Moody does NOT stand behind its work. Use someone else!!!! My leak is back less than a week after they "repaired" it. The second Moody plumber they sent told me my signing the receipt the first Moody plumber gave me the week before was my statement that I approved of what they did and so its no longer their responsibility. Do not use Moody Plumbing. Terrible customer care. After they replaced pipes in my kitchen in 2021, I dealt with recurring blockages and sink backups year after year. When I asked them to work with me to actually diagnose the issue they possibly created (no issues in 18 years) , they generously offered to send someone out... at $300 an hour. Jamie, the main line leaving the kitchen, so beyond the MP repairs, was replaced with PVC by previous owner. You didn't know. read more

Wow used Moodys before so when I had a drainage issue on Monday called them again. Although I thought $910 was a lot I paid it. Now 4 days later I have the same problem but when I call them they only wanted to discuss the $385 emergency call fee and told them they don't guarantee any drainage issues! After reluctantly agreeing to pay the fee they said "I don't have a good attitude and that I should find another plumber"! Talk about BAD customer service! We had a water heater leak and called Moody Plumbing. They set up an appointment for us the next day and Randy with Moody Plumbing told us to shut off the water valve and all would be ok & our water heater would have no further leaking overnight, and the workers would be there the next day. Our association called at the same time and Moody showed up that very same night (uncalled for by us). We told the workers from Moody that the appointment had already been scheduled for the following day and that the leak was already discovered and contained. The workers were very confused and called the home office at Moody for further instructions. They said since they were already at our house, "they may as well start working" and finish the work the next morning at the time we scheduled to come the following day. They did not tell us that to do this in 2 sessions instead of one session, we would be charged an additional $285. The next day they came and charged us $1770 which was almost $300 dollars above the price quoted over the phone. We paid this $1770. Then a few days later we got an additional bill for another $285 for the unnecessary visit on the first evening. This is above the $1770. When I complained, they passed the buck and said I needed to fight this out with my association - but if this were an honest company, they would have left the first evening without doing any work and come back at the pre-arranged already set up appointment time the next day to do all the work - or told us that to work that evening would be an additional charge. We got another bill after paying the $1770 price they asked for in full. Very shady practices with no responsibility to tell customers they will be charged more if they do the job in 2 visits I paid $1770 which was the full invoice price, but this is not enough for Moody Plumbing. DO NOT USE this company and pay more if needed to get a set price that does not increase several days later. They are now demanding an extra $185 for an appointment I did not arrange and that was in no way necessary - maybe after I pay this, they will ask for even more money? How do I now when it stops when a bill from them paid in full means nothing. A reputable company would see that I called them at the same time my association called and then coordinate this to not amount to a higher bill than normally would be charged. Found the floor in the bathroom wet with no obvious cause. Hurricanes, pandemics, and floods, oh my! I could hear a rushing sound behind the wall similar to when someone is using the hose outside. Initially, I thought the hose was left on and water had seeped inside but sadly this was not the case. We shutoff the house main supply and began searching for a plumber. We could already see water had entered the closets and the guestroom so we decided to call an insurance adjuster we have used before. He recommended Moody's plumbing and a few other local plumbing companies. I saw a few Yelpers have had good luck with Moody's so we gave them a call. It was about 10:00 am and the lady on the phone said she could have someone out by 2:00 pm. Fair enough. When the technicians arrived my husband showed them where the water was found etc. The techs had to open a wall to find the cold water supply line had broken. They got us fixed within a couple of hours and and water back on in the house YIPEE! The job was completed efficiently and cleanly. No complaints. We paid $185.00 for the leak detection and $200.00 for the repair. Plumbing is always expensive. Moody's sent us a service report by email the following day. Nice to have for our records. The young lady explained that there was a charge for coming but if they do work they would charge only for the parts and service. I also told her that I have a coupon. She said to just show it to them when they come and they would call me. Seb/Edison were very professional and curtious. Talk about price gouging. I called to have someone come out and snake out a clogged toilet. I explained the lady on the phone that the clean out is right on the exterior wall. She said. $385-500. My saga with Moody began when I called requesting service for a suspected seat seal leak because of water on the floor. My technician was scheduled for Feb. 25 & he showed up that afternoon. His name was Wayne and he had a helper and he was very professional. He inspected the area and said that it was, indeed, a seat seal leak and he and his helper removed the toilet base, repaired the leak and caulked around the base. He pointed out there was superficial crack at one small spot on the base, but assured us it had nothing to do with our issue. It is important to note that we were open to all suggestions and