I've used Montway multiple times to have cars shipped when purchasing them on line. Took 10 calendar days from the date I paid them to have the car picked up this time. (estimate when signing was "1-several days". Car was available immediately so it wasn't due to the seller being difficult. They outsourced it to TAT Auto Transport. I paid for an enclosed trailer. The car was loaded clean, I have photos. it arrived filthy, covered in spray and road salt. The "enclosed" trailer had canvas sides which were ripped in places and with many gaps. I might as well have had it shipped up in an open trailer and saved a few hundred dollars. Need to rethink using them in the future. read more

On 12/26/25, I signed a contract & paid in full for Montway to pick up a vehicle & deliver it by 1/3/26. Today is 1/3/26 & I just got off the phone with Montway. Montway hasn't even found a driver to hire yet. The dispatcher said they are still "negotiating" with drivers. There is no ETA for hiring a driver... ...let alone for that driver to pick up the vehicle... ...let alone for delivery of the vehicle. I was told that if it takes a couple weeks more, that is still within the "estimated" due date of TODAY. These people are con artist. I called for transport for my truck a week ago on Sunday come Thursday they still couldn't find anyone and I needed that truck off that property on Friday. They do not communicate and I was in a pinch and had to pay$175.00 to have truck towed. to another location. Now I am paying a storage fee on top of it till I can get another transport company. Then pay those fees. If it wasn't for me pressing the issue. That truck would of been impounded and good luck of me tracking that truck down. They never picked up the car. They represented that I needed to provide a window of 1-5 business days for a window. I did that. They charged my credit card but then never again contacted me. I called on day 3 to find out when the car would be picked up. They said they still had not found a carrier. I asked why not; I live in the fourth largest city in America so it should not be hard to find carriers driving through. She had no explanation but said she would put "priority" on my order. I heard nothing more. I called again on Friday. Representative (Michael) could not tell me when car would be picked up. I said I could wait as late as Sunday but then would have to cancel. My car that had just come out of my trusted mechanic and body shops in Houston, Texas arrived in Massachusetts with steering damage. Whatever had been done on the trip also damaged the steering column lock in the ignition switch. My daughter signed for it not knowing that it was damaged and ended up with almost $2K of repair bills. They are a big company. I had seen good reviews for them. This is the 4 th time I have shipped my car with Montway and definitely the last. Their communication is terrible. I had to keep calling them. They wait until the last minute to find a carrier. I had a guaranteed pickup for last Friday! They picked it up and stored in on a lot in Atlanta until Monday when they found a carrier. Was delivered on Tuesday instead of Saturday. I am a single woman, traveling alone and was without a car and my belongings in it for over 4 days! Everyone I know has had issues with this company! The car arrived damaged, 3 months ago. Been trying since to have them deal with it. No luck yet. i got an initial estimate. They agreed to pay it, but when I asked what happens if it's actually higher, they said theyll work with me. "Don't worry". But at the same time, to get the estimate payment, you need to sign a doc that says you can't ask for more and cant sue them. Now that the body shop took a closer look, the price has more than doubled to $8500. Still waiting on Montway. Bottom line - they're ok unless there is a problem. read more

I hired Montway to ship my car from the Houston area to Reno, Nevada and deliver it to an apartment complex. Both Montway and the driver indicated the delivery would take about 5-8 days (the driver specifically said 5-6), so I scheduled pickup for a Thursday/Friday because I knew I wouldn't be in Reno until Tuesday morning. Despite me making that clear, the driver arrived in just three days--on a Sunday night around 9 PM--two full days earlier than expected. Since it was Sunday night, the apartment office was closed and there was no management available, and all the visitor parking was already taken. The driver parked the car under a covered spot and claimed it must be visitor parking because there were no numbers on the ground, but I could immediately tell from the photo that it was premium resident parking--most apartments charge for covered spots--and I could see the spot numbers posted overhead instead of painted on the pavement. I was worried the car would be towed, and the only other option was to move it into an empty but numbered resident spot and hope it didn't belong to someone. First thing Monday morning I called the office, explained the situation, and thankfully they were willing to contact the tenant whose spot the car was in to confirm it could stay there until we arrived Tuesday. The tenant agreed, and I had the driver leave the key in the gas-cap area since the fob can't be locked inside the car. When we finally arrived Tuesday morning, I found the passenger-side window rolled all the way down. Nothing was stolen, but we did have items in the car that could easily have been taken. Overall, this felt completely avoidable--if I had been given an accurate, or even reasonably close, delivery estimate, arriving two days early late on a Sunday night wouldn't have created a parking, security, and key-handoff situation like this. read more

