    Cooper!

Dr.Pangburn and her staff are phenomenal!! Highly recommend. I started taking my dog there after hopping around vets not loving any previous. The entire office is welcoming and super caring. So far he has gotten vaccinations and a dental cleaning and I have loved their consistent communication and true care for your animal. Can't speak highly enough about the entire staff.

Brought my dog I. For her wellness check up Dr. Ratekin was so thorough. She checked things that the other vet didn't. She made recommendations for snacks, food, insurance along with overall concerns. I appreciated her candidness. She was gentle with my girl. The rest of the staff was just as welcoming and efficient.

All you can do is leave a voicemail and they never call you back. Check out UC Davis. It is 1.5 hours away from Santa Rosa. But they have the best team and technology when it comes to cancer and other things. My dog's primary vet told me he has never had patient that survived their cancer treatment process. My brother in law brought his dog to UC Davis 5 years ago. He was diagnosed with mouth cancer. UC Davis cured him 5 years ago and they have never looked back. Dog is doing great now 5 years later. VCA would have just helped bring your dog to deaths door step. Not one good comment on here about the oncology program. That is because they ignore most call to the oncology department and never call you back. We need to get a group together and take legal matters on VCA. Message me if you have had a bad experience that made outcomes worse for your pet because of VCA. What they could improve? Have actual designated person to take calls and messages for the oncology department, also give more options than just pumping people pets full of drugs. UC Davis did a far better job. They did not just drug our pets so we wouldn't be able to tell there was something wrong.

Was contacted by the vet assistant/ "office manager" , Louis, that I had been rude to the receptionist . He was unprofessional and very inapprorpate in how he handled this. He was aggressive, rude and never asked me for my recollection of said two occurrences. Not willing to listen when I tried to ask about it or suggest my rememberence. Was told this was now "in my file", and was basically on probation, like a schoolchild. I was never rude nor did I use profanity, which I was accused of. Don't understand why this happened. I do recall that the receptionist was annoyed that I called to change a "walk in " and I (politely) asked for an appointment. She acted inconvenienced. I still was not unkind. I responded to the office manager that I would find another vet for the future and he said " good". To add further insult, I then received an email that they were "terminating my services , due to inappropriate behavior etc etc". I told them I would not return - why did they need to send that to me ? He needs training regarding the proper way to handle situations like that In the future. I do not recommend their services.

I scheduled and canceled Ollie's euthanasia appointment four different times because I just wasn't ready, and they never once made me feel guilty or pressured. They even allowed me to arrive and then back out when I couldn't go through with it. That level of kindness and humanity is something I will never forget. When the time finally came, they gave Ollie such a peaceful, dignified passing, and gave me the space and support I needed. I also want pet owners to be aware that many veterinary clinics today are owned by VCA Animal Hospitals, which is part of Mars Corp. the same company behind well-known candy brands. Since that corporate takeover, many practices have become more expensive with vets and staff paid commissions on what procedures they sell! Wine Country Veterinary Hospital is independent and not owned by VCA/Mars, and it truly shows not only in their fair pricing, but in the genuine, heartfelt care they give. I am deeply grateful to have found a place that still puts compassion first. Thank you for helping me through one of the most painful moments of my life.

It's ok, I should have left after the adenoma removal, and certainly after the brutal blood draw from his jugular vein coupled with the first appearance of ringworm ( not their fault, they say). I believe my elderly, house dog who only goes out to the yard just got a second ringworm infection there, and of course, they deny it. However they can't deny the results of a simple adenoma removal surger, or this swollen julgular vein from a chem panel draw. It got worse, not better, until the vet prescribed antibiotics. Their attitude is 'prove it'. You've been warned.

During the exam, Dr. Bove repeatedly called my dog a "bad girl" because she wasn't allowing her legs to be manipulated. My dog was diagnosed with hip problems, and we were sent home with pain medication. Just two days later, on July 4th, I woke up to my dog vomiting and urinating blood throughout my home. I rushed her to the Emergency Animal Hospital in Santa Rosa, where she was diagnosed with a severe bladder infection and bladder stones. She is now scheduled for surgery tomorrow. This is a very serious condition, and I'm devastated that the issue I specifically asked to have evaluated was not identified during our visit. I trusted that her symptoms would be thoroughly investigated, and instead her condition worsened to the point of becoming an emergency. I'm sharing my experience so other pet owners can make informed decisions. If your pet seems like something isn't right, trust your instincts and don't hesitate to seek a second opinion.
