Each of the 3 times I went to Moon Valley to add to or change my plant selections, Richard was very informative and patient with me. The day before the scheduled plant installation, Kaelen contacted me both by phone message and by email to confirm the timeframe that the installer team would be at my home. On the day of installation, Matt, the foreman, texted me to let me know they were on their way. The 5-man planting team that came was very organized. They clearly were very experienced landscape installers. Matt instructed me in the watering and care of our new plants. Went to them and bought 3 ficus trees and, later, a Christmas tree. All were incredibly expensive, but considering the perceived quality, I thought worth it. Fast forward a couple years. Two trees are doing great. The largest of the three, in our front yard, was leaning at about a 30 degree angle. Called Moon Valley and they said send a photo. Did that. Got a call that straightening the tree would be $950 AND told I had to pay the full amount in advance. No way that's happening. Was told the man on the phone would ask "the boss" about the pay in advance thing and call me back. You guessed it. Never called back. I wouldn't do business with these (in my opinion) crooks if they were the only nursery in town. read more

I was super lucky when I went to Moon Nursery on Tatum and Bell Road. I was greeted by Patrick McCoy. He is a great great guy!!! Besides being really nice, he's also very knowledgeable when it comes to plants and trees. We bought 8 trees from him and we are very pleased! We visited Moon Nursery about a month ago while landscaping our backyard, we were talked into a home consultation that comes with a few of $200.00. The consultant arrived and walked around the yard with us and threw out several different plant names for different areas of the yard and scribbled some notes in a pad. After not hearing from him in the timeframe that he promised to have a plan laid out, we called to find out when we could come look at the designs / computer mock up, but to our surprise all we got was a copy of the notes he took during the walk through our backyard. That's when they disclosed that your $200.00 was not refundable, and you needed to spend a minimum of $3000 to recoup your consultation fee. Up until today, I would have given 5 stars. Today, I'm frustrated. We had 2 trees planted in February. Planting crew did a great job. Both trees have the year warranty and I bought the maintenance agreement so I could get help if needed. The "giant" ficus was staked; the "huge" peach tree was not. When I asked about staking it, I was told it wasn't necessary but if it needed it at any time, I could get it done. Well, 2 months have gone by. The tree is beautiful and full of fruit. And it's no longer standing up straight; it's leaning - a lot. So I called- sure they can stake it, in 4 weeks! after all - "they really busy" and it can always be replaced... read more

We bought 3 young citrus trees from here and while our check out process was quick and easy and well explained to us, come to delivery day and we find out that our order was never placed for delivery so the delivery team never knew. That was frustrating but they were very helpful to get a delivery rescheduled and squeezed us in the next week. On the bright side they did give us a few boxes of moon juice on the house after that hurdle. Come planting day, the team was quick, efficient, and communicative. Downside here was I discussed staking with the head delivery man and he said it's not necessary for trees so young but they can be staked for a fee. At the time I didn't think it necessary but heavy winds came days later and lo and behold I thought one of our trees would fly away. HOWEVER, Savannah Palmer at the Arcadia Moon Valley Nursery went above and beyond and reached out to us every step of the way and checked in afterwards with us and even assigned a team to stake our trees as we found out we paid for originally. All in all, for every hurdle we've ran into, Moon Valley Nursery and Savannah have provided a solution we could be satisfied with and plan to be repeat customers. read more

We decided to visit a few months back, and sadly came away empty handed...pretty sure we would not be returning or recommending Moon Valley to any of our friends. We were treated poorly to say the least, and with considerable condescension by a lead person on duty. That might have been the end of any business relationship between the Parsons and Moon Valley. But oddly enough, we ran into Tony Giancalone and he persuaded us to try a return visit. He was very knowledgable, and helped us select a lovely Yucca Rostrata (Huge). We were excited for Tony's expert help, and so look forward to enjoying this addition to our property. Had it not been for Tony's encouragement, we would NOT have returned to Moon Valley to make this lovely investment purchase. read more

