Spent two nights camping in the state park. The bathrooms were well taken care of and the showers…read morewere nice and hot. The campsite was also in great shape with a perfect set up and plenty of space. We had a cool spot next to a trailhead that brought you down to the gorge. We hiked about 3.5 miles, including Jacob's ladder. Loved that we were able to grab a wine slushie along the way! Will be coming back as we are already planning our next trip!

I found the setting open and expansive, with clear sightlines across the water that changed character depending on the weather and season. The shoreline offered a mix of natural overlooks, parks, marinas, and small developed areas, giving me multiple ways to experience the lake rather than a single central viewpoint. The main highlight for me was the lake itself and the variety of ways to interact with it. The water felt calm and clean in many areas, and the region is especially known for boating, cruising, and lakeside relaxation. Along the surrounding shores, vineyards and wineries are a major part of the identity, and I stopped at a few for tastings with scenic views over the water. The small towns around the lake added to the experience, giving me access to picnic areas, walking paths, and casual waterfront spots where I could take in the lake at a slower pace. The experience around Seneca Lake was generally relaxed and spread out, with no single concentrated entry point or structured route. I took a boat tour from one of the marinas, which gave me a more immersive perspective on the water, and I also pulled over at roadside overlooks and shoreline parks for simpler, quieter moments. Crowds varied by season, with summer being more active and the time I visited feeling much quieter.

Love this town! Came with my boyfriend (interracial same sex couple) after walking Watkin's Glen…read morepark (breathtaking!). The impressive Montour falls draws the eye. This Thursday, there was a farmer's market with quality bakery items, cheeses, meats, honey, and produce. People were incredibly friendly and initiated conversation regularly. Very relaxed atmosphere with pride in their region (finger lakes, wine country, nascar setting, emerald necklace, etc.)
