    Reuben with fries
    Derek R.

A nice little find on a busy street. Basic mom and Pop diner food. Breakfast all day. Burgers, sandwiches and milkshakes. Counter service or booth service ( booths are rather tight to fit in ) tables are available. Menu selection is decent. I ordered the Reuben sandwich with coleslaw instead of sauerkraut, and it was excellent just the right amount of thousand island dressing, the corn beef was sliced thin, very tender . The sandwich came with a side of "lunch counter fries" which were hot and tasty . Iced tea was good. Prices were a little high for a diner, but whatnot high in this economy. I was disappointed to see that they do not use Heinz ketchup here in Pittsburgh. My bill was $20.00 with tax and tip. Very friendly waitress, I will return.

We went in on a Sunday morning for the first time. It was buzzing with people in their Steelers gear talking about the game. It's authentic to the diner layout and feel with booths lining the wall and an open kitchen with small bar looking into the kitchen. Food was nothing special. If you're looking for down home food made from scratch this isn't it. The potatoes appeared to be real and cut in house instead of something frozen. It filled us up and made us bloated. We aren't complaining by any means, I felt like I had an idea of what we were ordering when we went into the place. It's a great spot for a quick breakfast if you're in the neighborhood and don't feel like cooking yourself. Service was quick, our waitress kept the coffee hot and checked on us appropriately. We'll definitely be back.

Best diner in Bellevue/ Avalon. The service is quick and friendly, the atmosphere is old school diner, and the food is fresh and what you'd expect from your local diner. Today I had the dari-vila burger. It was delicious. I will definitely be coming back.

    The mighty D-V Burger.

Note #1: CASH ONLY. However, they do have an ATM inside and will give you $1 off your meal if you use it. Geekiness aside, I had no idea this joint existed until I used some Google-fu in the hopes of finding some brunch this beautiful fall morn. And find good, good grub we did. When you walk in, you'll find that time is motionless here. Stools that resemble upright dumbbells line a counter over which cooks labor lovingly over a steaming, sizzling griddle. Weathered booths have coat hangers sticking out from behind them. The help are all middle-aged and beyond. You feel as if you've known them for most of your life even though you've never seen them before. We arrived shortly after 11AM, and because of this, I almost ordered breakfast, but my readers know that I can't resist a burger challenge when I come across one. Along comes the D-V Burger, a behemoth with the combined DNA of 5 McDonald's Big Macs and 10 Eat 'N Park Superburgers. It is triple-deckered and quadruple the flavor and texture of any fast food burger. Veggies (lettuce, tomato, onion, and coins of dill pickle) and a "secret sauce" inhabit the first floor. Bread and smashed, blackened, flattop patties of protein rule the rest of this tower. The bun's brown crust is a throwback; its cushiony freshness an inspiration as the dressing remains an exquisite mystery. Upon first gaze, the burger itself was already catapulted into my Hall Of Fame. 20 minutes later, the burger was in my stomach, its soul rising to Diner Valhalla. The side order of fries were commendably, flawlessly golden and crisp. The form of my dessert destructor came from a waffle iron. Enter: The Waffle Supreme. Massive, brown, fluffy, imposing to behold, and resembling the topographical image of a circular labyrinth, the waffle is topped with golden vanilla ice cream, strawberry sauce, and whipped cream. Having it for breakfast would be oh so inappropriate yet oh so delectably decadent. With two monsters slain, I paid my tab, tipped our waitress well, and headed back to Brookline with Kay behind the wheel. Today was a great Sunday to die. P.S. Kay's corned beef hash was nice 'n crispy. Her biscuits and gravy were homemade heaven.

I want to give more stars for the locality and nostalgia factors. But the food is a bit yuck.

Terrific little Diner on Lincoln Avenue. Classic menu of traditional selections. Breakfast and lunch. Try the Homefries!

We walked in and the server wasn't pleasant. The atmosphere was cold. We left and went to Joes Rusty Nail. Much better option!

Just garbage. Service sucked. Coffee sucked. Took over 45 mins just to get food and they were not busy. Simply a waste of time.

