John and Stephen were incredible to work with! Everyone was super knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely not the least expensive but well worth it for the education and the 90-day guarantee (when they plant)

I have done business with MVN since my last bad experience. I have also done business with another professional tree service that I like. Why did I go back To MVN? Because I can pick the tree that I want. The other tree service has been good for removal and treatments (which MVN also does), but I cannot pick my trees. I had a much better experience my last trip. Why only 4 stars then? I still don't like the business practice of claiming 50% off and free planting that costs $300.00 to get to the job. Also everything seems dreadfully overpriced. A 3' lime tree at $700.00 and a large pot for $600.00. What was good? A great selection and beautiful trees. I have had dishonest sales people in the past, but this time, Brad and Dai' Tiara helped me and were very pleasant and knowledgeable. It was a much better experience this time. So, I needed several large palm trees and a Jacaranda tree. I think MVN is the only game in town for the palms that I needed. Dai' helped me pick them out. Unfortunately, the trees were unskinned, but I needed the skinned to mach my others. I was surprised when Dai' told me that MVN would skin them for free. That was a pleasant surprise. Now the planting experience. MVN has a crew of planters who come from the Congo, Africa. They have been out 3 times now. I doubt there is anyone that can outdo them. They are fast, strong and do beautiful work! Give them a raise! I really like these guys! Boy was I shocked by planting this time. I usually gripe about the $300.00 transportation fee. Well, I heard MVN roll up, so I went outside and to my amazement, there was a crane, a big rig and MVN truck waiting. This was no little crane. Kyle, who was El Hefe for the job introduced himself. He was professional and friendly in everything he did. I could drink a beer with this guy! I would enjoy the talk and learn a lot in the process. He explained that the crane was needed because the trees were just too large to be manhandled. Words cannot express the awe in watching the crane drop the tree at by back fence line. Have you ever seen a palm tree 50' in the air? Well, this time I got my moneys worth! I can't imagine what the crane cost to bring in. That really was free planting! So, in the end, my yard is gorgeous. The sales and planting experience was 10 stars out of a possible 5 stars. I will sit outside every night and enjoy the beauty provided by MVN. Thanks folks!

My wife and I recently moved to Arizona. We were told about Moon Valley by a neighbor. So went there to buy a cactus , and met Gabriel Zamora. He was very helpful and answered all our questions. So after a few months we wanted to plant a couple of trees and called Moon Valley. Gabriel came over to our house to see what we had and help us decide on what kind of trees we wanted. After that we went back to Moon Valley and he walked with us to hand pick the trees we wanted. They sent over Ben Sanchez and his helpers. I thought it would take all day to dig the holes to plant that big of tree. Ben and his crew had both planted in a few hours. My wife and I are very HAPPY with the trees . Thanks to Gabriel and Bens help making everything so easy. When we need anything else , we know who to call - Moon Valley Nurseries !

Another moon valley tree dies. I paid $1,500 for this loser. Moon valleys response, SUCKS TO BE ME. That's $2,500 worth of useless purchases from this company. They promised me they be in touch. Not a chance. They have my money. If you want no service after the sale, ( BTW, THEY PLANTED ALL THREE TREES) And they stood behind nothing. Avoid these crooks. *** UPDATE *** So I got a call today (11/15) in regard to my review from LP, their Director of Customer Relations for the state of Arizona. While he agrees that his team clearly misled me, he states that their contract with Wells Fargo Merchant services restricts them from ever issuing refunds or even partial refunds to their customers, regardless of the circumstances. He states that his hands are tied, because their contract with Wells Fargo wont even allow Moon Valley to issue a check to cover the interest I'm now forced to pay due to their misrepresentation of Wells Fargo's product. Fortunately he found a loophole. Wells Fargo is okay with him giving me a tree. It'll only cost me $865 in interest. I told him no thank you. So what's the moral of the story? When throwing your customer under the bus for your mistake doesn't work, have a "good cop" call to throw your bank under the bus. Also, Wells Fargo Merchant Services writes contracts that prohibit their business customers from ever issuing refunds or even partial refunds to their customers ....according to Moon Valley. --------------------- BE WARE!! Don't trust these guys! I went to Moon Valley after being referred to them by a friend who bought a number of trees from them at a different location. They told a very unnecessary lie REPEATEDLY that cost me over $800 interest charges. When buying a tree they offered me a 0% interest plan for 1 year of financing. Gabriel and the store manager told me about this wonderful trick where all I have to do is buy something from Moon Valley just prior to the offer expiring using my Moon Valley card in order to extend the offer for another year! He told me I could do this as many times as I'd like to keep rolling over the 0% interest rate. I could have and would have easily paid cash for the tree, but thought it was a convenient solution. So I took him up on his offer and purchased the tree using their card. I've been back a few times. Knowing that the offer was set to expired 9/13, I made it a point to buy something that I didn't need last August and September 10th to make sure I could continue the promotion. I also confirmed again with Daniel that I understood the offer correctly. Last night I looked at my account online and found that I was repeatedly lied to. Every single person I spoke to over the course of the year told me the exact same lie and confirmed it each time I checked to make sure I understood it correctly. $865.42 in interest charges suddenly appeared on my account in September . I was charged $865.42 on a $2,700 purchase that I could have paid off at any time! I called the shop today and got a call back from some guy (I think his name was Luis) claiming to be a regional manager who told me I should have read the fine print and practically accused me of lying. He was argumentative, talked over and was clearly trying to get a rise out of me so that he could hang up. Their card services are through Wells Fargo. He told me go talk to Wells about a refund and said the best he can do is offer me store credit. I asked him to put me in touch with his boss. He said he'd send the guy an email and maybe someone will get back to me in a week, but repeatedly told me that nothing can be done about it. I even told him the name of the most recent person who gave me wrong information. He wasn't interested. They are devoid of integrity and professionalism. I already had a budget saved for my backyard renovation and was happy to pay cash for the tree. I could have paid it off at anytime, including today. Financing was never needed. Now I have to fight with them and Wells Fargo trying to get $865.42 interest charges reversed so that I can pay off the initial balance and be done with this transaction. The insult to injury is that the tree died less than a year after they installed it. I'm making payments on a dead tree that they won't replace. I have no idea what to do next. Maybe the better business bureau?

