Went to have some codes cleared to get the check engine light off. 2000 dollars later, oil is spewing out of our engine. They are denying it and refusing to fix or give us our money back! I took the car in to get my check engine light off. They never did it even though they said the codes were clear. The check engine light is still on. Even worse they screwed up my car. The mechanics stripped a bolt on my manifold which caused oil to spew all over my engine. They wanted to charge me an additional 1600 dollars to fix the mistake they made. The oil leak also ruined my altinator which is now costing me another 350 bucks. Worst mechanic experience I've ever had. I took the car in for a check engine light and they made my car undrivable. The owner will ignore you if you have an issue and Im pretty sure they delete negative comment anywhere they can. Im using Yelp because they can't remove these reviews (notice their rating is lower here than anywhere else). We definitely have grounds to sue them now. read more

So glad I found Lonestar! After being so poorly treated by other repair shops it was a pleasure to find a shop that puts the customer first. A very thorough inspection was done on my Ram and all recommendations was backed with a photo. Although I dropped by truck off, while I was waiting for my ride I was shown the waiting area were they had a minifridge with cokes and snacks free for customers. It was a nice touch. Repair for underneath lower and upper control arms with stabilizer bar link and tie rods. This repair was needed from two previous mechanic inspections from two other repair shops. I never thought that I was going to have my car this long, so I never got it repaired in the past. I decided to take it to Lonestar Automotive for repair. Lonestar is managed by Jesse and his assistant manager Ryan. Ryan has been there about a couple years and Jesse about a year. They are a great team that provides quality work at a fair price. Plus, I had to take my car in for brakes (rotor issues) two weeks later. I had the car in a year ago for the brakes with a 3 year warranty. I took the car in on 8-28-2024; Ryan said the brakes would covered under the warranty. They did a great job; and in a very timely manner. I would not hesitate to bring my car hear for repairs and would recommend them in a heart beat. read more

