I paid too much to have some yard work done, but the guy is really good at getting you to believe in him. Wanted us to be away during the day so he could do a big reveal at the end, which was dumb of us to agree to. He told us the workers were well trained, but they ripped up a lot of things that we'd been working years to establish in a difficult spot. He was so forcefully positive when I came home that I didn't have the nerve to tell him how sick I felt about the way things looked. Shrubs were cut without shaping so I had to fix that. A big swath of weeds was not pulled along the edge of the property, where it really needed it. I'd asked for quotes for various parts of the job. Later had someone quote me some work at more than 50% less than Agua Dulce. At the end of the day he insinuated I might want to tip him and acted like I was cheap not to. Never again. read more

Wonderful Landscaping! Excellent, professional job. Dealing with Brent was a pleasure. The grass was treated, then removed. A weed repellent mesh was laid down. Water saving plants were laid in, irrigation was placed, to water the plants. A rock brook, landscaping rocks, and gravel paths and curbways were placed. The plant selection is great. My yard looks beautiful. The water bill has improved and I now have a natural dessert/southwestern landscape look. read more

Brent and his crew designed and completed our front yard.The crew installed drip irrigation, sculpted with rock, and planted over seventy drought tolerant plants and several trees. My wife and I hired Agua Dulce Nursery based solely on work they performed at my son's. We gave Brent pretty much a free hand at designing and picking the plants and where to place them. He and his crew did a fantastic job. Several passing motorist and many more pedestrians have knocked on our door to compliment and inquire about who did our landscaping. I, like others, originally found Brent and Agua Dulce Nursery after driving by a home he and his crew did near my house in the San Fernando Valley. The work spoke for itself, very meticulously done with an eye for detail and an excellent esthetic. We called him to see if he could do the same thing to our "Plain Jane" grass filled front yard. From the moment he got there he took great care in listening to my wife's vision for some things she wanted to incorporate in the design. After literally sketching things in the front yard with spray paint Brent had come up with a rough plan to enhance my wife's ideas and incorporate some of his own vision into the design. While he wasn't the cheapest bid I felt like there was good value in how comprehensive he was being and decided to move forward. His crew began work about a week later with several full days of demo to remove the existing grass, plants, roots and whatever else needed to go. After coming home several times early over the next week or so from work each and every time either Brent was there with the guys or they were there on their own working hard and getting things done. I felt really good at that point in trusting Brent to see to it that everything was being handled in a thorough and professional manner. As you can imagine Brent is pretty busy since every house he does seems to lend him more clients and referrals but I never felt like he was juggling too many jobs that mine would fall off the radar and be left unattended for any period of time. He was very easy to work with and was quite agreeable to a milestone payment schedule which I usually prefer. The yard has it all now, boulders, flowers, drought tolerant and native Californian plants, drip irrigation, a very pretty rock swail, and even a pretty stone bench and vase as a center piece. I almost forgot he also replaced a small section of fence and put in new gates on the side of the house! We couldn't be happier with the finished product and Brent's attention to detail in delivering something truly special and pretty for all to see and enjoy. Perhaps one of the most impressive and pleasantly surprising things happened just recently after a bit of rain we had; Brent on his own without my wife or I calling stopped by one day while we were at work just to check on things and make sure everything was still in tip-top shape. He must have noticed a small section of our decomposed granite pathway that had gotten a little washed out with the rain and promptly patched it along with doing a few other minor things to make sure everything was looking as incredible as the day he turned it over to us. I am happy to be writing this review and feel great telling my friends about his work since I have no doubts if you choose to go with him and his crew you will get a very good outcome and won't regret anything along the way. If I could give Brett and his staff a higher rating, I would! I engaged them to re-landscape my back yard while I was out of the country. I met with Brett and he took the time to understand my needs and aesthetic desires; he had some excellent suggestions. I then left the country right after Christmas and returned in mid-January. Most of the work was completed while I was away and I'm very pleased with the way it all turned out. Over the years I've had my share of people doing work in my home but here's what I found in Brett: he's impeccably honest, thoughtful, knowledgeable about his work, treats his staff with dignity and respect and follows through to ensure the project is done meticulously. His staff are hard working professionals who follow Brett's example. In life it's often the little things that make a difference; here's an example of Brett's work ethic. I had Brett replace about 6 ratty palms with 3 new types of trees that I had identified. When I returned, the trees were planted but they were more of a tree than a bush/tree that I wanted. Well, off to the side of the yard I noticed there were 3 bush/trees that were the "image" of what I had. After being home a couple of days, I connected with Brett and we discussed the project and then asked him why we had 3 extra trees sitting off to the side. He said they were there in case I didn't like the ones planted. Here's a second example. I have turf in my back yard and it looks extremely nice and manicured. The project with Brett required new plants, lighting, trees and stone being hauled to different parts of the yard. When I returned home, there was not a single foot or wheel barrel mark on my turf....even my neighbor commented on Brett's workers! I would engage Brett and his staff again in a heartbeat! read more