The staff here at Moon Valley Nurseries is amazing. Immediately upon entering, I was greeted and asked if I needed help. Pretty much every few minutes, someone was asking if I could be assisted. Any question I had was answered promptly and knowledgeably and that was the case that I could see for anyone else who was walking around or talking with staff members. The aisles are clean, the plants are gorgeous, and the variety was unbeatable. I wasn't planning on buying anything right away but couldn't help but take home a beautiful Arabian Jasmine plant. My next trip back is for a handful of citrus trees.

Landscape installation crew was prompt and efficient. They installed two Mediterranean Palms by my pool. They did a professional job. I am impressed with the quality of the plants and they offer a warrantee if they don't survive. We normally go to Moon Valley Nursery in North Peoria but a blown commute rerouted me to Indian School Rd. So by chance I stopped in to this nursery. Andy the sales person couldn't have done a better job taking care of me. He took the time to ask me questions about my tree problem , confirmed that what I wanted was correct which was super palm juice. He wrote specific mixing directions on the bottle for me and gave me a great deal (wink wink Andy) on a second jug of super charged palm juice. I left there feeling it was worth the trip going to this location for all my needs going in the future. Thank you Andy. read more

After posting my experience, Moon valley attempted to reach out to me. After a few tries I accepted the cal. I thought it was going be another "do you want to buy tree insurance" call. It was a new office mgr and I explained everything to her. She apologized and wanted to make things right. she replaced the plants. Her service and work ethic is 5 stars. I cant give more than 3 stars for moon valley because the initial experience was so bad. read more

I am so thankful i came into Moon Valley Nurseries. I was out of town for a couple of weeks and when I came back I noticed my Ficus nitida hedge looked like it was burning and losing its leaves because of the heat! I freaked out and right away came to Moon Valley, when I came I was taken care of by Gabriel who right away cleared my concerns and provided me step by step what i needed to do to to take care of my plant and he assured me the plant was ok, it was just freaking out because of the excess heat. As new residents to the great State of Arizona we were in need of some plantscaping ideas and design assistance so on the recommendation of several of our neighbors we visited Moon Valley in Avondale and are highly pleased we did. Our first contact was Garrett who spent quite a bit of time with my wife and I talking pros and cons of different plants and planting locations, no charge, part of their service. Garrett was knowledgeable, insightful, respected our opinions, was very polite, and ultimately helped us make some great decisions. Another shout out should go to Charlie on the planting team, he showed up on time, was respectful of my property, planted the trees and bushes we purchased, gave us information on the care of our new treasures, and left my yard cleaner than when he showed up. All the guys on his crew were of the same caliber. We had a couple of our bushes die, apparently from transplant shock, so I called Moon Valley for help with replacement plants and there was absolutely no problem at all. The crew will be here when the weather cools down to replace the bushes that did not make it. Worked with LP today and I have to say he is a treasure. If you have a project or just need a quality planting I cannot recommend Moon Valley Nursery in Avondale enough. read more

