I would simply like to reinforce my 5-star review of Nov. 8th of 2025. As I noted then (and repeat it now) both Dr. Williams and his wife, Dr. Schweid are Graduates of the University of California Veterinary Center at Davis, the most respected Veterinary Medicine School....period. Also, Wikiup Veterinary Hospital has yet-another great veterinarian on its roster, and that is Dr. Miconi who has been part of this great team for years now. There is also a totally professional supportive staff that goes out of its way to ensure the vary best of care. They are knowlegeable, respectful, and thorough in their treatment of the pet owners. I could go on and on, but I will add that the entire staff goes out of its way to make their Pet Owners know that they are valued. read more

Everyone is nice, efficient and knowledgeable. I have been using them for years. They treat all the patients as they would their own pets.

They gave my dog the wrong medication for weeks, causing him to develop bad reactions to the medication. We took our dog to a specialist instead and the specialist had us stop the medication immediately (and criticized the hospital's reccomondation of that medication). Within a few days the dog's condition improved dramatically. I would not recommend them to any pet owner. read more

I had my girl Charlie spade here. Their office staff was very friendly as well as the admitting tech. I met with Dr Williams before surgery as he did the physical exam. They called and text me throughout the procedure and kept me informed on Charlies condition. Dr Williams was also the best price in Sonoma County for spaying. Everything went well! Very professional and kind staff!!! Took my Chihuahuas in after a seizure. They were very on top of things and recommended blood work amongst other things. They were very helpful in explaining to me the risks and benefits of each treatment for her seizures. The doctor was very patient with me. Three and a half years ago I rescued a 10 year old Maltese mix who was incredibly medically complex. He's blind, has a bad back, a heart murmur, skin issues, rotten teeth, and is generally a little crusty. I love him more than life itself. I originally took him to another vet in town for his establish care visits, and inquired about his teeth (knowing that they'd need to be pulled) and I was quoted 3500-6500. That's a wild amount of money, but honestly, I'd do anything for him. It's just me (as in I'm not married) so over the last few years I've grown in my career and one of the biggest reasons is so I could afford his teeth without going into major debt. I honestly didn't think it would ever happen, and I had a hard time thinking that beans may live his life with a painful mouth. A friend referred me to wikiup because of the care their dog received for a dental and I have to say, it's the best referral I've ever had. Transferring care for beans was easy, and they have fit me in for a last minute visit once when his back was acting up. He just got his teeth done and the amount was unbelievably low compared to the market. Not only is he doing great, but the ease of the structure of the visit was wonderful too. My last vet asked for a blood panel to be done prior as well as X-rays, meaning that cost wasn't included. Wikiup did his X-rays, his blood work after he got checked in. They called me after the blood work to let me know they were starting the procedure and he was done within a few hours. Beans did great, they gave me everything I needed, and he's a few days out but getting back to normal. Beans gets to have less pain because they are doing this work at a reasonable rate, and I can't even express my gratitude. I know they could be charging more, in fact way more, but choosing not to is a gift to your community and the animals you serve. I have recommended them to everyone I know, over and over again. I love Wikiup, such amazing staff and vets! I usually don't speak so highly of vet hospitals, I used to work in veterinary medicine and I always found issues, but not here! They almost always manage to squeeze me in when my pets are having issues which is a big plus for me since my pets are occasionally problematic lol. Dr. Erich Williams is fantastic, he helped my leopard gecko who was having eye problems as well. I had never heard of a vet being able to do surgery on a gecko, but alas he did and she's been doing great ever since. They also have great prices compared to hospitals I've been to. If I could give them a zero stars I would. Rae called to confirm my appt tomorrow for my dogs xrays. I had additional questions about his sedation and the amount of meds I should give him. At the end of the call, we said good bye; however, she forgot to hang up the phone. I heard her complain and talk about me to her co-worker. She was dropping F bombs, talking a lot of smack about me, joking to her coworker, saying things like, "Yeah give your dog too much so he will F'ing overdose". She was talking about me like I was an idiot. The woman she was talking to was laughing and making snide comments as well along with more F bombs. I am done with this vet! I cannot believe the way these ladies were talking about me. So unprofessional. If you want to be treated with respect, go somewhere else. There is no bullying what so ever by my. I guess if the owner doesn't like what you say she will say you are a bully and call you names. I am just stating my experience. Also I understand you were busy but that is no excuse to be rude to people. You would think instead of calling someone names you would try to make it better. But I guess not. The front desk receptionist was very rude. I had originally made an appointment that I had to wait for a few weeks to get seen. I had to change for my other dog to get seen because she started to limp and I wanted her to get checked out sooner, but the receptionist was reluctant to make the change but ended up doing it anyway. She had told my partner who took the dog to the vet that someone would be out to get her but no one showed. She ended up calling and they told her that it was too late for the dog to be seen now even though they had forgotten about her. Mind you the appointment was at 9am and when my partner called it was 9:15am and they said it was too late for her to be seen now. Very unprofessional rude desk receptionist. read more

