I Will never use Monty's again! They over charged me for a rear differential seal replacement. After three trips to their shop, they over tightened the nut the last time and caused it break down. We were out of town and had to have the car fixed in that town. Monty's charged me over $900 total and repairs on the road were $2,200 because of Monty's inability to do a simple repair. Rather than do the right thing and pay my repair bill they refunded me $400. The shop manager Marco and has no idea how to fix anything and is not a mechanic and the mechanics come and go so no one knows who or what. In my opinion they are INEPT, DISHONEST AND HAVE NO INTEGRITY. DO NOT USE! Monty is like the Wizard of Oz! I never was able to talk directly to him even though I asked. I needed a new automotive repair guy to service my hybrid vehicle. My old auto mechanic Bill at Hunter Automotive retired and was no longer in business. My automobile needed a new start up battery. I have a hybrid car and it is a giant pain to get installed. The battery is inside the trunk and you have to remove a bunch of covers and pieces to get access to it. I drive by Monty's on Ruff Snow almost daily because I live right down the street from there. I stopped by and talked with Mark behind the counter. Mark was very experienced in auto parts coming from a history of working in a auto parts place for quite a while. He knew that since it was a hybrid that I needed to be very cautious about what battery that I needed to install. He had a new battery put in at a very reasonable price and I was on my way in a very short time. I wanted somebody I could trust and feel that I was not taken advantage of and Mark at Monty's made me feel right at home. I am so glad i stopped to check them out. Super shady! Brought my 68 cobra to them for several leaks they had the car for a few months. Couple weeks in they call me saying they thought I had a blown engine. I explained I never had issues and drove the car there, told the guys I don't wanna get the oil leak fixed till we know if engine blown. The car only had 3500 miles! He said he drove it and engine was fine and there ok fixing seals. I spend over 2k fixing the seals and when I picked up the car I drove it about 500 feet and automatically knew something was wrong with engine. Brought straight to my garage and called them. Of course they said they didn't drive it and are at no fault. Also the leaks they fixed are leaking all over my garage. Now I need a rebuild from them not taking care of my car. I called numerous times to talk to the owner and he never calls me back. If you read any review, please do not use this shop, they are shady and don't do good business practices! read more

On the basis of recommendations from some business people in the area and good reviews here online I asked for an oil change and a transmission flush filter and change. I was assured the correct fluid would be used in my transmission and a requested oil would be used in my engine. I got the work completed call about three hours later. Phenomenally fast. The receipt listed a GM tranny fluid and didn't list what kind of oil was used. The woman behind the counter very unconvincingly said uh yes when I asked if the requested oil was used. I asked to speak to the mechanic and was told he only speaks Spanish and then that he was too busy. I left and went to a mechanic who specializes in my kind of car. Heshowed me the transmission had never been touched. Further my car was low on oil the next time I filled up. My brakes completely went out on me because I had neglected to change them. It was late, so I towed my car there and left it overnight for them for the next day. It was around 11am and I went up there to talk to them and get my car taken care of. They already had it up on the lift and were working on it! I left and waited another hour or so. After running a computer check, he determined it was likely a computer glitch and he was able to reset it. Tested it a couple times and that appeared to have fixed the issue! What a genuinely good guy! My son and I were looking to purchase a truck at a dealer nearby. We wanted to get an opinion from a mechanic before making a big purchase. He told us originally it would be $40 for him to check it out and we were happy to pay that given the investment that this truck would be. When we got there he helped us immediately and within five minutes he diagnosed that there was a leak in the rear main plug seal. He opened up the engine and also noticed that there was a leak in the middle of the engine and suggested that this truck would not be worth investing in. He shared his knowledge about the different Ford truck models and some things to look for in our search. I don't typically write reviews, but for this shop I just have to. We just moved to Texas, so starting over with everything is difficult. I did a random search for places in my area close by, considering I was afraid to drive my car far, for fear of what could be wrong. I took a chance on Monty's shop, and so glad I did! I called as soon as the shop opened and asked if he would have a chance to look at my car that morning, to which he replied to being it on in. When I arrived, I explained the issues I was having and within minutes he was testing my battery and diagnosing the problem. After figuring out it was indeed the battery, he told me to go grab a good battery at Costco and he would put it in for free! When I returned with the battery, he told me he had filled all my tires to the appropriate levels, and quickly installed the new battery. He was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. He made what I thought would be an all day issue in to a quick solution. I appreciated the help! We will be bringing all our vehicles to him in the future! We are so glad we found this shop!!