We had just put in a pool and our backyard was desperately in need of plants. I had no idea how to go about purchasing the correct plants. I spoke with Brad Fey, Online Sales Manager, and explained that we were wanting a tropical look for our backyard. I sent Brad some pictures of my backyard so he could get a feeling of what my backyard looked like. I met Brad at my house to go over his recommendations and see if it met our expectations. Brad sent us a few renderings of our backyard with different plating designs. After a bit of discussion, we approved a design Brad created. Within a couple days we had a plant date for the plants we purchased. A few days before our plant date we received a confirmation email giving us a window when the planting crew would arrive. On the planting day I received a courtesy call from Pastor Recendiz, Planting Crew Manager from the Indian School location, telling us when he and his crew would arrive. Once they arrived, Pastor and his crew got right to work. Pastor's attention to detail was impressive. He recommended that a large pygmy palm be moved over a bit as not to impede with our removeable pool fence. Because of the slight adjustment with the pygmy palm, Pastor and his crew adjusted the planting of other plants to ensure the look of the design stayed intact. Pastor and his crew were very attentive to our wants and left our backyard area beautiful and clean. I was impressed by their professionalism. If you are looking for some plants to help with the look of your home, I'm sure Moon Valley Nurseries can help you. I'm guessing you will be impressed with the whole process as we are. read more

Just read an article by Gary Harper at 3TV Arizona's Family, about a company called "Trees For Needs" that dumped a bunch of mulch on a homeowners driveway.... and Moon Valley Nurseries offered to come out and clean up, for no charge. What a great thing for Moon Valley Nurseries to do. Thank you for doing something positive and cleaning up another irresponsible company's mess. Leaving a 5 star review for this. We have been coming to this Moon Valley location for years and have worked with so many employees and managers, some great and some not so great. We are in the process of our second full front and backyard makeover and let me tell you...if you ever get the opportunity to work with MJ, one of the managers here, you won't regret it. The level of integrity he has is second to none! The first time we met him I instantly felt how much he cared about the customer and the quality they were giving. I was so impressed at how open he was to feedback and what they could improve. His overall calm vibe kinda caught us by surprise and it was such a welcome relief, especially when this stuff is not cheap! MJ genuinely cares and kindness goes far in my book. I think feeling comfortable about what you're purchasing, while you're purchasing it, is just as important as the product itself and MJ really helped us feel at ease and worked with us at our own pace. He answered all our questions, always made himself available even when he wasn't at the nursery, and gave us knowledge and clarity about what we needed and why instead of a high pressure sales pitch. Customer service speaks volumes to us and as long as he is here we'll keep coming back. Thanks MJ, you are a dream to work with! read more

I wanted the best quality, largest trees. I didn't get them at Moon Valley Nursery. I was told by the phone salesman that I was getting 4-6 foot trees, a red grapefruit and a Mandarin orange tree. I was told that planting was free. They advised I needed a hole twice as large as the root ball, I needed the soil tested, fertilizer added and if my soil was "wrong" some additive. That would all be included in the planting. The salesman said my trees were already producing fruit. When the "contract" came by email the trees were $275.00 each and there was a $499.00 "get to the job" charge. I'm in Yuma, they're in Phoenix. Well, they are going to do it right and they're big trees so I paid the money, $1049.00 for 2 trees. They came to plant 6 weeks later. Dug a hole just large enough to get the root ball in, sprinkled some type of granular stuff in the hole, put the tree in, backfilled and watered. 15 minutes. The lead man couldn't speak English enough to understand after 5 attempts to figure which tree went where. The grapefruit tree is 45" at the tallest branch, the Orange tree is 38". 4-6 foot trees? Both trees came with "sale" tags on them for $199.00. The grapefruit has a 4" long new wound where a branch has been broken off. I called and talked to a salesman who explained how I misunderstood everything. He explained that the $199 price was for "cash and carry" not "delivery", even though I paid almost $500 for delivery. But, if I was unhappy he'd have a customer service rep call me. It's now almost 4 weeks and no call. I received an email from Customer Service asking how much I loved my new trees. I replied with the information above and pictures of the trees and broken branch. As of today I've not heard back from her either. I would never buy anything from this company. They have misrepresented their product and failed to make any effort to correct their faulty methods. read more

This is an unprofessional and dishonest business because:…read more - Sprayed weed killer when I specifically asked him not to - Did not complete the job with weed roots and debris still in my yard and when asked about it, he said that the chemicals would clear it in a couple of days and to call him if they were still there in 2 days - 2 days later when I texted him with pictures and he didn't respond - I'm glad I only paid him $125 of his $175 fee - Did not come on the first agreed upon date and had to reschedule Contacted Jorge on 2/24 to clear out weeds in my backyard that had overgrown and we agreed to Tuesday 3/3 afternoon for him to come. On 3/3, I reached out to him and he said he forgot to schedule me and had to reschedule me for 3/5. He quoted me $175 for: Weed removal Spray weed killer Blow out the debris Haul away everything I thought it was a lot but agreed to the price and told him that I didn't want chemicals sprayed. After he said he was done, I inspected and found weed roots still in the ground and debris everywhere. I asked him about it and he said the chemicals (that he wasn't supposed to spray) would kill everything and remove the debris. I was skeptical that the chemicals would magically clear away all the debris. He said to call him in 2 days if it didn't. I still had my doubts and asked for a $50 holdback in case the debris didn't go away. He countered with $25 and I knew then that if I called him, he simply wouldn't return my call. I stuck to the $50 and he agreed. 2 days later, the debris had not magically disappeared and I texted him with pictures to come back and finish the job, but he didn't respond as expected. Now, I have to clear the remaining weed roots and debris myself.

