Man, so glad we went here and asked for help! Being from Eastern Oregon, we just didn't know how to care for desert plants and bought a house with beautiful landscaping. As summer started everything looked like it was dying and everyone I asked and everything I googled said we were watering too much. Turned off water and they were dying faster! Dylan was amazing. I called the Tatum location with questions about planting a small courtyard. He said come on over with photos of the site. Within a half hour he'd drawn up a quick idea, picked the plants, and put them on a couple of wagons so l could see them all together. George and his crew were fantastic. They made the process of clearing out old trees and planting new ones a very easy, painless experience. They arrive on time, I speak with them for less than five minutes and go back inside to work without disruption. I return about 15-30 minutes later, and the team is done. Everything looks great! Matt and his crew just planted a large Yucca in front of our house. They were timely and professional. They hauled away all of the dirt they removed and left the area looking as if the tree had been in the front yard for years. Nate was like a surgeon with the heavy equipment and was able to place the tree in a confined area without disturbing any other foliage. These guys were all great. Moon Valley, in their defense, did contact me about my review and offered to make things right. Their schedule was very busy and it took over a month to replace my dead tree. They kindly extended a warranty on my 2 trees. I would have preferred they had replaced my tree as a priority but the new tree is a good replacement and equivalent to our prior tree. Thanks to Sophia & Don at Moon Valley Nurseries on Tatum. From the beginning Sophia the designer LISTENED to what I wanted as a style. Many sales people just try to sell you what they think you should have but not Sophia. She guided me in the plant selection & even told me not to place the number of plants I wanted in an area because it would become overcrowded. We were buying our own dirt for the plant beds & she cautioned us not to buy AS MUCH as the companies told us because it would be too much. Don, the foreman on "the install" couldn't be nicer. He was very professional & super accommodating. There were some design changes at the last minute & he managed them extremely well. We are almost finished with our back yard install & now Sophia is getting started on the front yard design! You will be very happy with this company! read more

We've been coming here for awhile now whenever we kill one of our house plants or want ideas for the outside. For the most part we like Moon Valley. They work hard at their customer service and have replace plants and bushes that have died too early for whatever reason. I've also read my fellow Yelpers who haven't had the experience we have had. I understand. We did need to argue our case at times. But I also believe it is how we approach people and the seniority of those we ask to fix things. I have always found it is important to find the manager who can be in a position to right a wrong. read more

We have to give a special shout out to Mason and Luigi for their help in selecting our Christmas tree this year! Luigi was so wonderful and even remembered us from last year. He took the time to walk around with us and explain all the different types of trees. Two years ago we went somewhere else to buy our tree, and it was dry and dead by Christmas Eve. Last year we went to Moon Valley and the tree lasted well into the New Year! This place is sincerely the best, with a very wide selection of heights and different trees - all very good quality. Cannot say enough good things about Moon Valley. Aside from Christmas trees, they have a great selection of other plants and trees. We purchased both a lemon and keylime tree here a few years ago. Moon Valley Nurseries was a HAPPY discovery. Our home was new to us but nearing 20 years old. All of the landscaping done when home was built was greatly overgrown, quite a bit had died and there were empty spots. No one would ever think WOW when they'd come up our driveway and I didnt like paying every year to have flowers planted in the 10 large cement pots around the pool and yard. Sophia of Moon Valley designed a beautiful and sensible plan for plantings that included adding a very large tree as a corner focal point for balance where one had been cut down. The team that arrived was expert, dug holes where marked, fertilized, planted and capped with mulch. They cleaned up as well. Follow up was also excellent. A couple of plants did not do well and the crew came back to replace those and all is good. She worked with me to find plants to use instead of the apparently very tasty Argentine Giant cactus that the javelinas devoured one by one. My front and back yards are GORGEOUS. Im happy I finally paid attention to the 841flyers they had sent over the years! It makes sense to buy from the nursery. This company knows what they are doing and is great to work with. I'm very late posting this review, but I wanted to say how wonderful my experience was with this nursery, specifically my interactions with Kaelen Conley and Don Coffman. My four-star review is based only on these two individuals and the quality of my two citrus trees and two ficus trees. My first install didn't go as well as I had hoped; however, Don Coffman (install supervisor) and Kaelen (sales) made sure everything was taken care of. These guys are pros and follow through from start to finish. From the moment I walked into the nursery, I was treated so well. Kaelen was able to get everything I needed and set up installation quickly. My trees are still new so I am hoping they make it, but for now they are beautiful and I'm super happy. Worst nursery ever! We will never do business with them again. Picked out 4 beautiful Tecoma 6 months ago. They brought us leafless diseased plants in January which we refused. Six months later we have green plants but half the size of the plants we paid for, not to mention that there were many broken branches and more that got broken in the process of planting. It's embarrassing to admit that we paid $400 for plants that look pathetic. We could have gotten.better plants at Home Depot and done a better job planting them ourselves. read more

Moon Valley Nursery installed a 10k+ Texas Ebony in my back yard. During installation on 1/31/23 they accidentally tore out underground gas and electrical lines. Moon immediately sought a contractor to repair the gas line controlling our heat. The electric was more problematic taking more than 2 weeks until a licensed electrician was brought in, instead of a fix-it guy. Five weeks later I contacted the original salesman, Joe Willis, about some concerns with the tree's transplant shock, including a slight crack in one of base trunks. He came over the next morning to check everything out. Joe described the tree's transplant conditions as normal, that the crack should heal, and offered to return in 3 months to review its progress or lack thereof. Sigh... would not recommend. I loved the sales person that I worked with; however, I wish I had done way more research prior to purchasing here. I was talked into two citrus trees that, over the phone, were quoted at $500 each, planted. When I arrived, the price became $1500 per piece which was apparently a sale price. I was shocked and agreed, stupidly. I was told that the price difference was due to the age of the trees and that I'd have fruit within two weeks. Ok, fine. Well, here I am with zero fruit and trees that look like they are **just** hanging on to life - despite following instructions to the T, researching my heart out on how to best care for new citrus, AND paying our landscaper to install custom irrigation for these trees. The fact that a nursery has a sales/finance section that looks like belongs in a used car lot should have tipped me off to RUN. So what do I have? $3k that I spent on two tiny trees that look like they are going to die, the realization that literally EVERY single nursery in Phoenix would have been cheaper, and zero citrus. If I could return these trees, I would. I will never shop here again, and would certainly never recommend this business to anyone. read more

Don Coffman oversaw the planting of a 54" box evergreen pear in my backyard. Crane and all. These guys have done this before! I lost the previous mature and beautiful evergreen pear in a storm last year. A small root ball remained but it didn't phase these guys. Would highly recommend and intend to use again if needed. We purchased a few large trees for our backyard and could not be happier with the customer service at the nursery and the install was over the top awesome. Roger and his crew were phenomenal.
