Went it for a annual check up and cleaning. They immediately tried upselling 1500 for a deep cleaning and declined to due my regular cleaning. I strongly recommend that anyone who has visited this dental office carefully go back and review the charges billed by the dentist against the explanation of benefits from your insurance company. I discovered, completely by chance, a duplicate payment of over $600, where both my insurer and I paid for the same service. It took an unreasonable amount of time for the office to acknowledge the overpayment, and I ultimately had to initiate a three-way call with the insurance company to get it resolved. Even then, my refund was only $585 because I had supposedly "hit the maximum." Had I known about this earlier, I would have scheduled my son's cleaning for January instead (new policy year). I also echo the concerns others have raised about aggressive upselling. I wish I had more time to explain how I uncovered this, but in short, check your statements carefully and think twice before trusting this practice. read more

Having periodontal disease they did a same day deep cleaning on my gums - they were very patient with me and provided top quality care. No one enjoys a dentist visit so this is putting it highly when I say I know going back again, I will be in good hands! read more

Sadly this started out as a great experience. I brought my son here for a 2nd opinion on his cavities. The dentist was great. She was very nice to him, as they don't normally see children. I cannot say the same for myself. I had a terrible experience with a deep cleaning. Without going into detail, it was excruciating and I almost had a panic attack. I was told I could have nitrous and then they found out they were out of it, so I suffered through the appt in tears. I then paid several hundred dollars for a bacteria test. I have yet to receive the results and when I called, I was told I needed to call back when a certain staff was available. I have yet to receive another update. 2 months later, when the trauma from the first deep cleaning subsided, I went back for my second cleaning. This was after I had to book an appt. with only a specific staff, who had limited availability and could provide the nitrous. When I arrived, in a snowstorm, I was told that they did not have the nitrous. When I asked why I was not notified prior to driving there, I was told it was because I had cancelled prior. I am not sure what kind of customer service they are looking to provide, but the lady behind the front desk was horrible. Her facial expression was negative, her tone was rude, and her overall demeanor was disrespectful. I called the office within 5 minutes of leaving to have my records sent and ironically was put on hold for 5 minutes and never updated. I had to call back again. Overall, I experienced great dentists but the front desk staff were awful and the communication was even worse. I do not recommend. read more

Not sure the policy on late appointments for this office, but I was recently less than 10 minutes late to a cleaning appointment that had been booked and had to then reschedule. Apparently the hygenist who had been scheduled for my appointment had taken a different patient back during my appointment time in less than 10 minutes from the start of my appointment. I understand being late, even 5-7 minutes late, is my fault. However, it seems interesting that within less than 10 minutes of when my appointment slot was set to begin, that a different patient was taken. I was then offered an appointment time over a month out which didnt work for me. When I mentioned this, only then was I offered an appointment a week away. A bit disappointed with how this situation was handled. Again, I understand that being late to an appointment is on me. But, I feel a bit of grace should be given (at least a full 10 minutes) before a different patient is taken during an already scheduled appointment time. read more

I saw Dr. Clare specifically for a cleaning, and she was very nice and kind. All the staff there that I interacted with were very gentle and welcoming. I went to the practice based on reviews. I needed to have a crown replaced. I had two side by side and was told I needed them both replaced. I ended up in their office for over 5 hours. The dentist clearly had no idea how to use the office equipment. She went through three versions of crowns. Each time I had to sit through an additional set of X-rays and wait for the crowns to be made. My jaw ached, my gums were bleeding and my bite was off. I also had to be numbed multiple times. I had another dentist down the street look at them and he gave me mouthwash to help with my gums that were severely inflamed. He said he wouldn't have felt comfortable allowing me to leave his office with the crowns I had in place. I contacted the office via their website and explained that I was very upset and received no response. I didn't hear from the office again until I received a collection notice for the copay. Frankly, I was shocked they were 1) charging me for such terrible work 2) no one tried to call me to make it right 3) no one tried to call me to ask if my billing address had changed (we moved) before sending a collections notice. I called and explained that I didn't think the charges were appropriate based on the terrible work. The office manager argued with me. I asked to speak to the owner, she argued that I needed to pay the copay. I asked her to look at the multiple sets of X-rays. She admitted that the crowns were "clinically acceptable" but wouldn't have felt comfortable with them if she had placed them. She said I would have to pay half the deductible and she offered to redo them herself. After the 5 hour ordeal and needed to argue with her office staff multiple times that this wasn't a normal or pleasant experience, I certainly do not want anyone there touching me again. Fast forward a year to now and I finally decided to get back in a dentist chair, at another practice. The two crowns are not seated properly and my gums are still inflamed in just that area and my bite is off but I've leaned to deal with it. My current dentist who has been practicing for over 30 years said he was shocked that the owner didn't refund the money or offer to pay for another dentist to redo the crowns. I am a well. Save yourself the trouble, do not see these people. Clearly the owners interests are not in providing greater care. There are plenty of other practice around that actually care about patients, go to them instead. read more

She identified a mistake made by a previous dentist and fixed it free of charge all while acknowledging it should never have happened in the first place. Worst Dentist in my 63 years. You are only viewed as a revenue source. This place is a huge up sell office. If you love getting fleeced by an office then this place is for you. These guys are GREAT! I had a root canal fail (it was 25 years old), so doc Murray pulled it, and prepped me for an implant. It takes quite a bit of time and a few visits for the bone to heal enough to seat the implant and crown, which is disappointing, but he and Dr Arcinau have been fantastic! I'm a bit of a needle-phobe, but they are very respectful and gentle. Some real pros here! read more

