. They've taken great care of our dog and we feel cared for, listened to (not like some practices where you're rushed in and out impersonally). Grateful to have found Dr. Ross and his caring staff. Since the middle of 2017, our favorite family member (my apologies to my wife) Nima (a beautiful black short hair cat) has been coming here for her health needs. Yes, she meows, complains and pouts, but each time returns home happy and healthy. We are fortunate that Nima has not experienced any serious health issues. We give credit to Montgomery Village Veterinary. They keep ahead of any potential issues and make sure she gets the care that is needed to keep her healthy. The receptionist talked over me the whole time and refused to listen to my concerns. My dog ended up needing to go to the emergency vet and was shown more compassionate care there. Staff is smart, professional, courteous, patient, and listen while you are speaking. Dr Ross has been level headed and caring vet for most all of our pets. Even our new cat who we at first had to wear leather gloves to pick up got through her appointment and I didn't see an ambulance for severe scratches! They are quick to reply to my emails whenever I have questions and I like that I can order medicine from them online whenever my dog needs it. Wow. Where do I even start? We recently moved back to Sonoma County after getting out of the military. We have an older kitty, who's had some health problems and is probably reaching the end of her time. After looking at all the other yelp reviews, we called around, and everywhere else was booked out for up to a month. MVVC had the best reviews. They were booked for a while but got us in. The staff was amazing-- polite, friendly, and professional. Dr. Ross' warmth and compassion, along with his professionalism, were refreshing. We were treated like family the moment we stepped in the door, and the experience and knowledge Dr. Ross has is evident. My labradoodle puppy Blu has been seen by Dr.Ross and staff only a handful of times during Covid, however my experience is always very rewarding each time. Recently, my puppy showed signs of a skin rash and they were able to get him in to be monitored and examined even with a booked out schedule. The staff are always so friendly and I always leave feeling reassured/relieved after our vet visits with Dr.Ross. In my best opinion, the staff at Montgomery Vet really care about their pet patients and it shows. I am so happy I found this veterinary office for my fur baby, it's become such a comfort zone for myself and my puppy. He even gets excited to go for visits! read more

My parents have been taking their cats and dogs to Dr. Ross since we moved here ten years ago, so his vet was the natural choice for me when I adopted my own new kitty, Lilly. Dr. Ross and his staff were so kind and gentle with Lilly, who is very skittish around new people, and were very thorough in their exam. We got everything we needed and now Lilly is on her way to recovery! I even had a prompt follow-up call after her test results came in and was able to pick up her prescription same day. Dr. Ross is a gentleman and a very good vet. First heard about him on our neighborhood "Nextdoor" blog. His name came up a lot, as one of the better vets in town. We have been taking our three dogs to him for about five years. One of the things we really liked most about him, is that he looks for practical ways to save money, keeps meticulous records and is gentle with our dogs. More than once he has suggested inexpensive over-the-counter remedies instead of some expensive prescriptions that I wanted them to renew. A particular ear wash solution comes to mind and an ointment as I recall. Anyway, a good place to take our sweet pups. read more

Our pets love Dr. Ross and his medical staff. His office was the only place we could find affordable for sedated teeth cleaning ($250) for our tiny dog. He takes special care of her because of some of her medical issues. He's very gentle and holds and talks to the animals before examining them. Although they are still called Montgomery Village Vet, they are no longer located across the street from the MV shopping center. Just a few minutes East now, in a little converted house. We'll be seeing him in about a week! I do have to concur with other posters on one thing.. The old "older front desk lady". For years and years I absolutely hated calling the office or having to deal with her in person or on the phone. So glad she has been replaced. I'm not sure how/why she was there for so long. Even my pets didn't care for her. I think they could sense her "energy" or something, lol. Looking forward to meeting new front desk person. read more

A couple of years ago my cat, Lobo was attacked by the neighborhood Bobcat. He had been missing for 3 days, and upon returning home he met me on the patio with puncture wounds, and one of his eyes was protruding from its socket about 3/4 of an inch. It didn't even resemble an eye. He also had a fractured jaw. I rushed him to Dr. Ross and staff, they preformed emergency surgery, and saved his life. Since that day, I have taken all of our dogs and cats to Montgomery Village Veterinary. I wouldn't trust their lives with anyone else.