Bad news. I have seven pets so I'm taking ALL of their time. Jokes aside, I'm an intense pet mom and I trust them completely with my three dogs and four cats. Yes I know, I have an animal rescue problem. Fortunately this vet is always in my corner. When I call them with a worry they take it seriously. They have been nothing but a help and pleasure to our family. This is our fourth vet we have tried. This is the first time I feel fully confident. They have handled worms, earmites, fleas, spay, neuter, skin allergy and probably more that I don't remember at the moment. I moved to Santa Rosa in Dec. and I did a lot of research before giving Wikiup Vet Hospital a try (our long time vet is in Napa). We have 4 senior rescue dogs, and I decided to start by bringing my smallest dog in because she's pretty healthy. Since I hadn't been to Wikiup before, I wasn't sure what to expect for the process during COVID. So as I waited for them to come out, I made a list of the things I was hoping the vet could address. I put the most concerning things first - my dog had developed a limp, she was getting more anxious when we left the house, and I wondered about getting her on some meds for arthritis. The last thing I wrote was a concern about my dog peeing in the house as she got older, and I thought maybe there was a bladder control medication that could help her. The tech came out to get my dog and she was very nice. A couple minutes later the vet called me on the phone. The very first thing she said, in a really judgmental voice, was "So you brought your dog in because she's peeing in the house." I told her that she was mistaken because that was the least of my concerns. She then said, in the same condescending voice, "I can't get to ALL these things on your list." I said that was okay, and told her what the most important concerns were to address. She then proceeded to easily address everything on my list, so I'm not sure what the problem was. She took her time to talk with me about each issue, and my dog ended up getting an x-ray on her leg and some helpful medications for arthritis and anxiety. I gave two stars because although ultimately my dog got everything she needed, my first impression of Wikiup was a vet that treated me in a condescending and judgmental manner. First impressions are so important, and that really ruined it for me. I'm a pretty savvy dog owner and I go to the vet (and spend a lot of money!) often with my senior dogs. I want only the best for my current dogs and all the sweet dogs I will adopt in the future. It's stressful enough worrying about health issues in senior dogs and I don't need a vet who treats me like I'm a bother. I will continue my search for a great vet in this area. read more

My 10 yr old Cavalier KC Spaniel, Sophie, has not been well of late. I brought her to Wikiup vet clinic in Santa Rosa. She had a cough, skin irritations on all paws, was limping on her front paws, throwing up, and chewing on her outer thighs and inside thighs and genital area. I paid almost $1000 for the initial visit and a follow u appt. Sophie had already been diagnosed by another vet with mitrovalve prolapse and an enlarged heart, along with 95% of all cavaliers by the age of 10. It's a longer story, but It won't help in describing what happened to Sophie and me yesterday. I had a second follow up with Dr Lisa Schweid on Fri at 3pm. For unclear reasons, the appt. had been cancelled. So no check up of Sophie's itching, throwing up etc. And no possibility for another appt for over the next 2 weeks. The tech I talked to, Andrea, was very hostile, offered no monetary relief and basically said, tough luck. Lovely experience, NOT! No more at Wikiup! Quit them! Horrible device, horrible receptionists !!! read more

This facility when I first went was great but something happened. The staff when my dog had a health crisis basically talked to me as if my dog wasn't going to make it. The vet tech even tried talking me into ending it early (dog has been extremely healthy and almost fully recovered). We spoke after all this to the vet and she waved it off with a half-a$$ed apology. When you look at their inventory for meds it is on a come and go basis because the vets do not keep stocked meds. They use whatever free sample is offered and best discount for them to purchase not the best and cost efficient for your pet. Eastern vet med will tell you if you change a dogs diet and standard meds it can increase their aging as dogs are used to a regular diet (generally). As someone who was trained by a farm care based vet who handled everything from horses and cows to cats and dogs, this vet office is scarily slipping and I feel they are no longer safe for my family and others. read more

They will neuter, microchip, and vaccinate your cat and turn around and lose it but still charge you. They will also double charge you and claim that it was their system and that it double charged everyone that day and tell you that you need to dispute it with you bank. Then the bank won't give you the credit. Lastly, if they don't like you they will tell you they have no appointments for a month but will give other people same day appointments. It's been such a hassle dealing with them... go somewhere else. read more

I've gone here for awhile, I have 2 dogs. Bella, a lab/pit mix has been my costly one, even tho Mia my other dog is a special needs and I thought would be my most costly dog. Anyway, Bella had her first surgery, after she swallowed a squeaky toy. Next she started limping after exercise, and ended up having TPLO Surgery on one of her back legs. I was told it was genetic and would happen to the other leg, probably in the next 18 months. Sure enough her other leg did start to go out. So, she had another surgery. Bella still gets excited and is so happy to go to the vets. You'd think she'd be a little scared. They must be doing something right for her to be so happy when we go. All these surgeries have been expensive, Wikiup worked with me and helped me get Credit Care. I am very grateful I found them. read more