As countless others have said, Montway are "brokers" and therefore have NO control over the transportation of your vehicle. Rather than making an honest effort to resolve customer issues, they rely on the fine print to absolve them of any responsibility for anything. Read the complaints here, the BBB, Reddit, etc. and you will get a clear sense that the Google reviews are manipulated or flat out falsified. Montway provides inaccurate information regarding insurance coverage during transport, and makes the process prohibitively difficult to stymie those with legitimate complaints. Further, they repeatedly make claims regarding the shipping time, the quality of service, etc. but fail to deliver, and again, refuse to do anything to make it right. In fact, there seems to be a pattern of promising things, failing to deliver, and then keeping the $249 cancellation fee, almost like they designed it that way... I should have been more thorough in review the T&Cs as it would have been readily apparent they were meant to absolve Montway of any responsibility or obligation. tl;dr: caveat emptor. Montway seems to skirt dangerously around the line of being a scam. read more

They lost a car and the Sheriff's office had to track it down after 11 days of them not answering their phones. Also when it was found their insurance didn't exist and I had to make a claim on my insurance. Imy wife and I hired Montway to ship 2 vehicles from Maine to Texas and were told our vehicles would be delivered in 5 days. its been day 13 and still no word on when they will be delivered just excuses. We spoke to the driver directly who gave us his word that he would meet us at 8pm with our vehicles and be never called or showed up! At this point we have gotten the run around from their dispatch center and they can't even tell us where are vehicles are! We are renting a vehicle and keep extending the rental agreement. Do not use this company! They lack communication skills with their customers. I used the live chat and phone customer service options multiple times and received difference responses from each employee about my unique circumstance. Because I was not present at my pickup location I arranged for a friend to sign off to release my vehicle. I had arranged for my vehicle to be picked up by the driver and taken to the appropriate loading zone as the truck would not fit on the residential street. I signed the waiver and agreed to an increase of my original quote due to this added on service. I followed all the appropriate instructions provided by Montway employees via phone and live chat just to get a call 45 minutes prior to pickup, from the driver, stating they had never been told this information and that I needed to figure out how to get my vehicle to the pick up zone or my car would be left and further fees would be applied. Me being out of state, I had to pay extra with an outside service to arrange for my car to be brought to the loading zone. I called Montway and was transferred to the supervisor where no help was provided. She stated that she would call the driver to "figure this issue out". I have not received a phone call and have now payed an outrageous amount to have my car shipped. Be aware that the original quote can increase, that they can not guarantee door to door, and it could take up to a week for car pickup. read more