Stay away from Moon Valley's trees! I've purchased several trees from Moon Valley and other nurseries and consistently Moon Valley's trees are the only ones to have major issues. Moon Valley's employees act friendly and come off as potentially knowledgeable but as soon as they arrive on-site with the delivery, any kind of trust goes out the window. They might have seemed knowledgeable but if you ask any arborist or learn more than the most basic of knowledge regarding trees, their practices will cause you to waste your time and money. All of the trees they planted had issues regarding root flare height, girdled roots, or other critical problems that won't be evident until a year or two after planting. To no surprise, their warranties end around this time. Moon Valley's prices are often just slightly below other competitor's prices but never go with the lowest bid; purchasing from Moon Valley will result in wasted time, sweat, and money regardless of any marginal price tag savings. read more

They delivered them & carefully navigated our rather narrow steppingstones to put them in place without damaging a thing. I bought two palm trees from Mason at Moon Valley. I went back three times to make sure I loved my choice. Mason was super kind and patient and even came out to my home to make sure I had chosen correctly for my spots. He was amazing to work with. When Roger and his crew showed up, they worked like a fine oiled machine. When they started digging the holes, they ran into pipe. They had extra pipe and fittings along and set to work re-routing the pipe. These six gentlemen work in unison digging, measuring, fitting pipe, hauling out dirt and planting the trees. Then came the fertilizer and backfilling. When they left, the trees were planted, fed, watered, and the surrounding area was immaculate. I cannot express how impressed I am with this whole experience. From Mason in sales to Roger and crew, I am overjoyed with this whole experience. Awesome job guys!!! read more

Great place if you are looking for a high pressure sales environment. These guys are the rudest, sleazy car salesmen I've ever come across. As soon as I said I wanted to think about it the salesman treated me like shit and made it super awkward (1st salesman didn't even return my call). Def not EVER giving them a $1 of business- I will not be pressured and rewarding that terrible behavior. And they are also a rip off! Just a word to review the MVP tree care program. When they say they will replace the tree for any reason if you are dissatisfied they mean it. We had four fruit trees planted, and didn't like the fruit from two of them. They were replaced with different varieties without any fuss or muss. They always do a great job planting, and the follow up visits are always informative. Sheldon does a great job evaluating each tree's health, fertilizing and trimming them, and I always learn more about taking care of my trees properly. read more

Customer service..Beware. I've purchased many trees from Moon Valley over the years. Times have changed clearly and my experience over time has soured me on Moon Valley. They are eager to sell but then the experience breaks down. My experience, most recently, was in purchasing over $6500 worth of shrubs and a tree. I guess that's a small order not worthy of returning calls, texts, or emails. Poor communication with 811, all voice mail inboxes at Moon Valley full, and they just didn't show with no notice for our scheduled planting. I took time to be there from my schedule, but they didn't show to plant or provide notice. Currently trying after over 5 phone calls, 2 emails, and a text to get reimbursed for the labor on what wasn't planted. Consider my experience in making your own decisions. read more

