    Classic Moonlit Burger - Double
    Jacob N.

It was a crisp fall evening in the city of Pittsburgh. As I stared out my window, stomach growling and hunger rising, a bright light gleamed across the front lawn. Yes, it was a full moon and I knew it was time to venture boldly into the new Moonlit burgers in tahn. Rumors throughout the village had been steadily increasing about the delicious smash burger I was about to experience. Moonlit did not disappoint! The classic double was smashed to perfection, balanced neatly on a fresh bun with a generous portion of pickles to complement the savory patties. Don't wait for the next full moon like me, be an alpha wolf and get yourself a Moonlit burger! I can't wait to try the moonlit chicken burger and I'll report back soon. Side note, check your order before you leave. They forgot my fries and accidentally gave me the wrong order. It's a new place so I'm sure they'll work out the kinks but it's smart to check you have the right food!

Our first time to moonlit burgers was awesome!! We enjoyed our food - got the moonlit double cheeseburger and the fried chicken sandwich. I thought - oh should I not get the fried chicken sandwich at the burger joint...but I did not regret it at all! Juicy fried chicken, crispy breading, tasty slaw. My husband preferred the chicken sandwich to his burger. Fries are shoestring and well seasoned. Service was SLOW but friendly. We sat at the bar to be helped quicker, but it still was slow. Good positive vibes from the staff though. Soooo many people just ordering shakes and ice cream. I feel like they need to figure out a better system.

Mmm came in for a first time and first customer of the day, at 4:00 pm had to ask for instructions after finding a booth, menu on wall, walk to register for service. Food was disappointing. Ambiance food tray on walls. I want to give a good review.

We had a great visit at moonlit burgers! The milkshakes are always amazing. The portions were very large! Coming after happy hour it was definitely crowded and there were a bit of a wait but was worth it. We thought they were speedy after ordering and we liked the hustle and bustle of the place.

Awesome smash burgers. Super quick, always friendly and clean. Love stopping in for a delicious easy dinner. Smash sauce is banging and fries are elite.

I stopped by this Moonlit Burger location to take advantage of the Steeler Sunday $7 Double special. The service was super quick ordering at the counter. The burger and fries are absolutely delicious. I loved the shoestring fries! The staff were busy taking care of their customers. Moonlit has a reward program and that is a bonus. Next time, I look forward to treating myself to a milkshake!

Super good smash burger really delicious. Fries are shoestring, not my favorite but good quality and tasted good. The girl at the counter was very friendly and nice. The building is cl2an and easy to find. Parking can be tough.

Revisited the other day. The burgers here are great, just a delicious smash burger. The fries this time were a bit of a let down. You get a ton, but I'll skip them next go around. Hope to get a shake next time too. Fast service and ample street parking available.

Moonlit Burgers Dormont GOOD: Burger tasted pretty good, cooked perfect. Service was friendly and fast BAD: Value for the money "where's the beef?" Shake was far too small for the price and syrupy sweet. Moonlit burgers in Dormont had good reviews and good pictures of burgers, so I was eager to try it. My double bacon cheeseburger did taste good. It came out fast and they did cook it perfectly. My problem with Moonlit burgers is when the burger patties are smashed so thin you basically get four ounces between two patties at most for well over thirteen dollars - just a burger, no fries. Additionally, my shake seemed between 6-8 ounces, very small, and it was so sweet. It tasted like syrup; I had to stop consuming. I don't mind paying 21 dollars for a generous delicious burger and a large shake, but twenty one dollars for a tiny shake, and maybe four ounces of beef just doesn't cut it. I know this place is popular, but you still need to supply value for the dollar.

First time here after seeing all the reviews on Tic Toc! I grew up in this area and love the transformation of Dormont!! Moonlit Burgers is a fun, casual place with eclectic vibe and super friendly staff! The menu is simple and to the point and they offer everything a classic burger joint should have! There's a great bar (that even serves milkshakes) to go along with the small but fun dining room!! We had a double Bacon Double Cheese Burger($13) double patty, iceberg lettuce, tomato, sweet onion, garlic dijonnaise, martin's potato roll and Moon Bird Chicken Sandwich ($14) pickle brined chicken breast, smashville hot sauce, cabbage & jalapeno slaw, kosher dill pickles, signature moon sauce, martin's potato roll. Dormont is a great little area to walk around after a great dining experience at Moonlit Burgers!! Reminds me of Portland Oregon...