I wanted to thank Moon Valley Nursery of Avondale, Az for the outstanding job they did on our recent tree installations. Our experience started off with designer Marc walking us through the nursery, patiently answering all of our (MANY) questions about what type of trees/shrubs to install in our backyard. He spent HOURS with us in the heat of the middle of July. Never once did he seem irritated or upset with us even though I KNOW we are not the easiest people to work with. After several hours we finally made our decisions and sat down with Travis to work out the financial details. A few days later, Marc was at our house, all the way in Buckeye, and spent another hour or two with us mapping out where to put everything. Once again, with much patience and understanding. he shared his excellent design knowledge with us and helped us make great choices for where to put everything. Travis was EXCELLENT at answering all of our questions regarding payment and warranties. He worked with us, once again, with much patience and without irritation despite the "issues" we brought up about some misunderstanding we had about pricing. Ultimately he solved all of our problems and remedied every doubt and concern we had. Yesterday, August 11, our trees were installed by Ben and his crew. He was the BEST! He is so knowledgeable and, again, patient with us as we decided what side of the tree we wanted to see and where we wanted everything (we made some changes!). He was patient and kind with me when I had a bit of a meltdown over a misunderstanding I had about who was coming out to help install the trees and make sure everything was put in the right place. His crew was respectful of our property and very kind to us. They were quick and efficient and did an excellent job. Debbie and Marc were great too. They took my panicked calls as I had misunderstood who would be coming out and leading the installation. They actually rushed out to our property (both of them!) in Buckeye to personally oversee the entire installation. During those hot hours in the sun, they educated us further on how to take care of our plants and make sure we give them the best opportunity to thrive. They also helped us make some last minute changes to a couple of the plants and where we wanted them. Even though I was not the nicest person to work with, they were exceptionally kind and patient with me, and for that I am very thankful! They even gave us some tips about what else we could do in our yard to really finish it off nicely. Both my husband and I felt that everyone we worked with (Marc, Travis, Ben, Debbie) were honest and straight-forward with us. Though they may have been cursing us out in their heads (I would of, if I had to work with me!) they certainly didn't come across as upset or irritated and in my opinion, THAT is great customer service. We're all human, we have our moments, but they never once let those things bother them and interfere with the way they treated us. This morning I woke up with an incredible new backyard and I wanted to take the time to thank the staff at Moon Valley Nursery in Avondale, Az. You guys are awesome! Most recently, we purchased additional trees and plants from Moon Valley. Jonna was our customer service representative. We explained to her what we currently have in our yard and what we were looking for. Jonna carefully listened and led us to the perfect trees. It was refreshing to not have to repeat our wants and needs. She took time and gave us descriptions of the trees. Jonna took her time with us. We never felt pressured and in a hurry. She was very professional yet joyful the entire time. Upon checking out, she made sure the billing was correct and included sales discounts. Our trip to Moon Valley that day was short, simple and a pleasure ~ all because of Jonna! We happened to see Ryan Newton that day. Ryan was our very first salesman when we began our landscaping journey. Not knowing much about trees and plants that met water conservation requirements and ones that tolerated the Arizona heat, Ryan took as much time as needed to show us and explain the plant and tree descriptions. We're sure he probably does this 10x per day yet, he was very patient and took his time with us. We immediately felt at ease with Ryan. He's very knowledgeable about plants and trees and is an asset to Moon Valley Nurseries. A few days later, our trees and plants arrived! Benjamin and his crew worked hard that hot day. They dug small and large holes in our caliche ground using the pick most of the time. Benjamin and Manuel also took the time to explain the care of the trees. They were very patient and answered all our questions. Since Benjamin and his crew had planted trees on our property before (they also did a great job then!), they proudly pointed to the trees they each planted. They worked diligently for 2.5 