I bought two palm trees from Mason at Moon Valley. I went back three times to make sure I loved my choice. Mason was super kind and patient and even came out to my home to make sure I had chosen correctly for my spots. He was amazing to work with. When Roger and his crew showed up, they worked like a fine oiled machine. When they started digging the holes, they ran into pipe. They had extra pipe and fittings along and set to work re-routing the pipe. These six gentlemen work in unison digging, measuring, fitting pipe, hauling out dirt and planting the trees. Then came the fertilizer and backfilling. When they left, the trees were planted, fed, watered, and the surrounding area was immaculate. Great place if you are looking for a high pressure sales environment. These guys are the rudest, sleazy car salesmen I've ever come across. As soon as I said I wanted to think about it the salesman treated me like shit and made it super awkward (1st salesman didn't even return my call). Def not EVER giving them a $1 of business- I will not be pressured and rewarding that terrible behavior. And they are also a rip off! Upon shopping for red geraniums today and noticing how busy the staff was; I asked her a brief question trying not to interupt her customer service with someone else. Kimberly was quick and professional to answer and not miss a beat with service to her existing customer. After loading up my rolling cart I waited for an available staff member and once again came across Kimberly who helped me check out after the customer before me. She then helped me to the potting soil bags and then to my vehicle. Last weekend ( Dec 3 and 4 ) was time to go and get the Family 2023 Xmas Tree. We loaded up 3 vehicles ( grandkids like to come as well ) and off we went. We first went to a lot whose name I won't say but had some wonderful trees with prices costing about the same as our house monthly mortgage payment. After I recovered from the sticker shock we headed out to Moon Valley Nurseries. This was a good move. Skky greeted us as we unloaded the kids. He took the time to listen to what we were there for and then pointed us in the right direction, told us what colour ribbon tags were the size we wanted and to find him if we had any more questions or when we were ready to make a purchase. We browsed around until we found The Tree that everyone agreed upon and then I went and found Skky to assist with the purchase. He showed me where to pay and took The Tree to fresh cut the base and trim the lower branches so it would fit our stand with no issues. The price being charged was very fair and about what I had expected. He then carried it out to my truck and loaded it in the back so we were all set to head home. He made the whole experience enjoyable, was knowledgeable about his trees, smiled and appeared to be enjoying himself while he was at work. He was a pleasure to work with and we all enjoyed our visit and will be back next year!! I love this place! I shop here year-round. They are extremely helpful and go out of their way to answer questions and explain which plants will (and won't!) work in your yard and why. They'll even come out and check out your yard first and you can just buy the plants or they'll put them in for you. Christmas trees! Delivery was scheduled and on the day George and his crew showed up on time and ready to plant my new trees. Moon Valley had planted a $1,000.00+ oak tree in my yard. Two years later, the tree died. When I'd dug up the tree to replace, I'd noticed that the box wood container was left on the rootball. Three experts have told me that leaving the container on the rootball would strangle the tree's root system. MV said that it was good to leave the wood container on the rootball. I'd received a 60% off coupon from Moon Valley. So, I'd picked an oak tree to replace my dead oak tree with the wood container that was left on. The tree that I'd selected had a price tag that read "was 799, now 399." The manager lady who helped me select the new oak tree handed me off to another salesman at the front desk (like a used car lot). He told me that I'd get 60% off of the $799, not $399. But, the tree's "now" price is $399 and I should receive 60% off on the $399 now price. I'd gotten out of there as fast as I could, never, ever to return. I then went to Home Depot and bought a nicer oak tree for $79. MV is so bad. read more

Matt and his crew just planted a large Yucca in front of our house. They were timely and professional. They hauled away all of the dirt they removed and left the area looking as if the tree had been in the front yard for years. Nate was like a surgeon with the heavy equipment and was able to place the tree in a confined area without disturbing any other foliage. These guys were all great. We as a family went to Moon Valley and were looking to buy some plants & trees but were not 100% sure, we walked into Moon Valley & were looking around for few minutes & we saw Clay Simms walking towards us, greeting us & took us around and asked what we want & ensured that we get the best one. He also showed us some beautiful pots and offered to decorate it with flowers & send it to us. I wanted to echo Kimmy Hughey who did decorate both the pots and it was extremely beautiful & hats off to her creativity. Several months back, I decided to redo my tiny backyard and wanted a lemon tree. I was lucky enough to get Pat Walsh as my guide. He explained so much and was clearly well-versed in his field. He also showed me some gorgeous Honey Suckle bushes. I ended up with one lemon tree and 5 honey suckle bushes. Pat sent them to my home and they planted everything for me. They did a great job and left the job site clean and pretty. Along the way, my lemon tree started having some issues. I reached out to Pat. He had me take pics and quickly diagnosed the problem. I did what he told me to do and Miss Lemon tree bounced right back. This week, two of my Honey Suckle just croaked. I called out there but no Pat, so John helped me. Again, take pics and text them over. He told me I needed some vitamins and to come on out. When I got there, after all this time, Pat came right up, knew my name, looked at my pics. He was immediately going to replace both of them for me, but we decided to give the vitamins a try. If they don't work, he will get me two new bushes. The service here is just top notch. I was in need of finding replacement plants and visited Moon Valley Nurseries on 7th Street in Phoenix on September12, 2023. I was fortunate to be helped by Design Specialist Edgar Trujillo, who went out of his way to meet my needs. Mr. Trujillo even came to my house to remove the dead plants in advance of replacements scheduled for Sept. 14, 2023. He didn't have to do this, as this is not normally one of his duties. He did it to expedite the process, as they are extremely busy due to recent Monsoons which caused uprooting of plants and trees in the area. I've been getting our Christmas trees at this location for years. We got a late start getting it this year due to adopting 2 rescue dogs. Went in looking for a smaller one to put on a table and away from the pups. Ben was really nice and mentioned the smallest available would be 5 ft. I looked around and I must tell you the trees on the lot were really beautiful! Super fresh, each tree in water and perfectly shaped. The guys working there were so nice. We had them put in three tipu trees a couple years ago. Got one left. The big one in the front blew over for the third time last night. It has virtually no roots after two years. Last time they were out to stand it back up and re-stake it, we paid them $500 to inject food into the soil. It's been pruned to shorten it and open it up to be less of a sail but with the tiny round root ball there is nothing to hold it in the soil. I give up. Last time it took 5 days and as many messages left for them before they even called me back. They are always nice when they come out, but this tree should have had its roots trimmed or something before it was planted. We're going to cut it up and replace it with a different tree. But not from Moon Valley. read more

Man, so glad we went here and asked for help! Being from Eastern Oregon, we just didn't know how to care for desert plants and bought a house with beautiful landscaping. As summer started everything looked like it was dying and everyone I asked and everything I googled said we were watering too much. Turned off water and they were dying faster!
