Great service by and they didn't even charge me anything! Last Saturday night our well pump stopped working so I called Monticello as well as a bunch of other companies. 7:30 Sunday morning Monticello was the first to call me back (some places took days) and immediately offered to help me troubleshoot the issue over the phone. Over the phone he actually taught me how to use a voltage meter we had in our tool box. Then he explained we had an electrical issue we needed to resolve (and to call an electrician for that). We called an electrician, got the unit working. But then the next Saturday night it stopped working again. So I called him back again this morning (Sunday again) and he explained what the electrical issue could be. Over the phone he actually helped the electrican narrow down the problem (he doesn't know too much about wells and was incorrect in his original theory about what was causing the malfunction). So Monticello saved the electrican a lot of time troubleshooting the wrong thing which also helped us get the water on faster. We ended up needing to use a different breaker on the electrical board, so it so far doesn't seem to be a well issue at all, and our water is back on at the moment! I think these guys are just great. I was having an issue with my water pressure. since I am on a well, there aren't too many well water guys in the area, I called Monticello. I spoke to Paul (the owner?) on the phone, who walked me through a few things for free in order to try and save me some dough. Not many other businesses are willing to go to that length just to help out. I ended up needing my pump replaced and Jason (master plumber) came out, was on time and worked fast! Don't waste your time with any other plumbing company in Northern Virginia... The Monticello Plumbing team arrived on time, were professional and efficient. My well water pump went out the day before Thanksgiving leaving me without water for the holiday. The following Friday I called around a couple of places only to be taken advantage of with price quotes well over 5,000 dollars. After several failed attempts to reach an agreement with companies located in Fredericksberg, I reached out to Monticello Pump Services in Manassas. I talked to Paul (the company's owner) who was very patient in walking me through a couple of DIY troubleshooting methods that suggested that the well pump had failed and would most likely need to be replaced. He quoted me a price that was half of what others were trying to get over on me despite him not being present to completely diagnose the problem. I scheduled the appointment for Saturday at 8:00AM; the company's day off. Paul and his team arrived at my residence in Stafford exactly at 8:00AM. Paul immediately greeted me with a smile and was very kind to my wife and children who were also present. He then began to walk me through the process of replacing the pump while his team wasted no time in already getting started. Not once was I prompted to stay out of their way or excluded from observing their operation of service. When the time came to install the new pump, Paul walked me through what type of pump he was going to use, the history of the company who makes the pump, the company's reputation, and the pumps quality, service life and warranty. The team installed the new pump, a new wire, and secured all loose components to ensure maximum life of pump operation. As his team was finishing up, Paul handed me the bill for the service and to my surprise, was even lower than what he quoted me the day prior. There is something to be said about a company that will go out of their way to work on their day off, remain professional, perform quality service, beat the competition in pricing, and use quality components; all the while completing the service in under three hours. Exceptional value and some of the best customer service I've experienced. I had a waterlogged pressure tank. I called Monticello in Manassas first because Jason had helped me diagnose a problem with cloudy water a few years ago (free of charge). Jason was again more than happy to help me troubleshoot over the phone, free of charge. Once we determined it was waterlogged, he quoted me a a price on a replacement. I did my diligence and I called four different well and/or pump services and got quotes from all. Monticello the least expensive for the same equipment (Well-X-Trol). I called Jason back and scheduled service. He showed-up right on time and he and Jose had the old tank out and the new tank running in a couple of hours. The job was done extremely cleanly with great attention to detail and the hauled away my old equipment without a trace. I can't recommend Jason and his team enough. read more

After having a very bad experience with another company trying to gouge us, we ran into a problem when trying to get the pumps that we installed in our septic tank by ourselves. We called Monticello to have them come out, and instead of taking the easy money, Paul helped us troubleshoot the electrical issue ourselves over the phone. Finally got him on the phone for 5 minutes and he yelled some advice at me, I tried what he suggested and called him back as instructed and then he blew me off for the rest of the night. Never followed through, left me in a bind, and clearly didn't give a crap. I would rather a company tell me they can't help or are too busy then string me along for days. Don't bother with this loser, he's not worth it! And based on his response below, he's full of it. I asked for a service call since day one but was told they had other jobs to do and as a consolation prize would try to help over the phone. After a huge storm and a power outage last night, we had no running water after the power came back on. We have well and septic so no water, toilets, etc., and there are 9 of us! I called the office at about 8:30pm and talked to the office; Jason called me back within an hour. He patiently walked me through some troubleshooting steps over the phone, but no good results. He said he would call between 7:30-8:00 this morning to let me know when he could come out today. He called as expected and said he would be out between 1pm and 3pm. He arrived on time and went to work troubleshooting the problem. All systems were working properly, so he figured out there must be clogged pipe between the pump tank and the water conditioner. He drained the tank and cut out a section of