extraordinarily boring burgers. The actual flavor of the beef and ingredients is mid. The sauce has no flavor - if you didn't pick it out on the menu and read about it, you would assume it's just mayonnaise and ketchup mixed together. it's a bizarre choice to have such an interesting-sounding ingredient be so underwhelming. they're about 1/4 as good as Lula and 1/2 as good as Wendy's if I'm feeling a burger. Have been here three times in thee past month. Have tried the double smash cheese burger twice and the queso and chips which comes with a smash burger crumpled up in the white queso with onions, jalapeños and pickles. Stopped here for a Saturday lunch while in the area. With there being several locations, this particular one was nestled on the edge of a downtown district leaning towards residential neighborhoods. There is street parking which we had to find a block away, metered parking as well. Set up as a fast casual place - enter, place order, take seat and they bring our food and drink. No fountain beverages, everything bottled and a la carte. We ordered a double burger each, mine the regular one with the moon sauce and onion. We also added the moon fries to start which I thought were just play fries but actually came with two burgers on top with cheese and moon sauce. The fries were very good - definitely a fork use only - plenty of flavor and the fries were a nice vessel for the burger, cheese and moon sauces. The burgers were your standard smash burgers - and I appreciated the tangy flavor of the moon sauce which I got an extra side of in case they short changed us. To take I added a chocolate shake which was also very good. The staff was friendly, attentive, and they buss your table for you which is nice. Nice bright colors, bathroom was clean and decorative, and obviously a new build where they have recently opened and are making sure to handle every customer thoroughly. read more

I got the moonlit double smash burger with fries. The meat quality of the burger was good. However, the outer edges of the meat were pretty burnt and the bun was very average. I suppose this is how a Smashburger is, but I've had better smash burgers elsewhere. I honestly could've gotten a third patty because two didn't quite satisfying, my hunger. The space is really cool with a nice outdoor seating. The restaurant was very clean inside and the restroom was spotless. The service was excellent. We were greeted when we came in the door. The cashier was very friendly. They had a lot of beer options and even other drink options. I would go here again in the future. read more

We were in Sewickley for their Light Up Night on Friday and Moonlit Burgers had an outdoor stand serving burgers outside at their storefront. Moonlit had been one of our favorite smash burgers in the city since they were doing pop ups in east liberty. We have been to every location and have been very anxiously awaiting this location to open as it is closest to our home. We went on the opening weekend and have been back again a second time. It is just as good as we remember! The burgers are great and the buns are delicious too. The fries are always crispy and the portion is generous. Service was a little slow the first time, but to be expected on opening weekend!! The second time was nice and fast! They had coloring pages for our boys to do while we waited for our food and the staff have been really kind and accommodating to our littles. Staff are friendly and efficient in getting the large crowds through the line and seated with ease. The smash burgers are the main draw for me, but they have plenty of sides, drinks and shakes. First time visiting the new location here! (been to Dormont) The staff here is so welcoming and very swift with checking on you. The food came within 2 minutes. We took the last table it was busy but again the staff pays attention to details of every table here and looking at the floors. They keep it very clean. The one blonde woman working was very personable and sweet to all tables here as I watched her interactions. I got The Big Mick and it has a lot of different flavors you get from all that's on it. I love a good smash burger. We will be back! Maybe on a weekday and not a Friday evening when finding street parking is a challenge. read more

First chance to visit this new location. We were there in the snow and late lunch time so the place was pretty empty. The lines I've seen on a typical Saturday during lunch are a testament to this restaurant's popularity. We ordered (2) bacon cheeseburgers, chicken fingers, a chicken sandwich and fries and four bottles of soda. $73 seems so steep for burgers and fries but these guys do it better then most so it's worth it!! The location is bright and beautiful and all new!! The food is well made and fresh! The rolls are always fresh and the staff is super friendly and answered our questions happily!! I went back within a week....i had to try the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and the chili cheese fries. The sandwich was delicious..a good crispy coating with wonderful flavor. BUT, the star of the show were the chili cheese fries. The chili is so tasty! I intend to go back and ask them to put the chili on my burger! We topped it off with a chocolate shake....excellent! Prices are very reasonable and food comes out quickly. Service is excellent....but I do feel they can get a bit carried away with not taking ur order until they are assured there will be an open table for your party....seems like they are adding more work for themselves. read more

Ate dinner here on a Saturday evening when it was busy enough the owner kept a waiting list. After 15 minutes we got a text that we could join the line to order, and a table was waiting for us outside. Food was brought to us quickly, but we had to get our own napkins, plasticware, and condiments. Also the milkshake that was ready later. The staff will clear the table when you're done. We paid about $20 per person for 2 burgers, 1 side of shoestring fries (feeds 2-4 people depending on your appetite), 1 strawberry milkshake (thick, and not too big), plus tip. Food was good. My first visit to Moonlit Burgers....will be the first of MANY!! We were welcomed as soon as we walked in. The staff made suggestions. We got two single burgers and shared fries. They were perfect smash burgers with the onions and special sauce taking it to another level. The shoestring fries were great also with plenty to share between the two of us. We had to get dessert and we tried the chocolate soft serve which had a very rich chocolate flavor and the ABSOLUTE BEST STRAWBERRY SHAKE of my LIFE! It had real chunks of strawberries, creamy and she was thick and of course topped with whip cream. I will be dreaming of that shake until I have another! We stopped in to Moonlit for a late lunch recently. The restaurant is tucked away on a side street of the main street of Sewickley. There's some indoor as well as outdoor seating, with heaters on the outside tables. You order at the counter and find a table, and then your food is brought to you. We each had the #4 best seller, with one side of fries and one of the bean salad. Prices are a little much, especially since the burger doesn't come with sides. The burger itself was tasty, if very messy to eat. There was also a bit too much hot sauce. The fries were okay, just basic. The bean salad was good, just had too much liquid. First timer at Moonlit Burger and it did not disappoint! And spoiler alert... I didn't even get a burger. I just wasn't feeling it, so we went with the chicken sandwich instead -- and wow. That thing was HUGE, so flavorful, and the perfect level of spicy without being too much. We ordered the Moon Bird Chicken Sandwich and the Impossible Smash burger with an order of shoestring fryers. The chik sandwich was great, perfectly crispy and jalapeño coleslaw wasn't too hot but it had a lot of flavor. The impossible burger was also great couldn't tell it wasn't a real burger and it was juicy just like any well made smash burger. I visited with my family on Friday night. Quite the crowd for opening weekend and we were excited to be there after having enjoyed Moonlit Burgers in Dormont. The man taking names for the waitlist told me with conviction that it would be 15 minutes but "likely less". After 45 minutes, we left... watching four tables sit empty for 20+ minutes while crowds of groups waited outside. They definitely need to work out some kinks. The next time I go, I'm looking forward to a better experience and actually being able to eat. read more

Have been wanting to try since we heard they were opening a location in Sewickley. Seemed to take forever to get opened. We looked at their website and saw they were open for lunch. Just to double check, we called and their message confirmed they were open for lunch. We parked on the street at the address listed and had a hard time finding it. It's back off the street and could benefit from a sign out at the street. We entered and were told they did not open until 3PM. WHAAAT? Your website and phone message don't have the accurate hours. If you can't get that right, we won't be going back. Since we were in Sewickley and already paid for parking, we decided to try Lula. Wonderful place with good food and friendly staff.