hours in the heat of the day! Thank you Ben, Manuel and the rest of the crew! In speaking with Jonna that same day, we mentioned we had 2 trees that were not doing well and not growing. She told us about their tree care department. A few days later, Nick came and injected our trees with the nutrients they needed to grow and look better. Nick exuded with happiness and the love for his job. Very nice and refreshing to see! We also had a couple of trees that needed desperate pruning. We did not attempt to do this ourselves for fear that we would make things worse. Bryce S. from the tree care department gave us a call and later came to see our 2 trees. He and Esteban pruned and wrapped our trees and now they look beautiful! Bryce S. also took the time to advise us on how to care for our trees which we very much appreciated. Thank you Bryce S.! And, that was our landscaping journey to Moon Valley Nurseries that day! I love plants and this is one of my habit of doing something to keep me busy at home. flowers, trees, veggies especially when it comes of eating organic healthy food. My husband and I first time we check at Moon Valley near us just to check around sometime what they have new plant. and we did ask question what can help us to make our plants makes more better especially when the bugs season. One of the customer service the first time we came was very helpful I just did not remember his name, but he able to help us what to do and what kind of bugs blaster we will need without hurting our plants. And it really help us a lot, And we are happy that we able to harvest our food plants with no worry. Middle of January 2017 after getting off from work my daughter and I stop by to check if Moon Valley Nurseries if they have any veggies and I am surprise that I found few but not many because still cold weather, the eggplant, aroma tomatoes, red pepper. One of the customer service name Wesley Erwin have help me find what I am looking for. and also walks us around the area witch I could not believe how big the the moon valley nurseries...and he even let us have a few of the fruits to take it home for taste like the grapefruit and navel orange and boy that was so sweet! I ask when their are going to have more vegetables? and he answer " wait about in 3 months we will get more vegetables " This is March now and I did stop by again to check it out if there will be more vegetable came, like Wesley Erwin told me so. And sure they did, Wesley came up to me and able to recognize who I was, asking me that I am back to get more vegetables? I said yes! :). Then yesterday I call him if he in? because I wanted to get a box for my grapevine? and if is ok to use it? just in case we move to another house that I wanted to bring the plants trees with us without digging out of the ground. He answer " yes it is ok to use it for planting my grapevine ". My husband and I came to get the 2 box, my husband ask Wesley about if they also do the dig out trees? Wesley said that they have people can do that type of job too " My husband I were happy that Wesley able to help us, and able to answer our questions. I need to share what a wonderful experience I had at Moon Valley Nursery because of Eric Dutcher. I came in with a plan to re-landscape my backyard. Eric helped me substitute some of the plants that I had chosen for others that would work better in the Arizona climate. I have just recently moved to Arizona from San Francisco, CA. I spent $3,000. on plants....so it was a big job. Eric took me through the whole nursery and showed me different plants etc. He also made suggestions. Well, my plants have been planted (did I mention that he set it up so everything was delivered and planted) and they did a marvelous job....anyway my plants have been in the ground about 6 weeks now and I cannot tell you how lovely they are. All the plants Eric suggested are just thriving. He is very personable and easy to talk to. I only will go into the Nursery Friday through Wed because that is when he works. I won't buy a plant unless he helps me. His knowledge of plants in incomparable. I highly recommend Moon Valley Nursery...they have a large inventory of plants and trees, but if you need guidance (which we all do) Eric is your guy. He knew the name of every plant in the Nursery and everything about then...how much water, how much sun etc. I was just there a few days ago and was sharing that a few of my plants weren't looking too good...he told me to give them another 3 weeks because they sometimes take that long to adjust to new surroundings....but if they didn't get better he would replace them with something else. In closing, if you are looking for the personal touch...and an all around nice experience I suggest you go to Moon Valley Nursery in Avondale on Indian School Road and ask for Eric Dutcher.....YOU WON'T BE SORRY! read more

