I've never actually been inside but a coworker of mine has brought donuts from here several times and each time I've tried one it has been OUTSTANDING. So many places today rely on crazy flavors and extreme amounts of sugar to make their donuts special - but this place knows how to make even the most basic of donuts taste like heaven in your mouth. Love this place! We gets donuts from here often on Sunday mornings and they are always so delicious. I highly recommend any of their filled donuts. Our favorites are raspberry and cherry. Coffee is really good as well and service is always great. If you're in the area stop here for your donuts! Where do I even start? In my opinion, the first donut you should try at any donut shop to judge there ability, is a plain old glazed donut. At Moon, they take the cake for THE best plain glazed donut, and there isn't even a close second (especially in MN). Their filled donuts, WOW. They have everything from apple, to blueberry, and then all the way down to apricot and pineapple. They even have a PB&J filled donut! Unfortunately, I haven't been able to try this treasure because they are sold out every time I go there. They perfectly execute a maple bacon long john with a fantastic balance of maple sweetness and crispy bacon (my personal fave other than their glazed). Every donut they make is perfectly executed and that's why I give them such high praise. They don't have a "meh" donut, they are all really good. The bottom line, get there less than 2 hours after they open or they'll be dang near cleaned out! I stopped here on a whim and I was pleasantly surprised. We got a peanut butter and jelly filled sugar cinnamon, a chocolate glazed, and a cream cheese filled chocolate glazed. The filled donuts had just the right amount of filling, the peanut butter could have had more jelly but was delicious for all of that. The peanut butter was real peanut butter not pastry cream or anything. The cream cheese was great too not too sweet. The dough was just right as well. Nice and fluffy. The chocolate glazed was a little dry. It was probably over fried but its not my favorite anyways, my partner wanted it so no sweat off of my back. The shop is cute and the service was awesome! This is an update to the review I posted earlier. Despite my very bad (one star) first experience, I have come here a handful of times since then and my experience was good every time. I personally haven't had their breakfast sandwiches or food, but their donuts and cookies are the best in town. The coffee is ok. I ordered a cold press coffee once and I'm pretty sure it was just iced coffee, not cold brewed. The two taste very different. If I get anything to drink from now on it would be tea, since they have TeaSource brand teas here! My favorite TeaSource tea, Blue Beauty Oolong, doesn't seem to be available but they do have a good selection. If you want to get any food or coffee beverages on a Saturday morning, be prepared to wait a while. However if you only get donuts, you are helped very promptly. I was here the other afternoon and the employees were working very hard to repair the couch inside, not sitting around just because it wasn't busy. All in all, there is room for improvement, but I have enjoyed coming here and have noted the improvement in service since my first experience. Thank you! read more

I have been to Moon on many occasions and am still obsessed. Believe it or not, but by far the best thing on the menu is the donut holes. They are insanely delicious. I was raised on Dunkin Donuts in Chicago. These donuts were better than most in Minnesota but the donut dough seemed very sweet.

I never knew donuts could be a delicacy. OMG The only problem with this place is you can never order ENOUGH! The cake donuts are like eating cake a FRESH cake The glazed donuts are so light fluffy & wonderful it's like biting into a sugary puff. They are never greasy like some places they are simply confection perfection! Hubs got my birthday cake there & it was the best I've ever had. I don't really know what to think about this place. I've been a few times with both bad and good experiences. The first time I went in and was not greeted with two employees and no other customers in the store. I stood there for about 3 minutes then walked out. I went in again because my daughter (2) had asked for a doughnut earlier in the day. The staff was super friendly that day.My third time was weird and awkward as the girl who helped me seemed a little out of it. I had to repeat what I wanted 3 times (1 item). When I gave her $1.01 for my $.91 order she froze and another employee had to reach in the register and give me my dime change. Today the employees were great and they even made my daughter a doughnut with sprinkles since they didn't have any out. I guess after all this, the donuts are ok, the service is hit or miss. read more

In a town full of chains this is a welcome addition. They have great donuts! I have seen a menu with breakfast and specialties coffees, and will let you know how those are as well. Worth a stop even if it is just for a blueberry glazed cake donut. read more