Moonlit is a favorite spot of ours for smash burgers in the South Hills. My favorite menu item is their Smash Fries - they are exactly like the burger (meat and all), but piled on their shoe string fries. So good! Prices are fair, but we love going during the Steeler games when they run a $6 smash burger special for dine-in. The atmosphere is casual, and you order at the counter and your food is ready shortly after.

We've been somewhat disappointed with the food in Pittsburgh, but this place turned things around. The service is very friendly and quick. The burgers are delicious and substantial. We definitely got full. The environment is relaxed and friendly.

I actually dream of Moonlit Burgers haha! Gosh, I love this place. The smash burgers are SO good - super thin with crispy edges. I love the Martin's potato roll bun. I love the moon sauce. I love the shoestring fries. One of my favorite places! To top it off, they have a full bar and serve Millie's ice cream (yes, you can get a boozy milkshake). They have gluten free options as well as vegetarian options! You order at a counter and then are given a table number where they deliver your food to you. Will always recommend this spot for a delish smash burger!

It's a proper neighborhood butcher shop on Butler Street, the kind of place that had mostly disappeared around here. They do whole animal butchery with meat sourced from local Pennsylvania farms, and you can feel how much the folks working there care about what they're doing. It's not a huge space, just a display case full of cuts, a wall of house made goods, and a small sandwich menu, but that's part of the charm. The staff were friendly and happy to point me in the right direction. The sandwiches are what really got me though. The smash burger is fantastic, a double patty on a challah bun with that special sauce, and you can actually taste the quality of the beef, which makes sense given the whole operation is built around good meat. I also grabbed some of their house made pastrami, and it did not disappoint, tender and full of flavor. Knowing everything is made in house, right down to the bacon and sausages, makes it even better. If you live nearby and don't have a butcher yet, this is the one.

Love the decor in the shop. There were many prepared food options in the fridge, as well as various cuts of meat/preparations of it. We got two sandwiches, the cheesesteak and the marbella. I dont think we ended up with the correct order because we didn't end up with a cheesesteak, but did not realize until we got home. I'm positive that if I went back to the shop they would've remedied the situation, but I didn't feel it was necessary! The sandwich we did end up with was good as well, unsure which one it was though. Very fair prices, and our dog was so happy we brought him home a bone as well! Looking forward to coming back and trying everything they have to offer.

Tessaro's American Bar…read more Great Atmosphere, Great Staff, but Food and Facilities Missed the Mark Tessaro's American Bar has an amazing atmosphere. The place looks fantastic, the vibe is great, and the wait staff was excellent, friendly, knowledgeable, and there were plenty of them, so service was quick and attentive. The cocktails were very good and definitely one of the stronger parts of the night. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the setting or the price. We ordered a hamburger with fried potatoes and a blackened shrimp pasta. Both dishes were good, but nowhere near great. My fiancé felt the hamburger needed seasoning. It tasted mostly like plain ground meat with cheese and mushrooms on top. The pasta dish came with impressively large shrimp, but the rest of the meal didn't match that quality. It was just spiral pasta in a runny Alfredo sauce that never thickened, even as it cooled, almost as if the pasta went straight from the water into the sauce. The flavor was fine, but nothing memorable. For the portion sizes, the pricing felt high. A small pasta dish, two cocktails, and a hamburger came to about $90, and the food simply didn't justify that cost. I also want to mention the bathrooms. For as nice as the place looks, both myself and my fiancé were pretty disappointed. They reminded me of old mall bathrooms, cold, dated, and not well maintained. They're also located right next to the kitchen, which led to an uncomfortable moment. When I stepped out, a blond busser with glasses was loudly cursing at another employee in the kitchen. I was within ten feet of them, so I heard the whole exchange, including him saying he was going to tell someone to "go F themselves." Not exactly the kind of thing you expect to walk into at a place with such a polished atmosphere. Don't get me wrong, the meals were good. The service and cocktails were great. But between the food not matching the price point and the bathroom/kitchen experience, the night didn't quite live up to what the atmosphere promised.