All of the staff at this veterinary hospital are super nice and helpful. One of my dogs is huge and very scared to go in when he knows it's the vet. Every time whoever comes out is super patient and helpful to get him inside in a non traumatic way. I used to take him to VCA and they'd just stand by while I dragged him inside and it was such an awful experience. Whenever I have a question, the doctors here call personally to answer and explain things to me. One of my dogs has to be on medication for life so they set me up with a compound pharmacy that sends me his medication every 2 months. It's just been such a good experience taking my dogs there, I know that they will communicate everything that needs to be done and they even printed out some literature for me about the disease that my dog has. They're very personable and I will continue to have my pets cared for at this place! read more

What a shame..... Our experience is like others have stated. Unfortunately, this veterinary facility has gone down hill so rapidly we no longer trust them with our loved ones. We've have been coming to Wikiup for over 7 years and now we'll go no more. The office management has really given this once great facility a " black eye". I wouldn't be surprised if Dr. Williams is clueless to the destruction the front office is causing his business. As clients we asked to speak to the Dr. and we were told - " not possible " Truly amazing coming from a facility that charges the prices they do and treating clients that paid those costs for over 7 years. Our friends went elsewhere and urged us to do the same. We wanted to have faith in Wikiup but as pet owners we must trust and be assured our loved ones are in good hands. When the front office treats long time clients poorly, it's a cause for pause in how our loved ones then might be treated. Believe me, customers " do not " come first at Wikiup. Was told the neuter for my dog would be $155. Asked for a detailed invoice the day of to be sent over and never got one. Assumed the $155 was still correct. When my husband picked up he paid around $320. I had originally thought it was $350. When I talked to the vet he argued with me saying "well what is it $350? $320 ? You keep changing the price" . SERIOUSLY? I don't have the invoice in front of me but- really nice of the vet to argue with me already mad they were charged double and then get into it over a 30 or so $ difference. I work 3 jobs to take care of my family and my dogs. It would be nice to be told about a double in price or sent the invoice I had asked for if it was different. read more

Then due to having to fix my attic after the Tubbs fire, I met and solicited advice from my across the street neighbor. It turned out she worked at Wikiup Vet on Friday and Saturday. Well we just went in yesterday. What a great hospital and what a great, thorough and gentle Dr. We found another winner here. For many years I have gone to Wikiup Vet and have been very happy with them. Years ago I was looking for a new Vet as I had POui a Cocker Spaniel that did not like Vets, she had been treated poorly by them. A co-worker recommended Wikiup Vet to me so I gave them a try. The staff is very welcoming and friendly and Dr. Williams was different, he took his time with POui and even sat on the floor at her level. I was very impressed that he did that. Dr. Williams has been our Vet ever since. My POui has been gone for years now as well as dogs number (2) J.J. and (3) Shyanne and now I have number (4) Boomer. One day Dr. Williams was not available to see Boomer and Dr. Schweid was. I know way back when she was very good with POui, she was able to remove a foxtail from her nose without having to put her out to do it. POui sat there and let her probe her nose until she found the foxtail. I was super impressed. Now Dr. Schweid is wonderful with Boomer, she loves on him and cuddles with him. She spoils him greatly, I have never seen a Vet be so affectionate and of course Boomer eats it up. I have been taking my animals to the Vet since the late 1950's and have come across a few bad ones, Wikiup is the good one for sure. read more

I absolutely love Wikiup Vet so much! I have taken all of my animals here and have recommended then to so many friends and family, which they cant vouch to love to. They staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful whenever I have a question or concern. The Doctors are very nice and caring for all animals and will only do what they think is best for each pet. They are understanding and patient when it comes to people's fur babies and will do everything in their power to help. Wikiup Vet Hospital has always come through for us! We love ALL of their staff but Dr. Erich Williams has a special place in our family's heart! We can't say enough good things about him! It was what they did for one of our beloved cats that definitely cinched the deal of what an upstanding & caring hospital they run. One of our male cats was blocked & couldn't pee. Dr. Williams did what he had to do to unblock him only for him to come home & within a few days become blocked again, something that is , unfortunately, quite common with this problem. This happened 2 more times, with Dr. Williams unblocking him & our cat coming home & becoming blocked again within a few days. Because he wouldn't stay unblocked, the next step was an expensive surgery that would open up his ureter, but which we we could not afford. We resigned ourselves that this was it for our beloved kitty. The euthanasia appointment was all scheduled & we brought him in as ready to do what had to be done as one can be in these extremely difficult situations. I was already a mess in the exam room crying, telling him how much we'd miss him & giving him little head-butts (he's deaf, so we've found interesting ways to communicate with him). When Dr. Williams came in, it wasn't to euthanize him, but to ask if he could try to unblock him just one more time, at no cost to us! I was shocked, taken aback by his generosity & of course elated at this turn of events! Although, I truly believe that at this point the mission to heal our cat had become personal to him! LOL! Well, after a ton of prayers & complete faith in the staff at Wikiup our kitty, Santiago, came home for the 3rd time & STAYED UNBLOCKED! Now, when I look at him I'm always reminded of Dr. Williams. Because of his kindness & his perseverance we are blessed to still have our special Santiago in our lives! Wikiup Veterinary Hospital is the real deal! They are sincere in their mission of helping animals out of true love & empathy! We feel so privileged to have them as our veterinary clinic! read more