pipe, which had a clog of about 20 inches of iron/mud. With Jason's quick replacement of PVC pipe, we were back in business, and he also replaced a drain faucet that had a leaky seal that the last pump/well company had just left there. No charge to fix that. He only charged for the service call and one hour of labor, extremely fair and honest! We now have 7 happy, clean bathed kids, running water and toilets. Our well pump died in the middle of the night, unfortunately it was a Saturday/Sunday. I called Monticello at 7:00 AM Sunday morning and my call was answered on the 3rd ring. Monticello rolled up my driveway by 11:00 AM and had all the necessary parts on the truck to replace my well pump. So, we've lived in our home since 2000 and Monticello has been caring for our home since 1994. Honestly, all I can say is that customer service is Paul's #1 priority! First, Paul provides great customer service. He is available 24 hours a day and picks up the phone. He patiently listens to your problem and doesn't hesitate to troubleshoot the problem over the phone. Second, he has great employees. Jason has worked with Paul for the past 15 years and for all I know even longer. In an era when employees come and go, It says a lot about a business when employees remain for an extended period of time. Next, he is very familiar with the weather events in your area. If you've had a major storm/ lightening or power outage, this could be the cause of your system going caput. Paul will determine if your problem is weather related and if so, he will work with your insurance company to resolve your claim. He is hands on and works from the beginning to the end of your claim. I recently had my well water tested and there were indications of bacteria in the water and a recommendation to shock chlorinate the system. I researched this on line and saw multiple opinions on doing yourself versus hiring someone. As part of my research I called Monticello Well Pump and talked to Jason. He quoted me a price to do the shocking but said this was something I should be able to do and offered to help walk me through the process on the phone. He also provided info on Monticello's step by step instructions on their web site which I followed to complete the job. Jason replied two other times to my contact to reassure me when I was uncertain of my ability to do this. I have so many positive things to say about this company, their honesty and professionalism! We live in Marshall, VA, and two days before Thanksgiving had not realized that our teenage son accidentally left the water spicket running outside, which of course ran our well dry. My husband and I looked online and tried to trouble shoot what we could, to no avail, not knowing that the spicket had been going all day. We had NO water...family had come into town and was staying with us...we could not start cooking/baking...could not shower. You can imagine our worry and frustration. We called Monticello at 11pm on Tuesday night and left a voicemail. Jason called back the next morning bright and early around 7am (the day BEFORE Thanksgiving). He came directly to our house, walked our property and of course immediately found the problem. Jason not only told us exactly what the issue was, but because he must have felt bad for our son, did not even charge us. Called Monticello at 4:20AM Super Bowl Sunday and the phone was answered by Paul the owner. Clearly I woke him from a dead sleep but he immediately worked with me over the phone to determine why I did not have water. He spent at least 45 minutes working me through diagnosing the problem which ended up being a loose fuse, the best we could determine. He refused to take any payment for his help which I would have gladly paid. He could have scheduled a service call which he felt was not necessary, he said he just wanted to get the water back on for my family. Stay away from this company - they are dishonest and incompetent! They would not stand behind their warranty on equipment and could not fix my well problems. One call to an honest well company and my problems were solved. They also fluctuated wildly in their labor cost with each visit and they initially cost over $2000 more than what we paid to have all of their work removed and reinstalled by a competent company. read more

Since the first day we moved into the home, I have turned to Monticello Pump for any and all services. Paul has always been accessible even at all hours of the night or morning. Several years ago, I had a main sewer line crack outside of the house and flooded the basement. Paul walked me through the safe guarding of the water system and had his folks on the issue the next morning. Yesterday evening, my well water pump failed. Called them and Jennifer put me in touch with Jason who called me right back. We took time to troubleshoot the problem and surmised it was the well pump. Since my elderly parents live with me, water is of the utmost importance. Jason rearranged schedules and knocked on my door at 8AM. They were done in two hours and I have running water again. First day in my new house and I've never had a septic system or well water. I thought I'd have time to study the issues but I was wrong. Saturday at 6 am the septic alarm woke me up (it may have been going off all night) and I'm sure my neighbors heard it as well. I called the emergency number on the pump in the basement and a very sleepy man (he sounded like he just went to bed) answered and he was a bit irritated. He told me how to shut off the alarm and tried to troubleshoot it but after 2 calls to him he was fed up with me and made an excuse not to be available to me further. I called my home warranty company and they set up a trouble ticket but said that they don't do emergencies and I'd have to wait til Monday. So I googled for help and came up with Monticello. Paul, the owner, answered personally and immediately. He was willing to come out but when I told him that I had a home warranty, he offered to help me troubleshoot the problem (to save me an emergency fee) and spent the next hour on the phone with me. He was very nice and very willing to do whatever it took to help me. He had me send him photos to identify the system and walked me through several steps. Long story short: he helped me find the water running into the system and shut it off. He was so kind and helpful and taught me quite a bit about septic systems along the way.
