Just found out about this place that is hidden here in La Verne, they have the most beautiful citrus and fruit trees. I was able to find everything for my backyard orchard here at the La Verne Moon Valley. Talk about a citrus and fruit paradise this place had everything on my list- Mango, Apple, Avocado, Apricot, Nectarine, Plum, Pomegranate, Pear, Pecan, Meyer Lemon, Pink Lemon, Bears Lime, Mexican Key Lime, Australian Finger Lime, Navel Orange, Valencia Orange, Satsuma Mandarin, Dancy Mandarin, Tango Mandarin, Clementine Cutie and of course Grapefruit. I even got seedless grapes for my trellis area in the front of house. Now for the shade and flowering trees; what a selection and they are all so impressive and big. I decided to actually enjoy my backyard and went with the "Full Moon Package" because I was ready for mature nice trees that were going to instantly provide the look that me and my Wife were after. They have the biggest selection here at La Verne, my designer told me its about 22 Acres and its ridiculously nice. I was able to browse all sorts of trees and in a variety of sizes. My designer was super helpful and showed me everything that I could possibly imagine. That was the best part, the designer was super cool and laid back, was extremely helpful and didn't make me feel pressured. This was an awesome experience and I would definitely recommend this business to anyone who is doing their yard, whether you need shrubs, fruit or shade trees or ground cover these people are "top notch". I will be doing all my landscaping with Moon Valley in the future. Trust but verify, go check this place out for yourself; you will not be disappointed and your yard will be the envy of the block. Bad experience from their manager Sean literally screamed at me saying I'm being annoying when i tried to let him know about my issues with spider mite infestation on their trees he didn't want to take ownership of it or remedy the issue in any way he even said you should have bought insurance! The good words said by others are bait to get you to go and when you're there they get you with super high prices and also they even offer financing here. A place only offers finance when they know you wont be able to pay for it upfront due to their super high costs. Also the trees i paid an outrageous price for all came infested with spider mites and took me months to get rid of them. They don't care for you after you've given them your money and the only way there willing to help you after the sale is if you paid for there outrageously high "tree insurance" which i didn't do because i was already paying $1250 per Italian cypress tree. Pictures attached so you can see im not making this up and also so you can see how unreasonably expensive they are. I paid $36,000 for what you see in these photos and of course if i would have known the poor quality sickly looking trees infested with mites i was getting i would never have paid. I figured since they were a big company with multiple locations they would be good to go but i was way wrong! Please don your research and read the positive reviews with a grain of salt because they are most likely from the staff themselves or there family and friends to get you to fall in there trap as if they are honest and caring company. We went out one day to Look for an Olive tree Moon Valley in La Vern they had more trees than I could count. Anthony was my sales rep and he was amazing even came to my house and investment property to make sure the job could be done. I bought a beautiful mature olive tree for a very reasonable price. Olive trees are not inexpensive but out of the nurseries I visited they had the best selection and price. I also got few privacy trees and an Australian Willow . When it came to planting day they made a mistake went to my investment home but they didn't leave or charge me extra to come to my property and they were able to plant on the day of delivery. They came to my house and planted every tree I purchased. The Crew consisted of Jessie , "Jose"ask for Jose to plant your trees or plants!!! Very friendly and accommodating! "Omar and Josue . They all worked hard and fast! Very professional . Jose even moved. Couple of little plants that were in the way , at no extra charge I highly recommend Moon Valley in La Vern . I live in Whittier so there are closer Moon Valley nurseries however, the selection at this location was amazing . And they deliver , plant and guarantee there work. You can't go wrong. Everyone at this location is great! Bryn was so delightful and showed us around when we returned to tag the trees we wanted . Leanne the manager, told us about free finance ! We have a slope in rear yard, which gets all of the morning sun! We began the search for just the right plants, drought resistant and able to survive sun and heat. Rick Wright came out and shared ideas, suggestions and plans to plant flowers, bushes, and plants which would grow successfully on the slope. We want to thank Rick and the crew who completed the planting. The first crew included Jon(foreman), Danelo, Jose, and William. They arrived, placed flowers according to design, and very professionally completed the planting(it was 94 degrees that day). We think because of heat reasons a few flowers did not survive. We made a call to Christiana (scheduling liason), who rescheduled a crew to replace the injured plants. The second crew included Deybet/foreman(patient & knowledgeable), Rafael, William and Oscar. These guys knew exactly what to do, and efficiently planted replacement flowers. The slope looks good, with expectations it will look beautiful as the plants fill in and grow. And so, we are applauding Rick, Christiana, and both Planting Crews for their work and contribution to the