Wentworth Greenhouses - This was a wonderful Philodendron Birkin which is somewhat rare and we got a great price on it too.

I don't know where to start. This place is plant lover paradise. When I first walked in I was…read moreoverwhelmed with plant joy and thought I went to plant heaven. Weather you are new to the plant world or a seasoned gardener they have something for everyone. Houseplants galore, and the prices are amazing. I have found harder to find houseplants here for amazing prices allowing me to affordably build my houseplant collection. During the summer they have every kind of outdoor plant, flowers, trees, shrubs, etc. The inside boasts rows of gorgeous plants, succulents, herbs, houseplants super large and small. They sell gardening tools, soil, fertilizer, seeds/starter kits, plant remedies, gardening decor and have a beautiful selection of pots and planters too. I have seen snake plants here over 6-7 feet tall, enormous fiddle leaf figs, anything you can imagine they probably have it at some point. One part of the greenhouse has cute rustic house decor and gifts. During the winter months they still maintain a large houseplant selection, and turn a portion of the greenhouse into a beautiful Christmas wonderland full of beautiful Christmas decor. They also sell real Christmas trees, pine wreathes and pine decor. The staff is always super friendly and helpful. At one point over the summer I think I came here once a week! I am very happy that they are open during the winter months and are following all Covid safety precautions as well. Definitely helped me cope with 2020. I can't boast about them enough! Also, I'm happy to say that every plant that I have purchased from them has done well and I have never had any issues with pests.

Beautiful selection of plants both common and not so common. Was ecstatic to come here and be able…read moreto find something Jew I hadn't seen offered anywhere else before. A great place if you want to add anything to a plant collection!

My wife and I were first introduced to O'Donal's Nursery thanks to a Yelp Elite event and wanted to…read morereturn. Today was that day with them hosting a Mother's Day pop up with Eighty 8 Donuts and the newly opening Mini Bar coffee trailer. It's the perfect time of year to visit here with Maine finally getting warmer and nicer weather. Despite the somewhat rainy and gloomy start to the day the sun has come out and so have so many people. They have a large parking lot but it's been very full. If you are looking for any plant this is the place to visit! From the smallest options including Bonsai trees and succulents all the way up to trees and more. You could spend hours here walking down and looking at each and every plant they have for sale! We even had a great time just browsing and looking at all the beautiful plants. They had many members of staff who were putting more plants out but all willing to help with any customers who needed it. I thought prices were reasonable for what they were. Some were high but it was for large or non common things. Besides the plants they also have an indoor shop with bird feeders, feed, books, and more. Extremely well maintained and thought out business with phenomenal staff and an incredible variety of plants for sale. A true paradise for those with a green thumb!

What do I love MOST here?…read more 1) The staff! I'm not sure you're ever going to meet people who care as deeply as these folks do. Any question or concern you have about absolutely anything related to local flora/succulents/bonsais, or a troublesome indoor plant you have at home (... that they didn't even sell you), or about what grows best in xyz condition inside or outside - they're gonna know. And they're not gonna lead you astray! 2) The property! This has been a nursery for over a century. It's now an employee-owned cooperative.. There's a garden center stock with tools and supplies for home gardeners, as well as gifts, books, pottery, and more; this sits on their 50+ acres - 10+ of which is open to the public (ask for a map when you show up! No really, this'll make your experience even better!). You could absolutely make coming here an event: bring your iced coffee and just meander the shrubs, bushes, trees, and perennials. You'll even find the occasional bench or Adirondack chair inviting you to take it all in. I bought a really healthy Sansevieria here last winter, and it's thriving! I for sure will be buying my future houseplants here (they also offered some free advice on my Trader Joe's rubber tree plants which I appreciated). Unfortunately, I wasn't able to buy my herbs and veggies here for this summer's raised beds - did I come too late? While the options were plentiful in mid-May, by the end of May there were no herbs or veggies left; just loads of flowers. Maybe they were in between stock? I get nervous planting super early, because our spring weather has become so unpredictable, so it was a bummer to have to go elsewhere for those things this year. Maybe next year I'll be able to get my garden plants here!
