Dad's dog & burger is the perfect throwback sandwich spot for all your burger and fries cravings. The menu is obviously very limited to burgers and hotdogs, but definitely well worth the visit. And I think I found my favorite fish sandwich in Pittsburgh! The batter was perfectly crispy and cooked well. I got the half size side of onion rings which was the perfect amount for one person. I don't think I would've been able to eat anymore because they were so filling. I've heard their milkshakes are really good too and I definitely want to come back to try one. The staff was super nice as well!

My wife and I snuck in a quick lunch and it did not disappoint. Perfectly crispy burger patty with a delicious potato bun and quality toppings. onion rings were incredibly flavorful, and the fries were addictive! Only a few tables so try and go early or prepare for take out on a busy weekday. It's right next to West Penn hospital so it can get slammed with hospital employees. Overall, it's a time capsule. Feels like 1970's Pittsburgh and the prices are extremely reasonable.

Food was still delicious I came on a Sunday and it was packed! The booths (3) were all taken and people were waiting outside to come in and order since it's so small and others were waiting for their orders. The staffs smiles never left even in the busy rush that never ended. one person still even asked me if I needed anything and if the food was ok. PLUS now you can order just a side of onion rings instead of a whole order, I still couldn't finish them though lol.

Looking for a snappy hot dog cooked correctly on a flat top with French fries that are thin and crispy. We'll here you go, small place but enjoyable for a hot dog and a pile of fries. Very happy afterwards. Will come back and bring the fam.

As a child of divorce, passing up this restaurant is an unforgivable paternal transgression. Dad's Dog & Burger is an intimate hole-in-the-wall with three four-top booths and 6 barstools, leaving the max occupancy pretty cozy, here. But the formula works out. 1. Place your order at the register 2. Wait very briefly 3. See God 4. Leave These made-to-order mustard-smashed burgers are perfectly seasoned, covered in melty American cheese, deeply caramelized onions, special sauce, and whatever else you like, and nestled between perfectly toasted, soft buns. Tucked lovingly into a paper wrap and buddied up with the perfectly cooked side of your choice, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better burger made this way. Long story short, the price is right, the staff is friendly, the place is cozy, and the food is good enough to eat two days in a row (true story). I'm so glad dad finally came home from going out for cigs so he could open up the best burger joint in Pittsburgh.

This is the cutest, most nostalgic little burger shop! The service was a 10 out of 10 and the vibe was everything you could hope for. It really made you feel like you were stepping back into an old little burger shop. All of the ingredients were fresh, the burgers, fries, and milkshakes were absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back!

Great retro vibe. Excellent dogs with a perfect snap, onion rings are off the charts delicious! Very friendly and welcoming staff, great service and great prices.

Sometimes in life the best things are the most simple. Dad's does an incredible job of creating a no frills burger that knocks it out of the park. The menu is reasonably priced and service is really fast. I truly love that you can get counter service and watch everything happen behind the scenes. This burger is the closest I've had to In-and-Out on the east coast and that is a high compliment coming from me.

My wife and I went to Dad's Dog & Burger for diner. The place is very small with very limited seating. I ordered a hamburger and my wife and I shared fries and onion rings. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food came out pretty quick. The hamburger was really good and so was the fries. I did not care for the onion rings. I would definitely recommend this place. I would also go again in the future.

I went and got a burger and the onion rings!! Both were good and classics you can't go wrong with. I need to go back and try the hot dog and fries.

Order at the counter style diner. The staff running it were cheerful and helpfully answered the couple questions I had. Onion rings were a star. I also think they make their own ranch because it was especially good. Burgers tasted the way I was craving-awesome.

I recently met a friend here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We arrived around 1:30 pm to try to avoid the lunch rush since the space is small. When we arrived, a booth opened up so it was good timing. You place your order at the counter and then your food/drinks are brought to you. I ordered a hot dog with cheese, ketchup, and pickles. I also ordered a side of fries and a vanilla milkshake. The food came out quickly. The kitchen/grill is out in the open so you can see your food being prepared. Overall, my food was good. It tasted like a nostalgic old school diner, which I liked! The staff were all so so sweet. They also have complimentary match books and stickers which is a fun touch. Overall, I'm glad to have Dad's in the city and I'll def be back to try some other offerings.

Anyone who has ever dogged this place (pun intended) is just a hater and hates whimsy and joy. Really great food. Wonderful employees. Everything was great!! Burgers were the perfect smash burgers, fries are a McDonald's dupe (complimentary) onions rings were absolutely bussin. Small but super cute inside and gives major throwback vibes. I love dads dog & burger!!

Classic hot dogs with elevated flavors and genuinely good hearted owners!…read more Pittsburgh Street Dogs is tucked in the corner of a parking lot of Springdale... but they represent nationwide flavors with their creative and generously topped hot dogs!! From the moment I walked in, the owners greeted me and immediately walked me through the whole process. The menu is extensive, but they explained it all and were more than happy to take any other questions. You can tell these two love what they do with so much fun hot dog decor on every wall, Springdale High School gear draping the walls, and such creative and honor for their craft of delivering top notch food to their community! I ordered the Kansas City Chief Hot Dog, the Elote Hot Dog, and a side of Notorious RBC fries!! I added on a Turners Tea and a pack of Chocolate Crinkle cookies!! Let me just say... ILLL BE BACKKK again and again!! I got the order to go and they individually packed my ranch and my lime so that I could dress the items when I was ready to eat. The Kansas City Chief was amazing. Sauerkraut and Thousand Island bubbling out of the bun... but just that snap of the hot dog and perfect bun to hold all of the culinary chaos in. The Elote Hot Dog was just like you'd want. The lime juice popping off with the fresh sweet corn and spices!! The Notorios RBC should definitely be notorious such flavor with the ranch, bacon, chili, and cheese but the fresh French fries held up and had crisp crunch throughout. Turners Iced Tea in a carton.... That's just true yinzer code! And the cookiessss... it really was a brookie and mannnn it was decadent and moist... almost as if they baked them just that morning!! The price is soooo reasonable. The vibe is Pittsburgh dive. The food will knock your socks off! Hot dog. Hot dog. Hot diggity dog!!!

There are additional shaded tables outside, too. The staff is very friendly, and made us feel welcome. Our hot dogs were terrific, (natural casing, and they did have the satisfying "snap!" as advertised) and our cookies were also outstanding. There are plenty of sides, too. One menu item included a trio of mac & cheese, baked beans, and coleslaw. If you are a vegetarian, you will likely be able to find something to eat here. We will definitely stop back here if we're in the area again!

Tasty wings and great hot dogs equals my kind of restaurant!…read more They have a variety of wing flavors and truly get them right. They are decently sized (seriously, why are so many wings in Pittsburgh so tiny?!) and they cook them to the perfect level of crispy. They also have both blue cheese and celery (which can be surprisingly hard to find in Pittsburgh). They have a monthly hot dog flavor and they are always creative. I think my favorite may have been their buffalo chicken dip hot dog. They also have a set menu of some traditional combos (like a Chicago dog) but have some creative options like the pineapple one. The layout is interesting with some tables in the bar area (plus bar seating, some patio seating and a back room with additional tables. It can get busy, so there is often a wait.
