I purchased several Bismarck Palms, Mule Palms and Mexican Blue fan Palm, spent about $8000. Our landscaper planted them for us. We had a pool put in and purchased about $2000 in plants. They gave us wholesale pricing which was 50% off. ($30-50% = 15.) I went back to purchase 16 more. When I was checking out he let me know the manager raised the cost and he could only give me $5 off each plant. He should have told me before we picked out the plants. I would have gone to Home Depot and save $10 per plant. read more

From the minute we got out of our car to the clean up after planting, the service was impeccable from the Avondale crew. Our botanist and designer Wesley, created a design that was cohesive with our existing plantings but raised the level of our landscaping from builder grade (uninspired) to "Wow!". He dropped in some specimen plants that create a lot of interest and portray a more upscale appearance. The crew that did the prep and pruning were a joy to watch, it was like a ballet. They clearly were experts and proud of their expertise. The planting crew were amiable, fast, talented and pleasant even though we were the last installation on a Friday afternoon. For example, I can never eat a whole typical orange. So wE tried the fruit from a few oranges and decided to go with mandarins because the flavor is good and enough for me to eat and not waste fruit because I can't eat a whole orange. 1 summer ago, I purchased 10 trees for about $900. delivered and planted. That was in 2012, and an outstanding value when I purchased it. (I know a lot of the places around here couldn't even come close to that, or if they could, had additional charges to deliver and/or plant). Most of you know that the winter of 2012 had a lot of frosty nights and it killed 4 of my trees. I was mortified - in the course of one winter, almost half of my purchase was shot, and Moon Valley certainly had no obligation to do anything except sell me new trees. Figuring I had nothing to lose but a little dignity, I approached them and explained my situation, and they looked us up in the computer. But to my surprise, they were more than reasonable and we worked out an extremely fair deal. I spoke with salesman David Spencer - great guy! - and we approached the manager to see if they could help me. We were able to come to a more than reasonable solution, and without a lot of hassle. These guys are customer-centric, and I really appreciate how they handled the situation and stood behind their products. I got way more than I paid for, and I will be back, I will tell my friends, and I was motivated to share my positive experience here. read more

I have had negative experience here. I spent a lot of money on plants that I was told were full sun plants. As soon as I got home the plants burned from excessive sun exposure. The salesman was dishonest about plants being full sun. I returned and ask for a credit and they refused. I also found their delivery and install prices to be excessive. Since then I was contacted by the General Manager (Eric) and he sincerely apologized for his salesman. He is crediting my account for the plants that I lost and additionally lowering the cost of delivery and installation. I appreciate the forward thinking of the General Manager because he shows concern about customer satisfaction. He has earned me back as a customer. read more

I had been ghosting Moon Valley for over 2 years because I had no clue what I wanted for my empty backyard. I met very friendly staff at the Mesa location who were patient in showing me the various trees, vines and answering my questions. I learned so much from each of of them. Also, really impressed by Cesar J and his team who were very organized and quite efficient in planting 3 trees, 12 vines, and 2 small shrubs. He was also very knowledgeable and recommended planting sage and rosemary bushes near my window that will help reduce mosquitoes and they are edible. He is a great salesman besides being a great manager. He also provided great instructions on how to care with written guidelines which a beginner is very helpful. There is one thing I want to add to the instructions - dont overwater citrus and if leaves are yellow, apply iron chelate. Also, add beneficial nematodes to rid of the bugs such as grubs, gnats, termites etc. I had no idea gardening is a real science in and of itself and so glad your team are very pleasant to interact with. We've purchased trees every few years from Moon Valley and they always do a nice job with planning for the planting, digging, cleanup and follow up. George and his crew did the last two plantings we had this last year and are always on time and respectful of the property. the trees are in good shape when they get to us and they give them the best change for survival in the Arizona sun. we recommend working with them and will continue to do so going forward. read more

Do not go to MoonValley. We paid for over $10,000 in plants/trees, and are highly unsatisfied. They will tell you anything to make the sale. First of all, we were told that upon the purchase, we would be given plant food/supplement like Moon Valley Juice, but we received nothing. Second, we bought the warranty on all of our trees, and we were told that this warranty would include all of the plants we purchased for one year. It has been less than one year since planting, and we have 4 dead plants, which they are now refusing to replace. As i said, they will tell you anything to make the sale. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere. They are overpriced and will not follow thru on their promises. Don't make the same mistake that we did. I will never purchase from Moon Valley again! read more

Very frustrated by Moon Valley's customer service. Stopped in on November 21 and placed an order for approx. $5070 and was told all plants, trees, and palms were available. We informed staff we would be back in a day or two to pick up and was informed that that would be fine. Sadly, that was not the case. On the day of pickup, Moon Valley told us that they could only fill half the order. HALF?!?! How is that possible? With regret, we took the limited order, asked for the balance back, and got our other plants elsewhere. Staff told our employee that they needed the credit card used for the order for the refund. So back in I go. I provided them with the card and was told it would take a day or two for the refund. Well here I sit six days later still waiting for the refund. What a joke! Call is being placed now in another attempt to resolve this issue. Fingers crossed. Not how this transaction should have gone and I have provided them with lots of business in the past. Think it may be time to utilize another nursery for my business needs. read more