I had been there several years ago with the same friend for a hangover curing breakfast of biscuits and Italian sausage gravy, and I remembered how good that was. This time I went to try their house beers, and I was again very happy. The Brewery is a cozy little place tucked in a side street, and the interior is worn but clean and comfortable. The staff are super friendly and efficient, but I should note that it wasn't very busy at the time. In any event, our excellent beers never ran dry, and when we were ready to eat the service was quick. We started with some pickle dip (yum!). My buddy then ordered the black and blue burger - one of his favorites. It's actually a triple patty deal with some hot sausage in the mix. It was messy as hell, but he really enjoyed it. I went with the Buffalo mac-n-cheese. It was very tasty and had a nice kick from the spicy Buffalo chicken. Overall it was a nice experience, and I'll definitely be back. One word of caution though: The Brewery is moving across the street into the old post office building. I'm not sure exactly when this is planned, but I hear it will be soon. The new building is being gutted and refit with everything needed, and will include an outdoor area that can accommodate live music. I'm really happy that they are doing well enough to grow, and can't wait to check out the new place when it opens.

It took them over a year to renovate it and they still aren't done in the back and the parking lot is a little rutted but the inside is very nicely done. There is a huge bar and some high and low tables scattered throughout. The clientele is mostly locals and lot of laborers grabbing a drink and a bite to eat after working hard all day which was great to see. It's super casual and very open inside. We had a few beers and the bartender was good. She was attentive and was waiting on 20 folks at the bar as well as table drinks. The manager was able to help serve some food to help her out but never once asked us how everything was. That was a little bit of a missed opportunity in my opinion for a new business. We ordered a breakfast burger that came with some hashbrowns on the side. I assumed, which is my fault totally, that the burger would come with lettuce, tomato, etc. but it truly was JUST a burger, egg, and cheese and absolutely no other toppings. That was disappointing and I really wish the bartender would have asked if I wanted anything on it. I ended up using ketchup for moisture since she was so busy and I was hungry. :) The hashbrowns were frozen and fried so they were nothing special. I think this place has tremendous potential. We'll be back to try something else. It seems busy so that's a good sign.

Great sports watching venue, with wall to wall TV screens all over. Clean, shiny, and with some fun sports games too (i. e. golf video, darts, etc). The menu offers lots of ol local favorites and some with a nice twist (i. e. pulled pork sandwiches, flatbread pizzas, salads, Chipped ham Sammy, etc). Had the Isleys chipped ham sandwich which they serve warm with melted cheddar, grilled onions on a bun. However, they were gracious enough to make it for me cold, with Mayonnaise and a slice of cheese. This is unlike another place down the road (RI) from them that wouldn't adjust items on a sandwich for me last week. The waiter/bartender was super chill too, easy to talk to and basically good at his job. Our refills came quickly and without asking. He followed up to see what we wanted a couple times and the food arrived in a reasonable time (not much waiting at all). This was so very different from that same day where at our usually spot (another old bar/restaurant further down the road, "SJ") we had to walk out just after ordering lunch due to getting attitude from a mouthy waitress. Glad we decided to try this new spot! Great job! I think we found our new local "go to" bar/restaurant. Looking forward to it and to soon trying breakfast there on weekends too. A must try f you haven't been there yet.

It's been a great addition to the Mt Nebo area that has always lacked a modern, good eats menu. This location has a small arcade upstairs that is nice to entertain the kids for a bit. I enjoyed the jerk chicken cheesesteak - a fun twist on the classic Philly cheesesteak. Throw fries are dusted with a seasoning that is good and palatable for children. My husband and I ate one dinner here. The menu listed salads, wings, sandwiches, pizzas, entrees such as pasta and steak, in-house beers, cocktails, mocktails, etcetera. Our waitress performed her job well. Here is what we ate: Crab rangoon nachos - 4 stars - Wonton chips were covered in sweet chili glaze, large chunks of imitation crab meat (which my husband liked), green onion, and black sesame seeds. Apricot bourbon salmon - 4 stars - The salmon was cooked nicely and was juicy and flavorful. For sides, the mixed vegetables had a bit too much oil, and the brussels sprouts could use more flavor. Chicken cordon bleu sandwich - 4 stars - My husband said that the chicken was slightly overfried and hard, but the flavors from the arugula, onions, prosciutto, cheese, and dijonaise were good. He liked the side of crispy fries. The total price was $54 plus tax and tip.