absolutely would have replaced the toilet, has we been ADVISED TO DO SO. No, he said the repair was all we needed. They also replaced the fill valve and flapper. I had a freshly purchased Fluidmaster kit sitting there, so Wayne installed it. The charge was $265 and they were at the house about 45 minutes and I thought it was fair. I tipped them $40. One week later, Friday March 4, I realized that yet again, there was water on the floor. They were not too sympathetic at Moody's when I called and QUICKLY said it was probably some other issue. I did not disagree, but said we've turned off the water and emptied the tank because it was leaking. She said that they were busy but scheduled the service for Monday, March 7. The same technician, Wayne, arrived with a different helper. Over the weekend, we felt like the bolt in the tank was the cause of the leak and not the job that was performed on the 25th. Wayne looked at the tank and agreed this was a new issue and removed the tank and supposedly replaced the bolt, as well as the washer and some other parts. The cost was $285. Again, I relied on him and he seemed knowledgeable and I tipped him $40. A few hours later, there was water on my bathroom floor again! So, here I am $550 later and there is still water on my bathroom floor. Because it was after 5 pm, I called in the morning and the poor woman who answers the phone, a thankless job if ever there was one, listened and did not argue with me. She said they were busy and I cut her off in mid-sentence and said, I wanted someone there TODAY and not Wayne. Sorry, but third time is not a charm. Later that day they sent Mario. He was also very professional and listened when we recounted the last 2 appointments and looked at the paperwork. He and his helper removed the tank and the bolt that Wayne had placed in the tank. He remarked to his helper that a "kit" was typically used and they had not done that, so he installed the whole kit. For some reason, he removed the Fluidmaster and replaced it with one of their own. There was no charge and he pointed out that we "probably" should have simply gotten a new toilet. I was pretty upset and said, NO KIDDING. We did not haggle over price, tipped the first technician twice and took every bit of advice Wayne gave us. But after spending $550 on repairs, I did not trust Moody enough to install a new toilet. Mario offered no credit on the work done if we purchased a new toilet, and again, I don't think I want Moody in my house again. Think my troubles were OVER? Ha. Think again. Two days after Mario left I began to hear the dreaded phantom flush, which typically indicates a problem with the flapper in the tank. We had a brand new Fluidmaster set that worked perfectly and Marion removed it and replaced it without our knowledge until after it was done. Plus, he took our Fluidmaster set! So today, my husband is cursing because he has to go buy a new Fluidmaster, remove the crap they installed and go through the aggravation of installing it (he's not a plumber and he's done it many times over the years, but GEEZ, why do we have to do it when they screwed everything up from top to bottom). We used Moody at least twice in the past. They even installed our hot water heater and worked on things at mu mom's house. NEVER AGAIN. I am speculating that the pandemic impacted their business and they might be short handed, but $550 for a simple job and we still have issues is absolutely ridiculous. No one likes to have to spend money on replacing their water heater but I will say that Moody Plumbing made it less painful. Moody Plumbing sent over two of the most professional, personable and knowledgeable plumbers ever. AJ and Matt came to my home and instantly I could see that these young men were the cream of the crop in their profession. I had an unusual problem in my home - my 65 gallon water heater was in my attic and serviced half of my house while the 40 gallon water heater that serviced the other half of my house was in the garage - luck would have it that the one in the attic was no longer fixable BUT Moody found a way to install a new 80 gallon water heater and re-route all the lines in the attic so it would service the entire home - AMAZING - I don't believe any other plumbing company could have done this job as efficiently - AJ even vacuumed the bedroom where he had to go in and cleaned up the garage after the installation. They are quite a pair - AJ & MAT made this repair as pleasant as it could be - Thank you Moody Plumbing and thank you thank you AJ & MAT - you guys rock!!!!! read more

Unethical practice and price gauging!! Be careful. Received a quote for descaling a new, but never used, tankless water heater. (~$600.00 range) and agreed to have the service done as recommended by this plumber. (No problems were occurring at the time, but they recommended it to be descaled annually) 1 week later, the servicemen arrived to perform this scheduled service and notified us of the NEW price ("Are you aware of the price?" is what the technician said. "It's $865.00, my boss just raised the price") This was greater than 30% higher than the cost of this service was quoted a week earlier. NO notice was given of the significant price increase when the service appointment was confirmed and therefore, we had no opportunity to check prices for same service with other area plumbers. Spoke with this office mgr. who was unapologetic and stated, "That's the price". We refused the service at that time, so we could take time to check with other plumbers...but were then "required to pay an $85.00 service call" when NO SERVICE was provided. Their lack of notification of the price increase BEFORE they came out to do the work is the entire problem. Seems extremely unfair and unethical. We have been homeowners for over 40 years and have never had a situation such as this. So sorry we paid their service charge. Should be called a "LACK OF" SERVICE" charge. Be warned. read more