ZERO RATING... They made me give a one. Plus, on the Lonestar Website they will not show the negative reviews. LOL.... That is the ONLY reason I used them was because of their FALSE REVIEWS! OMG! I had the worst experience with the company! Lonestar Elite Auto had such great ratings. So, I decided to give them a try. They charged me $149 for a diagnostic testing which supposedly would tell them the problem. They PROMISED to have it completed in one day, because I had a business appointment the next day and needed my truck. 1st off they NEVER called me one time on my cellphone. Each time I called, the answers would change. Long story short, my bill went from $1000 to $3000. I said ok, will it be fixed if I pay the $3000. Ryan said yes and handed his warranty card. Less than 1 hour later the service engine light came back on and I immediately took it back to them. 3 hours later, they say "Oh, now your Catalytic Converter is bad and its going to be another $1400 to get it working". I specifically stated before they began working on the truck, that if it was that I would trade it in and buy a new truck. They promised me, it would be taken card of and they knew what they were doing. I immediately took it to another Keller Auto Shop, who I showed the estimates and what was done. They advised me that Lonestar Auto screwed me and over charged on all work done. I understand they are a business and they get paid for what they do. When I picked up my truck, because I DO NOT TRUST THEM TO WORK ON ANY VEHICHLE. They tried to tell me they were Christian and family men. I asked for them to print out the cost of the parts and labor and they said they would. They NEVER did! I am willing to pay for what they worked on that fixed my problems. But paying for poor labor and misdiagnosis of my vehicle I am not going to pay for. My bill was originally around $1000 then jumped to $3171. then when I spoke with Ryan, he stated it was going to be another $4000 to do the other work. He Said that his Boss told him not to tell me all at once, because it scared customers and they would not return. Well to get to the point, if you are reading the reviews for this company do NOT BELIEVE them. They write them or their friends write them. This is the worst Company I have ever dealt with. I have already got my lawyer working on it. I was willing to pay for everything except the O2 Sensors because that was not the issue. This used to be my favorite car shop, now I'm not so sure. I recently took them to get my brakes fixed and brought my own parts. The brand I got said they may squeek for break in wear but it should stop eventually. While I had them check my breaks I also asked if they could check my wheel bearings. They claimed they were fine. Three months later I need an oil change, breaks are still squeeking and now they claim my wheel bearings need replacement for 595$. I was away on a trip and left my car with them Thursday night in hopes of getting back Saturday because I work far and it's hard to find time during the week to take your car in. 1pm Friday they say they can get the parts in for the wheel bearings and can have it ready by 5:30. So I'm like okay great lets do it. Get a call around 5pm ..."we broke the spindle on your car and cant get the part in til Monday or Tuesday so you can't have your car back" I start to freak out and the guys like oh we have a orange truck you can use in the mean time. Im like great this sounds awesome (not). They honestly shouldve offered a rental instead of the owners truck which I'm not even insured on! No way I wantes to drive that thing on 2 hour commute to Plano. It was very old and I'm not insured on it. So we get the truck saturday which its gold btw not orange. And its not that safe to drive. Luckily my boss let me work from home Monday. Monday morning I call them (they dont call me) and say oh yeah we cant get the part until tomorrow morning sorry. Like wtf??? On top of that when I start to get MAD that im stuck with their piece of crap uninsured car he tries to guilt trip me on how they had to work overtime (to fix their mistake) on saturday looking for a cheap replacement part in the junk yard So you broke my part and were going to replace it with something worse? Thanks! You should not make the customer feel bad about something they are mad about thats not anything that they had done. Just FYI. AND he had the nerve to say he told me the truck was gold not orange even though he said orange 5 times. Ugh. Finally tuesday morning (again I call not them) he says oh yean part just came should be ready around noon. Like wtf thanks for keeping me updated. Finally get a call around 1030 saying its ready but now I wasnt able to pick it up til noon. I get there no apology from the owner and I get printed a half assed receipt that you cant even read. Plus when they quote me on my AC compressor and I say no thanks ill get it somewhere else the guy is very rude and says " okay buh bye" Seriously so rude and ya'll should look into providing rentals when you mess up someones car with your inconvient hours and part ordering system if you want to keep customers and get better customer service that isnt just plain rude to someone who didnt do anything! I'm gonna post my experience, and you take it how you will. I had my car towed to their shop after it had died in the middle of western center and left me stranded. The issue was that I had just had a new aux batter as well as main battery replaced, and then while driving 5 minutes later the car flashed several error messages and went into crawl mode and died. So in short, the car ended up being with them from Friday to Monday ( they were closed on weekends, fine) on Monday I was told they couldn't figure it out, and I ended up paying $200 for a diag fee to make sure the tech got paid for looking at it, fine. Also Friday afternoon they had called me and had me go take the aux battery back to autozone and exchange it for another one, which was also fine. .then Tuesday I had it sent to a Honda dealership down the road, norm reeves Honda, and received a text saying that it had been checked in and was being pulled into a bay. 30 minutes later I got a call saying it's ready for pick up. "Wtf, how? What was wrong with it"? Dealership- "it was a loose wire on the battery" and I picked it up and it's been running fine. Now, I'm just wondering how in the world this wasn't checked at Lonestar the whole time it was sitting there?? I was assure that the tech assigned to my car was one of the best and had several years of experience. Am I wrong for thinking that one of the first things that should have been checked is that everything was secure on both batteries? Am I just dumb for expecting that? My personal thought is that it wasn't checked as Thoroughly as I was told, and there wasn't much time spent on it. I kinda feel like they made up their minds pretty early that they weren't going to mess with it a whole lot. I don't intend to reach out, I don't really care to hear any type of explanation or anything, and once again, all I'm doing is sharing my experience. Take it how you will. Personally I won't be back. I paid 225 to have it towed there, spent 400 on a rental car for the duration it was there, then payed the 200 diag fee, and of course had to pay to have it towed away from there. Simple work done costly. They have a nice tidy workshop and a front office. What didn't worked out for me was very very expensive labour cost and part cost was three times the normal cost. They have goos rating and that's the reason O visoted them paid them for my check up and estimation. However, when i had the quote in my hand i was not happy with the cost of the parts. On asking the front desk receptionist why is there price so much of the parts, she had no answer and three some bluffs. I asked who are their vendors, she mentioned Advance Auto Parts, O'Reilly's. When i did price check she just tried to escape asking me to and didn't showed up. Anyways, I did my research before visiting them, knrw where the issue was but their prices for labour and parts are very very high. read more

Something else broke while I drove it away, I guess. Problem was a heat door actuator was broke. Wonder if this was the problem in the first place. About $70 item. I chose them because they had such good reviews and they were only a mile down the road. I had a 1:30 Friday appointment, but had to drop my car off the night before using their night drop-off since I couldn't bring the car during the day. They called my by 10:30 Friday morning letting me know they already performed an idle-relearn to get my high-idle issue (caused from cleaning throttle body) fixed and was ready for pickup. They only charged me the $49 diagnostic fee so I was very happy. read more