backyard slope. We appreciate the care instructions, the "Moon Juice", clean jobsite, and the work involved in our plant installation. This was my first time purchasing mature hedges to create a privacy wall. While I was excited about the project, I was also concerned about planting them during the heat of late July and then having to leave town for a conference shortly afterward. I had 2 trees planted by Moon Nurseries in my front yard. Ray from LaVerne helped me pick them out and continued interacting and checking up on the health of my trees through the planting ,and shock period that the trees went through until they started to grow and flourish. he brought me "Moon juice " that nourished them through it all. My trees look beautiful, full and green. He was great . Then Ramon Morales , a specialist took over to ensure I was happy and my trees looked good and continues to inspect my trees making sure they are healthy and growing properly. He came again last week and noticed something I hadn't. He saw the strong wind we had , had made my trees lean slightly and he saw that the stakes were broken at the dirt line. He showed me how they needed to be restated so they would grow completely straight . I never would have seen that and the stakes being broken was not something I would have noticed exce for Ramon showing it to me. So Ramon came back the next week and restaked them and now they are growing straight again. The time and care that Ramon gives to my trees is so amazing and appreciated. I can't thank him enough. I lost my magnificent 100+ year old Coast Live Oak in a big windstorm in January, and turned to Moon Valley Nurseries as a place that was recommended to me to find larger speciman trees to help rebuild my beautiful backyard sanctuary. I reached out to Christiana Frisby who turned out to be a knowledgeable and extremely helpful resource for me. She helped me select large live oak, sycamore, western red bud and arbutus marina specimens which were promptly delivered and planted by Fernando and his outstanding crew. It was a big job, but they handled it all with extraordinary care and attention to proper placement and planting, building the proper high berms for watering and using plenty of Moon Juice to give them the best start. I was also provided detailed watering instructions, critically important in the hotter and less predictable weather patterns we are experiencing. Less than one month later, all are thriving, establishing well and showing healthy new growth. Large specimen trees are an investment so you want to chose a reputable source with a good selection who stands by their product. Just an unbelievable experience! Sal was our tour guide and salesman through the whole experience. Being a business owner myself and a local one at that, I was impressed at his presentation and attention to detail for our project. When he took us on a tour of the yard what struck us immediately was the attention to detail in their own yard. If they take pride in their yard, I would think they would take pride in ours. Sal took the time to educate us on care and size and was patient when my wife was just wandering and admiring all the trees. He was a pleasure to deal with and was patient. So we purchased our Magnolia tree (Melania) is what we call her, and the date was set for installation. Well 1 week later I get a call and they have an opening 2 weeks sooner, we were ecstatic and said yes. The installation crew was right on time within the window provided and Joel,our lead man was fantastic. His crew worked in 101 degree temps and completed this project in 2.5 hours. Our yard was left just as clean as they found it and they hauled all the dirt and rock away. What I have to say is the value we received for what we paid was an exact match. Was it cheap? Moon Valley has the most helpful and knowledgeable staff that I have ever encountered. These folks are some of the nicest people you could ever meet, and have an incredible amount of tree and plant knowledge. I was pleasantly surprised when I went into the store by the beautiful trees and plants and the place looks amazing. One of the nicest layouts I have ever seen at a tree and plant Nursery. My designer helped me pick out which trees for which spot, they let me choose the size and didn't pressure me at all to pick any specific size. They were totally laid back, friendly and helpful staff from the nursery specialist to the planting crew it was phenomenal. They planted everything for free and under warranty, I don't see how anyone couldn't love this place. Come check this place out for yourself and don't fall victim to the "fake news" that have popped up for this place. Moon Valley Nurseries is an excellent nursery, as well as being excellent planters. After moving to Pasadena, I had met with Anthony the lead designer of this location. He recommended an excellent assortment of trees and plants for the property's many tricky locations. I have recommended him to numerous friends and associates and he as always exceeded expectations and the company overall has provided superb service. I called his business line on Monday and we met that same Wednesday. I purchased a few fruit trees for my backyard slope, 3 massive shade trees (chosen on his recommendation, and placed by him as he visits homes for design consultation) and many drought-friendly plants. We were given a call the day before (it went to voicemail, as I was on a business call,with a time frame attached and we called back and spoke to their logistics manager Christiana who confirmed delivery). The day of planting the foreman Fernando arrived on time and they were able to finish the job in about 6 hours. I highly recommend giving them a call and ask for Anthony no matter what. read more