Both my wife and myself love Monument Dentists. Everyone from their front staff to their dentists are extremely helpful and welcoming. I've also had trust issues in the past with dentists claiming I've had cavities in the past, and then a different dentist will say I don't. Hands down the best dental experience of my life. Being a military family we moved a lot and I often left my dental care be one of the last things in my list. I ended up needing crowns and laser treatment. I opted for same day crowns and Dr. Murray and his staff were fantastic. I have had to have them adjusted a little since the initial procedure and he didn't hesitate to see me and adjust the crowns. My youngest had his wisdom teeth out by the oral surgeon Dr.Scott last week. Dr.Scott called our house that night on his personal cell and told me to call if we have any issues. I have extreme anxiety when it comes to going to the dentist, bad experiences as a kid and extensive treatment in my adult life has caused this. After moving here Bc of the military I was super nervous about having to find a new dentist. Then I found Monument Dentists!!! Everyone is that office is amazing. Starting in the front with Catherine and Kassandra, both of them are so welcoming and attentive. Megan and Ishanique in the back were both wonderful keeping me at ease. Dr Murray is hands down the dentist I was looking for!!! His bedside manner, caring demeanor, and style in his exams make for a relaxing experience even for this patient!!! I typically sweat and calm up, and get sick to my stomach when I have appointments. He thoroughly explained my options and wasn't quick to plan me for extreme fixes, instead he would pause to think what would be best for me and my tooth health! For me this indicated that he isn't all about money, he truly cares about me as his patient and how the work will impact my tooth health. I am so glad I found them!!! I HIGHLY recommend them!! New to the area, I decided to give Monument Dentists a try while I was in the throes of a raging toothache. I met several of their clinicians while they did their best to try to save my tooth with a root canal (thank you Dr Nielsen for making this feared procedure seem like no big deal), then needed an extraction (their oral surgeon was great, again, no big deal with very little discomfort the next day). Today I had a routine cleaning and exam by Dr Tompkins, who also spent more time with me on my treatment plan. Why I will never go to this dentist again - 1. Expect random bills to be sent weeks and months after payment - reason is insurance issues (not supported by follow up invoices) 2. When I asked for a billing breakdown to support a major bill, all I received was a phone call. no back up for a $100 plus additional billing. 3. without invoice detail and a delay the bill was sent to a collection agency. 4. the collection agency is called AmerAssist. Broken web sight and no response. I sent the check just to get this behind me. 5. WORST PART - After receiving a mouth full of shots the dentist, who is covering multiple chairs, said let this marinate a while. Dentist was off covering multiple chairs for over 45 minutes. Shots wore off and more shots required. Dentist off to cover more chairs for 20 minutes... Finally done and I payed my bill... then multiple bills started... It has taken me 30 years to find a dentist I like and I'm so grateful to have found Monument Dentists. During my initial appointment I was shocked to have the dentist himself do the cleaning just to get to know me and my mouth. Dr Murray was very honest and didn't try to sell me a ton of services I didn't need. He pointed out only the relevant concerns and then offered me options. Their office has some amazing technology and took care of finding out what the insurance would cover and I didn't have to pay a penny over that initial quote. The ceramic onlays took less time than quoted and Dr Murray and his staff made it the best dental procedure I've ever had by ensuring I was comfortable and that they did quality work on the first go. Besides the great and friendly staff they have a clean and comfortable office and flexible scheduling with early and late hours on select days to accommodate different schedules. This is the first negative review I have ever written on a company. I started going here with the previous dentist, Dr. Murray, and he was fantastic. so we paid for the annual dental plan to give me a very inexpensive cleaning. Unfortunately he sold the business and, though they say they are honoring the plan, practically speaking they are not. I took the first appointment of the day because I heard stories of long wait times and I didn't want to sit in the lobby for 20 minutes. But i still had to wait for almost 20 minutes because they were late for work. Though any later time of the day was probably also late. They act like they are very rigid in how they want you to handle your hygiene, but I suspect it's just a ruse to up-sell you on more expensive products and therapies. You don't want our fluoride treatment? Don't be ridiculous. Every single person needs our $25 fluoride treatment! You don't want X-rays? We won't clean your teeth unless you get new x-rays, but of course you need to pay extra for the x-rays... Then they quoted me a price on whitener, and then raised the price on me when I was paying. Also, I took a COVID survey the day before my appointment. They lost it and I had to do it again. The survey isn't that big of a deal, but it shows a pattern. read more

They asked me to come back in TWO separate times to pay for a procedure I went in for because their computers apparently did not save my card information. No way to do it online either. I've had to return to Monument Dentists for follow-up. Because Dr. Tompkins has changed her practice location and is no longer at the Baptist Rd location, I have seen Dr. Murray. Very impressed with his skill, knowledge and manner. The kind of person you'd want for a neighbor if he weren't your dentist. Or even if he was your dentist. It's good to have a great dentist and great neighbors. Office staff is kind and understanding, able to answer questions re insurance. Dental assistants are amiable as well. I fear pain and going to the dentist. But once I found Dr Murray in Monument, I knew I had found my dentist office. The staff is amazing, kind and patient. They totally understand one's fears and always take the time to make the patient feel comfortable and at ease. Dr Murray himself is very kind and patient and answers all of your questions. I have tried other locations and I can honestly say, I would travel wherever needed to see Dr Murray and his staff. I live in Colorado Springs and travel to Monument to see Dr Murray. I have had a cleaning and a root canal and crown and have been very impressed with everyone. Dr Nielsen is the one who performs the root canals and he is awesome! His tech too is outstanding. I almost backed out of doing the root canal but I was able to sit down and speak to Dr Nielsen and his tech and they both explained everything very thoroughly which made me feel at ease and comfortable to proceed. What I had feared most, PAIN, was no longer a concern with this group. I felt nothing during the root canal or placement of the crown by Dr Murray. Just know that if you choose to see Dr Murray or his staff, you are in the best hands ever!! read more