On Yelp, five stars means, "As good as it gets" and that certainly works for this company. I was heading out the door very early on Friday morning and noticed a puddle of water in front of the water heater. I knew when I bought my house that this appliance was old, so it didn't come as a surprise. But the timing could have been better. I logged onto Yelp and pulled up a list of plumbers, and clicked on the quote button. I put in the information and within minutes I started getting responses. Most of them were in the same ballpark as far as price went, so that didn't much matter. I then called a neighbor and asked if he knew of anyone, and he recommended Moody. He had used them several times and never had an issue. Well, he was right. Moody was absolutely great to work with. Their quote was actually a little bit lower than any of the others. They were coming out on Saturday between 9 and 1, which seemed reasonable to me. Around 11 on Saturday morning I received a call that they might be a little late, but they would try to be there by 1. They arrived at 1:10. I was fine with that. Ronnie and Rich could not have been nicer or more professional. They assessed the situation, had the parts with them and got straight to work. Ronnie said it would take about two hours, and he was pretty much exactly right. By 3:00 p.m. I had a shiny new water heater all hooked up and ready to go. Within 45 minutes, I was able to hit the shower. One thing that I'm a bit confused with is that on Yelp it says that if you request a quote they respond within one day. They responded within the hour. I think that should be updated. I am very happy with the service I received from Moody and I highly recommend them. read more

I love these guys! We've used Moody before, and have always been satisfied. They may charge a bit more than some plumbers, but whenever they've done work at our home, it's been done right. This week was a great example of their commitment to good service and fair treatment. After the sound of rushing water behind our shower wall woke me at 1:37 a.m., I imagined the worst. I turned off the house's water supply and lay in bed picturing broken tiles, a gaping hole in the shower wall, and a stupendously costly repair to find and fix a leak. At 8 am, I called Moody. The good news: they could come out the same day. The bad: it would likely be expensive. I printed a $35-off coupon from their website, and waited. Fortunately, Victor, and Marc, a supervisor with more than 15 years experience at Moody, were excellent leak detectives. Marc checked our spinning water meter, and investigated several alternatives inside and out BEFORE hacking into the wall. Luckily, the culprit turned out to be a broken line to a backyard hose bib, where seawall construction is underway. He shut off a valve to the problem area. Voila. No wildly spinning meter; no rushing water sound behind the shower. The charge: a very fair $125. The bad line will be fully repaired once construction ceases. From my first call to office to the arrival of Marc and Victor, Moody's team was courteous and knowledgeable. We'll definitely hire them again. 5 stars all around read more

