Cold Friends Kitchen sells appetizers, smash burgers and other sandwiches, and bowls. I saw Cold Friends Kitchen's food truck at the BaconBurgh festival, and they were offering several menu items. I bought a Jelly Belly smash burger from them. The employee made friendly conversation and mae my burger in a reasonable amount of time. This Jelly Belly smash burger uniquely contained pork belly, muenster, jalapeno-apricot jam, peanut butter, and peanut crunch. As I ate this burger, it dripped all over my hands, and I had to use hand wipes to clean my fingers. However, it did taste good. According to Cold Friends Kitchen's website, they also offer catering.

They were outside of Velum in Southside! I liked both the egg rolls and pierogies. I heard the burgers are good so I will have to try one next time.

Cold Friends Kitchen offers some of my favorite comfort food in Pittsburgh. The cheeseburger egg rolls and pierogies never disappoint. They both have strong savory blends of flavor in their own way, and the portions are relatively generous for the price. The crew are always so friendly and are always happy to make recommendations. Something to note: this is a food truck stationed outside of Velum Fermentation. You'll need to make use of Velum's seating if you're not getting your food to go.

I'd give them more starts if I could!! Tried this food truck at the bacon burgh festival for the first time and it was the best burger I've ever had and the most innovative food in Pittsburgh that I've tried in a long time. I got the jelly belly and it was messy but so worth it. I will track them down to get another one!! Very kind and fast for being one of the busier booths.

Discovered them while I was at Velum and will never forget the mind blown pork belly bites I had ever since. Absolutely the best I've ever had in my life. The perfect balance of charredness and juicy on the inside. The staffs are so friendly and you can tell by how much they enjoy being in the kitchen! Love watching them prepare the food. One of my favorite food trucks in the city. Tip: They also offer a pay it forward meal if you would like to do that too.

Ate here while drinking beers at Velum and...I gotta say...they are better, much better, at making food than Velum is at making beer. The menu is...hard to explain. A mix of high-end stoner food, classic American, new-school American, PGH local flavor, and even some Asian influences. I got a big ol sloppy wet burger and...it was incredible. It was called the hot shot and...while I wish it was a bit more spicy...it was packed with hearty flavors. It also came with fries, something that is sadly becoming rare in the fancier burger scene. The fries were also really good, good enough to be ordered on their own.

Cold Friends Kitchen is taking over at New Amsterdam and it's been a huge upgrade! I got the Blackened Gold Mac and it was so flavorful and delicious. It also reheated very well in the microwave!

INCREDIBLE FOOD TRUCK WITH AN INCREDIBLE MISSION. Just do yourself a favor and give it a try. The burgers were fantastic, I don't love pork belly and I could eat theirs all day, the curry poutine is innovative, and the fries were spot on. I tried their soup of the day, and it was confidently one of the most unique and delicious creations. Their stuff is next level and the staff are genuine people. Go support them, you won't regret it!!

Fries are the kind that have some sort of breading and are nice and crispy. Today I got the BLT and I would definitely get it again! The side salad was kind of mediocre (I was trying to make a healthier choice and avoid the fries). Got a beer (not pictured). Usually the service is very good, but I'm going to be honest, it was pretty sad today. My girlfriend and I agreed it seemed like the bartender both hated his job, and was not good at it. We will still be back. Cool little Southside place with pinball machines and a relaxed bar atmosphere.

The food is good, as long as you go in with the right expectations. This isn't fine dining, but it's a nice take on vegetarian-accessible pub food, slightly elevated. The vegan tofu wrap was nicely done with crispy fried tofu, but it was heavily dependent on the availability of various sauces for flavor. The "disc brake bean cakes" were somewhat unique, but still good when fully assembled with all the relevant toppings. They would probably be better described as black bean crepes with Tex-Mex toppings. I highly recommend ordering several different sauces to go with your meal (buffalo, barbecue, diablo, etc.). We ordered takeout this time, and the overall ordering experience was good. There is an online ordering page, but the items on that page aren't completely aligned with menus on the web site. We ended up calling to place an order, which was still very easy. All the food was well packaged and ready to go exactly when they said it would be. This is a great South Side destination, especially when you're looking for something comfortable and relatively low key but still fun.

The Parmesan roll was great and a good amount of food, especially for just $4. However, the pretzels themselves were pretty disappointing but ok; I couldn't tell the difference between them and microwave pretzels (e.g., super pretzel from when I was a kid). The tomato basil pretzel was a big better with the toppings. Overall, I would get rolls and topped pretzels but pass on the plain or lightly seasoned ones. The service was good and quick (4/5), but they are cash only. They do have an ATM if needed. The interior has a small standing area and is reasonably nice.

Everything was amazing. The pretzels were all well salted, cooked, and presented. The delivery was smooth. I would definitely recommend them for catering. I then went downtown that weekend with friends to grab some other items fresh from the store. DON'T SLEEP ON THEM... no but literally.... If you come down in the afternoon, there will not be any choices. We got there at 3:30 and there were only five pretzels (not five types, but only five pretzels). They make it fresh and it sells. Only issue is that their store is not a place to eat. They only have two small counters against the front windows, and when people are entering and exiting, the door is almost a weapon to people trying to eat inside. But honestly, just get it to go and eat it at home.

One night recently when undecided of where to have dinner my wife said hey we've been wanting to try Nadine's so let's go. When we pulled up it lived up I was pleased to see they had their own parking lot. First impression of outside and inside was that it was definitely a dive bar, but that's not a bad thing. It's a tiny little place, long and narrow. It seemed like most of the patrons were local regulars. The menu was bigger than I expected and was surprised to see that they even offer breakfast service. We sat at the bar and we were quickly greeted. I decided to try the soup of the day which was lasagna soup. It wasn't bad, but not amazing. It could have had a little more seasoning. I then ordered a Reuben and my wife had a cheesesteak. The food was cooked right in front of us on a tiny little griddle behind the bar. It didn't take long for the food to arrive. It was all pretty solid. My wife seemed to enjoy her sandwich as did I. I should have asked for more Russian dressing for my Reuben but it was good.