After years of taking my 2013 Shelby GT500 to ford dealership service for service issues/warranty work and pretty much being ignored because I'm a woman, I was so happy to have found Lonestar elite automotive ! They actually listened to my concerns and was able to give my car an official diagnosis and repair my car the first time I took it to them. Sadly having a mechanic that knows how to do their job is something that everyone should be able to expect but in my experience that's not always the case. They not only did an excellent job they also did not attempt to sell me something I did not need or overcharge me! We've been bringing our cars here for over a year now. These guys are very reliable, honest and do great work. As a woman, I really appreciate Chris' willingness to explain what's going on with our cars. No one here has ever treated me like a motor challenged idiot, which so many auto repair businesses do with women. We also appreciate their willingness to work at getting cost effective parts that aren't crap. Our daughter recently brought in her VW to repair the A.C. Best price she'd been quoted. They set out all the repair options and prices but never pressured her to choose one. Kind of like a really good Doctor does when you have a health issue. There's another review by a female on here that is very disparaging. I'd like to say to her that very few auto repair shops are able to stock parts on premises. If they did, the cost to you as the consumer would skyrocket because they'd have to have a large warehouse and rent is expensive. Many places that break something on your vehicle don't mention it, until they 'discover' it or you bring it back to be repaired at your cost. Most would never spend their Saturday off getting a replacement part for your car, even if they did break it, or be so nice as to lend you their truck. BTW, if your auto insurance doesn't cover a loaner car, you need better insurance. And to top it all off by complaining about the color of the free loaner truck? Really? Really? SMH read more

After my mechanic of 20 years retired, I was thrust back in to worrying where to take our vehicles and not get screwed over. Following several referrals from our community Facebook page, and my own online research, I decided to give Lonestar Elite a chance. I needed a brake job on my 1999 daily driver so I dropped it off. They looked the car over, confirmed my determination that it needed new pads and rotors, as well as recommended other legitimate items that needed attention, like older cars do. They didn't pressure or try to up-sell me but wanted to make me aware, which I appreciate. They did the brake job in a timely manner, for a reasonable cost, explained everything well, and did it all with great customer service. As with my former mechanic, trust and consistency is built over time. Recommend by a friend and family members. Brought my car in to Lonestar for the first time on a busy Friday afternoon to address some ongoing issues with the brakes. The brakes had been worked on a few times before at another shop without any long-term resolution. The team at Lonestar listened to my concerns, were very informative, and I did not feel taken advantage of (rare). They test-drove the car and told me the issues were coming from the front brakes only and we agreed to go ahead and replace those pads and rotors. I received a very reasonable estimate and scheduled a drop-off for the following Wednesday. Brought the car in at 8am and it was ready for pickup by 12. They even went out of their way to work with AutoZone, where I had my brake pads warrantied, and swap them out. THAT is customer service. I gave Billy, Chris, and the rest of the crew 5 stars because I feel they deserve it. We took our 2009 c300 to them for the service B but not before doing our research. They had good reviews and Chris, who was the first person we had contact with did his research into the labor and possible cost to service the vehicle. He called us back with an estimate, a reasonable one, and what we could expect for service time. We dropped off our car and they looked it over and called us back with a revised estimate that would have been in our favor if not for the drive belt that was frayed and had to be replaced but even the cost of that was very reasonable as well. It is our opinion that these guys are decent, honest, hard working guys who want to do the right thing and as such become your neighborhood mechanic that you would trust to work on your children's car. read more

I took my 2011 f150 in it was having transmission problems . They looked at the issue and informed me that it all was probably under a recall if I took it to a Ford place . I work up in OKC and the wife had to handle it they printed out a paper with all the error codes and warranty info for her to give to the ford place. Ok , I am a car guy. I believe every repair has a cost. But when you are out of town , you are at anothers risk. I had a referral to call Billy at Lonestar Elite. They said they had "Good Luck" with him. I went there and explained my need. I had already purchased the part , because of availability. I asked him for his help/ He told me with a smile what the cost would be, and finished the job in less than an hour. I was very impressed with this Local Family owned business. My 2010 Honda Civic started making a loud noise, so I took it to Lonstar based on reviews. Billy looked at it and quickly determined it was a failing water pump. I was given a fair quote for parts and labor so, I agreed to the repair. Only problem was that It was a Friday morning and There were a lot of cars scheduled ahead of me. Billy said he would do his best to fit me in since I needed car for work on Monday. Billy called me about 3:00 Friday afternoon and said he was able to do the repair that day. I will definitely use Lonestar in the future and would recommend this garage to anyone.