I am so glad I went with Moon Valley for my tress over Home Depot. The cost per tree were more at Moon Valley but the quality of tree that we received is much more than we could have ever anticipated. I will never again base my decision to purchase tress based on the "Lowest Price" rather I will base it on Quality and Moon Valley's reputation for quality cannot be matches anywhere else in Arizona. Purchasing trees that are growing in Arizona makes such a difference from those that are grown in California and ship to Arizona like Home Depot or Lowe's. I purchase these tress in May or 2018 and 9 months later, this is what I now have. Disclaimer: I use their soil conditioner very generously since I had very hard "clay like" soil (Caliche). After using their soil conditioner, the soil around my trees is very soft and farm like. At first I thought that the soil conditioner was an upsell that really is not necessary but now I am a big believer in their products. Every three months I also insert fertilizer spikes made by miracle grow that I buy at Home Depot. read more

They have a large selection of trees and plants and very attentive during the sales phase. Delivery was on time and installed quickly. The delivery guys left without taking off the sales tags. Service after the sale is typical. Once the check clears we were not a priority. We were concerned about our trees and had to email several times to get a response, now they don't respond. Still in my 90 day warrantee period so will be sure to follow up. Prices are high compared to other nurseries but I thought service would justify the price. In hindsight, I would go to a less expensive nursery. read more

We had a queen palm tree give up on us this summer, so I called to check on prices. Steven Lopez was a great help early on. He asked for pictures to make sure we got the right kind and size of palm tree. When we finally got around to going to the nursery, we were lucky to deal with Steven again. He helped us pick out a new palm tree and gave us some great suggestions for another tree and some other plants. They were able to come out within a week to plant the two trees and three shrubs. The crew called as promised and showed up when they said they would. They left the yard better than before they came. Steven also followed up to see if we were satisfied and had any questions. Marc and his team were very professional with the delivery, I couldn't believe how fast they put all five trees in. Marc went over with us how to take care of the trees for the first few weeks. If we get any more plans delivered I hope to Marc and his team deliver them. 6/28/2106. I will never purchase anything from These scam artists again. Their install crew cut our Internet line putting in one of the trees (and said nothing) so we had no Internet for a week. Centurylink had to come out and retrench a new line. We paid $400 each for 5 trees that apparently weren't grown in AZ because they are struggling to make it through the summer. Worse, we went to another nursery that had the same size, same age, Arizona grown citrus trees for $160. I could have bought 4 of those and spent $1,200 on a 48 in box tree for the front yard that Moon Valley wanted $3,000+ for. They didn't even give us the extras (like "Moon Juice") We were promised. And all purchases are final, all they will do is exchange a plant, once. Never again. read more

Called and spoke to Eric who quoted me $299 for a 32" box Arizona Sweet Orange Tree plus $100 to plant it. I told him I would drive over there and pick one out. When I got there I went straight to the orange trees and looked at the trees with the Moon Valley tag that said "Arizona Sweet Orange" and found the same trees also had tags from the original grower that said Valencia Orange which I didn't want, I wanted a Trovita or one of the other Arizona Sweet Orange varieties that doesn't normally include the Valencia. I walked to the tent and was helped by someone named Justin that told me the Valencia was an Arizona Sweet Orange (no other nursery includes the Valencia in the Arizona Sweet category). I had found one tree that didn't have a Valencia tag and just said Arizona Sweet Orange and asked what that was and he said "probably a Trovita but there is no way to tell". I asked what the out the door price was including tax and having it planted and he said $600 plus tax. I informed him that I was just quoted $299 plus $100 for planting and he said he would only give me that price if I bought multiple trees. I told him that wasn't what I was quoted as I only asked about a single tree and he said there was nothing he could do and Erik wasn't around. I left without a tree and will be driving across the valley this weekend to purchase an Arizona Sweet Orange from another nursery. Even Moon Valley's own website doesn't list the Valencia as an "Arizona Sweet". read more

We've actually been scoping out Moon Valley for years before our first big purchase. Not gunna lie there were some initial growing pains, we shopped around, did our research but ultimately this is probably one of the best nurseries out of the many that I've been to in the valley. Yeah it's a little more expensive then most but when you're picking and paying for major/permanent trees or plants for your home the quality and color you get from Moon Valley is infinitely better than 90% of the other nurseries in Phoenix. They also have some really reasonable financing and deals to help with the budget. Even with some minor snafus the management team (Steven & Mark) handled everything with excellent customer service. It's because of that that we keep coming back. They've really taken care of us and being first time tree & plant owners they had no problem answering the millions of questions we had. Honestly for peace of mind plus the quality of product you're getting here the price sits a little easier knowing the job is going to get done right, the trees are getting planted properly, there are warranties and accountability so we don't have to worry about the what if's. It's less stress and hassle running around town to different nurseries to find what a I need when you can get everything in one place. This is a great location and you'll really see the difference. I bought our family Christmas tree from Moon Valley this year and I have to say I was nothing but impressed. The staff was very welcoming and professional. I am one of those shoppers that doesn't like when staff lurk behind me. The guys working that night were quick to ask if I needed help. They were also quick to realize that I just wanted to browse with my family. They checked in regularly throughout our 30 (or so) minute visit. Once we found our tree the boys worked very quickly to check us out and get us out the door. They even threw in a tree bag once I realized I had forgotten to ask for one! They tied the tree to the top of my suv and I (for the first time) was not worried at all about it flying off. Overall I got a very welcoming feeling from a well run business. The staff are quick, efficient and friendly! You guys earned a returning customer that night. As a side note here we are the day after Christmas and my tree hasn't dropped a single needle. This place is the worst! We spent extra money on a warranty and have been trying for months to schedule over the phone for them to replace the bushes that died and we finally had enough and decided to go in to talk to them. Now we are being told our warranty expired! If they had taken care of it when we first told them they were not taking, this wouldn't be a problem. Instead they kept insisting that we just needed to water them and wouldn't even come look at them. Waist of $2,000! All the bushes are dead. You are better off going to the Walmart Home and Garden area. read more
