    Me with some pumpkins

One of my fav pumpkin patches every year to go! Good parking and plenty of activities for kids to do. Although I wasn't able to eat any of their foods from the food trucks today (they were closed. maybe because it's a Thursday?) I'll have to go back to try some of the food truck food. :) overall, I had a great time on the hay ride and the apple cider donut was delicious.

I visited Montpelier Farms in Upper Marlboro on a Tuesday midday with a friend and brought my dog along for a little adventure. It was super easy to get tickets, and we had a blast with all the activities. I really enjoyed everything from the tractor trailer hayride to swinging a rope to catch the fake bull horns, playing basketball, bowling, and of course, going through the corn maze and sliding down the tube slide. My dog loved the fresh air and the walk around the farm. The hot cider with a donut on top was a sweet treat, even if I had to dodge a few bees. It's not far from D.C., and I'll definitely be returning next year. You don't need kids to enjoy it--it's perfect for anyone with an inner child, friends looking for a fun outing, or even a day out with your pets. Plus, it was very affordable. Highly recommend!

Admission for 3 people with the mega slide add on for 2 kids.

A fall festival in name and name only. At a price tag of $19.95 online and $26.95 at the door, not including add-ons, this place left a lot to be desired. Paid Attractions: Mega slide - $4 for one ride or $6 for unlimited pp. - this consists of two slides and was the highlight for my kids. Jump pad - $2pp Duck racing - $2pp Pumpkin chucking - $2pp Pumpkin painting -$6(pumpkin included) Free: Pig race - two people at a time. You pull a lever up and down to move it along. It got stuck often and the kids tired of it fairly quickly. Tug of war - standard 3 slides (all the same length) the slides are too dry to ride down they need sacks or a straw to work properly. Hayride - Standard Trikes that were on a graveled incline so you couldn't ride them. Maze - standard Multiple food options and a store but after spending $83 for admission and the unlimited slide there was no way I was adding to that total. The attractions were plenty but the quality overall was lacking at the price tag. I feel the price is inflated because it is the closest farm in the area but if you're willing to drive check out Butlers Orchard or Cox since you're spending the money anyway. I definitely won't be back here.

Came here for their fall festival. A bit underwhelming, for sure, for the price, I expected farm more. Get it? Anyway, this place has nothing on Miller Farms in Clinton. The various food stands were wack. Lemonade was terrible. Corn was terrible. Pizza was fine. So many components of the festival were half-baked or in need of updates/upgrades.

Had a lovely time during their fall festival. My grandson had a great time. He especially enjoyed playing on the trucks, tractors, and seeing the animals. Definitely check it out.

NOT THE BEES, NOT THE ______ BEES! To be fair to bees, we were not swarmed by bees (which are good) but yellowjackets (which are bad). There was no place on the farm where we could enjoy our food or drinks without getting swarmed by yellowjackets.

A friend and I attended Montpelier Farm's Fall Festival and had a great time. It's family friendly and there's something to do for all ages. Entry was inexpensive and we were able to ride the hay ride, visit the actual pumpkin patch, decorate pumpkins and enjoy fresh lemonade and popcorn! They also had a market onsite where other purchases could be made. My favorite part of the day was the pumpkin decorating, as I love artsy activities. I'd definitely recommend this place for a family fun outing.

Montpelier Farms is a farm about a 25-minute drive from Washington, D.C. My wife, toddler, friend, and I went on an October Saturday and found a fall harvest. Here's our experience: 1) Activities: The farm was set up well with tons of activities. They had a farmers market, climbing hay, a wooden train, a pumpkin patch, s'mores, crafts, food trucks, llamas, and so much more. The only thing is to access a lot of it, you had to pay $12. 2) Pumpkins: They have a wide variety of orange and white pumpkins set out on a hill. If you were expecting picking them off the vine, that isn't the case. They are all detached from the vine and thrown onto a hill for you to pick from. Our toddler LOVED this farm, but we were a little too cheap to pay to do all the activities. Instead, we walked around, played on the train, and picked pumpkins.

I provided my own light. No lighting or marked direction to/from bonfire area to activities in winter darkness.

Opened during the pandemic after the owners returned from Cameroon, Wild Kid Acres is a 5-acre farm of rescue animals. When you arrive, you feel like you're driving into someone's private driveway. Don't fret. Follow the "Wild Kid Acre" sign to park and the owner will greet you like a member of his family. The front area has a Little Free Library, a small playground with a slide and a climbing wall and an area with picnic tables and small farm animals like goats and chickens. Once you get your fill of love from the goats and chickens, the owner will guide you to the other animals- two pigs, a horse, a mini horse and cows. They ask that you don't pet them on the head and some are very nervous being rescue animals. Other than that, they are very friendly and love being around children. People can book an hour appointment online and it cost $15 per adult and $10 per child. Wild Kid Acres also hosts therapy sessions and goat yoga. With plenty of outdoor space to spread out, it's the perfect pandemic activity. If you need food, drive ten minutes into downtown Edgewater or further north to Annapolis.

Alpacas, a member of the camelid family, are smaller and nicer than llamas, a relative. Mainly, they don't spit, at least not intentionally. We found these alpacas to be sweet, soft and silly. It was a little difficult to find the farm. The entrance is not clearly marked and we made at least two wrong forays onto adjacent properties before finding the farm. Once there we were welcomed by Heather, one of the owners, who gave us a brief rundown before introducing us to some of their goats, sheep, turkeys, donkey. She led us to the paddocks where the alpacas were, giving us instructions on how to approach them, how to feed them, how to pet them. Most had been recently shorn and Heather provided us with feed and the alpacas eagerly ate from our outstretched palms. They were soft and plush, the females more delicate eaters and the males (separated in a different area) were gobblers. These are animals, not pets, so while they are gentle, they do have wills of their own. It was a warm day and the alpacas enjoyed a spray from the hose. It was funny to see how excited they were to feed (reminds me of my dogs) and they ran after Heather when she got the food. Afterwards, we went to the barn where Heather, a fiber artist, demonstrated how the alpaca fur can be mixed with other fibers, how the wool is felted, and how it can be spun into yarn. There are textiles, yarn, garments for sale. Reservations are required. Sign up for the first time slot. Our tour ran over by 30 minutes and the next group had to wait. It is a picturesque drive to the farm but keep in mind that it turns into a two lane road through country lanes. We had left plenty of time for the drive but with our misdirected turnarounds and some road construction we ended up cutting it close.