We just moved to Phoenix from the PNW. We heard from our old Pacific Northwest neighbors, who also moved down here, that Moon Valley Nursery was the place to go for our backyard needs. After visiting a couple other nurseries prior to visiting Moon Valley Nursery, I knew as soon as I drove up that this was the place. I was impressed how the nursery was laid out, fair pricing, clean and orderly. We were greeted by one of the nurserymen, Wesley. In our search for the right Native drought resistant trees and palm trees for our backyard, he was able to show us copious varieties, which made the decision difficult. Once trees were picked out, he then showed us palm trees I had not yet seen before. Upon checkout, Wesley scheduled our delivery, just two days later! The foreman driver, Adam, had his crew at our house a little earlier than what was scheduled. I thought that was pretty cool. Adam and his crew placed, planted, fertilized and watered exactly where our flags were placed. The next day, Ashleigh, Moon Valley Nursery customer service manager, called to confirm that everything went as planned and asked about our overall experience. She was very pleasant and fun to talk with. I have decades of experience with family business, customer service, and business on a government and corporate level. MVN made the entire process about as easy as one can. I would highly recommend anyone who is landscaping their front or backyards, to visit Moon Valley Nursery. Not sure about other customers experiences, but our experience was just as it should be, the total package. read more

We suffered some serious plant loss in our new home over the last year. I did some serious research on nurseries in the area and visited 3 of them in person to see what they had to offer & experience their customer service first hand. We finally settled on Moon Valley on Indian School Rd in Avondale. We spent a couple hours wandering around with Mark Iusi who helped us understand the plant characteristics we needed to avoid continued plant loss and suggesting various plants that met those characteristics. He was very helpful and patient!!! We were able to pick the plants we wanted and they were tagged. We included deliver & planting in our price and got an "extended warranty" (1 year vs standard 90 day) on several plants. We were given a "delivery day" to do list, so we would be well prepared. We ordered 10 plants. Delivery day came and the Moon Valley crew (5 or 6 people), headed by Adam Price, arrived within the timeframe range we were given. They got right to work prepping the soil, digging the holes, planting, watering & feeding. They finished in about 90 minutes, cleaned up and provided first week watering/feeding instructions along with long term care instructions/suggestions. We are now 4 days post planting and all is well. We got a follow up call from Mark, to make sure that all was well and we were satisfied. He assured us that Moon Valley was always available for any questions or issues that might arise. We definitely will return when we get ready for our spring time landscaping updates!! We cannot be happier with Moon Valley Nursery and their staff, especially Wesley from the Avondale location. He ALWAYS goes above and beyond to make sure the customer is pleased, leaves the nursery satisfied, and they are happy to return for more business. However, we have NEVER felt pressured into any sales, which we appreciate very much and it's one of the many reasons we keep returning. This is the second house in which we have worked with Moon Valley to complete our landscaping needs. As an active duty military member we were on a very tight budget with our first house in 2002, but they were able to work a deal that fit our wallet while still allowing us to achieve the look we wanted in our backyard. More than a decade later we are just as pleased with Moon Valley Nursery. In 2013 we purchased our current home. Within the last 3 years we purchased 14 big trees and multiple plants and so far we only experienced a few minor problems; however, everything was resolved quickly and to our complete satisfaction. We absolutely love Moon Valley Nurseries, their customer service is incredible and the quality of the plants is unbeatable, especially their Queen Palms, which are just beautiful, with juicy looking fronds and thick trunks. The prices at Moon Valley allowed us to get everything we wanted to give our backyard and pool the resort look we wanted. Normally I don't write service reviews although I am compelled to rave about the beginning to end service my wife and I received from Moon Valley Nurseries. My wife and I traveled to Mesa from Casa Grande for a design appointment with Brandon. He met us at the front entrance with a very welcoming smile. Brandon informed us of his qualifications to help us make a informed decision on plants we were interested in along with packaging everything neatly for our needs. Brandon promptly place Johanna and I on the Moon Valley calendar. Brandon was very professional with a plethora of knowledge. Brandon remained in touch via email right up to the day of delivery. The delivery crew arrive on time and the crew leader, Cesar, immediately made contact with me to explain exactly what was going to take place. He requested a site inspection and asked if I had any special request. Cesar kept me informed of everything they were doing and brought anything unforeseen to my attention for me to make the decision on how to proceed. Every plant we order was accounted for. Cesar's crew completed an amazing job planting and caring for my property. Cesar gave me an extensive tutorial on the care and watering suggestions for my purchase. He also informed me of additives which could help with the growth and long Gevity of the plant types we received. In closing, Moon Valley and their staff are above and beyond reproach. We've always been happy with Avondale Moon Valley for many reasons, the knowledgeable sales staff, the large selection of trees and shrubs, and the help and guidance whenever we've had questions about our landscape plants. Our recent experience serves as an excellent example of how well Moon Valley treats it's customers. About a year ago, we purchase two 24" box Ficus trees from Moon Valley. Over the year, they grew substantially and were absolutely beautiful trees. Then, after a little more than 11 months in, they appeared overly stressed and began dropping leaves. We brought the problem to the attention of Scotty and James (store mgr), and they reassured us that we were covered under the 1 year extended warranty that we purchased at the time bought the trees. A month later, the trees had lost all their leaves, one had died outright, and the other looked as if it would not recover. Moon Valley honored the extended warranty no questions asked. They allowed us to select the replacement trees, removed the dead / diseased trees, and planted new ones in place of the old ones. Our $1000 investment was protected by Moon Valley's extended warranty, and the integrity and honesty of the staff at the Avondale store. We normally don't buy extended warranties on things like appliances and automobiles, but we are so glad we bought the extended warranty on these two expensive trees. We have been looking for a tree for some time now for our front yard. We went over to Moon Valley Nursery on 11320 West Indian School Rd, Avondale, AZ. where we were greeted by Steven Lopez. Steven was very knowledgeable and courteous he took to the time to walk us around the nursey while explaining our options and which tree would possibly work better for us, but at the same time giving us the option to choose what we wanted and didn't try to sell us anything we didn't. He answered all of our questions and shared more information that we didn't know about when it came to our irrigation. He took his time in explaining things and didn't try to rush us in any way even though we got there at nearly closing time. Thank you Steven for all your help. Today our Ficus tree was delivered to our home. Prior to getting there I received a call from Pastor letting me know they were on their way. I asked if I needed to be there and he said no. His crew arrived shortly after. I watched through the camera on my front yard and I was very impressed with their work... They planted our new tree and and made the area look super nice. They left and I thought they did a fantastic job... Shortly after I received another call from Pastor asking me permission to come back to my house and check the work his crew had performed... WOW double WOW. Now that is what I call EXCEPTIONAL customer service. Great job guys!! I will definitely be back :) read more