The technicians made a service call to my home earlier this month. They could not figure out how to remove the handle from my shower in order to replace the cartridges. They came in with a large bag with tools floating around looking for the proper allen wrench. they tried for some time with what was obviously the wrong tool  to no avail. I called the office to complain but the woman I spoke with told me she with talk to the manager and get back to me. While I waited I was able to find out the name of the manufacturer and got back to the office with the information. This generated the attached estimate for the repair in the amount of $1065.00. I got in touch with Aquabrass, the manufacturer and they told me that it required a 4mm METRIC allen wrench and that they would be happy to send me a manual. I was also sent the replacement cartridges. I spent 2 hours today doing the job. I am requesting you send me a refund for the $85.00. as your people were not qualified to do the service. I have been using Moody Plumbing for many years. Mostly with toilet flushers and they don't last more than a year. They used a medal snake and scratched the toilet as well. My most recent experience was a need for a new garbage disposal. I am a full-time Caretaker for my 94 year old Mother, and needed this problem solved. They charged me $465.00 to install a $122.00 disposal that took about 20 minutes. I called the office and got the response of "that's what we charge". I believe this is called Price Gouging! Let's see. Had a loop leak. Think continual running water. So not a circumstance that would allow us to look around for plumbers. Moody is nearby so scheduled them. Moody cut 6 huge holes through our walls all within close proximity...they cut the holes but warning, they do not patch the drywall or recommend anyone who will, which would be a nice gesture. Moody ran the new plumbing pipes on the outside of the house, not through the interior garage as we had agreed upon on day 1 with the plumber. What?! Now we have ugly pipes exposed on our patio and we worry when they announce cold weather. Moody cracked our attic access panel. Whoops! Left us hanging to re hook up the dishwasher they pulled out, or was going to charge us $185, to come back. This took another hired guy 7 minutes. Ouch! Knocked our kitchen recessed can light out of place when in the attic, so it dropped down. Ugh! We pointed all of this out & got a shrug...it didn't make the punch list, which is a joke cause their has been no attempt to come back and fix anything. And when the hours worked vs charges were summed up billed us OVER $485 AN HOUR "all in" 6.25 hrs over 2 days...yes I timed it. Bloody Hell! Frankly Moody, I don't give a flying fig how you bill $185 for discovery and then charge a flat massively excessive rate for the actual fix. Moody is gouging the general public and that's unconscionable. When a household is left without flushing toilets and water, after they stop the leak, Moody knows you aren't going shopping for a new plumber and better price. They got you. I bet they laugh about that. I agreed to the price not knowing how fast they could run the new pipes, or how few materials they needed to complete the job. I could have waited for an itemized quote explaining their charges but i was told I would have to delay the repair 2 days waiting for a quote. They know no one with turned off water is going to delay 2 more days for a quote, so they get you there too. I imagine another round of laughs at the shop. Upon completion and contemplation of the work & damage. I contacted Moody and got a response that said, they were on vacation and would get back to me when they returned. Two people saw that email, Jamie and the estimator...Crickets so far. It's been well over a month. 2 stars because they fixed the leak and arrived on schedule. Service was extremely overpriced for non complicated job. I would never recommend them after this job as the actual work was even worse then price. They only had to run 2 small water lines from a machine to the outside plumbing. First instead of running the lines under the carpet they want up and around the door in the room. Second what's even worse the two lines had to go through the wall to the outside plumbing and they decided cut 12 inch square out of my wall. The lines are about the same thickness of number 2 pencil. I have showed multiple plumbing companies and they have all agreed that was all around disaster. There was no need to cut a giant hole out of the wall and the lines could of been non-discreet. Stay away and find a reliably company that does good service at a fair price. This one is neither of those and now I will have to pay someone else to do that job I should of got the first place. Now the owner is trying act like this horrible job was not done by their employees. Luckily I kept a copy of my receipt. Now what do you have to say about this crap workmanship. You going to come fix my wall and do the job as it should of been done the first time? I doubt it, I'm sure you'll come up with another excuse. The owner is full of crap, my wife never told them or approved them cut a giant whole in wall. We also did not want the lines just thrown on the ground or to go around the door. I never also gave you permission to discuss my medical condition(equipment) and that just shows what horrible company you are. My association called this company when there was a leak in my unit's bedroom, We had shut my water off for 24 hours but then 22 hours in, leaking had started again, we had also cut a hole in the wall to make evaluation easier! When they came, they said twice it was not my shower, went looking at neighbor's unit, couldn't find a source of the leak at their units! came back and spent more time trying to figure it out, 3 1/2 hours later they said it was my shower and left! I Used my toilet and water started gushing, called my Plummer who fixed the problem! After that I used the shower numerous times without leaking, It was recommended to me to replace my shower as the pan wasn't put in properly originally, and could cause problems! Received an unitemized bill from Moody through my association, when I called to ask for an itemized bill the person who answered the phone said she was in charge, they do not itemize their bills, and she could not answer me why it took so long if they could actually see a hole as stated on invoice, she was rude, I hung up! On my invoice it says: cause of leak: shower drain riser has a hole that we could see! this was never stated to us at the time and if this was the case why did it take 3 1/2 hours and they went bothering my neighbors! unitemized bill was $465.00! read more

I have a leak in the slab of my concrete. I called for a quote and they are telling me it's required to get a leak search ( just had one done yesterday by another company) in order to find the beginning and end of the leak. The entire cold water line needs to be replaced and a leak search is just another way to tack on some charges. Was referred to them.. will not use them. read more

I have called Moody plumbing on two occasions and been very happy with my service both time. The first time I called them out bc I had no idea why my water bill was $400+ a month. They worked with the leak detection company to find the leak and fix it. It was a costly job but they had to rip up concrete and crawl under my house to correct the problem. On the second occasion the technician that came to my house was so polite and professional. He fixed my problem quickly and efficiently. I recommend Moody to anyone who needs a plumber.
