The only positive thing that came from these people was the actual stone. It was beautiful, too bad they deprived my children and I of being present for the religious ceremony that was to take place when the stone was installed. They kept our stone from Mid April until yesterday, May 17 and lied three times about why they could not install it. They made the Priest who managed the cemetery out to be a liar which is terrible on its own, they caused much grief and stress to our family and in the end, they purposefully installed the stone while my Brother-in-Law was out of the country; and failed to advise me, on purpose, of the installation date/time even though it was requested from beginning to end (for the religious reasons) simply because I called them out on the lies they told us on three different attempts to install it. The managers (Liz and Olga) then pretended I was a "trouble" customer because I proved that they lied three times, and then deprived myself and my sons (who lost their father suddenly) from being present for the religious ceremony, even though it was my children's money that paid for their Father's stone. What a horrifying experience. We are looking into a potential lawsuit as of today. We cannot get that religious ceremony day back simply because these people wanted to be vengeful and spiteful during such a traumatic time in our lives! Horrible customer service especially after paying $15,000 for their stone. The stone's workmanship, however, was beautiful. The response they have made indicates I am not the customer however; I came to their shop with my Brother-in-Law and took part in picking the stone and the design, and my Brother-in-Law left specific instructions with Liz to deal with me while he was out of the country because everything needed to be in order prior to May 26. Yes, they they delivered before the contract date, but this is irrelevant. They had the stone, and toyed with our emotions for weeks as they made three different attempts to deliver, and then lied about why they could not. The point is the place that is making the monument for your deceased loved one should NOT add to your stress and loss. The religious ceremony that was to take place when the stone was installed is now lost to me and my three sons forever, we can never get that day back, and the fact that they did this purposefully, simply because I stood up to them and tried to get them to stop lying and communicate clearly, is extremely vengeful. My sons don't deserve this, they took $15,000 of their own money to buy this stone for their father, and to be able to participate in our religious custom of dedicating the stone for their father who is lost to them for life while they are all teenagers!! How sad that their response, just like they did to me, is to make useless points about the contract date and simply fail to address the lying and the stress they caused, and finally the vengeful way they made the delivery!! read more

I absolutely love Monumental Art works. There are no words for how the end result of the Monument I had created by Monumental Art Works looks. Stunning, sad, and beautiful, but most importantly a tribute to my father who worked very hard in this Country as an immigrant from Poland to provide for me and to make sure I had everything I wanted growing up. Troost Memorial near Resurrection Cemetery was the first but they were a complete rip off and were interested in just "selling" you something quick and getting you out the door. Another place I went to was on 111th near pulaski ( I wont mention the name) and they were alright but I wanted to go to some more businesses before I made my final decision. After doing much research on my own, I learned that most of these companies order your pieces from China. I thought to myself... I do not want a piece from China that will cost me 10, 20 or 30 thousand dollars depending on what I pick that is a stamp or exact replica of what someone else already has. I didn't want something from an assembly line of products and have the company that I chose collect the majority of the funds for not doing much or paying a sculptor to do the work and collecting credit for work that isn't theirs. Another reason I did not want this was because I wanted something unique, beautiful and at a low cost. Everyone has a different definition of LOW COST. I know this... so I thought this was hopeless after visiting several other places, learning the cost and not getting any answers on who is sculpting or carving this piece or where is it coming from and why it costs so much? I was sold when I found Monumental Art Works where Viktor carves and makes your piece by hand- literally. I couldn't have had a better experience anywhere else. They took their time getting to know me and my ideas and then Viktor came up with some designs to run past me with a price for each one that could be tailored to your budget of course. I chose one that I felt was close to my heart and the end result was breath taking. It was God who led me to Monumental Art Works. My dad passed away in December 2010. My mom wanted to wait until the ground had a chance to settle before we put a headstone down, so a year later I started my search. I went to a few manufacturers; one recommended by my mom's friend and one I saw while driving down Kedzie Avenue that advertised as being "wholesale". The salespersons at the one on Kedzie were not as friendly as I would have liked and they did not try to work with you. The one my mom's friend recommended was not as professional enough. Then one day while riding my train to work downtown I looked out my window and there it was "Monumental Art Works". Long story short, I put their number in my phone and called when I got to work. My husband and I lost our daughter Isabella in Jan 2012. My brother had passed away and we had no experience on dealing with ordering of a head stone or even what we wanted in this matter. I found Monumental Art Works online and something just told me to call this place. I called Olga and she was very helpful from the beginning. Liz Chartrand at Monumental Arts Works helped me start to finish to design a monument for myself that exactly matches my sister's, who died at age 3 in 1950. Liz walked me through each step of the process, facilitated the building of the foundation by an outside company, and made sure the sexton was notified and approved of the project. I sent a photo of my sister's monument with measurements overlying the photo. This all took place long distance, by phone and e-mail, as I now live in Oregon. I traveled back to Illinois to see the finished project about two weeks after the monument was placed on the family plot. I was just thrilled at the end product. The granite was a perfect match and the shape and design was identical. The placement of the monument was exactly right. The lettering was perfect. I could not have asked for a better result. I was delighted by the service provided by Monumental Art Works. The company went beyond my expectations. I live in Ireland and ordered a marker for my late uncle who passed away when I was a child. At every step of the way the company was really clear as to what I needed to do at my end and equally they were really prompt and efficient at their end. I was thrilled when they sent me a suggested image for the marker that had a celtic cross and shamrocks - I didn't even know this was a possibility, but obviously they gathered my uncle was Irish and went above and beyond to suggest a perfect image for the marker without my even asking. Monumental Arts was our second and last stop while browsing for an infant grave marker amongst the moment shops on Archer Ave, across from Resurrection Cemetery. They presented us with various options for design and color of stone. Liz, the assistant manager, was patient enough to wait while we decided, even though it was close to their closing time. They are very prompt in service. By the next business day, I received a PDF draft to approve and Liz communicated with us the next two days to make final changes. She also notified us when the gravel was completed and delivered to the cemetery. We are very content with the final product. This final task was difficult for my husband and as he walked into their office he was indecisive about what he wanted done. Olga took him by the hand and very patiently walked him through his choices and helped him make a selection that he felt would honor his mother. She was diligent about keeping us informed on how things were coming along, even sending us a drawing of what the headstone would look like and a picture when the product was finalized. After looking long and hard to find the artist who could do a hard etching of both a specific angel I saw in a picture and also a true to life etching of my daughter and me, I tracked out the AMAZING ARTIST and sculptor Viktor. He listened to me in terms of exactly what I wanted and did indeed produce it. About 4 years later, I still stare at the stone and marvel at the beauty of his work. Olga was exceptionally pleasant to work with. I highly recommend them for any granite and sculpting work that you'd like done, including custom work. But order now as Viktor can only do so much work and you want to get his work while you still can. Life is unpredictable as we know. Order now if you can. He is WELL WORTH IT. We were pleasantly surprised to find this small family company that makes headstone right on the spot without importing them. Amazing service from start to the end and the stone was very affordable - comparing to some other companies. I was able to order the headstone/grave marker for my grandma online/via email. I live near Schaumburg, so driving down to Justice was kind of far, but I was able to make all the arrangements via email. Liz was very nice and helpful, answered all my questions, sent me pictures of the different marble colors and designs so I could match my grandfather's stone.