If we could give more than 5 stars, we would! We cannot say enough about Moon Valley Nursery in Avondale. Today Emilio, Caesar and their crew of five others were here to do all the tree pruning/trimming of our many trees and removal of a very large tree that had become diseased. Every one of them were absolutely wonderful to work with and they were all so personable, professional, friendly, pleasant.....we can't say enough about them. They were gracious and very positive as well. Remarkable! I was so concerned that pruning would cause our "resort feel" property to look like a really short haircut, but when they were done it was absolutely beautiful! Pruned yes, but so professionally done and looked so natural. We are absolutely delighted and will continue to use Moon Valley going forward. Prior to today, we also had worked with Eric, the manager and Wesley, both of whom helped select a tree to replace the one that was removed, and to find a few other plantings and they were absolutely amazing. We will refer others to them whenever we have the opportunity to do so. You just can't go wrong with having them work on "your team" to get what you want done to make your landscape all that you want it to be. It was like working with best friends! Moon Valley Nurseries offer a large selection of healthy, beautiful plants. We've worked with both the Surprise and Indian School Rd locations. Both places were able to answer our questions and provide a quality product. We have other family members who have also made significant plant purchases from Moon Valley Nurseries. Our favored location is the Indian School Rd. Our most recent purchase involved having the plants delivered and planted. Dan and his crew were on time and did an excellent job planting and cleaning up the area before leaving. Wesley was our sales rep and he was both knowledgeable and attentive to our needs. He was able to make some adjustments so we could stay within our budget and still be extremely satisfied with our landscape design. I really appreciated the follow up customer service we received from the start all the way to the reminder emails and followup phone call from Steven Lopez who is the Customer Service Mgr. Steven made sure to review the watering requirements, as well as, answering any other questions or concerns. Honestly, my husband and I feel if you're new to the Phoenix area, have a limited knowledge of the planting climate, or want to update your current landscape, making a trip out to Moon Valley Nurseries is worth your time and money. read more

I have done business with Moon Valley Nurseries for years. I have continued my relationship with them because of their team of professionals. Leading the way is Mr. Wesley Erwin. Wesley is a solid consultant not "sales guy" that will help you with whatever you may need. In most cases, I came in looking for something I thought I wanted only to be educated about something better for my application by Wesley. He listens very well and provides honest, reliable and professional feedback. He is truly a consultantI. I professionally and highly recommend asking for Wes next time you are at the Avondale location. I have installed 4 treess this year and was very impressed with Adam's crew. Ronald is the lead on his crew and between these two gentlemen your project is guaranteed success and a feel good experience once your installation is complete. They were kind, smiling, honest and hard working. Thank you gentlemen for all your help! You are very good at what you do! And lastly due to a scheduling oversight, I had the pleasure of meeting Eric and Travis the management team at Avondale. Not only are you going to get quality plants and trees from Moon, you will get fantastic customer service. The employees are outstanding!! I have bought from Moon for the last 3 years since moving to Phoenix. The staff is very knowledgeable and have helped me out with a variety of different questions I've had. Our most recent purchase was by far the best in everything from shopping for our plants and trees to the planting. Eric helped us pick out our plants and trees. I cannot begin to tell you how impressed I was with the planting. Ben brought his crew in, which consisted of 3 guys. Let me start by letting you know it was 106° that day! They brought the plants in, let me decide where and how the trees and bushes were to be planted. In less than 30 minutes I had 2 pigmy palms, 2 red yuccas and 3 flower bushes planted and watered by his crew. During one of the palm plantings, the guy placed the palm in the hole and the other guy came over and adjusted it like 3 inches so the frawns faced differently. Talk about paying attention to detail!!! I have never been so impressed with a company!! The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and attentive to your needs. The work is meticulous!! My experience with Moon Valley Nurseries was top of the line from start to finish, from ordering to planting. Steven Lopez was an amazing help when it came to selecting the appropriate shade trees for my desert landscape and he made the ordering process super easy and convenient, even while I was out of town and away from a computer. Jonna Altheim provided great customer service in following up with me and keeping a line of communication open and ongoing, particularly given the fact that a couple of my trees were being held up at the state border due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Even though the delivery and planting was delayed for these particular trees, it was well worth it, because they went ahead and delivered trees at the next stage of maturity for the same price. The precision and alacrity of the delivery and planting crews were quite impressive. Everyone involved was amicable and professional. It's been almost two months now, and my trees are still looking strong even as the temperatures here climb to 110. The summer heat in Tonopah, AZ will be the ultimate test. Nevertheless, I could not be more pleased with the service and products Moon Valley has provided. I will look to them again for any and all of my future planting needs. read more

