First, thank you to the other Yelpers who reviewed this place. I was searching for excellent sushi…read moredelivery the night before surgery in Beverly Hills, which is not the moment you want to gamble on mediocre fish. The reviews steered me right -- this place is outstanding. Everything arrived beautifully packaged, almost like opening a curated box rather than typical takeout. The presentation alone was impressive: neatly organized compartments, pristine nigiri, and even a printed guide showing what each piece was. It felt thoughtful and elevated from the moment we opened it. The fish itself was exceptionally fresh. The salmon nigiri was buttery and soft, the tuna clean and vibrant, and the tekka maki perfectly balanced with tender rice and generous fish. Nothing felt rushed or sloppy -- every piece looked like it had just come off a sushi counter rather than out of a delivery bag. Even the small details stood out. The edamame was perfectly cooked, the sauces were neatly portioned, and everything traveled well without getting smashed or soggy. And because honesty matters in Yelp reviews: my Shiba Inu immediately stationed herself next to the tray and strongly endorsed the tekka maki. High praise. If you want high-quality sushi delivery in Beverly Hills that actually arrives looking and tasting like restaurant sushi, this place absolutely delivers. I'll be ordering again and again and again.

I ordered for pick-up at 11:30 and the initial notification from the restaurant stated my food would be ready by 11:45. I knew parking would be bad so I left a little early and at 11:24 I received a message saying my order was ready. If this was almost any other type of cold food, I think it would be fine to let the food sit and wait. But for hot foods or sushi like this, a 20 minute jump in time isn't great for someone expecting their order at least at 11:30 so although I appreciate my food being ready sooner, it's not always a good thing. The other issue is the kitchen or pick-up area. HiDozo Van Nuys is in a ghost kitchen set up with a tiny lobby and no signs or directions on whether you're even in the right space because you don't know which restaurants are here. I had to deal with 5-6 food delivery drivers that didn't know their heads from their asses and just hung out in the lobby. There is one girl working that is very sweet and trying to manage it all but this just isn't an ideal pick-up location. I ordered the Deep Dive box $54 along with an order of chu-toro $8 and unagi $8. There is no question that the food looks stunning and the presentation is exceptional. The bags and boxes are all high quality and better than what you typically find for takeout from Sugarfish. Sadly the actual sushi presented a mixed bag of feelings. I started with the tuna sashimi which was cut perfectly and tasted great, then moved onto some of the nigiri including the hotate, salmon, albacore, and hamachi. The fish is all absolutely delicious, buttery, rich, tender, and flavorful. The issue comes down to the rice. The rice is pretty dry and bland. It's also clear that nobody is hand forming this rice. It looks WAY too perfect and symmetrical, and every piece looks exactly the same. Even the most skilled sushi chef with decades of experience could not get sushi rice this exact every single time. So I did a little digging and videos on their Instagram don't show the rice ever being formed by the chefs. It's always ready and the chef simply takes it from one hand, adds the fish, and forms the fish over the rice, never once actually making the rice himself. Before I moved onto the tuna nigiri I had the unagi and although soft and buttery, it was ice cold and clearly not charred or grilled. For $8 (which mind you, is the same price as the chu-toro) I would've expected quality at the level of the chu-toro. As for the tuna nigiri they were all fantastic. At least, the fish was. The rice was still meh. The tuna, akami, toro, and chutoro were all buttery, soft, and you could definitely tell them apart. But sadly, once again, the rice was not great. Here's the kicker - the rice in the futomaki roll was actually good. I wouldn't doubt that the fresher rice is kept and used for the rolls because the texture and bite was so much better. The minced tuna was a delight and this was one of my favorites here. Overall, with the price of $70 before tax, it would be nice if HiDozo actually focused on the rice considering a chef of this stature wouldn't and shouldn't neglect the key component of sushi. Any person with a spec of food and cultural insight knows that "sushi" means vinegared rice so the toppings are a second to the rice and don't have to be fish or seafood related. But still, this isn't a place I would revisit or recommend.

