When my Mom passed, my sister and I made an appointment to select a headstone. I was impressed when I had called to make an appointment as I spoke to Chris Lee and he was friendly and informative. We met with him on 3/25/18. He was very helpful in giving us information on the type of headstone that was required for the area where my mother's grave site was, the catalogs as well as the sample headstones that was in his office to choose from. With his help, we chose a headstone we were really pleased with that was regal and epitomized my mother's classiness. In the year of the pandemic, my granny passed in June, 2020. Since we had a good experience prior, we decided to come back to this business to get a headstone for her grave site. We met with Steven Bloom on 8/1/20. He was friendly, took time to show us our options and we selected a different headstone that reminded us of her personal style. We paid for the headstone in full (you have the option to make a partial payment) and waited to hear updates on our order. More than two and a half months passed by and I hadn't heard anything regarding our fully paid order so I reached out to Mr. Bloom for an update. I talked to him via phone in October and he remembered me and the order and told me he would call me back that day to provide update details. I didn't get a call back so I called the next day and left him a voicemail as he was out of the office. I still did not hear from him after a few days. It was then that I called again and asked to speak to a manager. I was transferred to a vice president and explained the situation. He looked into it and was honest about what happened which I appreciated. Our order unintentionally got lost in the shuffle. With the pandemic and tons of orders, an error occurred. Sir V.P. apologized for the non-communication of who we dealt with concerning this order and the error. He got right on getting our order processed immediately. He communicated with me by email and by phone as to the developments. I appreciated his willingness to be empathetic to my family on how important getting this headstone done and done right. He was professional at the same time. By the time the headstone was finished, unfortunately it was too late in the year for it to be placed so Sir V.P. said that he would follow up with me in March to see if Glen Oaks Cemetery had placed the headstone. He kept his word and called me on March 1 - the headstone hadn't been placed yet but he would check again and get back to me. My granny's b-day was March 6 so I decided to go out to the cemetery to visit her. I was happy to see that it had looked like they had just placed the headstone either that day or the day before. I personally reached out and thanked Sir V.P. for all of his help and assistance in getting this headstone completed because it was really important to our family. I highly recommend this business. I had visited the location a couple days before my mom passed and they were very respectful and took down all of our information so that after my mom passed they were able to just come in take her body to the home. They also were able to get all of our official documentation information filled out at that moment as well. We had the basic cremation package which allowed us a 30 minute viewing. The space was clean and allowed us some private time with my mom before she was cremated. Receiving her remains and death certificate was also very efficient. We received both a couple business days after the viewing. Thank you for making a difficult life event pain free and simple. That was very important for us as we grieved.

They have multiple rooms, different sizes, some with seating and some without. We got a large room with seating. They have a monitor, if you want to set up a slideshow. They also have a public kitchen and private kitchen, so if you are there for an extended time, you might want to leave food in the kitchen. They have a refrigerator where you can store items. They also provide free coffee. The facility is very nice, and the staff are great. When we got food delivered, Jamie offered to bring it to the kitchen for us so that we wouldn't have to be bothered. At the end of the wake, they let us stay to say our goodbyes as long as we needed to.

Our father grew up in Wheaton, and the location wasn't too far from the cemetery in West Chicago where he was to be buried next to our mother, so this seemed like the perfect place to have his visitation and funeral service. The fact that our father was visiting my sister in Texas at the time of his death did not make things easier. But Dan Williams was there for us, and he informed us of what to expect. My father passed away in the hospital at 1:36 a.m.--a time when I felt lost and didn't know what to do. Dan was there to answer the phone at two in the morning, and he assured me that he would take care of everything. I can't begin to describe the feeling of relief I felt by those words. I told my siblings, "Everything was going to be okay; they've got us." There were extra steps on the part of the state of Texas in getting my father's remains back home, but Dan took care of everything for us, reassuring us of the progress along the way. The "Dad is back home" text when his plane landed and they had him was comforting. One may often read in Yelp reviews the phrase "I cannot say enough...," and it certainly applies here. Dan was there when we arrived back in Illinois to make our father's final arrangements and services. You hear ghost stories of funeral homes preying on the grief of family members to sell them the most expensive items in their inventory. I went in ready to pounce. But it never happened. There was no showing of the $10k casket. We told Dan about the image we had for our father, and what he showed us was perfect. We were told about a vault being required by state law, "but there's no reason to get the expensive one." These are not the sales people my siblings and I were expecting. They were everything I could have hoped for and more. While I'm in no hurry to use their services again--certainly, none of us are--if anyone finds themselves in need of help making final arrangements for a loved one, this is the place to go. If you're reading this review during a time where you feel lost, turn to Williams-Kampp. You'll be in good hands. I'm sorry for your loss, and may peace find you swiftly.

Kapsa Monument Co did a beautiful monument for me and my late husband a few years ago and placed it…read morein a Hillside cemetery. The monument has a vase on each side. Recently one of the vases has become loose. I've tried to reach out to Kapsa a few times. No one ever answers the phone. I've left 3 messages in over a week and half stating my issue and asked for the favor of a reply. I've yet to hear back from Kapsa. This monument wasn't cheap. I've reached out to two other monument companies in the area in the meantime and they are willing to help but say Kapsa should stand behind their business and take care of this. If they can or can't, either way the courtesy of a reply is expected for such an expensive monument. I can't rate them good in the service area as they are non responsive.

Buyer beware. This place is absolutely awful. They will screw you on the contract and they are very…read moredisrespectful. They will intentionally and purposely omit IMPORTANT and KEY things from the contract, and this can screw you in the end. When I caught these items, owner refused to correct them. Here they are: 1.) They verbally said that ALL inscriptions and design are included in the price, but when you get the contract it does not say this, and when you ask the owner to add, he refuses. Don't ever sign the contract unless they clearly write in text that ALL inscriptions and design are included in the headstone price, just like they verbally say. 2.) Draft of the drawing, design, and inscriptions was not attached. How else will you know what the heck you are getting?!?!? Don't accept without this! 3.) Full names of the deceased were omitted. This contract is also combined into the application for the cemetery. Are we just trying to get the cemetery office to guess? 4.) Memorialist didn't sign the cemetery contract on the back, which is required before you can even place any headstone in the cemetery. The cemetery has its own rules which we all have to agree to. We don't own the cemetery. These are all normal procedures for all cemeteries. 5.) Approximate date of delivery was missing. You can't just put a season like spring or summer. The owner was very disrespectful. When trying to resolve this in a calm manner, he talked over me. I tried talking to the owner nicely on the phone, but all he did was hang up on me. Avoid this business, and go to others in the area that will: actually put in writing what they say verbally, are willing to actually fill out a contract completely, and treat you with respect. After all, if you are paying them thousands of dollars for a headstone, I would think that you would at least have the above taken care of. This place is absolutely awful. STAY AWAY.