This is the fourth time I have shipped a car and the worst experience in doing so. I should've known better when I had to pay the full amount upfront, as every other shipment I paid a deposit upfront and the balance at delivery. My biggest complaint was the lack of communication received from Montway. I had to initiate every request for an ETA. Shipping a car from Hawaii takes some time, and I absolutely understand that. I received a phone call from a third-party transport company, but was unaware as to who they were using until I received the call. As a broker they should've done all the communication with the third-party transportation companies, it sounded a bit scammy when I received a call to book from another company. Again, I had to call and confirm with Montway that I was to book with the 3rd party and they didn't already do so. I also had to give my dates of departure to the third-party vendor as they were unaware of when I was shipping my vehicle. I was told that my car was going to be delivered for several days now and then received a text yesterday saying my car was going to be delivered. I took an Uber to work, but I had a gut feeling I was gonna end up taking an Uber home. When I called at 4 PM to see when my car was going to be delivered they said it was 18 minutes out and that they had already confirmed delivery with a gentleman named Mike. I don't know anybody named Mike that lives in my new town. The third-party driver was literally going to drop my car off with somebody else! When I finally got the phone number for the driver he was already onto his next destination which was 50 miles away from me. At 6 PM he told me he'd see me in an hour. I finally got my car at 1 AM, but had to walk down to go pick it up because the driver wouldn't come down my street because it was an open cab and there are trees lining the street. This is just a part of the story, but because the third-party driver didn't put my car in when he picked it up I received an email this morning saying my car has been picked up and delivered all on the same day. The lack of communication can also be construed as a lack of professionalism. My only advice to everyone reading this is find a service that doesn't require payment upfront. I believe you would get better customer service if they knew payment wise to come after Everything is delivered. Now I'm going to go inspect my vehicle because it 1 AM I couldn't see anything. TDLR; This is an Auto Transport company that uses third party agencies to dispatch drivers. So you really don't know what you're going to get. Booked two months prior. This service was unreliable and unprofessional.. they were inconsistent with pick up/drop off times. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE! This service was completely unprofessional. Be more consistent with the times for pick up and drop off. This is not a pizza delivery service, this should be an auto transport service. If you plan to pick up the car Saturday morning (which he switched from Monday to the Saturday before with only 24 hours notice), don't wait for the customer to call you at 1 pm to ask where you are. Then when calling Nick (the driver) he told me he would be there from 3-6 pm. At 7pm I find out he's not coming until Sunday morning. On Sunday morning he picks up the car and tells me the car should reach my destination by Thursday, maybe Friday the latest. I tell him that works perfectly since I land in the intended state (NJ) by Wednesday night. Wednesday morning I get a phone call that he should be at my intended drop off location between 9-12 pm, 24-48 hours earlier than what was intended. This has cause so much stress, tension and frustration during what was supposed to be an otherwise happy time, as there is only so much I can do when I am across the country (TX). We requested an enclosed container for our 2021 Hyundai Palisade, they didn't have one so they offered us the "next best thing" which was top load. The guy came to pick it up and assured us that nothing was going to happen because he was going to put it closest the rig. When he dropped it off, there were scratches on the new paint plus rock chips on our newly painted emblem. We told the transporter, he tried to rub them out which there was dirt in the rag and therefore scratched it more. He said he didn't know how they got there. We called the carrier and informed them immediately and they said we called 3 days late? Resulting in that there was nothing they could do. This is completely ridiculous and unprofessional. Just so I protect others from the same disappointment, I feel it is super necessary to tell you exactly how this whole transaction was handled. I contacted Brian (Bryan not specially sure of spelling) and lined up Montway to pick up my daughters car to return back to law school in another state. 1200 miles in distance so not outrageous. I lined this up on August 11th today is August 21st. Should have been alarmed the next day when we rec'd a call asking to pick up the car within the next 1 hr. 20 mins. I told them we were told we would have some notice and unfortunately and 1 hr. and 20 mins would not do. The car was not currently home etc etc. No problem lined it up for a 2nd time which we said great. The morning of I open my email to see a cancellation notice by they said us.. Contacted them and said NO we did not cancel. They said our carrier did.. we will work on reschedule. Contacted by them for a new driver and will be picked up on Friday 18th..Time frame is 3-5 days for pickup.. Okay 7 days after initial agreement.. Friday speak to driver says leaving Dallas.. Said will be there in afternoon. Wait and wait and wait. No driver. Call him from a phone number he wouldn't recognize and he tells my husband Saturday.. Finally.. says has a Flat tire be there on Sat. AM. No driver on Saturday AM and no calls. I contact him and finally says 4 ETA (2ish Saturday afternoon). Shows up with NO ROOM on trailer..stunned. Now you have wasted three days of my time.. I am suppose to be okay with this.. I say why would you come with no room. says he will go and have cars (2) removed from trailer and return in an hr. Comes back after 4:30 and with the SAME CARS he left with.. OMG. I say well if you still have the cars and they are now closed what does this mean.. Will have to leave on Monday for designation. I say wow.. He says I can take the car now..really where you putting it? On your back? I say you pick up the car on Monday and we will call it a day.. Monday suppose to be back at 9:30 get a call about 8:35 driver cannot pick up the car..damage to his trailer.. Third cancellation by no other than MONTWAY.. Do not forget this name when scheduling a driver.. They are full of stories.. no communication AT ALL.. Ready to cry.. daughter in law school states away with no car.. BTW the best part is they charged my credit card 995.00 on the 16th when they didn't even have the driver.. The driver kept in contact with where the truck was. I was very disappointed in the business practice of Montway Auto Transport. Usually these companies get your information and then contact a carrier/driving company that is willing and able to ship your car for you. After a few bids have come in, the auto transport company will confirm the drop off and pick up information and dates and then charge your card. Unfortunately, this is not the business practice of Montway Auto Transport. Montway Auto Transport decided to simply charge your card before getting your written, electronic, or verbal authorization to charge your card. This means that if you called a few different companies and Montway Auto Transport happens to be one of the companies that you decide to call but do not proceed forward with using their service, they still charge your card. And then they had to audacity to claim a $199 cancellation fee which I had to to fight to get that waived after pointing out the very obvious fact that Montway Auto Transport did not wait for my written, electronic, or verbal authorization to charge my card.... Very Disappointed and I would highly discourage anyone from using these services from a company with such shady and moral-less business practices. read more

I hired this company to ship my vehicle on Monday. Tuesday they emailed me told me the driver will pick up on Wednesday. I contacted the dealer and they moved the vehicle outside and prepared it for shipping. Wednesday afternoon I get an email telling me the driver has canceled the delivery with no explanation. I then have to call the dealer and they have to move the vehicle back to the warehouse. So I don't hear from them them till Friday telling me they have a driver and he is picking up on Friday and will have delivered by Saturday next day which is impossible. I call the dealer and they once again move the vehicle outside and prepare for shipping. Saturday morning dealer calls and says the driver was a no show and haven't heard from anyone. I then called and canceled. They claim the driver was going to pick up that afternoon. I don't believe them after lying to me twice. Because I paid upfront ( silly me thinking this was a good thing). Information was given with patience and immediately sent a email conformation on the order. Easy to reach and answered all my questions and did follow up calls with reminders. The staff is very professional, informed me 5 hours before the pick up of the vechile. I would recommend this for any oe looking to ship their car fir cheaper price with super fast delivery.