I went to Moon Valley for the large selection of trees. Prices were reasonable and Chelsea was very helpful with my selection. She explained procedures and prep of my lawn. Delivery was scheduled and on the day George and his crew showed up on time and ready to plant my new trees. He and his crew worked to get holes dug and get trees in place quickly and left the yard clean without any evidence of being there. I love this place! I shop here year-round. They are extremely helpful and go out of their way to answer questions and explain which plants will (and won't!) work in your yard and why. They'll even come out and check out your yard first and you can just buy the plants or they'll put them in for you. Christmas trees! Last weekend ( Dec 3 and 4 ) was time to go and get the Family 2023 Xmas Tree. We loaded up 3 vehicles ( grandkids like to come as well ) and off we went. We first went to a lot whose name I won't say but had some wonderful trees with prices costing about the same as our house monthly mortgage payment. After I recovered from the sticker shock we headed out to Moon Valley Nurseries. This was a good move. Skky greeted us as we unloaded the kids. He took the time to listen to what we were there for and then pointed us in the right direction, told us what colour ribbon tags were the size we wanted and to find him if we had any more questions or when we were ready to make a purchase. We browsed around until we found The Tree that everyone agreed upon and then I went and found Skky to assist with the purchase. He showed me where to pay and took The Tree to fresh cut the base and trim the lower branches so it would fit our stand with no issues. The price being charged was very fair and about what I had expected. He then carried it out to my truck and loaded it in the back so we were all set to head home. He made the whole experience enjoyable, was knowledgeable about his trees, smiled and appeared to be enjoying himself while he was at work. He was a pleasure to work with and we all enjoyed our visit and will be back next year!! Moon Valley had planted a $1,000.00+ oak tree in my yard. Two years later, the tree died. When I'd dug up the tree to replace, I'd noticed that the box wood container was left on the rootball. Three experts have told me that leaving the container on the rootball would strangle the tree's root system. MV said that it was good to leave the wood container on the rootball. I'd received a 60% off coupon from Moon Valley. So, I'd picked an oak tree to replace my dead oak tree with the wood container that was left on. The tree that I'd selected had a price tag that read "was 799, now 399." The manager lady who helped me select the new oak tree handed me off to another salesman at the front desk (like a used car lot). He told me that I'd get 60% off of the $799, not $399. But, the tree's "now" price is $399 and I should receive 60% off on the $399 now price. I'd gotten out of there as fast as I could, never, ever to return. I then went to Home Depot and bought a nicer oak tree for $79. MV is so bad. read more

I've been getting our Christmas trees at this location for years. We got a late start getting it this year due to adopting 2 rescue dogs. We had them put in three tipu trees a couple years ago. Got one left. The big one in the front blew over for the third time last night. It has virtually no roots after two years. Last time they were out to stand it back up and re-stake it, we paid them $500 to inject food into the soil. It's been pruned to shorten it and open it up to be less of a sail but with the tiny round root ball there is nothing to hold it in the soil. I give up. Last time it took 5 days and as many messages left for them before they even called me back. They are always nice when they come out, but this tree should have had its roots trimmed or something before it was planted. We're going to cut it up and replace it with a different tree. Several months back, I decided to redo my tiny backyard and wanted a lemon tree. I was lucky enough to get Pat Walsh as my guide. He explained so much and was clearly well-versed in his field. He also showed me some gorgeous Honey Suckle bushes. I ended up with one lemon tree and 5 honey suckle bushes. Pat sent them to my home and they planted everything for me. They did a great job and left the job site clean and pretty. Along the way, my lemon tree started having some issues. I reached out to Pat. He had me take pics and quickly diagnosed the problem. I did what he told me to do and Miss Lemon tree bounced right back. This week, two of my Honey Suckle just croaked. I called out there but no Pat, so John helped me. Again, take pics and text them over. He told me I needed some vitamins and to come on out. When I got there, after all this time, Pat came right up, knew my name, looked at my pics. He was immediately going to replace both of them for me, but we decided to give the vitamins a try. If they don't work, he will get me two new bushes. The service here is just top notch. I was in need of finding replacement plants and visited Moon Valley Nurseries on 7th Street in Phoenix on September12, 2023. I was fortunate to be helped by Design Specialist Edgar Trujillo, who went out of his way to meet my needs. Mr. Trujillo even came to my house to remove the dead plants in advance of replacements scheduled for Sept. 14, 2023. He didn't have to do this, as this is not normally one of his duties. He did it to expedite the process, as they are extremely busy due to recent Monsoons which caused uprooting of plants and trees in the area. I have had only good experiences with Moon Valley Nurseries in the past, and caring employees like Edgar Trujillo, and quality products, are the reason I will go back whenever the need arises.
