Today we decided to try Moon Star Cafe after reading the reviews. I was torn between 3 to 4 stars because the food we had was very tasty and the service could not have been better. However, what I ordered, although delicious, was nothing like what was described on the menu. I ordered the chicken wrap with fries and it was described as slices of grilled chicken on a warm tortilla with bacon, cheese and lettuce. See the pictures below so you can see what I actually received. My husband's steak panini was very good but his side salad had no dressing, nor was dressing offered. Moon Start always serves up tasty food. We make it a point to stop in for breakfast when we're staying at Paradise Resort. The good: The food is good and serving sizes are good. Not too much, but you won't leave feeling like you need more food. The services is always friendly and prompt. The exchange rate - as I recall, there's was one of the better ones in the area. Great food for an affordable price! The staff were attentive, made good food recommendations and checked on us regularly. They have ample seating and an extensive menu for breakfast or lunch lovers. Our food came out quickly and was delicious. The chilaquiles did not come with onions on top despite the photo, may be worth ordering them on top if you'd like them - the flavor was rich and tasty even without the onion. The paninis were good but there was more bread compared to the amount of filing. For the price I would highly recommend skipping the hotel brunch and making a trip here once or twice in your trip to Nuevo Vallarta. read more

Authentic, fresh, delicious. Come hungry, leave comatose! Great, quick and efficient service. Had the Chilaquiles Rojo y Verde con Frijoles y huevo. The Refried Beans are amazingly flavored and fresh. Had a turkey & onion omelette with the juiciest and sweetest fruitas: Pineapple and Canteloupe. Not a coffee drinker but their Caramel Macchiato was smooth, creamy and it came with a shot of Vanilla syrup, which initially, we thought was a shot of Tequila. They have all kinds of fresh juices. We went with the Green, which made you feel like you were drinking fresh cut herbs and fruit. Excellent location, especially if you're staying on the Paradise Village Beach resort. Quite an awesome selection. Really a hidden gem in a pretty deserted shopping mall. This place is upstairs on the second level next to Nopalito's. you can sit inside the cafe part or out along the balcony overlooking the rest of the mall. They have their menu in Spanish and English and the prices are almost laughable they're so cheap. My boyfriend and I got coffee (one mocha and one cappuccino, steak and eggs (his with pancakes and mine with home fries) and the bill was like US$19. The selection of pancakes, waffles, egg dishes, and cold items were plentiful. If you couldn't find something to meet your dietary concerns then the problem is with you, not them. And without a doubt, the service is great. The waiters and bussers brought out and cleaned up the plates so quickly. Tried this place as a suggestion from a friend who eats here every day on their annual vacation here, and am so glad we did. This place quickly became our favorite little off-resort eatery, and I will definitely return the next time we are in town. Service was excellent and so was the food. It was morning and I was walking by with my girlfriend trying to find a good place to eat breakfast while on vacation. I passed up Moon Star before because It was in the mall. So many other places should have good food and allow me to eat with a nice view right? . . . After all we are one vacation. But for some reason I gave in I guess because of my willingness to try new things or just they fact because it was close and the menu looked like it somewhat catered to vegetarians. Well we went and I just enjoyed everything! I had the spinach cheddar omelet and the Blueberry Waffle. Now the menu will say waffle topped with blueberries but I loved my blueberries inside and they did that for me no problem. It was great! The omelet was also very delicious and the service was great! I have gone back and will continue to go back. The price is low, the food is great! The only think they are lacking is the view. read more

This has been my breakfast spot all week! The food is delicious and you have to get the smoothies! I have gotten the strawberry swirl which I would say is my favorite. I've gotten the more basic breakfast combos, omelets and strawberry French toast. The French toast has a sugar that's like caramelized to the top. It was absolutely delicious. Overall a great place to get breakfast. Staff is very friendly and cautious. For three smoothies and three meals the total was under 25 dollars. The smoothies are also very large! I used to live in Nuevo Vallarta for almost 10 years tasting food from all the restaurants in the zone. To my surprise, when Moonstar Cafe opened for the first time in 2015 I though it was just another culinary failure. Honestly I never tried their food, until I went to Puerto Vallarta for vacations and I give them a try. I couldn't feel more ashamed of myself for not noticing this hidden jewel. Definitely is one of the best breakfast restaurant I had ever tried in the whole Banderas Bay. Customer service was excellent, atmosphere comfortable, and the food was without doubt extraordinary. We came here for breakfast with the family. It was a good combination of America and Mexican options. The kids loved their pancakes and waffles. The poached eggs were done to perfection. My shrimp fajita omelette was delicious. The service was also very good. It was faster than most Mexican restaurants we have been to.
