We saw an ad online and needing some trees we drove out to Fillmore. We were helped by Jennifer Hernandez and she is awesome! Extremely knowledgable, she guided us to a better tree than we originally had in mind, based on our need, location and climate. She also took us around to show us examples of different trees and then the icing on the cake plus cherry on the top!!!, she worked out a deal that gave us a much better price than the ad with extras up the wazoo, free planting, staking, extended warranty, free bottles of moon juice per tree. We couldn't believe it, the price kept reducing and the extras kept coming. A great experience! Danny and his team showed up as scheduled. He walked the property and was very knowledgable about location and care of the trees. We purchased a total of 8 trees, and the Danny and his team had them in the ground in no time flat (the holes were VERY large that they needed to dig). We have used many nurseries here in SCV, however, none have been as helpful and knowledgable about trees as Moon Valley Nurseries. He gave us a fair price on some Palm Trees, delivery,etc. Helped us pick out what was best. He is very knowledgeable and was very honest with us. Bought a Japanese Privet on 11/3 to be delivered on 11/24. Called the day before Thanksgiving about 4:50PM and a guy told me he would check the board and call me back in exactly 37 seconds, which of course he never did. At 5:02p I called back and they were closed. So today, when they hadn't called by 9AM as their instructions say they would, I called them at 9:30AM. I spoke to the manager Emilio Gomez who said that their truck was broken down and they were arranging another vehicle. I gave him my cell number and he said he would call me back with the status. No call by 4:15PM so I called and spoke to Eduardo, who said he would check. Ten minutes later he called me back and said the deliveries had been canceled and the soonest they could deliver would be 12/10. The MANAGER did not have the common courtesty to do as he said he would do so we spent the day waiting for a delivery that was not going to happen. I've also been told that their prices are way out of line. I want my $1607.68 back. read more

Jorge Torres and his crew did a great job, very clean install and removed all boxes, trash etc and a final clean up. They were very accommodating to allow me to reposition plants to better fit the area during the install. Danny Lomeli and the crew did an amazing job! There were about five or six guys that made quick work of the digging and planting. They ran into a snag due to the fact we always heard of a swimming pool in the back yard but didn't know where it way. They found it and it just happened to be in the middle of where we wanted to put the tree. They adapted and overcame the obstacle. The whole time they crew was respectful and worked incredibly hard. In order to get the tree into our back yard Danny had to remove the side gate and when he did that he actually put it back on better than it was before. If we ever need anything else for our yard and I am sure we will we will be asking for Danny and his team to complete our work. Such great workers and great people. Thank you so much. read more

Danny and the crew were friendly and hard-working. Trees look great! I hope they look this good for years to come, only larger. My only gripe is that they don't haul away excess soil. After becoming aware of this, I asked the crew if they could wheelbarrow some loads of excess soil down to the lower level in the backyard. They said "no problem" and made about three trips. I used the dirt to prevent water run-off around two citrus trees. Readers should be aware that a "good" post equates with tips for the crew which is why I'm doing this. They deserve it. Otherwise I would not have reviewed Moon Nurseries because I'm not big on yelping. read more

We were very impressed with the hard-working crew led by Mauricio from Moon Valley of Fillmore who showed up to plant 33 new trees around our home. They even dug up large rocks in some areas to get the trees where we wanted them. We liked it that they gave the trees a good start with nutrient-rich soil and a liquid booster they call "Moon Juice." You can go directly to their large grow-yard in Fillmore and select the trees you want. Emilio and Miguel were great to work with in helping us select the right kind of trees for our climate zone. We were so happy with how the trees transformed the look of our home, that we went back the very next week and purchased 6 more. The cost of the trees included delivery and planting, which we thought was an overall good deal. read more

We have had the most awful experience with Moon Valley and would recommend you stay far away from this nursery at all costs. In short, we purchased a handful of citrus trees. The salesperson highly recommended we purchase (for an extra charge) both an extended warranty and moon juice and pay to have them plant the trees for us to ensure all goes well and have the trees get off to a strong start. Not long after being planted the trees lost all their leaves and in addition, one tree turned brown and died. We have called Moon Valley nearly a dozen times before our call was taken. We were told we had to speak to the mgr as he was the only one who could help us. Another dozen calls later and the mgr said we had to send him a photo of the trees which we did. Yet another dozen more calls and non returned messages later, we still have not heard from anyone. Yet one more call by me solicited a response that the mgr was to busy to take my call. So six months after we paid premiums and extended warranties for these trees, we have dead or dying trees and a completely non responsive nursery. I would never go to this company again. read more

My wife and I have been receiving ads from Moon Valley for years and thought we would visit the nursery to see what they had that would block the view of our neighbors RV. We were met by Jesus in the parking lot and he was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and offered to drive us around the yard to see what they had available. Once they arrived, I went inside for a few moments and almost each of the five crew had their holes dug out and ready for planting. All three trees were in the ground in just about an hour. We went to Moon Valley a few weeks ago and were met by a professional staff. They were very helpful walking us through their lot answering questions and showing us different options in trees. We finished up about an hour later with 5 trees purchased. They set up a time and date that worked best for us, and the installation crew showed up right on time. Prior to each tree being planted in the ground, the crew made sure we were happy with the location and which way the tree was facing. After 2 hours, the crew finished and they informed us of the watering schedules, and they left without leaving a mess. Last week, our neighbor also had trees being installed by Moon Valley, and I walked over with a couple questions. He was very helpful in answering my questions and gave some extra advice regarding when and what to prune. We definitely recommend this company. read more

We visited quite a few and were not impressed by what we were told or there selections. We went to the Ventura Home and Garden show and met John Shipp from Moon Valley's home office in Arizona. He spent a 1/2 hr. explaining what we needed to do and the types of plants that would work for a drought tolerant landscape. Next, we setup an appt. with Drew from the Fillmore location and he designed a layout from our plot plan, and took us through their yard picking out the plants and trees he recommended. 2 weeks later, Danny and his crew delivered and installed all the plants and trees in less than 3 hours, including watering and care instructions.
