    Beans

Three and a half years ago I rescued a 10 year old Maltese mix who was incredibly medically complex. He's blind, has a bad back, a heart murmur, skin issues, rotten teeth, and is generally a little crusty. I love him more than life itself. I originally took him to another vet in town for his establish care visits, and inquired about his teeth (knowing that they'd need to be pulled) and I was quoted 3500-6500. That's a wild amount of money, but honestly, I'd do anything for him. It's just me (as in I'm not married) so over the last few years I've grown in my career and one of the biggest reasons is so I could afford his teeth without going into major debt. I honestly didn't think it would ever happen, and I had a hard time thinking that beans may live his life with a painful mouth. A friend referred me to wikiup because of the care their dog received for a dental and I have to say, it's the best referral I've ever had. Transferring care for beans was easy, and they have fit me in for a last minute visit once when his back was acting up. He just got his teeth done and the amount was unbelievably low compared to the market. Not only is he doing great, but the ease of the structure of the visit was wonderful too. My last vet asked for a blood panel to be done prior as well as X-rays, meaning that cost wasn't included. Wikiup did his X-rays, his blood work after he got checked in. They called me after the blood work to let me know they were starting the procedure and he was done within a few hours. Beans did great, they gave me everything I needed, and he's a few days out but getting back to normal. Beans gets to have less pain because they are doing this work at a reasonable rate, and I can't even express my gratitude. I know they could be charging more, in fact way more, but choosing not to is a gift to your community and the animals you serve. I have recommended them to everyone I know, over and over again. I just want to say thank you a million times. Beans says thank you too.

I absolutely love the doctors here and the staff is very helpful and friendly. I travel from Rohnert Park, but it's worth it because I know my doggies will be receiving the ultimate in care here. Oh, and they don't charge an arm and a leg for visits, either! Highly recommended.

Everyone is nice, efficient and knowledgeable. I have been using them for years. They treat all the patients as they would their own pets.

All you can do is leave a voicemail and they never call you back. Check out UC Davis. It is 1.5 hours away from Santa Rosa. But they have the best team and technology when it comes to cancer and other things. My dog's primary vet told me he has never had patient that survived their cancer treatment process. My brother in law brought his dog to UC Davis 5 years ago. He was diagnosed with mouth cancer. UC Davis cured him 5 years ago and they have never looked back. Dog is doing great now 5 years later. VCA would have just helped bring your dog to deaths door step. Not one good comment on here about the oncology program. That is because they ignore most call to the oncology department and never call you back. We need to get a group together and take legal matters on VCA. Message me if you have had a bad experience that made outcomes worse for your pet because of VCA. What they could improve? Have actual designated person to take calls and messages for the oncology department, also give more options than just pumping people pets full of drugs. UC Davis did a far better job. They did not just drug our pets so we wouldn't be able to tell there was something wrong.

Was contacted by the vet assistant/ "office manager" , Louis, that I had been rude to the receptionist . He was unprofessional and very inapprorpate in how he handled this. He was aggressive, rude and never asked me for my recollection of said two occurrences. Not willing to listen when I tried to ask about it or suggest my rememberence. Was told this was now "in my file", and was basically on probation, like a schoolchild. I was never rude nor did I use profanity, which I was accused of. Don't understand why this happened. I do recall that the receptionist was annoyed that I called to change a "walk in " and I (politely) asked for an appointment. She acted inconvenienced. I still was not unkind. I responded to the office manager that I would find another vet for the future and he said " good". To add further insult, I then received an email that they were "terminating my services , due to inappropriate behavior etc etc". I told them I would not return - why did they need to send that to me ? He needs training regarding the proper way to handle situations like that In the future. I do not recommend their services.

I scheduled and canceled Ollie's euthanasia appointment four different times because I just wasn't ready, and they never once made me feel guilty or pressured. When the time finally came, they gave Ollie such a peaceful, dignified passing, and gave me the space and support I needed. I also want pet owners to be aware that many veterinary clinics today are owned by VCA Animal Hospitals, which is part of Mars Corp. the same company behind well-known candy brands. Since that corporate takeover, many practices have become more expensive with vets and staff paid commissions on what procedures they sell! Wine Country Veterinary Hospital is independent and not owned by VCA/Mars, and it truly shows not only in their fair pricing, but in the genuine, heartfelt care they give. I am deeply grateful to have found a place that still puts compassion first. Thank you for helping me through one of the most painful moments of my life.
