    Mexican Coffee
    Bill S.

The Mrs. and I had breakfast this morning at Vallarta Factory. We had originally stopped by the River Cafe because I wanted their Machaca but only a buffet was being offered because it was Mexican Mother's Day. Once we arrived at Vallarta Factory we were seated by David who was also our server. Vallarta Factory is a coffee shop, a wine bar, a bakery, and a restaurant. Cigars are also sold as well as chocolate. The menu has several options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The Mrs. ordered the eggs Benedict with bacon instead of ham. Instead of being the eggs and bacon being placed on an English muffin it was placed on what looked like a biscuit. The eggs were slightly overcooked but the Mrs. enjoyed it. I ordered the Machaca and after having the Vallarta Factory version I don't need to return to River Cafe. Both the eggs Benny and the Machaca came with side of sautéed potatoes. I ordered a cup of regular coffee which was rich and the Mrs. ordered Mexican Coffee which she enjoyed. The only negative thing I do have to mention is that David seemed a little short with us. I kinda got the feeling from the way other staff interacted with him that he was new because there seemed to be a great deal of frustration with him.

Service was wonderful and the location was central. The fish was very fresh and delicious. The shrimp tacos were filled with plump and juicy shrimp. The drinks were hand made and refreshing. The cheesecakes were tasty but different from what I am used to.

We decided this place because it looked welcoming when we walked by Food: 2/5 My family ordered some of the fish and enjoyed it but my brother and I shared the Mexican platter and it wasn't good. The food tasted like it had been overcooked and then reheated the next day in a microwave. I would not recommend this place for food. The coffee is not bad so I would go back for the coffee Service: 4/5 the service was pretty normal. They were friendly and got the job done and also spoke English which helped.

Let me start off by saying that I'm not a coffee drinker. We were in the Zona Romantica to do some souvenir shopping and ended up stumbling upon this place as we were hot and the other half wanted an iced coffee. Upon entering, I felt a cold blast of air and I was already in heaven. After being in the sweltering heat and humidity it was a welcome change of atmosphere. The inside is very nicely decorated and we were greeted by a friendly staff member. I ordered a lemonade and both of our drinks came and they were both great and refreshing. She went and got a chocolate as they have hand-made chocolates and I ended up getting a piece of lime cheesecake after seeing another patron eating some pie and it looked good. The lime cheesecake was heavenly. It tasted almost like a key lime pie and was so good. Easily the best dessert I had in my entire stay in Puerto Vallarta. We ended up getting some coffee beans to take back home too. Overall, I'd give this place 5 stars. The prices were reasonable and the staff was very friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend if you need a break from the heat and the price haggling over souvenirs!

Some of the best chocolate and coffee I've ever had in my life! Jesus was a fantastic server. Our favorite chocolates were the passionfruit, baileys, and the salted caramel. We took some coffee home with us. The tuna poke was perfect on a hot day and the sangrias are fantastic.

Great coffee shop / restaurant / bar. Most if not all of the staff speak English -- we have been here many times and have never had any struggles communicating. Nice ambiance, tasty food with fresh ingredients, and the drinks are excellent! They even accept cryptocurrency/ Bitcoin!! :)

We ate at Vallarta Factory this morning. The service was great. They had the best café de olla I have ever had. This restaurant also has a panadería next to it. They also make their own chocolates and desserts like cheesecakes. I had the desayuno americano and my fiancé had chorizo and eggs. We both enjoyed our breakfast. We also saw that they were having a restaurant meeting with the staff and owners and it seemed like the owners were cordial to their employees.

Our group stopped by here when we were in the area checking out cuale river island and church of our lady of Guadalupe and it was such an amazing find! Our group got coffees and chocolates. The passion fruit dark chocolate was our absolute favorite. We bought some to go, and I'll be thinking about this chocolate for a long time it was so good. Our coffees we all ordered were also delicious. They offer food and cocktails as well, so they have whatever you want. The service was amazing, and the seating inside was very comfortable. They had outdoor seating as well.

It was right outside of my hotel. Kinda empty in the Monday lunch time. But it was nice. We had the Mexican platter. And that's the only dish we ordered. 440ish for so much food is a steal to me. We couldn't even finish it. The grilled steak and the guacamole is a bit too salty but everything else tastes really good. Sweat Heart is pretty sweet lol.

We had the chilaquiles and French toast.

While the wait can be a bit unpredictable, it's usually not too long, especially during the summer. However, if you visit in the winter, it can take a while. The food here is reasonably priced and the portions are generous. The only thing that confuses me is the fruit water of the day. The cups are incredibly small, and for 30 pesos, I expected more. I've noticed that some tables have their water refilled, while others have been changed. I'm not sure if this is a policy or just a coincidence. The service is okay, but nothing extraordinary. They have a limited number of tables and don't have air conditioning, so it can get quite hot inside and outside. However, you're here to eat and go, so don't expect a sit-down experience. One important thing to note is that they only accept cash. So, make sure to bring some pesos with you.

It's thicker, more cheesy than what I've ever had before and very delicious. We paired that with the prime rib tacos, it was a plate stacked with meat and 4 tortillas under it, more than we could eat. The seasoning was great, it was diced so small that it was easy to eat. The ribeye had so much fat that we had to pick through it just to eat it. The al pastor was very average - I've had much better at plenty of other taco spots. The biggest disappointment was the chorizo. It wasn't traditional chorizo at all; it looked and tasted more like chopped-up hot dogs. We barely touched it because it wasn't what we ordered expecting, and it just wasn't good. The presentation also wasn't appealing. The meat was simply piled on top of two tortillas, making everything messy and difficult to eat. They were also pretty stingy with the grilled jalapeños. The salsas didn't do the food any favors either. None of them really stood out, and the green guacamole salsa actually tasted like it had gone bad, so we stopped eating it. Service was attentive, but almost too attentive. Staff kept coming by every few minutes to ask if we were finished or if we needed anything. While I appreciate good service, it made us feel like we were being rushed through our meal instead of being able to enjoy it at our own pace. Overall, I don't understand the high ratings based on our experience. With so many amazing taco spots in Puerto Vallarta, this one didn't come close to meeting the hype. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back.
