I am so happy I came here instead of my local Home Depot store! I was in the mood to redecorate my backyard and wanted to add a succulent to an outdoor table. Please note: Be patient with Francis! Her English is limited. Be resourceful. Pull up Google Translate on your phone to help yourself. I'm Spanish-speaking so it was easy for me, but I can imagine some of y'all Yelp folks getting irritated. Anyway, one thing I did notice was that this place is outdoors! Like a nursery you'd go to. The aisles are narrow, so just be mindful of your body and don't knock down any plants. Lol. Francis greeted me with a warm smile and demeanor. She was so sweet!! I almost wanted to give her a hug lol. I explained to her that I had a budget and wanted succulents. She quickly got to work on it. She asked me to pick from several plants but didn't overwhelm me. Francis's Cactus Succulents is my go-to shop for succulents in the LA area! While the outdoor shop is rather small, Francis has a great variety of succulents and the prices are unbeatable! Parking can be a little challenging, as the shop does not have any spaces of their own. Parking is available on the side streets to the left and right of the shop. The shop is very small making it easy to miss if you're driving by, but it's easy to spot once you park and walk down the sidewalk. I've purchased a large saguaro cactus here for only $80. The shop is cash only. There is an ATM at the convenience store (a 2 minute walk) located on the left when facing the shop. If you don't find what you're looking for on your first trip, be sure to check back - she is always getting new plants in. read more

I read from another Yelper that the owner will fill any container you bring, so I brought her my little dead terrarium and she changed the soil and filled it with 4 of my mini choices for $5. Her other designs were adorable and cheap too so I ended up buying another terrarium ($30) and 3 adorable hand-painted mini pots with succulents ($3 each). Every time i go to Costco, I drive by this place and I always tell myself...Edgar you gotta check that place out, lol well I eventually did! My aunt went with me since the both of us were tired of being cooped up thanks to this pandemic we are currently in. We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon it was a little warm but not too bad. We were greeted by Francis and her and my aunt immediately hit it off and began talking about plants and home remedies while i looked around. After 15 or so of browsing i made my selections and bought a Zebra plant, it was a different plant one that i haven't seen at the larger nurseries so i got it. You can see it in my picture of the little house to the right. Since I had a few plants already I decided to buy some more so i added this to my collection. The place is small and majority of their plants are succulents but they have a few other varieties as well. Francis painted all the pots and made all of the arrangements you will see. She can even custom make one for you at a very reasonable price. If you are looking for a gift idea or perhaps want to buy yourself a succulent or a plant, stop by and check this small gem out. My favorite little nursery and iv only been here once. I found a succulent I have been desperately trying to track down (have even been searching online). My boyfriend and I spotted it immediately and knew right away that it was happy and healthy! As we were browsing we noticed a very healthy monstera that we snatched up as quickly as possible. The Yelp hours were updated a couple months ago. It says open 9 to 5 on Sunday, etc. I called after 9:30 and I got their answering machine. We got there around 10:30 this morning. It's a very small lot with a power line structure in the middle of it. Some succulents and cactus in pots, with a wooden hand painted sign with their street number. There's a gate that goes to another address, but there's a couple of no trespassing signs posted. I called the phone number again, but got their answering machine. After the English message, the rest was in Spanish. Then if hung up.. couldn't leave a message. Of course we were disappointed that it was closed, but not coming back due to the small size of the place. read more

Went in for a few different types of succulents and cacti for our balcony planters and came away with a beautiful array of botanical bounty for very little cost.