I noticed that Delilah's had a 'drive-thru' back in July which of course I'm a few months late for…read more Seemed like a cool idea since they offered food I actually eat so I was down and placed an order on ChowNow through Lilah's website (lilahsdiner.com) That day, I felt like their Classic burger and shoestring fries would be most ideal. For some reason, the obvious wording on the description 'double pattied' slipped my mind and I encountered one huge-ass American cheese, special sauce+fixings burger busting out of its box. You also get a rather large portion of fries (shoestring is not my favorite but these were very good) but let's talk about this burger. I knew it was going to beat me; I would have been sufficient with one patty but even then, it was generously sized. Although it wasn't halved as I requested, it was prepared how I wanted it thankfully. This was also an extremely messy 4-napkin meal, so keep that in mind if you're on a date or something. The girl who brought the food out to me was great, thanks Mary! Returned about a week later to try the chicken tenders (minus fries this trip) and proceeded to gussy it up at home with mashed potatoes and vegetables. Fancy! *IMPORTANT* Although this concept is part of Delilah on 7969 Santa Monica Blvd, you actually pick up your order at Petite Taqueria, 755 N. La Cienega Blvd. So make sure you get this right by going to the correct restaurant. For some reason, I thought it was picked up at the Nice Guy (they're both on the same side of the street on La Cienega) but it's definitely Petite Taqueria, right next door to Poppy. There is a sign outside of this restaurant indicating this (see photos.) If you are getting delivery, simply ignore this last paragraph. Nobody picks up the phone listed on the site at any of the businesses that I tried (Delilah, Petite Taqueria, Lilah (two different numbers) so if you try to order by phone, most likely that won't happen. Their site connects you to ChowNow, but you can also order through Postmates (and probably others) for pickup/delivery. Minor increase of .01 on prices which is nothing new for such sites. 10/19-20: Just had my 3rd visit for a bacon bbq burger+fries. Another winner, this was a 2-napkin meal. Guy working today was great, I wish I would have gotten his name. Next time for sure. Everything I've tried has been pretty good, looking forward to the mac and cheese next. I'm not sure but this could be the same food that Delilah's prepares, just with a more fun, whimsical presentation, and a lower price point. I highly recommend!

The food was exactly what you want from a classic deli. What really stood out was the atmosphere and service. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and made us feel right at home. Great food, great service, and an all around great experience. Highly recommend.

I've…read morealways enjoyed the cozy, comfy booths inside, though they have almost as many tables outside for folks who like to dine al fresco. The staff is uniformly friendly, the place is clean as a whistle, and they have an impressively extensive menu for a small restaurant. I ordered the 2nd Avenue, which is their version of Langer's #19: Pastrami (or corned beef) on rye with Swiss, Cole Slaw, and Russian Dressing. The sandwich is a generous portion, and nicely composed: it's very easy for such a stack to fall apart, but theirs stays intact. The pastrami was warm and juicy without being fatty, and the Swiss had a nice funk that was tamed by the sweetness of the Russian Dressing. The final component, the Cole Slaw, was a really nice surprise: creamy, though the cabbage retained its crunch and enough of its true taste to give the usually-forgettable condiment some memorable character. The potato salad on the side was top quality, but had a bit too much egg and mustard for my taste. My wife's Breakfast Combo of Scrambled Eggs, French Toast, and Bacon was standard issue and nothing to write home about. In fact, it seemed on a completely different level than my sandwich, and you can get much better expressions of this diner staple at many other local places. I think at a deli like this, your best bet for breakfast is to stick with the "deli style" choices, such as Lox & Eggs & Onions or Pastrami & Eggs, etc. Our server, Crystal, was friendly and helpful and took very good care of us, checking in several times during the meal, even though the place got increasingly busy and she took on a bunch of other tables. She's a good egg. All in all, a nice lunch for me and a so-so breakfast for my wife. But we will be back before long, and I'm excited to see what the next visit will bring.