Mahalo Nui Loa to Zack of Moon Valley Nursery in Avondale and Tamar of Moon Valley on 7th Street, Delivery and Planting Team Leader. Zack was not only a friendly and knowledgeable sales rep, but he was mindful of my budget and never pushed me into feeling like I needed to spend more than my budget allowed. He was flexible with my indecisiveness and patient with my multitude of questions. Tamar and his team were prompt, courteous, provided me multiple updates to my property via text (even better!), and my fave quality; he ensured his team was extremely clean in picking up the debris from planting and keeping the inevitable muddy mess at a minimum. Additionally, Tamar was patient with my am "situation" that day, and even went so far as to return to my property when I forgot the tip I had for him in my pocket! I am the type to remain loyal to those i trust and who treat me with kindness. These two are certainly no exception! I must talk about Ben and his entire Team. Everyone is so nice and professional...greetings and handshakes all around. They've always done the very best work when they have installed trees and plants before. But this time...it seemed as if they were working toward complete perfection. We had already moved the furniture out of the way before they arrived, but there was no way to move any of the already-installed features, and they were able to plant without leaving even a mark on the existing plants. I would have to compare it to a French ballet. Ben probably wouldn't appreciate that description but sitting there watching masters work was wonderful. Everyone worked in unison and each person knew exactly what needed to be done. Ben helped me make the decisions that had kept me awake the night before and he had wonderful suggestions that he, himself, implemented which topped off the work. I'm afraid I took advantage of his experience and knowledge and asked as many questions of him as I could before they left. I'm sure that Moon Valley knows what a treasure they have in Ben and all the members of his crew, but I want to let Moon Valley know how this customer also feels about them. read more

Once again Moon Valley Nursery has exceeded my expectations. For some reason the numerous plants and shrubs I've purchased are having a hard time surviving. Monty and LP have been more than accommodating. LP has visited my vegetation more than once and had offered guidance with great patience. Monty has more than honored the warranty and guarantee set by the nursery. More than that he has gone above and beyond to support me on my landscaping venture by sharing his knowledge and guidance. Today I had Ben and his crew at the house to replace some trees and shrubs. They were professional and did an exceptional job leaving my place in better shape than when they arrived. A late afternoon trip to the nursery once again landed me in the great hands of Monty as he gimped his way through the nursery (with his injury) helping me pick out additional shrubs I needed. As always he was so gracious with his time and patient with my lack of knowledge and decisiveness. Through his pain he stayed until I was completely taken care of. I am so impressed with Debbie! She has been absolutely wonderful and phenomenal (!) in working with her. She totally takes care of the customer and makes sure that everything is as it should be. She has such a "can-do" attitude and has always been very responsive when I have had a question or need anything. I purchased a number of various palms and plants last year when it was hot. Several of them couldn't take it and either died or nearly died! When I contacted Debbie, she said to wait until it was cooler and she would take care of it. I waited, not knowing what the outcome would be because of the time passing. She did exactly as she said she would. In fact, I am so happy with her customer service and her willingness to help that I have upgraded the replacements. Gosh, she is so easy to work with and I am so glad that she was there when I was planning my backyard oasis! Being from the Pacific Northwest and not knowing anything about desert plants, she was so patient and directed me to the best possible outcome. repost - to proper Avondale Store Location - without it Mike and the planting guys don't get the small bonus they deserve. Adam Price's crew (Indian St.) did fantastic work at my job. They are THE BEST 'TREE WELL' constructors i have found at Moon Valley. Professional all the way. No food or mint wrappers left all over the yard. Not everyone wants gigantic overwieldy Wells, and these guys understood perfectly. You need properly sized and constructed wells especially if you have a bunch of trees to water before the irrigation goes in when it is 100+ degrees. Derrick helped me to arrange for he and Adam to come fix a bunch stuff from the prior jobs. If you are on site for example at Surprise, ask everyone you see the same question and see how many different answers you get. Then go home and look it up for yourself. It's the only way to come close to getting it right. Lots of information out there. Ask lots of questions. Figuring out how to water trees in the desert can be tricky when you have no experience. Again, ask everybody and you can maybe piece together what you need from them. Lots of extra details for fertilizing/pruning cuts/... read more
